07:47 Jak_o_Shadows Triffid_Hunter: I drew up your diagram for the hip 4082, and the one that is in the datasheet. There is a difference. Sort of don't know what's going on
07:48 Jak_o_Shadows I ignored the overcurrent protection on yours, is that why it takes extra pins?
07:49 Jak_o_Shadows Also, on the off chance I get things wrong, i'm far more likely to blow the fets than the hip4082, correct?
07:50 Jak_o_Shadows http://imagebin.org/254227
07:50 Jak_o_Shadows that would help I think
08:03 Apolypse hi!
08:03 Apolypse ummh
08:03 Jak_o_Shadows hi
08:03 Apolypse I REALLY(A.N.A.L.O.G.U.E O.N.L.Y)
08:04 Apolypse made a (n) pet robot, halo.R.
08:04 Apolypse I mean, halo.

08:05 Apolypse Have a look if U interested in it \^^/
09:16 joink that was weird
09:22 Tom_itx i didn't look either
11:45 GuShH joink: that's what happens when you smoke arduinos
11:46 GuShH bah where's eadthem
20:17 SecretFire is anyone in here good with engine overheating?
20:27 Sarephen IC engine?
20:40 Tom_itx add water
20:40 Tom_itx you'll have to be more specific
20:44 rue_house SecretFire, is the fan working?
20:47 SecretFire sorry, no the fan isn't working
20:48 SecretFire i just put a new thermostat in and it is pumping coolant
20:48 rue_house thats a problem
20:48 SecretFire I think its in the wiring of the fan
20:48 SecretFire it seems to be overheating
20:48 rue_house jam the fan on and see
20:48 SecretFire the fan should come on when I start the car
20:48 SecretFire rue_house: how do I jam the fan on
20:50 Tom_itx maybe the fan motor is shot
20:51 Tom_itx maybe the fuse is blown too
20:51 Sarephen he could try testing the fan motor with staight 12V
20:51 SecretFire we checked fuses
20:51 Sarephen *straight
20:51 SecretFire Sarephen : connect positive and negative?
20:51 Tom_itx is it full of water?
20:51 SecretFire it has coolant in it
20:52 Tom_itx no airlocks?
20:52 SecretFire no we got all the air out as far as i know
20:52 SecretFire we used the bleed
20:52 Tom_itx run the heater too to make sure
20:52 SecretFire yes
20:52 SecretFire heater is fine
20:52 Sarephen the negative should be grounded to chassis already, maybe just bypass the positive staight to 12v temporarily...
20:53 SecretFire ok
20:53 SecretFire if that doesn't work then its the motor
20:54 SecretFire what color is negative and what is positive as far as wires?
20:54 SecretFire is black positive
20:54 Sarephen black is usually ground. positive might be red or black with a white or grey stripe
20:54 SecretFire I see
20:54 SecretFire the negative will be red
20:55 SecretFire or what color
20:55 Sarephen hard to say without knowing the application, but almost always black is ground. positive will vary, could be any color
20:55 SecretFire i got it here http://www.fixya.com/cars/t4625177-need_wiring_diagram_99_cavalier_2_2
20:56 SecretFire full diagram
20:56 SecretFire i guess it doesn't include the fan wiring
20:57 Sarephen that's for wiring a radio in... doesn't include any of the other, many, wires in the car. You'll just have to look at the fan, find the wires that run to it, and figure out where they go.
21:00 Sarephen there will be atleast two, maybe more depending on how it's wired. There might be a sticker on it which tells you which are which
21:02 SecretFire oh ok
21:03 SecretFire Sarephen : does this look right?
21:03 SecretFire http://www.justanswer.com/uploads/mcvgreg/2009-06-23_224605_1999-Cavalier-P0480-Sch.gif
21:06 SecretFire im just trying to find a diagram to follow
21:11 SecretFire could it be something other than the fan causing it to overheat?
21:11 Sarephen if that's the correct model year for you then yea... the positive is light blue. but you could always take the relay out and use a wire to short across 30 and 87 to power the fan and see if it works
21:13 Sarephen or just 87 to the positive of the battery
21:13 SecretFire ok
21:14 SecretFire ok
21:14 SecretFire thank you
21:15 SecretFire Im going to try it on saturday and see what happens
21:15 Sarephen well I hope it works out for you. atleast it'll help you narrow down the problem
21:16 SecretFire absolutely
21:16 SecretFire and I know I can get help here
21:35 _FBi hello, wondering if someone could help me with some wiring?
21:48 _FBi eadthem, is you: /set irc_join_delay 7
21:48 _FBi you won't join / part / join
21:48 eadthem ?
21:48 eadthem k
21:48 eadthem thanks
21:49 _FBi you probably have a faster client than me, so you may not need to wait 7 seconds :)
21:50 eadthem xchat on a phenom 1045t and 16GB ram
21:51 eadthem never had that issue with mirc in windows
21:52 eadthem strongly debated running mirc in wine :p
22:17 _FBi eadthem, heh. Don't do it man!
22:18 eadthem i dont care what anyone thinks
22:18 eadthem mIRC is a realy good irc client
22:18 _FBi my ears are burning
22:18 eadthem xchat is probably more reliable in linux
22:18 sw0rdfish crash & burn
22:18 sw0rdfish xchat FTW!
22:19 _FBi Linux
22:19 _FBi Linux livecd 3.7.5-pentoo-r1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 6 00:29:31 UTC 2013 x86_64 AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
22:19 eadthem i mean realisticly there arent any features that xchat has that mirc dosent
22:19 eadthem same from what ive seen of irssi
22:19 _FBi does mirc have perl, python, and tcl?
22:19 eadthem If i was oper on a channel agan i would switch back in a instant else i dont need the extra stuff mirc has
22:19 eadthem fbi yes
22:20 _FBi damn, there goes my argument
22:20 _FBi does mirc make you leet?
22:21 eadthem but tbh ive yet to need scripting
22:21 _FBi heh, I scripted like a feen in mIRC day
22:21 _FBi days
23:03 Jak_o_Shadows Heatsinks for mosfets just came
23:03 Jak_o_Shadows few days late, oh well
