01:08 MrCurious then again, the backlash would be insane with wood gears
01:46 MrCurious i thought i5 would be faster than this
01:47 R0b0t1 Bottleneck is usually not processor
01:47 MrCurious probably the hd4000 graphics
02:28 rue_bed my power went out
02:28 rue_bed I wonder how long the new ups will last..
02:51 rue_bed no warning beeps yet
02:52 RifRaf beep beep beep
02:52 rue_bed this is a big one, it only makes noise if its in trouble
02:53 RifRaf big one of what?
02:53 rue_bed ups, 5kw true sine
02:53 RifRaf did you get anywhere with the reprap on weekend?
02:53 rue_bed its output is actually cleaner than the mains power
02:53 rue_bed no
02:53 rue_bed today I dusted it off tho
02:53 RifRaf good good
02:54 rue_bed I have the generator half apart...
02:54 rue_bed told myself I shouldn't do that
02:54 RifRaf cut some more hardened rods to keep biulding next one this arvo
02:54 rue_bed drillrod?
02:54 RifRaf dunno, just very hard, cannot mark it with a hacksaw
02:55 rue_bed ah, then its hardened indeed
02:55 RifRaf ali express ones
02:55 rue_bed how much $?
02:55 RifRaf indeed, used the chop saw with some special disk at work, it gets through em pretty fast
02:55 RifRaf about $8 a rod, ordered some more this morning, there were 600mm but getting 400mm next, too much waste
02:56 rue_bed hmm
02:56 RifRaf keeping a few 600mm for when i make bigger unit
02:57 RifRaf think the 600 were about $12 each for 10mm x 600
02:57 RifRaf got 8mm ones bit cheaper
02:57 rue_bed I was also looking at the plotter parts I been keeping, full width plotter
02:57 rue_bed ah, that sounded like a hydro truck
02:57 RifRaf yep you should have some rods from printers that would be usable, i chucked all mine out last move
02:59 rue_bed yea, actually, funny enough, from the printers, they were EXACTLY the right lengths, less two, 2cm long
02:59 rue_bed which I thought interesting
02:59 rue_bed that printer rods fit perfectly
02:59 rue_bed wow, modified sine wave inverters are cheap
03:01 rue_bed ah, 3kw, 48V power supply, thats what I'm looking for
03:03 rue_bed http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-Eltek-power-Flatpack2-48v-241119-100-Output-53-5V-56-1A-3000W-/151058528261?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item232bca3805
03:04 rue_bed as I'm in a power outage, I need to use irc to scribble down some links
03:05 rue_bed http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-3000W-48V-Power-Supply-P-N-226519-001-Spare-P-N-253232-001-/171108811455?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27d6e142bf
03:05 rue_bed tom, could I ship ^ via you?
03:08 rue_bed yay! power is back
03:08 rue_bed 45 mins
03:08 rue_bed I think
03:09 e_bed deletes the shutdown command to the other mac
03:14 RifRaf i might vapour treat a whole set of printed parts for next reprap
03:15 RifRaf make it all shiny
03:16 rue_bed I'm interested to know if it makes them shivel and crack after a while
03:16 RifRaf no they are vert robust, have some a few months old now and they feel so strong
03:16 RifRaf less prone to cracking because it melts all the joins
03:16 Jak_o_Shadows I am going to open up my cheap dmm and see if it has serial out
03:17 theBear hmm, interesting idea
03:17 theBear my god that leeloo is stupid and assheaded for someone that appears capable of doing stuff
03:18 Jak_o_Shadows haha
03:26 Jak_o_Shadows Hmm. The chip is covered in a blob
03:27 Jak_o_Shadows all the pins are nicely broken out though.
03:39 theBear oh damned stupid sober brain ! it wasn't even leeloo this time
03:40 theBear but ya know, THIS time... i don't bother insulting people until they messed up more than a few times :)
07:48 GuShH RifRaf: ping
09:05 untivity is here for unknown rea
09:05 GuShH ubuntivity: #ubuntu
09:05 ubuntivity Hello GuShH :)
09:06 ubuntivity What program do you use for draft-designing robots?
09:06 GuShH I don't design robots and it's highly irrelevant which program one uses as long as one is competent.
09:07 GuShH what I like you may dislike.
09:07 ubuntivity You don't design? And I was just looking for a competent program..
09:07 GuShH for rough work anyway I use C4D which isn't a real CAD package, but that's why it's so rapid for quick ideas.
09:07 GuShH there are no competent programs!
