18:07 GuShH_ rue_house: how the hell do you install these things? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Icemaker-WR30X186-genuine-GE-Hotpoint-Ice-maker-makes-5-barrel-cubes-/321290775324?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ace6c2b1c I can't figure out the water inlet part, it would overflow I don't see any valve just a tiny plastic tray (the white part at the back) ... I also don't see how it can rotate, I'm puzzled at this thing.
18:08 Tom_itx comes in the water inlet
18:09 Tom_itx the water is metered
18:09 Tom_itx on most of em
18:09 GargantuaSauce http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzHaWc5n70A
18:21 GuShH_ Tom_itx: should be..
18:27 GuShH_ Tom_itx: I see no inlet valve or anything just a rubber hose that hooks up to a plastic bit... I don't see how it won't overflow without a valve.
18:27 GuShH_ maybe I'm missing parts
18:28 GuShH_ or there's a valve inside the fridge I haven't seen yet
18:45 Tom_itx no there shouldn't be
18:45 Tom_itx it should be self contained
18:45 Tom_itx afik
18:47 gushhtab Tom_itx some use solenoids like washing machines
18:49 sherlock mmm melted multimeter pin
18:49 erlock didnt do anything dumb, I duno what your talking a
19:17 rue_house GuShH_, the water lines goes to a valve, its in the warm part tho
19:18 gushhtab Its all taken apart still
19:19 gushhtab Checking out the compressor perf
19:40 rue_house funny, that reminds me, i got a unit from a broken fridge with the half cooked notion of puttinng it in mine,
19:41 rue_house I then recall thinking it was a stupid idea
19:41 rue_house dont know what happened to the unit
20:48 GuShH_ rue_house: this unit is for this fridge, it was simply never installed
20:49 GuShH_ no valves that I can see , so I'm missing something.
21:47 GargantuaSauce bah
21:47 GargantuaSauce it is snowing up
21:47 GargantuaSauce up I say!
21:47 GargantuaSauce not down, not sideways, up
21:47 Tom_itx up what?
21:47 GargantuaSauce upwards
22:08 rue_shop2 we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling
22:09 MrCurious you guys working on sex robots again?
22:09 Tom_itx never was
22:11 GargantuaSauce mine's been shelved, ever since the incident...
22:12 GargantuaSauce designing for 3d printing is hard :(
22:12 GargantuaSauce i should really get some PVA support material
22:12 MrCurious in programming, they always ask "will it scale" i wish to turn that question over to the makers of baxter the robot... "will it scale" beyond 50' tall?
22:12 MrCurious i want to see a giant baxter in LA harbor unloading containors like a 2 year old playing with blocks
22:12 GargantuaSauce i always picture that thing flashing angry eyes and smashing the nearest human
22:13 MrCurious could have it do that on hallloween...
22:13 GargantuaSauce TEACHING IT TO EMOTE WAS THE FIRST MISTAKE
22:25 rue_shop2 armyofevilrobots, will you dig out this window if I say your name?
22:27 rue_shop2 armyofevilrobots hello?
22:31 Faek armyofevilrobots: For the 3
22:34 rue_shop2 roommate is drunk, should I exploit him and keep asking to borrow $20 till his rent is paid?
22:35 GargantuaSauce have you still not kicked that guy to the curb
22:35 GargantuaSauce or is this a NEW deadbeat :/
22:35 myofevilrobots ri
22:35 MrCurious another day where it was near 80F
22:36 rue_shop2 armyofevilrobots, http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/newpower.pdf
22:36 rue_shop2 if I were to bring a bit and a 1.2mm peice of aluminum sheet ?
22:38 rue_shop2 there is 1 hole that needs to be square, but I have a nibbler to square it up
22:38 rue_shop2 I have dxf
22:40 rue_shop2 then again, maybe a translucent front would be cooler....
22:40 e_shop2 ponders
22:41 rue_shop2 if I put a clear faceplate on the power supply, I'm gonna have to do a real nice job of the inside
22:41 e_shop2 looks for spare l
22:49 armyofevilrobots No problem.
22:50 armyofevilrobots either aluminum or lexan would be fine.
22:50 armyofevilrobots I kinda like painting plastic with Krylon then etching it after to get a "glow through" effect.
22:51 rue_shop2 k, if weekend, how much notice usually works?
22:51 rue_shop2 ooo
22:51 armyofevilrobots Well, my parents are staying this weekend, so I am probably not doing much in the shop.
22:52 armyofevilrobots and Helen's parents on Tuesday/Wed. We might be able to do it any day on or after Wed.
22:52 armyofevilrobots this is a bit of an unusually busy week coming up.
22:52 rue_shop2 np
22:52 rue_shop2 this is quite a casual project
22:52 rue_shop2 I'm working on the frame, I'll probably be doing so for a week or more
22:52 armyofevilrobots for reference, I prefer the lexan. Easier to clean up after ;)
22:53 armyofevilrobots but we can do either.
22:53 rue_shop2 I'm gonna ponder the options
22:54 rue_shop2 tho I might have to seek more lexan, this is a bit large for the piece I seem to ahve left
22:54 armyofevilrobots What are the actual dimensions?
22:54 rue_shop2 10cmx32cm
22:58 rue_shop2 shield sells scrap lexan for cheap, they cant use the lexan scraps
23:06 rue_shop2 armyofevilrobots, ooh I have some HDPE you might like...
23:06 rue_shop2 anyhow, suppertime
23:07 theBear hehe supper, crazy foreigners
23:14 armyofevilrobots That's teeny tiny. Piece of cake.
23:15 armyofevilrobots rue_shop2: I'll have to check that out.
23:15 armyofevilrobots I like using lexan for mechanical stuff.
23:15 armyofevilrobots it's way nicer than acrylic, doesn't laser for crap though.
23:27 rue_house yea, it threads without going all acracnid on ya
23:40 rue_house I think
23:40 rue_house I think I finished my program...
23:41 DagoRed yay!
23:42 rue_house so if I have a 3000W heater at 120V
23:42 rue_house zippo:/files/programming/c/ohm# ./ohm -v 120 -p 3000
23:42 rue_house Wattage is: 3000.000000
23:42 rue_house Current is: 25.000000
23:42 rue_house Voltage is: 120.000000
23:42 rue_house Resistance is : 4.800000
23:43 rue_house 4.8 ohms
23:44 DagoRed not terrible
