15:43 delinquentme random: anyone happen to know how long it takes for concrete to soft set? I've got a mold i poured it into and I'm wondering how long it will take before I can pull the sides of the mold off
15:49 katsmeow-afk depends tons on the mix and the amount of water, and temperature
15:50 katsmeow-afk you can get fast set mixes, and pour them fairly dry, and they'll be hard in minutes
15:50 katsmeow-afk i've had cement set so fast by the time i got the paddles out of the bucket and turned the bucket over, the stuff was setting hard at the bottom
15:51 katsmeow-afk i advise against using concrete for making molds, you simply don't need large rocks in the mix, use a finer mix, like cement or mortar mix

15:59 katsmeow-afk rocks are added to cement mixes to make concrete, the cheaper big rocks take up space and if you use enough of them they make the mix capable of handling more psi