09:07 ubuntivity lol!
09:08 ubuntivity Is the C4D free?
09:08 GuShH only bug riddled chunks of compiled code.
09:08 GuShH no. sorry
09:08 ubuntivity So I'm all alone with my scissors and cardboards?!
09:08 GuShH try freecad or.. whatever.
09:08 GuShH pen and paper works.
09:08 ubuntivity I tried LibreCad, seems unreliable
09:08 GuShH as is freecad or whatever is called
09:08 GuShH I crashed it 3 times in an hour
09:09 GuShH doing basic operations
09:09 ubuntivity Looking for qCad3 now..
09:09 GuShH no opensource software can compete with industrial tools.
09:09 GuShH but even solidworks can crash on an unreliable system
09:09 ubuntivity It is stable here, but somewhat dumb!
09:09 GuShH because it's open
09:09 ShH g
09:09 ubuntivity There are no clear options
09:09 GuShH these are not the droids you're looking for.
09:09 untivity is a supporter of OpenSourc
09:10 GuShH if it's free and open why must one support it with money?
09:10 GuShH then it's not free, fuck it.
09:10 GuShH might as well buy the real thing and get real support from real people
09:10 ubuntivity I don't support with money, only with opinions :D
09:10 GuShH not some acne riddled fat kid in his mom's basement
09:10 GuShH I SAY.
09:10 GuShH that's worth almost nothing!
09:10 GuShH any idiot has opinions, look at facebook or youtube
09:11 GuShH "like" who the flying hell cares if you liked a video or a picture, who gives a crap about what colour the toilet paper is in the restaurant stall you're on, why does twitter even exist!
09:11 ubuntivity So.. are you referring to someone?!
09:11 GuShH only everyone using social media in general.
09:11 ubuntivity LOL!
09:12 ubuntivity By the way, Acne isn't bad
09:12 GuShH mostly retards. if you had a life you wouldn't be spending countless hours in those sites, right?
09:12 GuShH I don't know, I only had a mild case of acne.
09:12 GuShH very mild.
09:12 GuShH I think a lot of it has to do with your diet.
09:12 ubuntivity I had a severe one
09:12 ubuntivity Genetics and stress mostly
09:13 GuShH it's a stereotype
09:13 GuShH don't analyze it.
09:13 GuShH just like germans ought to be into weird fetish sex.
09:14 GuShH or mexicans all being wetbacks?
09:14 GuShH I don't know, all stereotypes are cruel but they have a hint of truth
09:14 ubuntivity Sometimes they are mere statistics..
09:14 GuShH most statistics are a lie though
09:14 ubuntivity Exactly
09:14 ShH sh
09:14 GuShH you can design and build robots with or without acne anyway
09:15 ubuntivity translate:shrug
09:15 GuShH unless it's so bad you can't see
09:15 GuShH bbl
09:15 ubuntivity LOL!
09:15 ubuntivity It was severe that I wake up somedays with bleeding face!
09:15 ubuntivity I used various forms of treatment
09:15 ubuntivity but dermatologists said it would pass by time
09:15 ubuntivity and it did Thank God
09:16 ubuntivity Stress seemed to be the main cause, don't know why I get stressed so easily and deeply!
10:09 GuShH ubuntivity: don't say that
10:09 GuShH I may be compelled to stress you to the point where your face would literally explode with acne.
10:10 GuShH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_-n7_GZ2G8 something like this...
11:56 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.dyndns.org:81/~webpage/why/RR_index.php
12:41 GargantuaSauce whelp
12:41 GargantuaSauce just tried testing out a circuit before populating an ic socket
12:41 GargantuaSauce that didn't work so well
12:48 zap0 lol
13:01 SquirrelCZECH fu
13:01 SquirrelCZECH why did I buyed
13:01 SquirrelCZECH 0.5mm^2 thick cable
13:01 SquirrelCZECH for PWM?
13:01 SquirrelCZECH P.S: 2m long
13:43 MrCurious miley cyrus... were those teddy bears, or pedo-bears...
13:54 SquirrelCZECH did somebody called me?
13:54 SquirrelCZECH oh :-)
13:55 GargantuaSauce http://i.imgur.com/MaqKeCk.gif this is the entirety of which that discussion needs to consist
13:56 ace4016 lmao
13:58 MrCurious oh my
13:58 MrCurious you have just put me off of granny hookers for ever...
