00:20 MrCurious :D
00:20 RifRaf no pecking though, just straight through at about 2mm/sec plunge
00:21 MrCurious remembered seeing about a cnc "pecking" hole drilling technique
00:21 MrCurious so i tried it
00:26 RifRaf i peck if its like a 20mm deep hole with a 3mm bit, to get crap out
00:27 MrCurious oh
00:27 MrCurious ok
00:35 Jak_o_Shadows For the circuit shown on http://www.adrirobot.it/zap_toys/RX_TX.pdf, page 9, just the h-bridge parts, I want to drive one of those transistors high and the other low, for each h-bridge?
00:37 Jak_o_Shadows I have 2 sets of those chips, but as they only send pretty simple stuff, i'm wondering what use they are.
01:40 rue_house http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1-Pc-SOP8-SO8-SOIC8-TO-DIP8-Adapter-PCB-SMD-Converter-Board-/300938555340
01:40 rue_house oooooo
02:04 joga ._o cheap..
02:08 Mr_Sheesh http://www.ebay.com/itm/300938555340 for us us-ers :)
02:42 rue_bed I canot find a 3 or 4 channel microphone mixer/preamp
02:43 RifRaf starting a band?
02:53 Gargantuasauce http://www.ebay.ca/itm/130953540878 rue_bed
02:54 Gargantuasauce look for the 802 too, it has 3 preamps
02:55 rue_bed hah, nono its for a board room confrence phone alternative
02:55 rue_bed so something without eq, just individual volumes, if that
02:56 rue_bed board room confrence phones are $800 - $1000
02:56 rue_bed at work the clients are willing to put out about $200 or they scrap their project
02:59 RifRaf Gargantuasauce, did you have the tripple extruder?
03:00 Gargantuasauce i do
03:00 Gargantuasauce didn't quiiite get it working right though
03:00 RifRaf ah cool, how is it going? made any more progress?
03:00 RifRaf ok
03:01 Gargantuasauce no, i'm in south korea now so not getting much stuff done in that regard
03:01 RifRaf interesting\
03:03 RifRaf rue_bed, how about your reprap? any closer to printing?
03:03 Gargantuasauce looks like they fixed at least a couple of the really fucking stupid bugs in the slave firmware though
03:03 Gargantuasauce so maybe it'll sort of work properly when i get back on it
03:05 RifRaf cool, maybe i will leave my multi extruder for a while, has been great just to be able to print things with a working unit
03:06 RifRaf have almost printed all the bits and projects i made the printer for
05:48 GuShh_ RifRaf: I've estimated one of those ripraps is hard to pay for these days...
05:49 GuShh_ there's almost nothing you can print, aside from parts for another unit (and put them up for sale) that can pay for the expense, so it's mostly a whim project
05:49 GuShh_ and the more time you invest into getting a better result, the more money you end up spending on it
05:50 GuShh_ Oh sorry it must be reprap, such a silly name it's hard to remember.
05:50 GuShh_ however the "rip" portion suits what happens to your wallet if you get carried away with it
06:15 GuShh_ theBear: one of "those" clients again... the type that thinks you live for them. I should come up with the perfect response for these assholes, but what could it be?
06:16 GuShh_ guy wants me to a) head over to his place b) perform the inspection c) quote on site d) probably serve him sugar cubes.
06:16 GuShh_ IM NOT AN IT GUY.
06:31 RifRaf GuShh_, well it took me just a few weeks to make it, and am making all sorts of stuff that i cannot machine other ways, so am happy with it
06:31 RifRaf just a few drops of oil to keep it running, making new gripper parts at moment
06:40 GuShh_ RifRaf: I don't know if you can't make some of those parts otherwise
06:40 GuShh_ ...or buy
06:40 GuShh_ so far it doesn't seem cost efficient
06:41 GuShh_ I'd like one, but it's a whim.
06:42 GuShh_ hi Skwint
06:42 RifRaf last weekend made an adapter so i can use compact camera with binoculars, i can't buy that or i woulda
06:42 Skwint lo
06:42 RifRaf is gonna take some awesome moon photos
06:42 GuShH RifRaf: I bet you could, but you could've also machined that
06:42 RifRaf i can't find these grippers anywhere
06:43 GuShH I can't find the machine mounts I want, doesn't mean they don't exist
06:43 RifRaf i did machine them, but these are better, and now can think more in 3d, so the gripper is evoling
06:43 RifRaf lets me make what i think that day, is very neat
06:43 GuShH depending on the binocular, lots already have an adapter you can buy
06:44 GuShH RifRaf: yes for prototyping I see the value in a way
06:44 GuShH but nothing else
06:44 RifRaf not these old ones, garage sale special
06:44 GuShH oh well, that's like wanting specific parts for a specific 1920s car
06:44 RifRaf well that means for me that always makes things it might just be usefull?
06:44 GuShH you have to make them yourself
06:44 GuShH RifRaf: I didn't say it wasn't useful
06:44 RifRaf i made a instrument cover for a 50's buick today :)
06:44 GuShH I say it doesn't feel cost effective and it's more of a whim at this point
06:45 RifRaf from plexi, tomorrow from 6mm ali
06:45 RifRaf had the get some special bits
06:45 RifRaf is a great whim
06:45 RifRaf hopefully i sell some frames
06:46 RifRaf have many sitting here, am too busy making things though :/
06:46 RifRaf learning all these new cad programs
06:47 RifRaf but learning is good, ima just a bit slower at it these days
06:47 GuShH Err a whim for "me" I don't know what other's motivations might be
06:48 GuShH I'd rather get a mill first, try to CNC it... than spend the money on a reprap.
06:48 RifRaf well you have a lathe that just sits there :/
06:48 RifRaf that a whim too?
06:48 GuShH dude!
06:48 GuShH No. I was welding all day long yesterday
06:48 GuShH And I had to stop, the electrode holder almost fell apart, they didn't stress relief the cable / lug
06:48 GuShH and it was soldered on, so it just broke in two.
06:49 GuShH Which meant I kept getting cold welds and I couldn't figure out why
06:49 RifRaf yep read you did some bad welds :)
06:49 GuShH only a few strands of copper were left
06:49 ShH s
06:49 GuShH It's not that hard. If your ground is good, it must be a bad electrode, if it's not the electrode, it has to be something with the machine....
06:49 GuShH Of course you can sit and reflect on things, but in reality the simplest problems get you
06:50 RifRaf the extra testure on these grippers seems to work ok when printed, i knew i would not print as drawn up so exagerated things
06:50 GuShH I keep the electrodes in a heated room, they're mostly 6013 so they don't require special ovens
06:50 RifRaf texture*
06:50 GuShH can't you obtain an actual model of what it would look like
06:51 RifRaf i see the model in sketchup when i make it
06:51 GuShH yes but that's not the output
06:51 RifRaf thats the easiest for this stuff thats inported from a 2d cad file
06:51 RifRaf oh i see the sliced stuff yep, but now i just put gcode on an sdcard, so just see what the lcd shows me
06:51 GuShH might be computational expensive but it's possible to draw bezier splines for each path and use a sweep nurbs with a circle spline to obtain the final model, if you had to do this you'd need to "bake" every N steps otherwise the amount of processor and memory required would be huge.
