00:17 orlok MrCurious: Which? Theres a Mac Pro in the garage here
00:17 orlok Its a G5
00:24 MrCurious this one is a 16 core xenon
00:24 MrCurious duall lgraphics, 4k output + dual hdmi
00:25 MrCurious 2tb ssd in raid 0
00:25 MrCurious it had some sick hardware, and a premium price tag
00:33 orlok grr.
00:33 katsmeow-afk Two emergency warnings have been declared in the Hunter, for separate fires burning at Minmi and Dudley.
00:33 orlok Thats where my family was from originally
00:34 orlok Hunter Valley, well known for wine
00:45 MrCurious apparently the 2 oarfish who beached here in the past week are not a good omen
00:47 katsmeow-afk dying from the sewage being pumped off Monteray?
00:49 MrCurious they live like 5k meters beow surface
00:49 MrCurious 20 washed ashore in the month before fukishema
00:51 katsmeow-afk and 2 since
00:54 MrCurious DOOMED
00:58 tsmeow-afk wonders when humans will begin running large pipes inland from the ocean to decentralised desalination plants, and giant emergency sprinkler sys
01:02 katsmeow-afk surely a 12" pipe at 100psi being fed from both ends, a mile long, with 1" and 2" "sprinklers" along it's length, would put such a huge volume of water on a dry forest/grassland that the fire will be stopped, or at least beat down so firefighters can squash it
01:03 katsmeow-afk turn it on 30 minutes before the fire gets there
01:03 Faek Where does katsmeow-afk live?
01:03 katsmeow-afk make a 100ft wide swath of forest/grass/brush all soggy, and keep it soggy
01:03 rue_house I expressed an idea is steel and plastic today
01:03 katsmeow-afk alaforkingbama, usa :-(
01:04 rue_house origionally someone elses idea, but I recreated it in my own way
01:04 katsmeow-afk you what?
01:04 Faek So not some tiny country
01:04 katsmeow-afk Faek, but equally backwards in many ways
01:05 katsmeow-afk huge areas of usa and Oz burn every year, often the same area burns every 5-10 yrs
01:06 katsmeow-afk both countries are surrounded by ocean
01:06 orlok yeah, and its designed to burn
01:06 katsmeow-afk so feed desalinators when not fighting fires, and in an emergyncy use plain ocean water
01:07 katsmeow-afk in many such places fresh water is rare also
01:07 katsmeow-afk so the piping solves two problems
01:08 Faek And then what happens to all the undergrowth, debris, etc?
01:09 katsmeow-afk what do you mean?
01:10 Faek You've got all your leaf litter and shit that burns,
01:10 Faek Should note, not something i've looked into at all
01:11 orlok I need to get a decent ladder to clean the gutter
01:11 katsmeow-afk you know in the usa, prescribed burns to burn off forest litter are known to kill people and destroy homes and businesses?
01:11 katsmeow-afk orlok, you need a decent robot to clean the gutter
01:11 orlok I dont think theres any way to clean the rear gutters without climbing on the roof
01:12 katsmeow-afk drop a robot into the gutter, it tosses the leaves out, problem solved
01:12 orlok yeah, or a robot
01:12 orlok Theres small shrubs growing from some of tyhem.
01:13 tsmeow-afk waves gn
20:56 MrCurious that is just the tiniest ddual motor carrier i have ever seen!
20:57 theBear where ? i can't see it !\
20:58 MrCurious http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/2135
20:58 MrCurious 1 digital pin for direction, 1 pwm pin for speed
20:59 MrCurious seems a nice elegant solution
21:00 MrCurious should be great for a zoomer re-wiring
21:02 MrCurious theBear: no commentss?
21:03 theBear busy in other channel, lemme find where it loaded
21:04 theBear oh i remember, the stupid wind in the trees crashed the proxy by filling up the hd with false-trigger security cam recordings :)
21:05 orlok hah
21:05 MrCurious heh
21:06 theBear getting a little too common, i really should archive the 'worth checking later' and worth keeping stuff, or just ya know, get a hd in there that is a size you could buy sometime in THIS century
21:07 MrCurious rolling buffer
21:07 theBear that's got it
21:07 theBear oooh, so cute !
21:07 MrCurious wish i would have opted for them for my robot arms
21:07 theBear nah, while i'm not as 'paranoid' as others in the motion sensing/recording channel, if it decides to record it's always worth checking why
21:08 MrCurious sounds like a job for a simplecv vision analysis program
21:08 theBear grr, it bugs me when websites assume everyone knows how big american coins are
21:09 theBear ooh, or i could just read the measurements on the very same image, woops
21:09 MrCurious i know where you can order a referencec set
21:09 MrCurious there should be a size commparison image somewhere on the net
21:09 MrCurious like the one i use to work out how big canadian coins are
21:10 theBear that does look nice, but i assumed you meant stepper driver when you mentioned it, that setup isn't THAT special for a multi-half-bridge kinda driver really, just kinda, what you end up with when you build the circuit
21:10 theBear setup/control(/pins) approach
21:11 MrCurious yup
21:11 MrCurious for me though ,cheap, small
21:11 MrCurious and minimal lpwm pin use
21:12 theBear mmm, not saying that stops it being a cool tiny thing to get the job done, whole damned board is probably smaller than a l297 chip alone, not even counting the pins :)
21:22 MrCurious *nod*
21:28 any17221465 someone was talking about TIP41 in here days ago : 50 PCS TIP41C TO-220 TIP41 NPN Power Transistors ; $8.65 Free shipping ; http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-PCS-TIP41C-TO-220-TIP41-NPN-Power-Transistors-/400574556778