13:58 MrCurious having trouble un-seeing that
13:58 ace4016 granny hookers? that hooker is like 20
13:58 ace4016 :P
13:59 MrCurious and that brings todays lunch to a abruppt close
13:59 MrCurious my lunch is going autonomous.
14:02 ace4016 lol
15:57 KongfuPanda hello peoplez :)
16:32 MrCurious1 some days come with very little to no joy
16:35 Tom_itx aww poor MrCurious1
16:35 MrCurious1 sounds like your day is bublbing over with joy
16:35 Tom_itx naw i'm just used to the depression
16:37 Tom_itx did you see my why page?
16:38 MrCurious1 a while bck
16:38 MrCurious1 back
16:40 Tom_itx not that while back, i just put it up today
16:43 MrCurious1 well, that was a non-intuitive interfacec
16:44 MrCurious1 hmmm failed
16:44 MrCurious1 then again we have a caching proxy that always fails first load
16:45 MrCurious1 there is a lot here tom... want to refine what i should focus on
16:46 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.dyndns.org:81/~webpage/why/RR_index.php
16:46 Tom_itx not on the menu
16:46 Tom_itx i just thought it was comical
16:48 MrCurious1 page makes me wonder if we had 12' wide, 4' high train cars on 12' appart tracks, if we would have so many accidents
16:50 MrCurious1 hah
16:54 MrCurious1 tom... http://www.snopes.com/history/american/gauge.asp
16:54 MrCurious1 myth
17:12 Tom_itx but it gave you something to do
17:29 MrCurious1 wow acer just wow
17:30 MrCurious1 because 12 steps down the path i want to install linux, you wont tell me how to get around a bios bug that refuses to let the machine stay in AHCI mode
17:40 MrCurious1 tech support induces rage. there should be a pre-tech-support pill to take to shield your blood presure
17:40 ace4016 there is
17:40 ace4016 it's called THC
17:41 MrCurious1 doesn't that make you fall in love with the support, marry them, and live with the stupid for all of eternity?
17:42 MrCurious1 one of these days, i think i will have a go at support just for fun ,with no end goal
17:42 MrCurious1 perhaps start a game. compete to see how many email exchanges one can get with them before they stop it
17:43 MrCurious1 llike the game one plays with phone window salesmen before letting them mknow you live in an apartment
17:47 Tom_itx or door salesmen
17:47 MrCurious1 need to formalize the rulles to this game
17:47 Tom_itx let them go as far as taking measurements then inform them you will pass the information on to your landlord
17:52 MrCurious1 rules for the game should be formalized
17:58 Tom_itx rule 1:
17:58 Tom_itx There are no rules
17:58 Tom_itx Rule 2:
17:58 Tom_itx Refer to rule 1
18:28 GuShH MrCurious1: actually tech support is "by idiots for idiots"
18:28 GuShH idiots call, idiots answer. with few exceptions
18:29 GuShH but in a nutshell, it's like facebook.
18:29 MrCurious1 yeah
18:29 GuShH exceptions: having to call them to get the email or number of someone who actually knows / is in charge
18:29 MrCurious1 somewhere in india, some tech support stooge is reading my email saying things not meant for my ear
18:30 GuShH I don't think they care
18:30 GuShH or know anything at all.
18:30 MrCurious1 thats why i asked for escalation
18:30 GuShH they just follow the guidelines, a mere script / bot could do their job
18:30 MrCurious1 either way, not their problem anymore
18:30 MrCurious1 hmmmm
18:30 MrCurious1 i should write a tech support bot
18:30 GuShH HMmmm but people need to hear other people.
18:30 MrCurious1 (with an accent)
18:31 GuShH as for chats, I believe a lot of them are currently bots
18:31 GuShH darn it, turns out the bondo I have expired 2 years ago
18:32 GuShH it's not quite drying and it's thicker
18:32 MrCurious1 talk about the bond that cant be broken
18:32 MrCurious1 add in a thinning agent
18:32 GuShH like what?
18:32 MrCurious1 touline?
18:32 GuShH I could add more catalyst but that makes things worse
18:33 MrCurious1 acetone
18:33 GuShH it's like an oily substance they add
18:33 MrCurious1 gasoline
18:33 GuShH it often floats on top of the can after months
18:33 GuShH it's not a paint!
18:34 GuShH at any rate... we'll see if it's dry tomorrow
18:34 Tom_itx it won't be
18:34 ShH frowns at Tom
18:34 MrCurious1 perhaps if you heat it it may flow better
18:34 GuShH it's already applied.