06:51 RifRaf not connected to pc, far more stable
06:52 GuShH yeah but slices are also not real output
06:52 RifRaf gcode is though
06:52 GuShH No, I mean you don't see the actual physical result
06:52 GuShH Which is comprised of filaments
06:52 GuShH and there's bound to be differences
06:53 RifRaf what do you mean? i do see a 3d version on pc
06:53 GuShH it's not what you get
06:53 GuShH the real output is not exactly as the 3D model
06:53 RifRaf its close, depends on speed an resolution
06:54 RifRaf when the printer is tuned things are rather accurate sir, i am so impressed, i design to the 0.1mm with it
06:55 GuShH RifRaf: and yet what you see is not what you get
06:55 RifRaf but i made alot of sharp points with this gripper, as a test, in the pic from last night the grippers had barely any gripping ability
06:55 GuShH there's a texture to it, as you've put it.
06:56 GuShH and that's why I asked, is there a "true" visualizer of the output
06:56 RifRaf well yes, the print job depends on your settings, the better they are the closer to the 'perfect' image on pc
06:56 RifRaf no, its as good as your printer is tuned and the speed and resolution you print
06:57 GuShH which also contradicts how good of a tool it is for prototyping
06:57 GuShH due to all the setup time involved.
06:57 GuShH and it's not just initial
06:57 GuShH it's like a baby.
06:58 RifRaf its as good as the driver, same as any tool
06:58 RifRaf i can imagine many home made printers being big failures
06:59 GuShH RifRaf: There's merit to it. I just haven't been convinced to put money aside for one yet
06:59 GuShH I'd much rather invest on solid tools, than something flimsy built at home right now
07:00 GuShH There are weasels selling them here, I believe.. for over 4 grand usd
07:00 RifRaf yep, i can send you a decent frame, makes all the difference
07:00 GuShH (the entire machines)
07:00 RifRaf and then its just an ebay thing like you found last week and some threaded rod
07:00 GuShH Nah I'm locked out of the world, this is like cuba now.
07:00 GuShH they use acme profile?
07:01 GuShH or something fancier
07:01 RifRaf metric
07:01 GuShH how do you deal with the backlash on a regular formed thread, without having to almost bind it
07:01 GuShH all software?
07:01 RifRaf the Z axis is M5 and the rest is M8 or M10
07:02 GuShH I was looking at the way mach3 deals with backlash on software, it's not very good
07:02 RifRaf its all is software, and i use good stainless for the Z,(up/down), the rest os the threaded rod is just holding stuff together
07:02 GuShH oh, so it was chosen for convenience, it's not part of the bed mechanism?
07:03 GuShH I'd rather use stainless rod and turn the threads then.
07:03 RifRaf its the smooth rod and bearings that do the rest, with toothed belts and pulleys for the calculations on the X ans Y
07:03 RifRaf yes i use all stainless
07:03 Tom_itx is it possible to 'black anodize' stainless?
07:03 GuShH I found a place that sells formed stainless threaded rods, but I'm not impressed
07:03 Tom_itx or some other blackening process
07:04 ShH has almost no experience working with stainless, other than cutting it... with specific stainless discs, as to not contaminat
07:04 RifRaf GuShH, correct, only in the Z axis do things move on threaded rod, but you can you a leadscrew if you desire
07:04 RifRaf its not required though
07:04 GuShH Tom_itx: gun blueing?
07:04 GuShH I wonder if that works
07:04 GuShH is it a small part or a big plate
07:05 Tom_itx medium size parts
07:05 GuShH ok a quick search says it won't work
07:05 GuShH (hot blueing)
07:05 GuShH still leaves the chemical blueing
07:06 GuShH they sell patinas...
07:07 GuShH Tom_itx: just for looks?
07:07 Tom_itx http://www.epi.com/c/black-oxide?gclid=CJKwwcDKyrgCFUxo7AodnREA5Q
07:07 Tom_itx yes
07:08 GuShH http://pistolsmith.com/workshop/16358-home-blackening-stainless-steel-1911-parts.html
07:08 GuShH ok that turned into a gun knowledge showoff for the first responses....
07:08 GuShH http://www.birchwoodcasey.com/Finishing/FinishingDetails.aspx?ProductID=0790cc91-b2e8-488d-a6fa-8820790beefb
07:09 GuShH That's what the guy used... on stainless...
07:09 GuShH not terribly expensive for the small bottle
07:11 GuShH Hmm whadoya know... you can cast stainless steel, that's new for me.
07:12 Tom_itx seems shipping is more than the product
07:12 GuShH Sorry
07:13 ShH likes stainless steel just the way i
07:13 GuShH http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=birchwood+casey+aluminum+black&_nkwusc=birchwoodcasey+aluminum+black&_rdc=1
07:15 GuShH sells like bread
07:16 GuShH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXGSV1pwMnE look at that moustache!
07:16 GuShH it's like a hairy carrot
07:16 GuShH THAT TALKS
07:16 GuShH That's one shitty stand I did not design.
07:17 GuShH Needs more steel.
07:18 GuShH This is one of those rebranded common chemicals I bet.
07:18 GuShH He mentions "acid"
07:24 GuShH from another process... " alkaline aqueous salt solution operated at approximately 285 degrees F. The reaction between the iron of the ferrous alloy and the hot oxide bath produces a magnitite (Fe3 O4) on the actual surface of the part. "
07:25 GuShH sounds like a question for #chemistry
07:30 Jak_o_Shadows I would've thought it had soemthign to do with the chromium
07:33 GuShH Jak_o_Shadows: bah I've never been into chemistry!
07:33 GuShH only a bit
07:37 GuShH Jak_o_Shadows: why cheap welders are cheap http://gushh.net/tmp/dscn3817f.jpg
07:37 GuShH "now there's yer problem!"
07:38 GuShH also the shroud becomes loose due to the silly grub-screw which is the only thing keeping it in place
07:38 Jak_o_Shadows Um, that's the ground clamp. If that connection was dodgy, you wouldn't be able to keep an arc up
07:38 GuShH time to either improve it with new leads, holder, etc. or live with it and get something better later on.
07:38 GuShH that's not ground
07:39 GuShH that's the electrode holder
07:39 Jak_o_Shadows Oh, different style to what i've used
07:39 GuShH ground is just a regular clamp.
07:39 Jak_o_Shadows either way.
07:39 GuShH either way you get cold joints
07:39 GuShH and you wonder why until you see that.
07:39 GuShH quick twist and the cable fell off after that picture was taken
07:40 ShH snic
07:45 GuShH Jak_o_Shadows: here's a test weld for ya http://gushh.net/tmp/dscn3822f.jpg although rebar sucks (you never know what's in the "steel" they use) at least it's good for tests.
07:46 GuShH oh and an ant.
07:50 GuShH on he other side, spatter from a previous test weld (cold) and you can see how I delayed the start and it melted through one of the rebar pieces until I got going, that's because I can't see crap with that helmet.
07:50 Jak_o_Shadows Still, not too bad
07:50 GuShH It's really annoying, can't wait for a new helmet
07:51 ShH shakes
08:42 marijnfs http://www.airingnews.com/articles/291295/Robot-Puts-Bucket-on-Its-Head-Presumably-to-Shield-Us-All-From-Its-Terrifying-Gaze-Video
08:42 marijnfs is it really that terrifying?
