00:13 GargantuaSauce not really...catching up on reorganizing/cleaning
00:14 GargantuaSauce it walks ok now though
00:14 GargantuaSauce jerkily because the control is offboard, but it works
00:14 MrCurious nice
00:14 MrCurious any vids of it online?
00:15 GargantuaSauce not till i do onboard control
00:15 GargantuaSauce or at least lerping
00:15 MrCurious lerping?
00:16 MrCurious i dont think i have ever lerped before
00:18 GargantuaSauce herp i am a lerp
00:18 GargantuaSauce linear interpolation
00:18 GargantuaSauce i guess the contraction is used almost exclusively in graphicsy circles
00:19 MrCurious now i see
00:39 GuShH GargantuaSauce: gamedev actually
00:40 GuShH tweening is what the graphic kids use as a term for anything relating "interpolation"
00:40 MrCurious Detaclad
00:40 GuShH wat
00:41 MrCurious a new aluminum alloy i just noticed
00:41 GuShH these home renovation shows are friggin bullshit
00:41 GuShH how come they make so much progress in a week
00:41 GuShH and they're a couple with no money and no clue as to what they're doing, allegedly
00:41 MrCurious no its not an alloy, its a process for welding steel and aluminum
00:42 MrCurious they cut out the borring painful bits
00:42 GuShH explosion welding
00:42 MrCurious i wonder how they do it with $3000 for a $30,000 job
00:42 GuShH it's got to be a lie
00:42 GuShH when the cameras aren't rolling the crew steps in
00:42 GuShH otherwise they must be on kilos and kilos of cocaine a day
00:43 GuShH "the hammer-drill broke down, but no problem I'll just use my hands" and in a few seconds he finished the bathroom.
00:48 GuShH MrCurious: are aluminum washers commonly available at hardware stores over there?
00:48 GuShH not the compression type (for oil sumps and such) but rather the same as steel washers, in alu.
00:48 MrCurious i think they are zink coated steel normally
00:48 MrCurious i think aluminum split ring are common
00:48 GuShH yeah that's all I can get, or the fancier ones with another type of coating and a bezel
00:49 GuShH yellowish, like the bolts
00:49 MrCurious but we made an inductancec cannon that shot aluminum washers in school, so they are available
00:49 GuShH if I wanted to make them on the lathe I would have to waste one washer per washer I wanted to part
00:49 GuShH that's how thick the blade is
00:50 GuShH a pneumatic hole punch with the right die would be ideal, using alu sheet
00:50 GuShH I have a hole punch but no die on this diameter
00:51 GuShH 1 inch
00:51 GuShH I think the only die I have is 34mm or so
00:51 GuShH maybe bigger
00:52 MrCurious ebay
00:52 GuShH can't ebay anymore
00:52 GuShH ask the president.
00:52 MrCurious why not
00:52 GuShH but anyway they are available, I just have to ask.
00:52 GuShH ASK THE CUNT IN CHARGE
00:53 MrCurious of ebay or argentinia
00:53 GuShH our ebay is not called ebay but it is said to be powered by ebay
00:53 GuShH it doesn't make sense.
00:53 MrCurious so order off of OUR ebay
00:53 GuShH that's the one I can't order from anymore.
00:53 GuShH new taxes new laws
00:54 MrCurious use a prozy
00:54 GuShH FOR WASHERS?
00:54 MrCurious proxy?
00:54 GuShH found a guy that sells them by the kilogram, minimum order 10 kilograms
00:54 GuShH >_>
00:54 MrCurious perfect
00:54 MrCurious order 10kg, use the 4 you need
00:54 MrCurious then make a washer gun to shoot the rest
00:56 GuShH tempting... but no thanks
00:57 MrCurious could cut squares of alum sheet, drill center, then turn the edges round...
00:57 GuShH too much work
00:57 GuShH asking these guys if they can make other sizes
00:58 GuShH I think the most commonly available ones are for car and motorcycle engines...
00:58 GuShH but they are not the compression type, I wonder if that's what they use here
00:58 GuShH just a plain washer
00:59 GuShH would explain why so many cars leak oil, they either fail to replace the washer or they use the wrong type
00:59 GuShH nasty shit when it rains.
00:59 MrCurious hmmm
01:11 GuShH "Samsung Mv900" what a stupid idea.
01:12 Curious looks for cheap sources of
01:12 GuShH cutting boards
01:12 MrCurious blinks
01:13 GuShH I can actually source those materials rather cheapily
01:13 MrCurious briliant
01:13 GuShH including delrin and ptfe
01:13 GuShH but meh.
01:13 rue_bed uh
01:13 GuShH ordered a small delrin rod from the alu supplier, we'll see about the quality.