18:35 MrCurious1 WILL IT BLEND!
18:35 GuShH currently adding a power socket outside... I'm always missing something, this time an adapter for the conduit and the outlet housing...
18:35 GuShH (they don't match)
18:36 GuShH plus I used plastic conduit inside galvanized tubing, because I didn't want the blue conduit exposed.
18:37 GuShH I know I could've used underground cable instead, but I'm using what I have!, this stuff is rather old, feels like romex...
19:37 Tom_itx GuShH got those tailstock camlock links still?
19:47 GuShH Tom_itx: not sure
19:47 GuShH only one http://bedair.org/9x20camlock/9x20project.html
19:54 GuShH that's the most relevant to my lathe so I had it bookmarked.
19:54 Tom_itx thanks
20:15 blackhole Hi, I need a little bit of help. I have a manual A.C. installed in my home, it has manual button to control temprature which can be rotated left/right. I was thinking about building something that will be automatecally do be able to move. Can anyone suggest me any such devices I should look for. Then I can make it connect using wifi to beaglebone which can be controlled using Iphone App..
20:16 blackhole Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
20:21 rue_mohr heh, I have to find a plug for the drill so I can drill a hole in the genorator
20:34 yahweh Hey Rue
20:34 yahweh Answer your phone
20:34 yahweh :p
20:45 blackhole Hi, I need a little bit of help.
20:45 blackhole Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
20:47 MrCurious1 a servo should have the torque and rotation required to turn a thermostat
21:01 blackhole MrCurious1: Hey Thanks for replying, servo seems like it can serve my purpose but I have an AC which is similar to one shown here --> http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/08/46/91/23/0008469123967_500X500.jpg. It has the Switch, I don't want to take switch out and then connect servo to the hook but would like to connect something which can directly connect over top of Switch and rotate like I do it manually..
21:03 GuShH blackhole: repeat your silly question agan and I'll shove the entire AC unit up your piehole!
21:03 GuShH is the "temperature knob" a mere bimetal thermostat?
21:03 GuShH if you don't know, at least find out.
21:04 blackhole GuShH: Fuck off man, I am asking something if you can't answer be quiet please. Temp knob is just a switch like the one I showed in image.
21:05 GuShH First of all, you are being an ungrateful brat, secondly I could answer, but you don't deserve to be helped
21:05 GuShH your kind deserves nothing else than aids.
21:06 GuShH it's not just a "switch", you are way over your head, go set it on max and come back once you've cooled off.
21:07 blackhole GuShH: ok, I don't care how it internally works. All I want to do is simply connect something over top of it which can automatecally rotate it. I don't have that much understanding of underlying hardware
21:18 MrCurious1 thermostats are just on off switches
21:18 MrCurious1 a relay and a temp sensor controled by an avr or beagle would do it better than a motor based solution as he says
21:18 MrCurious1 just pay mind that the fail condition is not FAIL HOT
21:19 MrCurious1 i had a thermostat thatwhen batteries died, it failed hot
21:21 GuShH MrCurious1: redundancy!
21:21 blackhole MrCurious1: Thanks I don't think I understood all of what you said. It's ofcourse not on/off switches. It's something which can be rotated to increase/decrease temp. I think anything that can be mounted over that switch (which currently controls temp on rotation) and can rotate automatecally (controlled using beagle) will be fine for me.
21:22 MrCurious1 as you rotate the spring coil
21:22 MrCurious1 well, as you rotate the dial
21:22 MrCurious1 it rotates a coil inside with a glass jar with mercury on it
21:22 blackhole MrCurious1: Ahh ok..
21:22 GuShH not all thermostats are like that, that's ancient.
21:22 MrCurious1 at certian set temp points, the mercury slushes to the other side
21:22 MrCurious1 thats a switch
21:22 GuShH and banned.
21:22 MrCurious1 the coil is a temp sensing device (mechanical)
21:23 MrCurious1 DO NOT DRINK MERCURY
21:23 blackhole lol
21:23 MrCurious1 had the feeling i had to say that
21:23 GuShH he probably has
21:23 MrCurious1 so the interesting test is can you take some aligator clip wires
21:23 MrCurious1 and short that mercury switch
21:23 rue_mohr yahweh oh, phone again
21:23 MrCurious1 or just rotate and observe
21:23 GuShH assumptions
21:24 GuShH for one, you now help assholes greater than me?
21:24 blackhole GuShH: Will you please shut up?