08:44 GuShH marijnfs: the blinking is just the terrifying part, it doesn't need to but it does it.
08:45 marijnfs haha
08:47 GuShH roboswag lol
09:11 ShH priced a 100 meter 3x4mm extension lead at around 300 usd... decides to grab some fuel for the genset ins
09:17 GuShH robotustra: how much is that in class 5 over in Canuckistan?
09:18 GuShH 3 conductors, it's a bit over 5/32, class 5
09:25 robotustra i don't know what is this
09:26 GuShH robotustra: and you call yourself an engineer
09:26 GuShH tsk tsk tsk
09:27 GuShH cable. pvc. 3 conductors. 5/32 is the thickness, class 5 is the flexibility (fine stranded) so it's not for underground use, it costs more because of this.
09:27 GuShH got it priced just for fun, it's not cheap.
09:27 GuShH 100 meters (330 foot)
09:28 GuShH that's for less than 3% drop at the maximum current I would have to use it for, otherwise a smaller cable would be a lot cheaper.
09:29 GuShH robotustra: that's when a genset comes in handy, long distances.
09:29 robotustra ah
09:29 robotustra it's expencive here
09:29 GuShH I doubt it's more than 300 usd
09:29 GuShH or even 200 usd.
09:30 robotustra 5 m - is 16 dollars
09:30 GuShH of the same cable?
09:30 robotustra let me see
09:30 robotustra I didn't look at it
09:30 GuShH there's no way it costs more than here
09:30 robotustra is it single cord?
09:30 robotustra or multible cords?
09:30 GuShH 3 conductors
09:31 GuShH live, neutral, earth
09:31 robotustra monolitic?
09:31 GuShH yes
09:31 robotustra it should be chipper
09:31 GuShH also it's not mil-spec, regular shop cable...
09:31 GuShH not even double insulation
09:31 robotustra I told you about multuthread
09:31 GuShH the one I got for an extension lead for the welder has double insulation, but it was on sale (someone ordered it, never picked it up... so they had to put it on sale)
09:32 GuShH it was 10M anyway
09:32 GuShH came in handy many times.
09:32 GuShH and there's virtually no voltage drop, it's 5mm
09:33 GuShH that's also how I got like 20 meters of 3/4 copper for 20 bucks
09:33 GuShH on sale heh
09:33 GuShH (copper pipe)
09:34 robotustra http://www.renodepot.com/en/heating-electrical/cables-and-wires
09:35 ShH can't fin
09:36 GuShH they don't have a lot to choose from either
09:36 robotustra it's canada
09:36 GuShH reminds me of the hardware store I went to a couple days ago, they didn't have ANY cable whatsoever. makes you wonder...
09:36 robotustra what do you want from it
09:36 GuShH how do you run a hardware store and stock no cable / wire
09:36 GuShH the fuck
09:36 GuShH it doesn't help that the guy was wearing nerd glasses, made me want to punch him.
09:37 robotustra yes
09:37 GuShH robotustra: I don't know, I thought Canada was a bit like the US
09:37 GuShH But the chicks were naughtier
09:37 GuShH And the food better.
09:38 robotustra in this storages there only standard things are for sale
09:38 GuShH Also 75 meters, odd amount for rolls / spools, here they're often 100, 500, 1000M
09:38 robotustra did you browse through all 10 pages?
09:38 GuShH only 2 pages for flexible wire
09:38 robotustra roll - is about 375 m
09:39 GuShH 75-m spool
09:39 GuShH they're in AWG
09:40 GuShH so I'd be looking for 6, it's the closest size.
09:40 GuShH that's 6/3 for the canuckies.
09:40 GuShH right?
09:41 GuShH So they don't have any in class 5, only "construction wire" which is often what you'd call underground, stiff... less than class 5
09:41 GuShH Yeah it's Romex (construction, underground) http://www.renodepot.com/en/wire-nmd-6-3-150-m-8179011
09:42 GuShH no good. But you can see, it's not cheap stuff. And the class 5 costs more.
09:42 GuShH Problem with Romex is it's meant to be laid in a conduit and not disturbed.
09:42 robotustra I don't know much about cables
09:42 GuShH you should.
09:43 robotustra I usually check cross section
09:43 GuShH Romex is just the american brand for these
09:43 GuShH 13mm2 if you want the cross section of awg 6
09:43 GuShH well it's more or less, don't know exactly. why should I remember?
09:43 robotustra I know the approximate amperage - and that's enouph for me
09:43 GuShH :p
09:43 GuShH there's more to cables than that!
09:44 robotustra I don't know what the numbers mean
09:44 robotustra no idea
09:45 GuShH lol
09:45 GuShH which ones
09:46 GuShH AWG?
09:46 GuShH it's the yankee wire gauge, they say it's how many dies it has to go through
09:47 GuShH but if you see at the double 0 and bigger, then the theory breaks apart?
09:47 GuShH see/look
09:48 robotustra I know what is the gage
09:48 ShH eyer
09:48 robotustra geige
09:48 robotustra 1 sec
09:49 GuShH gauge, but gage seems to work too
09:49 robotustra yet
09:49 robotustra yep
09:49 GuShH although It's ambiguous for me.
09:49 GuShH I've seen people use gauge for gage and gage for gauge, including me
09:57 robotustra gauge for me is a tool to cut wood
10:15 R0b0t1 geige?
10:16 robotustra chisel
10:17 robotustra gouge
10:21 Skwint Enough already. Which american was it who decided to simplify English by loosing the U from Colour and Flavour, but thought "nah, gouge gage gauge - no worries - clear as mud"
10:25 robotustra Skwint: are you against changes?
10:26 Skwint though thou and bough may rhyme, and though and bow can rhyme, yet bow can rhyme with bough instead. It's tough, and I'm thoroughly confused enough.
10:26 Skwint I am in favour of changes which bring net benefits
10:27 Skwint in this case, changes which would decrease the overall complexity and confusion. Subtle changes to the spelling of a small number of words make things more confusing instead.
10:27 Skwint IMHO :p
10:27 Faek Color is terrible as is armor
10:35 ShH idly watches some security camera footage... wonders if the cops are tired of eating popcorn alr
11:07 poli Hello my good people of #robotics!
11:09 poli What for a solid state IMU unit would you guys choose?
11:09 poli err IMU unit is a redundancy, I know
11:10 robotustra for what purpose?
11:11 robotustra what acceleration what precision?
11:11 poli robotic wheelchair navigation
11:11 robotustra 2D?
11:13 robotustra for flat motion you need only 2 axis accelerometer
11:15 robotustra but this one is not bad I think http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adafruit-ADXL345-Triple-Axis-Accelerometer-2g-4g-8g-16g-w-I2C-SPI-/261242759574?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cd3482996
11:15 robotustra I whould take it
11:16 robotustra i2c, SPI
11:18 poli robotustra: I just bought 2 of these guys http://www.ebay.com/itm/200918922687?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
11:18 poli I think the ADXL345 is ubiquitous
11:19 robotustra may be
11:20 robotustra if you are going to use it more than for 2D motion
11:26 poli robotustra: I need the inclinometer
11:27 poli and knowing when it changed floors is also desirable
11:28 poli it will be an onmidirectional chair
11:28 poli bbl
11:31 GuShH poli: just grab the instrumentation panel from an old airplane cockpit and bolt it to the chair.