01:13 GuShH I might want to have other sizes in stock
01:14 rue_bed http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/tutorials/mech/p1010110.jpg
01:14 GuShH there are things I would rather not machine out of metal due to the time it takes
01:14 rue_bed ^^^ pvc
01:14 GuShH but what did you do with them?
01:14 MrCurious http://www.cateringfiresale.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=UPDCB-610&Click=85092
01:14 rue_bed the plate?
01:14 GuShH yeah
01:14 MrCurious to hold the non captive end of the lead screw
01:15 GuShH for me it's cheaper to buy the uhmw in bulk than as little cutting boards
01:15 GuShH not accounting for the shipping though
01:15 GuShH MrCurious: why not teflon?
01:15 GuShH other than cost
01:15 MrCurious teflon come in 1/2" thickness
01:15 GuShH it's even expensive without loads
01:16 GuShH not really... I guess your supplier sucks.
01:17 GuShH I can get up to 50mm thick out of the regular supplier, but I think they can get you even thicker stuff on request
01:17 GuShH however it's too expensive
01:19 GuShH MrCurious: if I'm picturing it right... the cutting board is your cheapest alternative, plus readily available
01:19 MrCurious http://www.ebay.com/itm/231100842319?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
01:19 GuShH and I bet it's the same grade stuff anyway
01:20 GuShH "Parts are a little dirty and a few have some pen marks on them" lol
01:21 MrCurious http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50153123/
01:21 MrCurious guess ikea is in my future
01:21 MrCurious i will spend $3, and wife will spend more
01:21 GuShH on things you don't really need or want
01:21 GuShH aww it's raining again
01:22 GuShH that's too thin though
01:22 GuShH possibly silicone or similar
01:23 MrCurious i can source UHMW locally for $30 a piece... o $5 worth on ebay seems smarter
01:24 GuShH stoner tools http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-6061-T6511-ALUMINUM-SOLID-ROUND-ROD-BAR-12-long-NEW-Lathe-Stock-/350792267641?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51acd93779
01:24 MrCurious i have ordered from them
01:24 GuShH kinda expensive
01:25 GuShH the rod at least
01:25 MrCurious thought you couldnt use the ebayz
01:25 GuShH I can't buy without having to pay extra fees and worry about customs sticking the bar up my arse
01:25 GuShH so not anymore.
01:25 MrCurious of cource, i could always use a 1/2" id bearing
01:26 GuShH http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-1-2-1-500-Delrin-Acetal-Black-Round-Bar-Rod-12-Length/170708261527?_trksid=p2047675.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555003%26algo%3DPW.CAT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D18776%26meid%3D2945780654576559946%26pid%3D100010%26prg%3D8532%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D271178072554%26
01:26 GuShH also a bit pricey
01:26 GuShH what turns delrin black anyway? carbon?
01:26 GuShH so is it slightly conductive?
01:26 GuShH or not at all
01:27 GuShH teflon based on the load can be slightly conductive, but those are loads meant to aid in lubrication or other aspects where galvanic isolation is not a must
01:28 GuShH or paramount...
01:28 GuShH I think Mr Stoner Tools sells scrap aluminum
01:28 GuShH off cuts...
01:32 GuShH MrCurious: this is what we have for an ebay... http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA-480974388-barras-en-delrin-_JM
01:35 Curious chuc
01:35 MrCurious time for bed
01:35 GuShH watching miss universe... they're all ugly or it's just me? except a few
02:09 GuShH Tom_itx: the center bits do exactly what I need leaving no burrs behind, chamfered hole clean on the inside and outside (unless I exceed the depth)
02:09 GuShH on the 3mm tubing
02:10 GuShH err counter-sunk
02:10 GuShH it's certainly faster than using regular bits and then going over them with a countersink (or a bigger bit) and then grinding off the inside diameter to remove the burrs (reamer would've been ideal) still too much work, plus center bits of this size are not terribly expensive.
07:22 GuShH rue_house: is the timing belt on your lathe a T5?
08:32 rue_bed I"ll find out this afternoon
15:45 mumptai moin
16:23 ace4016 ahoy mumptai
20:13 ablegreen the number of wires total in the right picture is 3 right? http://sub.allaboutcircuits.com/images/02465.png
20:23 MrCurious http://msnvideo.msn.com/?channelindex=6&from=en-us_msnhp#/video/e6f40039-7286-4b84-b85f-bb0dedcdb8b0
21:53 rue_house I cant wait till they dont require a room with an overhead camera
21:53 Jak_o_Shadows I remember seeing one that did it through photodiodes and leds on either side of the table
21:54 rue_house $20 shipping
21:57 Jak_o_Shadows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFAfwtsxarU . Long full of sponsors advertising, but no camera
21:58 rue_house one of the sensors died on my boiler
