00:03 rue_house RifRaf, whats the resolution at 30mm?
00:03 RifRaf as in steps?
00:04 rue_house mm/step
00:04 RifRaf will calculate
00:05 RifRaf 106.67 steps per mm
00:06 RifRaf lets get your printer going rue, wats the frist main issue?
00:10 RifRaf hrm ok, will keep making mine then
00:12 MrCurious 1 robot arm driver soldered up!
00:12 RifRaf robot arm? photos?
00:14 MrCurious RifRaf: http://www.flickr.com/photos/89612859@N04/sets/72157633649491054/
00:15 MrCurious no pics of the driver board. its just a iduino nano and 3 dual moter drivers on a radio shack breadboard
00:16 RifRaf did you buy those arms or make them yourself?
00:16 MrCurious bought
00:16 MrCurious then assembled
00:16 MrCurious then took apart to add in a hall effect sensor
00:16 RifRaf and they use geared dc motors
00:16 RifRaf ah ok, for feedback?
00:17 RifRaf neat
00:17 RifRaf i see it now
00:17 MrCurious teh hall is to count for possition
00:17 MrCurious for force feedback i plan to use a current draw sensor to monitor the pull for all 5 motors
00:18 MrCurious at same time. not as good as doing it for 1 at a time, but hey, it cuts the cost :D
00:18 RifRaf yep cool
00:19 RifRaf omg how much easier is getting a bearing off shaft with a bearing puller, had to get a new one today
00:20 MrCurious figures i unplug the iron, and i find more to solder
00:20 RifRaf have 3 new printed ballscrews, dunno what one to test with first, 12,16 or 30mm pitch for a Y axis
00:21 MrCurious 12
00:21 MrCurious accuracy counts
00:21 RifRaf the 15mm pitch was faster than i would print at so thinking 12mm for greater accuracy, i don't trust the 30mm pitch one alot
00:21 RifRaf yes my thoughts as well
00:22 RifRaf ok 12 it is, gotta clean it, printer today while i was at work
00:22 RifRaf printed*
00:23 MrCurious hmm need to work out how to use the current sensor now
00:31 MrCurious that was easy
00:33 RifRaf read the voltage with an adc?
00:35 MrCurious no
00:35 MrCurious well
00:35 MrCurious yes, it converts current used
00:35 MrCurious into a voltage between vcc/2 and vcc
00:35 GuShH he bought a shield that does it for him
00:35 MrCurious or 0 and vcc/2 for negative current
00:35 MrCurious yep. lovely 8pin chip
00:35 MrCurious decided be much more fun to program the robot than design a board i can buy for $3
00:36 GuShH you'll probably end up buying the program
00:36 ShH g
00:37 RifRaf yep i agree, $3 parts far cheaper than spending a week to make it
00:38 RifRaf got some nice little buck convertors today. 1.5V to 5V
00:38 GuShH except you might spend the week making the $3 part work the way you want it to
00:38 RifRaf another project for weekend
00:38 RifRaf too many things i want to make, a week means alot