11:31 ShH
13:10 poli GuShH: airplane panel?
13:15 poli So what RFID sensors should I use for a 1m distance detection?
14:27 GuShH poli: hurry up grandpa doesn't have as much time as you do
14:28 GuShH and it's not your project it's his!
14:37 plotino hello
14:37 ace4016 hi
14:39 plotino yesterday i made a question about motors
14:39 plotino because an electronical techinciam
14:39 plotino not very expert with mechanics
14:39 plotino today i wanna come back to the topic
14:39 plotino especially for stepper motor
14:40 ace4016 ask away
14:40 plotino somebody coudl explain me the real difference between VR varianle reluctance motors and hibryd motor?
14:41 ace4016 varianle?
14:43 ace4016 ah
14:43 ace4016 VR and hybrid stepper motors
15:03 robotustra http://oi42.tinypic.com/acx3qp.jpg
15:05 ace4016 plotino, do you understand howw a VR stepper motor works at all?
15:06 plotino i try to expose what i have understoos
15:07 plotino if i supply the stator coils with alternating signals
15:07 plotino or with switch on switch off
15:08 plotino commands, the interaction between the magnetic field generated and the poles of rotor make the movement
15:08 plotino the pole should be of permanent magnetic with several poles
15:08 ace4016 the rotor doesn't really have a pole...there's no permanent magnet in a VR stepper motor
15:09 plotino and the stator has a certain number of coils energized one or two at times
15:09 plotino mm
15:10 ace4016 you might be thinking of a permanent magnet stepper motor
15:11 plotino ?
15:18 plotino how is made the rotor of a VR stepper motor?
15:18 ace4016 just a piece of iron
15:19 plotino just a piece of iron ...
15:19 plotino and how to produce the reluctance??
15:25 ace4016 the electromagnets in the stator
15:35 plotino just talking aboutu the motoro controller
15:35 plotino how to regulate speed in DC brushed motors ...
18:23 ShH kicks eadthem's c
18:23 GuShH robotustra: ok, got the lathe cutting tools, drill chuck and a center bit... also a parting blade (straight, no holder yet... might end up making one for what it is...)
18:24 GuShH oh and the mt2 adapter for the chuck, why the hell won't they just make it all in one piece?
18:27 GuShH poli: heh seems everyone likes mr pope
18:27 GuShH big change from the previous pope... that asshole
18:41 GuShH eek what the hell kind of wax is this... it's like the type theBear uses on his nipples, but not quite the same...
18:48 dthem throws GuShH's keyb
18:49 ShH uses the laptop's
18:49 ShH frowns at ead
18:50 eadthem i can still throw your laptop keyboard :p
18:51 GuShH eadthem: you'll need a screwdriver to remove the 3 screws, then the ribbon and THEN you can throw it out!
18:51 eadthem meh screwdriver
18:51 eadthem i has hammer
18:58 GuShH :<
19:41 Skwint http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn23925-light-completely-stopped-for-a-recordbreaking-minute#.UfHB65wjaYR
19:41 Skwint Yet another reason why QM is in my "wtf" category
19:56 GuShH I've no idea what most of these lathe tools are for... I can only identify 6 of them...
19:58 Tom_itx can't see em from that far away
20:13 rue_house http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_coil
20:13 rue_house they never taught this stuff
20:17 GuShH Tom_itx: I think you need glasses then!
20:18 Tom_itx did you post a link?
20:18 Tom_itx i missed it if you did
20:19 GuShH nope, no pic. I can take one though
20:19 GuShH might need to add numbers to each if someone is going to talk about 'em
20:27 GuShH quality is pretty meh, seems they're painted, one came all chipped out, the inserts are brazed on, some I suspect are not correctluy aligned either.
20:28 GuShH http://gushh.net/tmp/dscn3827f.jpg .... still cheaper than a single generic indexable tool (without inserts), they're pretty expensive here.
20:30 GuShH I think the cutting bits are cobalt steel 18%, but I'm not sure yet.
20:33 GuShH The parting tool/blade holder was 40 usd, but I didn't order it, I think it's a ripoff for two chunks of steel... got a cobalt steel blade instead
20:34 ShH wonders if he should claim a replacement for the one that came "dama
20:35 GuShH 10 is a small parting tool... 7 has to be an inside threading tool, it has a 60° cut
20:35 GuShH unsure if 14 is for outside threading, it's 60° but not to a sharp end, it's rounded.
20:36 GuShH 5 is just a facing tool
20:37 GuShH 6 is for basic boring operations
20:37 Tom_itx inside undercuts
20:37 Tom_itx ie seals
20:37 GuShH oh I see
20:38 Tom_itx snaprings
20:38 GuShH but you could bore too?
20:38 GuShH or would 5 be more suited
20:38 Tom_itx i can do most of those things with alot fewer tools
20:38 GuShH I thought they'd be black-oxide, not painted
20:38 GuShH Tom_itx: I wanted a set of indexable tools but they were mighty expensive by comparison
20:39 GuShH these come in a set, not much I could do about it either
20:39 GuShH the tips were all covered in wax, eek.
20:40 GuShH wonder why not use shipping oil instead
20:40 GuShH old school.
20:40 GuShH Tom_itx: oth for an o-ring you'd want rounded corners, not straight
20:41 Tom_itx depends
20:41 GuShH although a v groove could do
20:41 GuShH if I ever get a proper set I'm sure these won't see much use anymore...
20:43 ShH thought some of them were solid, not just a brazed
20:43 GuShH "pictures are for illustrative purposes only"
20:43 robotustra Mickle Jackson http://oi39.tinypic.com/15wm74p.jpg
20:43 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.dyndns.org:81/~webpage/rue/tranny/DSC_0001.JPG
20:43 Tom_itx that o ring had a flat bottom
20:43 GuShH wait, it says rue and tranny... should I click
20:44 Tom_itx cooling line
20:45 GuShH the drill chuck is ok... a good solid one costs 200 bucks, got a cheapie for a fraction of the cost, might end up regreting it later on
20:45 Tom_itx yeah
20:45 GuShH looked at used ones for a while, but I couldn't find anything suitable.
20:45 Tom_itx i like good chucks
20:46 GuShH saw a few used jacobs but they were more rust than chuck, I don't know why they let things go like that
20:46 GuShH just spray some oil, cover it in paper.. throw it in a corner.
20:47 robotustra this is a prototype of robot head
20:47 GuShH chucks in general, when used... might come with a couple free gifts such as a broken gear, missing jaw... missing key (not _that_ big of a deal) etc.
20:48 GuShH robotustra: wtf
20:48 robotustra I did it today
20:48 robotustra one day work
20:48 ShH bl
20:48 GuShH I don't know how to respond to that.
20:48 robotustra you mustn't
20:48 GuShH what the hell man
20:49 robotustra my robot will be in form of alien
20:49 GuShH if it makes you happy...
20:50 robotustra for sire
20:50 robotustra sure
20:50 ShH pictures the head in bed, next to robotu
20:52 robotustra do you know what is uncanny valley?