21:24 GuShH you must be really bored
21:24 MrCurious1 dont worry GuShH you will always be my favorite asshole
21:24 Tom_itx they exhist?
21:24 GuShH blackhole: you get to shut up boy
21:24 GuShH To prove it, I won't correct your spelling mistake.
21:24 MrCurious1 i was looking at ebay servos when he asked
21:25 MrCurious1 you wont? YOU LOVE ME!
21:25 MrCurious1 all be it a sick and unnatural love that cannot be spoken of...
21:25 GuShH If you and Tom_itx are the same person...
21:25 Tom_itx i am my own person
21:25 GuShH how can we tell?
21:26 Tom_itx see if he can op himself?
21:26 Curious1 sque
21:26 Curious1 w
21:26 Curious1 o
21:26 ShH fr
21:26 m_itx watches a tird fall
21:26 MrCurious1 nope. cant
21:26 MrCurious1 i want a harmonic drive gear, and i want it under $50
21:27 MrCurious1 a nice flex sspline one
21:27 Tom_itx good luck with that
21:27 MrCurious1 your not giving it to me, give it to me faster
21:27 GuShH MrCurious1: It's most likely a bi-metallic thermostat, ask him if he hears a "click" from the assembly on one position (not a relay or a contactor, the actual strips touching - with the unit disconnected)
21:27 blackhole MrCurious1: See I really don't want to worry about removing or shorting that mercury switch. All I want to do is simply be able to not open my AC (not pull any switch component out of it) and simply mount something over the head of dial which rotates it. Will relay and servo help?
21:27 GuShH MrCurious1: It's time I told you... robotustra trolled you about harmonic drive gears. Sorry.
21:27 MrCurious1 take pictures of unit
21:27 MrCurious1 ideally with no cover
21:28 MrCurious1 post them somewhere that the local einsteins can see them
21:28 GuShH nakid pics
21:28 MrCurious1 receive gumballs of advice
21:28 GuShH not likely
21:28 blackhole MrCurious1: Hmm, Sorry I can't open the cover.
21:28 MrCurious1 i would call that a cconstraint
21:28 blackhole MrCurious1: hmm
21:28 MrCurious1 ok, pictures of the thermostat wearing a cover
21:29 GuShH it's easier if you find the service manual, dummy
21:29 blackhole MrCurious1: http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/08/46/91/23/0008469123967_500X500.jpg
21:29 MrCurious1 or a part number
21:29 blackhole MrCurious1: This is how it looks, I can't open anything..
21:29 MrCurious1 oh
21:29 MrCurious1 its a window ac unit
21:29 GuShH you find the actual make and model, you find the actual service manual, you get to see what's inside.
21:29 blackhole yes
21:30 Curious1 smells a rube goldberg machine commin
21:30 Faek Woo!
21:30 MrCurious1 better disqualify me on this one... its starting to look fun
21:30 blackhole MrCurious1: See my point is simple. Can't i mount something over the dial which will rotate like i do it manually ...
21:30 ShH s
21:31 Faek You can get em for switches, but no idea for dials
21:31 blackhole MrCurious1: that way I don't have to open or worry about internal details about it, My device just talk to this rotating dialer.
21:31 MrCurious1 a servo would buy you 180 deg of rotation
21:31 MrCurious1 but would look like ass
21:31 rue_house yahweh, ok, I turned on the phone system, try now
21:31 MrCurious1 opening the device and hotwiring the sensor woulld be wy cleaner
21:32 blackhole MrCurious1: yes I looked at servo but it seems like it can't be mounted over dial. Yes may be that is way cleaner but I can't open this unit.
21:32 blackhole MrCurious1: I live in apartment and it belong to them, Don't want to damange anything.
21:32 blackhole belongs
21:33 MrCurious1 http://hackaday.com/2011/08/04/air-conditioner-regulation-using-a-hobby-servo/
21:33 MrCurious1 rule 37 applies to all hacks as well
21:33 MrCurious1 its a side effecct
21:34 MrCurious1 or was it rule 34
21:34 MrCurious1 i think 34
21:34 Faek Nah 60
21:34 Faek (60 is the gender swap by memory)
21:35 blackhole MrCurious1: That's kool, I will need to find some similar hack which can turn it
21:35 blackhole MrCurious1: Thanks
21:36 blackhole MrCurious1: what's that device called which turn over and pressed the On/Off button on remote shown in video link you gave?
