08:59 rue_house ___
09:00 GuShH -_-_-_-
09:07 rue_house .___
09:22 GuShH theBear: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1309&dat=19871214&id=ftlUAAAAIBAJ&sjid=gJADAAAAIBAJ&pg=7159,3569697
09:22 GuShH it actually is an interface to use it as a printer!
09:22 GuShH ...or a keyboard
09:23 GuShH I wonder if the cable wasn't just a mini-din to parallel
09:23 GuShH never seen the "interface"
10:54 theBear couldn't be, he insisted there wasn't one <grin>
10:54 GuShH theBear: oh this is mine
10:54 GuShH I insist I've never seen the cable though.
10:55 GuShH Would be neat to use it as a text printer, after all the quality of these is really nice.
20:33 rue_house I got SO MUCH ebay stuff today
20:34 rue_house :)))))
20:40 Tom_itx buck at a time?
20:45 rue_house I splurged a bit at christmas
20:45 rue_house I got some blue and green 2x7seg displays
20:46 rue_house an 8x8 red one
20:46 rue_house a 2 button remote I can put in my truck and hook to an audio system that can help me find it
20:47 rue_house a bunch of 0.1R resistors
20:47 rue_house some 8051 and 8052 microcontrollers, falsh, cause, well, they were cheap
20:58 theBear silly rue, its in the middle of the dash, behind the two knobs
21:13 rue_house no, I remote button I can push on my keychain that makes the truck say "OVER HERE YOU STUPID GIT!"
21:17 theBear i know <grin>
21:18 rue_house did I tell you about my awesome thought for a light in the back of the truck?
21:19 theBear nup, tho it did change the world whenever we un-smashed the one on the work truck.... you mean truck or err, utility sedan ? :)
21:20 rue_house pickup with canopy
21:20 rue_house I'm gonna use the hall sensor from a muffin fan
21:20 rue_house hook it to an led led
21:20 rue_house ...
21:21 rue_house led light...
21:21 rue_house make a fake cylinder
21:21 theBear what kinda muffin fan ? i thought they were just ac motors
21:21 rue_house when you open it, a magnet passes one way over the hall, latching it on, when yo uclose it, the hall latches off again
21:21 theBear err, muffin=snail right ?
21:21 rue_house they have latching hall sensors with 2 outputs
21:21 rue_house computer fan
21:22 theBear what ? they aint muffins, htey just flat
21:22 rue_house it can directly drive the led
21:22 rue_house we call them muffin fans, whatever
21:22 rue_house I tried it out, it works
21:22 theBear yeah, they are handy, a lot of them can drive a few hundred ma
21:23 theBear a few fans only have 3pin and discrete transistors, but that works too
21:23 rue_house the latching is what makes them perfect
21:23 theBear you sure they latch ? i thought they just alternate
21:23 theBear or maybe it's more of a hysteresis/magnetic schmiddt thing
21:24 theBear suppose it adds up to the same, never played with them with a magnet in my hand, only hand-moving the circle magnet
21:39 ShH stares at the
21:49 rue_house they latch
21:49 rue_house power cycle goes back to default
21:50 rue_house http://www.ebay.ca/itm/315Mhz-WL-RF-transmitter-and-receiver-link-kit-for-Arduino-ARM-MCU-/110950888589?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d530348d
21:50 rue_house shall I buy for two days at once?
21:51 rue_house is it more productive to fall asleep in this chair or the one in my shop?

22:01 rue_house I need a descent power supply, should I put a bid in on kats?
22:02 Tom_itx haven't seen it
22:02 rue_house oof, those look like they cost more than $3

22:02 rue_house I'm go do nothing in my shop
22:02 Tom_itx might be good for a mower bot ehh?
22:03 rue_house I dont think I'd go there with RF
22:03 Tom_itx i'm close to doing a major cleanout
22:05 Tom_itx i've decided i will never have time to build 80% of the things i'd like to
22:06 rue_shop3 you have lots of time before you die, dont you?
22:07 Tom_itx less and less every day
22:07 rue_shop3 I'm pulling up projects from over 13 years ago and working on them
22:07 Tom_itx what i need to find are simple small one or two night projects
22:08 Tom_itx i can just discard when done
22:08 Tom_itx i enjoyed the programmer thing
22:09 rue_shop3 hmm
22:10 rue_shop3 would you partake on working on a number of short lived sale'd projects?
22:10 rue_shop3 I bet, deep down, you crave to be routing a pcb again
22:11 Tom_itx i'm not sure anymore
22:53 worldmediaz891 hey all
22:54 rue_shop3 hey
22:55 worldmediaz891 do u have any experance working with tesla coils
22:55 rue_shop3 no

23:12 rue_shop3 No Particular Project
23:27 rue_shop2 Ahhhh, installing the master fuse helps
23:57 rue_shop2 yaaay, I sorted out the pwm problems
23:59 rue_shop2 after adding the flyback diodes, it runs perfectly cool