20:52 ubuntivity hi
20:52 GuShH robotustra: don't want to know
20:53 robotustra hi
20:53 robotustra but it explains why I do it in such form
20:54 GuShH Tom_itx: in theory most operations could be carried away with a fraction of the tools, but I wonder... if you know exactly which purpose each serves, then they might last a lot longer as a whole, I still question whether they need re-sharpening, they're not -that- sharp.
20:54 robotustra but you don't kare
20:55 robotustra care
20:55 GuShH should I care?
20:55 ubuntivity Guys, I need help regarding bicycle chains: I want to make a treaded robot from bicycle chains, I want to replace the pins in the chains with screws that hold the links instead of the pins. Will that require a special type of chains?
20:55 GuShH o.O
20:56 ubuntivity Or any chains can have their pins replaced with screws?
20:56 Tom_itx that's a rather silly thing to do
20:56 Tom_itx the pins are a bearing surface per se
20:56 Jak_o_Shadows Isn't the normal to do bolts instead of the tooth bits?
20:57 ubuntivity I want to use the bicycle sprockets as the wheels, so I should keep their space clear
20:57 robotustra ubuntivity: I hardly can imagine the design of your robot
20:57 Tom_itx gonna be kinda hard on the sprocket tips
20:57 Jak_o_Shadows ubuntivity: See http://www.rctankcombat.com/articles/track-systems/
20:58 robotustra or like this http://samodelniy.ru/samodelnye-gusenitsy-dlja-robota
20:58 ubuntivity Nice page Jak_o_Shadows, what I want to do is similar to the last section in that page entitled "Chain and Bolt Track"
20:59 ubuntivity No robotustra, that's what I want to avoid
20:59 Jak_o_Shadows In that, the pins are hollow
20:59 ubuntivity Is it necessary for the pins to be hollow?
20:59 Jak_o_Shadows For the last one on the page I linked, yeah.
20:59 Tom_itx no
20:59 ubuntivity Can't I just replace the pins with the screws??
20:59 ubuntivity Are the pins removable?
21:00 ubuntivity Tom_itx: You mean No it isn't necessary?
21:00 Tom_itx the pins are removable with a chain splitter
21:00 Tom_itx or grinder
21:01 Tom_itx the pins aren't hollow
21:01 ubuntivity And it is possible to insert screws instead of pins to hold the links together I assume?
21:01 robotustra yes it's possible
21:02 Tom_itx possible but silly
21:02 robotustra any rod will ne ok
21:02 robotustra be
21:02 ubuntivity good. but why is it silly Tom_itx?
21:02 Tom_itx the pin in there is a bearing surface to mate with the outer ring
21:02 Tom_itx ground
21:03 ubuntivity So what will happen when I replace them with a regular well-fitted screws?
21:03 Tom_itx go ahead
21:03 ubuntivity Will that cause excessive friction?
21:03 Tom_itx i doubt the screws are as precision
21:03 GuShH I bet it would just derail
21:04 GuShH and you'll cry all day.
21:04 GuShH I know I would if I spent all that time
21:04 Tom_itx you get too much slop in the links the chain will be stretched and not fit on the sprockets properly
21:04 ubuntivity You are right GuShH (about the crying part!) but why do you think they'll derail?
21:05 Tom_itx ^^
21:05 ubuntivity Won't that be correctable with the appropriate screw size?
21:06 GuShH weld whatever to the existing pins, if you have the skills... and assuming that won't end up ruining the chain.
21:07 ubuntivity My problem with welding is how to maintain a straight alignment of the welded part?
21:07 GuShH you build a jig
21:08 ubuntivity Sorry I'm not a native English speaker, what exactly is a 'jig'?
21:08 GuShH a tool to help you align the parts for welding
21:08 Tom_itx fixture
21:08 GuShH or assembly in general
21:09 ubuntivity any good demonstative images/photos about an appropraite 'jig' please?
21:10 GuShH doesn't exist
21:10 GuShH your request is too silly for this world
21:10 GuShH ubuntivity: you have to build it yourself, for the particular application at hand.
21:10 ubuntivity Ok GuShH.
21:11 GuShH see if you can find another way...
21:11 GuShH as Tom_itx told you the pins are rolling surfaces
21:12 ubuntivity Is it possible to cover my screws with a hollow tube?
21:13 GuShH depending on the chain, there's already a hollow tube...
21:13 GuShH for instance a sealed motorcycle chain
21:13 GuShH (those have o-rings in them)
21:13 GuShH I can't imagine building one from scratch, it must be torture.
21:13 ubuntivity You mean like the one used in this: http://www.rctankcombat.com/articles/track-systems/71trackparts-large.jpg
21:13 GuShH chains are meant to be put together by machines, not humans anymore!
21:13 ubuntivity I've got no other way, GuShH
21:14 GuShH enlarging or shortening, sure...
21:14 GuShH ubuntivity: there's always another way!
21:15 Tom_itx seems you've already committed to a way
21:15 ubuntivity I'm in Iraq and it is really difficult to find non-usual things here. Very few (if not none) people are interested in building robots here...
21:15 GuShH now everyone will assume you want to robotize an ak47
21:15 ShH nudges ubunti
21:15 ubuntivity hahaha, no GuShH, it is mainly for trash-collecting purposes
21:16 GuShH hrmm
21:16 GuShH a dirty robot!
21:16 ubuntivity I doubt I can find a hollow chain like the one in the photo above, that's why I asked in the first place..
21:16 ubuntivity A cleaning robot ^__*
21:16 GuShH look for motorcycle chains, not bicycle chains
21:17 ubuntivity A robot that sacrifices its own cleanliness for the cleanliness of others
21:17 GuShH the pin goes straight through the "hollow tube"
21:17 ubuntivity Are all motocycle chains hollow?
21:17 GuShH but the pins are solid.
21:17 GuShH ubuntivity: they're not all the same.
21:17 ubuntivity But in general they are hollow, right?
21:17 GuShH yes they have rollers
21:18 GuShH a bit more complex than a bicycle chain, due to the added forces involved
21:18 ubuntivity Unlike the bicycle chains which are generally non-hollow
21:18 GuShH and for wear of course
21:18 ubuntivity I think their added tolerance will be beneficial for me since they are going to be the treads..
21:18 ubuntivity but I hope they won't be difficult to manipulate and work on..
21:19 GuShH I still don't see it working
21:19 GuShH you'll also need motorcycle sprockets, as the bicycle ones won't mesh
21:19 ubuntivity Of course, that's a sure thing
21:19 GuShH you could get all of these things used, from a repair shop
21:19 GuShH ...still, I don't see how this would work
21:20 GuShH each pin has a groove on the end
21:20 ubuntivity That's what I intend to, since there is nothing like RadioShack here, only repair shops for cars, bikes, and bicycles
21:20 GuShH and that's how each "part" of the chain is assembled
21:20 GuShH you have pivots, bushings, etc. it's a complex assembly
21:20 GuShH RadioShack has nothing in the US
21:20 GuShH don't envy them, they are useless.
21:21 ubuntivity About RadioShack, That's good news (sort of!)
21:21 GuShH I don't know why they're still in business
21:21 ubuntivity Do you think a repairman who works on motorbikes can help me with this? Do their tools allow for the manipulation I need?