21:37 MrCurious1 a servo
21:37 MrCurious1 the blue box with white arm
21:37 MrCurious1 $3 servo off ebay
21:37 MrCurious1 that is one option
21:37 MrCurious1 set ac for max
21:38 MrCurious1 then just have a switched wall plug to on off it
21:38 MrCurious1 as no sense powering it when the cooling is not on
21:38 blackhole hmm
21:38 MrCurious1 then you can code it to always have 20+ minutes off time to un-freeze lines when being cycled
21:39 MrCurious1 ii say that as our window ac's pull a hell of a load if you run em for days till they dont blow cold, then unplug and re-plug em
21:39 MrCurious1 they will pop a breaker
21:39 MrCurious1 i see what they did... using a ac wireless remote

21:40 MrCurious1 i think it was TMI
21:40 theBear all i remember is that one your father taught me dear, fmita
21:40 blackhole not really it's good..
21:40 blackhole thanks..
21:41 MrCurious1 thats a comercial....

21:41 MrCurious1 hilarious
21:41 MrCurious1 and likely someone here's password
21:41 MrCurious1 should add that to a crack dict
21:43 theBear silly, add the partials
21:44 theBear you'll never be a bruteforce king that way
21:46 MrCurious1 heh
21:57 MrCurious1 so.. GuShH is toying with a lathe. anyone else doing anything cool?
22:04 MrCurious1 ii poked at solr tutorials today
22:21 MrCurious1 anyone else hear war drums starting up?
22:26 MrCurious1 wonder if i can adapt this planetary gear box to a new motor
22:40 MrCurious1 lazy basturds
22:40 MrCurious1 make something
22:44 Faek I am eating lunch
22:44 MrCurious1 ok, thats productive
22:44 MrCurious1 carry on
22:49 GuShH damn gate motor got stuck and the manual key wouldn't budge, had to remove all four mounting bolts to slide the entire assembly off so I could move the gate by hand and lock it with a chain.... fuck sake, it's freezing outside!
22:49 GuShH will have to deal with that tomorrow
22:50 GuShH looks like some mechanical failure, not sure what.
22:50 theBear i'd say it's the gate motor that failed, mechanically <grin>
22:51 GuShH motor runs, after I removed the assembly the gear wasn't meshing anymore, so I could slide the gate... and then I tested the motor, it runs.
22:51 GuShH it had however switched off (thermal switch)
22:52 GuShH but that's all I could test, pulled a muscle so I can't deal with it now
22:52 GuShH they are relatively small motors, it's all in the gearbox...
22:52 GuShH seems like it has some play, but to access the gearbox I have to remove the motor from the top
22:53 GuShH funny enough yesterday I greased the entire rail and external gears.
22:53 GuShH so this wouldn't happen.
22:53 ShH s
22:54 GuShH theBear: it was however fully stuck, wouldn't budge in any way... how come it got in a bind like that?
22:54 GuShH weared down bushing or mounting of some gear that caused it to tilt and bind somehow? can't imagine something else
22:55 GuShH MrCurious: I haven't touched the lathe in a month, I think Tom_itx is toying with his. I was however priming the stand, in case you care.
22:55 GuShH little by little it's coming together.
22:55 theBear GuShH, i dunnjo, probly broken, mechanically :)
22:56 GuShH theBear: with no load it operated fine during the quick test though
22:56 GuShH (the entire assembly off gear)
22:56 GuShH that is, not meshing with the rack gear.
22:56 GuShH (not a fan of this type of system)
22:56 theBear hmm, worn bush or maybe worn gear
22:57 GuShH will inspect the pinion tomorrow, the grease wouldn't let me see plus it's cold and dark outside, did I mention that? heh
22:57 GuShH having chains and locks handy seems like a good idea.
22:58 GuShH will weld some doohickey so I can use a padlock directly on the gate, or two.. or three...
22:58 theBear you only mentioned cold
22:58 GuShH but you must know I'm about 12 hours off?
22:58 theBear mmm, every grown man needs locks and chains handy
22:58 theBear 12 hours off what ?
22:58 GuShH your time!
22:58 GuShH 12:43AM
22:59 GuShH sleepy time, should've went to bed a couple hours ago.
22:59 theBear oh that, 11 hours i guess, yeah, most people live in the past, not the now
22:59 ShH p
23:00 GuShH so in your time I already fixed the gate?
23:00 GuShH or did I fail trying to fix it
23:00 GuShH ..or would that only happen to flyback
23:00 theBear maybe, depends how lazy you were thismorning
23:01 GuShH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9SalJ-ohls the hell?
