15:09 DagoRed Tom_itx: I got the programmer working, however the chip is fighting me that I'm trying to program (atmega328p). I have a feeling fuse settings matter quite a bit.

17:34 DagoRed Tom_itx: I found the problem, besides questionable fuses apparently there was something wrong with my board I was using to program (the chips are questionable in general). However when I try to use the ISP header on an arduino with a fresh chip the programmer works fine with avrdude. I still am having a problem to get the programmer to work with Atmel Studio.

22:20 NotWorthCr4p if you can find a deposit place (savings, bonds, etc) with high yield to match the house interest, i'd buy those instead of prepay the house,, because you can prepay all but the last payment and lose the house, but you can let the bonds mature and pay it off in a lump sum