21:21 GuShH They used to be the SparkFun of the era before the internet heh
21:22 GuShH ubuntivity: yeah
21:22 GuShH but they're going to give you a blank stare.
21:22 GuShH "what the fuck is he smoking?"
21:22 ubuntivity You can't imagine!!!
21:22 GuShH unless the guy is also into robotics
21:22 GuShH then you've found a friend.
21:23 ubuntivity I have to give him a long introduction about (do your job and keep silent) behaviour!!
21:23 ubuntivity I doubt I'll find such guy :(
21:24 ubuntivity I once looked for some IR leds, but shopkeepers made me feel totally awkward for asking for that! Then I changed my method and asked for old/broken Remote Controls instead...
21:24 GuShH heh that's good thinking
21:24 ubuntivity and cheap ones, too.
21:24 ubuntivity That's how I can survive with my robotics hobby here!
21:24 GuShH the older they are, the more LEDs they had
21:25 GuShH well if you gather broken stuff you can get lots of "free" components
21:25 ubuntivity If I need a DC motor, I would look for some Chinese toys
21:25 GuShH (minus the broken ones)
21:25 GuShH ubuntivity: dildos?
21:25 ShH runs
21:25 GuShH Are the DC motors in those extra-rugged or just normal ones?
21:25 untivity doesn't have the appropriate ans
21:26 ubuntivity They come in various forms
21:26 ubuntivity most of them are the small ones running on 3VDC
21:26 GuShH I could totally market them for the gearhead woman ... "New model with triple thrust bearings and forced lubrication"
21:26 ubuntivity but I found some toys that have a 9VDC motors with good gear assembly
21:27 ubuntivity so I keep the box of such toys so that I memorize how they look like and start searching for them like a nerd O.o
21:27 ShH bl
21:27 ubuntivity Some toystore keepers looks strangely towards me when I inspect the bottom of the toy before buying, they are wondering why I'm counting the batteries required :P
21:28 GuShH yeah I don't think you'll find someone like you
21:28 GuShH but you can always place an online ad
21:29 ubuntivity I had a website, which I took down due to no reponses from humans
21:29 GuShH http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/gadgetlab/2012/12/ff_robot_large.jpg LOL
21:29 GuShH the WD40 killed me.
21:30 GuShH Also I thought that was Jimmy Fallon, but why?
21:30 ubuntivity Wow! What the #$%^!
21:30 ubuntivity I don't know who's Jimmy Fallon, sorry.
21:30 GuShH Some American comedian
21:31 GuShH Don't worry, most people don't know who he is.
21:31 ubuntivity Most American people, how about Iraqi people :P
21:32 GuShH Oh well, I'm not American either.
21:32 ubuntivity Ah, so where are you from?
21:32 GuShH Let's see how many of these comedians you don't know
21:32 GuShH YEAH CANCEL THE MISSILES IM NOT AMERICAN
21:32 ubuntivity LOL!
21:32 GuShH Jay Leno?
21:32 ubuntivity No idea
21:33 GuShH Conan o'Brien?
21:33 ubuntivity Never heard of
21:33 GuShH Craig Ferguson?
21:33 ubuntivity Nope
21:33 ShH p
21:33 GuShH No American TV in Iraq?
21:33 GuShH That's a blessing, in a way.
21:33 ubuntivity There is, but I'm not much interested
21:34 GuShH LOL
21:34 GuShH ubuntivity: Do most people hate Americans in your country?
21:34 ubuntivity I like Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Jim Carrey (his old movies)
21:34 GuShH Well, Jim Carrey needed the money at first
21:34 ubuntivity Well, Iraqis don't like to hate others, but when they see foreigners ruining their country, they'll hate them whoever they are...
21:35 GuShH He used to live in his car.
21:35 GuShH So most of his first movies were great, he was a lot more passionate about his acting
21:35 GuShH or whatever you call it, whatever it is he did / does
21:36 ubuntivity Oh, that's how suffering leads to innovation (not sure if those are the right words)
21:36 GuShH ubuntivity: I haven't seen it first hand, so I don't really know what they were and were not doing to and in your country
21:36 GuShH Yeah or necessity is the mother of all inventions
21:36 ubuntivity The only good thing they did was eliminating the dictatorship of Saddam.
21:37 GuShH I wish they would come and eliminate our kind-of-dictator.
21:37 GuShH And every politician
21:37 ubuntivity Who is?
21:37 GuShH I'll even pull the trigger if they let me.
21:37 GuShH ubuntivity: Argentina, I won't say names.
21:38 ubuntivity Argentina, South America. May God be with you all..
21:38 GuShH o.o
21:38 ubuntivity My God be with all of us..
21:38 GuShH What if some of us are not religious though?
21:39 ubuntivity In one way or another, you believe in a Super power that is leading this universe
21:39 ubuntivity which quite makes sense
21:39 GuShH Probably
21:39 GuShH Or then, it doesn't.
21:39 GuShH There has to be an explanation for "everything"
21:39 GuShH An easy way out would be to say "some high power did it"
21:39 ubuntivity There is a mechanism of everything, yes
21:39 GuShH But that's not scientify
21:39 GuShH err scientific
21:40 ubuntivity that Super power made everything through a logical mechanism
21:40 ubuntivity so religion is not a way to escape answers, nor justifies that.
21:40 GuShH If the big bang theory is correct, what made it happen?
21:40 GuShH you can't create something from nothing, so?
21:40 Jak_o_Shadows Trying to make a gmail account for a website, because I did 2013 once, it says i'm too young
21:40 ubuntivity Saying that Allah (or God) created humans doesn't stop us from thinking "How did He create them?"
21:41 GuShH Jak_o_Shadows: you'd kinda be
21:41 GuShH ubuntivity: I would ask, who created him
21:41 GuShH How can something just exist from one moment to the other
21:41 ubuntivity Let's assume (just an assumption) there is a power higher than him
21:41 ubuntivity so, who created that higher power?
21:41 GuShH Human nature wants to justify everything as well.
21:42 Jak_o_Shadows had to clear the cache
21:42 ubuntivity we will go over and over through that cycle, but at the end well have to accept that there is an absolute power that is higher than everything else
21:42 GuShH Jak_o_Shadows: we're talking about religion and war with ubuntivity from Iraq, he may either enlighten me, or blow me up.
21:42 MrCurious happy beer day!
21:42 GuShH oh? I had a small beer
21:42 GuShH now I kinda wish I had more.
21:43 ubuntivity ^___^ GuShH. I don't blow people, only minds ^_*
21:43 GuShH ubuntivity: well... what if there is nothing?
21:43 MrCurious i have had a small one and i do have more
21:43 GuShH ubuntivity: it's just a stereotype :p
21:43 GuShH MrCurious: I quit drinking so I don't stock alcohol anymore
21:43 MrCurious quitter
21:43 GuShH a small beer once in a while is ok
21:43 ubuntivity It is not possible to be nothing, since we all know that every thing has a supervisor, admin, leader, controller, or whatever we call it
21:43 GuShH no. I don't want to die in 5 years
21:44 GuShH Tom_itx?
21:44 GuShH PAPPA?
21:44 MrCurious how can you perfect the face-fall if you dont drink-at-all
21:44 GuShH ubuntivity: or maybe there's nothing!
21:44 ubuntivity MrCurious: as a medical student, I assure you that not drinking at all is a perfect preventive way against several disease..
21:45 ubuntivity GuShH: If there is nothing, then you probably don't exist :\
21:45 GuShH just like we can't imagine not existing, we can't imagine how everything exists.
21:45 MrCurious hmm, as a middle aged professional, i can tell you too late...
21:45 GuShH we can't even picture broad distances, for instance from where you stand to Jupiter
21:45 ubuntivity Yes, maybe we can't have the complete picture about the entire existence, but we can see the logic of how things work
21:45 MrCurious cigarets would have been the one to prevent...
21:45 GuShH MrCurious: I don't smoke!
21:46 MrCurious i dont any more
21:46 MrCurious 2.5+ years
21:46 GuShH ubuntivity: I see natural selection and you can actually see Darwin at work if you join #arduino
21:46 ubuntivity MrCurious: Alcohol, Smoking, and Obesity are the three most common risk factors for diseases
21:46 GuShH MrCurious: quitter
21:46 GuShH ubuntivity: those are the 3 things americans put in their CV
21:46 ubuntivity And who said natural selection isn't God's mechanism of evoluting his own creatures??
21:46 ShH g
21:46 GuShH ubuntivity: but who made God
21:47 GuShH It's a Chicken - Egg problem.
21:47 ubuntivity Nobody made Him
21:47 GuShH ubuntivity: So how can he exist
21:47 ubuntivity Let me give you an example
21:47 GuShH Was he nothing before? how is he something now?
21:47 GuShH There has to be a beginning for everything.
21:47 ubuntivity Ah, you got to the solution point
21:48 ubuntivity Time, the 4th dimension
21:48 GuShH You know ,we could all just be a simulation running on an alien's iphone.
21:48 ubuntivity We, humans, are bound to the 4th dimension
21:48 ubuntivity we can't realize how things look like outside that dimensions
21:48 ubuntivity *dimension
21:49 GuShH If you find theBear's drug stash, maybe you can imagine it.
21:49 ubuntivity (Nice assumption about the alien's iPhone ^_*)
21:49 GuShH It would have to be a hipster alien.
21:49 ubuntivity Your assumption reminded me of a good explanation:
21:50 ubuntivity imagine our life (which is bound to time) is like a movie
21:50 GuShH But in a movie they pan to the fireplace, fade out and they had sex.
21:50 Lola8088 Time is the first dimention, with out the first dimention, the other dimentions cannot be observed.
21:50 GuShH That's not how it works!
21:50 ubuntivity that movie has 'time' factor, and everyone inside that movie is bound to that factor
21:50 ubuntivity but someone outside the movie is not bound to that factor
21:51 ubuntivity so he may skip time by seeking the movie,
21:51 GuShH You still can't explain why someone outside of the movie exists.
21:51 ubuntivity and the whole movie exist at the same time on his hard disk
21:51 GuShH Why are we on a hard disk now?
21:51 GuShH WHAT IF IT CRASHES
21:51 ubuntivity because the movie needs someone to store it on the hard disk
21:51 GuShH So you're saying everything has been written
21:52 ubuntivity In some perspective, yes
21:52 groglogic personally, my own life is on SSD. i like the faster random seek latency. but thats just me
21:52 GuShH So there's no free will
21:52 GuShH You are all puppets of god
21:52 ubuntivity No, not in that way. There IS free will
21:52 GuShH Don't the Americans know...
21:52 ShH runs
21:53 GuShH ubuntivity: so how long until they've taken all the oil out?
21:53 ubuntivity Not sure how long, but I'm worrying that it won't be long...
21:54 GuShH this is the first kind-of-discussion related to religion that didn't end in insults or worse.
21:54 GuShH Oh? why would you worry?
21:54 GuShH Fanaticism is what turns every religious topic into crap.
21:54 ubuntivity I like rational religious discussions, and I always seek the truth instead of imposing my own opinions on others...
21:54 GuShH That's good
21:55 ubuntivity I learned that from Islam, the true Islam
21:55 ubuntivity Islam is an Arabic word derived from the word Salam, which means "Peace"
21:55 ShH has no reli
21:55 GuShH So Salami is derived from Peace?
21:56 ubuntivity Who is Salami?
21:56 GuShH https://www.google.com/search?q=salami&rlz=1C1LENP_enAR520AR520&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=5eHxUa-FO-iWiQLooYHYDw&biw=1440&bih=799&sei=6eHxUc7OFoOtigKJ8YHYBw
21:56 robotustra ubuntivity: did you read Koran?
21:56 untivity took a deep look at Islam before considering it his relig
21:56 GuShH I couldn't imagine trying to memorize the Koran
21:56 GuShH Or Kuran, or however you spell it.
21:56 ubuntivity Yes I read Quran, but I don't memorize all of it
21:57 GuShH "only the sexual parts"
21:57 ubuntivity It is not obligatory to memorize the Quran, but some Verses are necessary to do the Prayers..
21:57 GuShH Let's compare robotustra's diet with ubuntivity's diet
21:57 ubuntivity Diet?
21:58 GuShH food items
21:58 GuShH Isn't food a big part of every country?
21:58 GuShH Even the breads are different
21:58 ubuntivity Yes, of course :)
21:58 ubuntivity but I'm not a big fan of food O.o
21:58 GuShH I wonder if robotustra is fat now
21:58 GuShH he moved to Canada.
21:58 robotustra 100 kg
21:59 GuShH ok and how tall are you
21:59 GuShH you could be a midget, a fat one.
21:59 robotustra 182 cm
21:59 GuShH that's meh ok ish
21:59 ubuntivity 58Kg, about 180cm, so I'm officially underweight!
21:59 robotustra distrophy
21:59 GuShH I must be around that, but I don't weigh that much
21:59 GuShH robotustra: no, in some places people are just generally smaller, or bigger.
22:00 robotustra My family is all tall
22:00 GuShH depends on your metabolism...
22:00 ubuntivity Iraqis tend to be fat, me excluded :)
22:00 GuShH dna...
22:00 robotustra yep
22:00 robotustra I can drop 10 kg in 1 week
22:00 robotustra if I want it
22:00 ubuntivity I don't like eating, and I'm very selective about food
22:00 GuShH robotustra: that sounds... disgusting.
22:01 ubuntivity Imagine the skin after that, GuShH!
22:01 GuShH if he lost 10 more KG he could flap his skin and take off
22:01 GuShH robotustra: do you exercise at all?
22:02 robotustra didn't got
22:02 GuShH I haven't touched any of my gym stuff in over a year
22:02 robotustra I'm fasting for 1 week - and voila
22:02 GuShH but that's not .... nice
22:02 ubuntivity How much you weigh, GuShH?
22:02 GuShH I don't really know
22:02 robotustra water only and 10 km a day by foot
22:02 ubuntivity That's harmful robotustra!
22:03 GuShH robotustra: is that how much you have to walk to the nearest McDonalds?
22:03 robotustra ORLY?
22:03 ubuntivity Try vegetables at least!
22:03 GuShH water only is harmful, he means
22:03 robotustra 10 km - it's just 2 hours of walk
22:03 GuShH you need protein intake
22:03 GuShH vitamisn
22:03 GuShH vitamins*
22:03 robotustra what's wrong with yo?
22:03 GuShH me?
22:03 GuShH I DONT KNOW MANY THINGS I GUESS
22:03 robotustra 7 days - it's not so big pause
22:04 GuShH try 30 if you are up for a challenge
22:04 GuShH jeez
22:04 ubuntivity Why don't you make your fasting every other day? robotustra
22:04 robotustra 21 day is safe - byt I didn't try it yet
22:04 ShH wonders how many people are eating something while reading
22:04 robotustra max I did was 9 days
22:04 GuShH robotustra: you are nucking futs.
22:05 untivity is fasting now for religious purpo
22:06 robotustra and eat in the night?
22:06 GuShH robotustra: not ideal... also, you are not a top model, quit being silly.
22:06 robotustra I know that religion
22:06 GuShH "religion"
22:06 ubuntivity yes robotustra, I eat in the night
22:06 GuShH those are just disorders.
22:06 ubuntivity We do it one month every year
22:06 robotustra no, I feel good when my weight is about 90 kg
22:06 GuShH disorder, like my workbench.
22:07 robotustra and if I 85 - it's even better
22:07 GuShH robotustra: so exercise, eat healthy and it won't go over 90
22:07 ubuntivity If religion leads to the good of humanity, it won't be a disorder..
22:07 robotustra GuShH: I can't
22:07 robotustra I have weak spirit
22:07 GuShH ubuntivity: disorders as in eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia, etc)
22:08 GuShH robotustra: you don't, if you can go several days without eating that's not a weak spirit
22:08 ubuntivity Lol, I misunderstood your earlier two lines
22:08 robotustra true
22:08 GuShH that's also not spirit-related, just your will.
22:08 ubuntivity robotustra: don't you like robotics? why don't you find a robotics-related work that burns calories??
22:08 GuShH But that's because you want to achieve a goal
22:09 robotustra but when I eat I can't get read of testy food
22:09 GuShH "maybe fit in those sexy tight jeans, rawr"
22:09 GuShH ubuntivity: LOL which robotics-related work would make you burn calories?
22:09 GuShH Hahah
22:09 ubuntivity robotustra: try limiting the amount of the tasty food before eating, and put A LOT of vegetables in your food. Fill your stomach with vegetables :)
22:09 GuShH You'd be sitting on a chair
22:09 robotustra ubuntivity: do you think robotics-related job burns calories
22:09 robotustra ?
22:10 ubuntivity robotustra: manual work
22:10 GuShH xD
22:10 GuShH ubuntivity: is porn banned in your country?
22:10 GuShH like it is in China
22:10 ubuntivity Nothing is banned here
22:10 GuShH Alcohol?
22:10 GuShH Drugs?
22:10 robotustra to keep my weight constant I have to eat about 1 kg of food per day only
22:11 ubuntivity They are supposed to be banned, but no severe restrictions are imposed, however, society tends to reject them.
22:11 robotustra 4 times by 250 g
22:11 GuShH 1KG, do you also know how many calories each meal was?
22:11 ubuntivity or fight them, in better sense.
22:11 robotustra yep
22:11 GuShH robotustra: you have a problem.
22:11 GuShH seek help
22:11 robotustra it's in average 1500 kkal
22:11 GuShH are you in a "weight goal" or "daily intake" website, app, etc?
22:11 robotustra my organism is very efficient
22:12 robotustra no
22:12 GuShH you have to be.
22:12 robotustra I just fill better
22:12 ubuntivity robotustra: try my vegetable solution, eay 200g vegetables then 50g of your regular food
22:12 robotustra you live in hot country
22:12 robotustra sorry
22:12 GuShH I've no idea how many calories each thing has, I eat what I feel like eating
22:13 GuShH robotustra: I think it gets cold in Iraq too
22:13 ubuntivity It does, but no snow or the sort
22:13 GuShH And here... we've had an average of 0°C lately
22:13 ubuntivity except in the far north of Iraq
22:13 GuShH Do you make snow bombs ?
22:14 GuShH It's a boring game, you can only play it once.
22:14 ubuntivity No snow! I would make mud-bombs instead!
22:14 robotustra Iraq is the place of landing of annunaks
22:14 ubuntivity what are the "annunaks"?
22:14 GuShH wat
22:15 GuShH theBear: help, I've been surrounded by master-weirdos
22:15 robotustra aliens landed and did humans
22:15 GuShH lol
22:15 ubuntivity Is that "Prometheus" movie??
22:15 robotustra 420 000 yeas ago
22:15 GuShH robotustra: here's a better theory, we -are- aliens, and this is a seeded planet
22:15 robotustra Zachary Sitchin
22:16 robotustra yep
22:16 untivity likes GuShH's th
22:16 robotustra or mixture of apes and aliens
22:16 GuShH and black holes are where god divided by 0
22:17 untivity didn't like the last joke (his personal prefere
22:17 GuShH bah
22:17 GuShH so your god cannot make any mistakes?
22:17 ubuntivity No, He is perfect
22:18 GuShH but he made robotustra
22:18 GuShH that was a clear mistake
22:18 ubuntivity LOL!
22:18 ubuntivity He made the human brain :)
22:19 robotustra I don't beleive god existance unless aliens exist
22:19 GuShH robotustra: what does your wife think of your eating disorder?
22:19 robotustra she is ok about it
22:19 GuShH the hell
22:19 robotustra she has to cook less that time
22:19 ubuntivity I don't oppose the idea of the aliens, they might exist
22:19 GuShH that's so wrong
22:20 GuShH "she doesn't care I'm killing myself, 'cos she doesn't have to cook as often"
22:20 GuShH lol
22:20 ubuntivity So, GuShH. Looking in Google for motorbike chains, I found this: http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/390376693/A_grade_428_motorcycle_chain.jpg
22:21 ubuntivity But it seems non-hollow to my eyes :/
22:21 GuShH that's for a moped or some crap
22:21 robotustra it's scientificly prooven, if you feed apes 30% less than normal - they live longer and have no desees - and if aliens did as from apes it should be the same
22:21 GuShH bicycles with motors are NOT motorcycles.
22:21 GuShH robotustra: what?
22:21 GuShH eat something man.
22:22 GuShH have a carrot
22:22 ubuntivity I've types "motorcycle chain" in Google images, nothing seems hollow there!
22:22 robotustra I ate salmon today with salad
22:23 GuShH ubuntivity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc4tP8kmAX0
22:23 robotustra If I'll get the work soon - I'll be fasting only 1 day a week
22:23 GuShH this guy is ... I want to... punch him for being so condescending. even his tone is
22:25 ubuntivity GuShH: I see that the pins can be easily replaced with screws on this type of chains, that's what you meant, right?
22:25 GuShH more or less...
22:26 GuShH anyway look for roller chain, anything used on a bigger bike
22:26 ubuntivity But I remember having a bicycle chain that looks much like this one
22:26 ubuntivity I'll go cracking it up (I've got no bike tools) and see if it got that hollow tube..
22:26 GuShH the "tube" is the roller
22:27 GuShH it spins freely if you move it
22:27 GuShH acts like a bushing against the pin
22:27 ubuntivity So, a roller chain is what I should be looking for..
22:27 ubuntivity GuShH, robotustra: are you guys available here every day?
22:28 untivity really liked this page and inteding to be here everyday as poss
