12:34 tobbor hi archpower.
12:34 archpower hi
12:34 archpower hows it going?
13:08 sw0rdfish lol nice nickname archpower :D
13:09 haryv bank robers are getting more creative and dangerous in robbing banks. seems they found where the bank manager lived, approached her one morning, and strappped a bomb around her waist and told her to rob her bank for them.
13:09 haryv http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/05/us/california-bank-robbery/index.html?iref=obinsite
13:09 haryv kind of reminds me of the sorry story of the collar bomb victom.
13:11 DagoRed The pizza guy in PA?
13:11 haryv yes
13:11 DagoRed that was a sad story
13:11 haryv it was
13:12 archpower thanks
13:14 DagoRed archpower: props
13:15 archpower http://postimage.org/gallery/54h3foo/
13:16 archpower Its a completely restored and customized 1956 F100 truck and a 58 blown chrysler hemi, delivering 750 hp. the transmission is B&M Turbo 400 with a 3,500 stall speed converter . I boxed the whole chasis, i ran tubing to the chasis for all the electrical so you dont see any electrical on the frame or up in the engine compartment. welded in a 4-link suspension, 19 gallon fuel cell, 3 inch exhaust,
13:16 archpower air ride front and rear, and we ran all the air lines to the chasis.
13:16 DagoRed that is beautiful
13:17 archpower thanks
13:17 archpower shes bitching
13:17 haryv pretty
13:17 haryv I worked in a body shop once
13:17 haryv so got to drive the nice cars
13:18 archpower a lot of body work done on this thing
13:18 haryv what did they do ? cut out and weld in patches?
13:19 haryv make custom sheet metal part with english wheel?
13:22 sw0rdfish hmmmm... does anyone have experience with paypal? .... is there a way to tell if someone's paypal account has been busted for being involved in any sort of illegal activity?
13:24 archpower haryv, yeah once the major welding was done I shaved the fuel filler, fron cowl, and cab seams. smoothed out, blocked a few dozen times
13:25 haryv so is this a one time project?
13:25 archpower frenched the tailights
13:25 archpower lots of stuff
13:25 archpower yeah its for a car show
13:25 haryv i see
13:25 haryv i need to repair my frame.
13:26 haryv on my land cruiser
13:28 archpower its a 25k paintjob
13:29 haryv mmm
13:29 haryv to much money for me to spend
13:29 haryv would rather pay off debts, go back to school
13:30 haryv btw, I had the engine in this car once. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebFP6Len1w8&feature=related
13:34 haryv three dumb asses who do not know what the term "liquidfaction" means http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pcks3mxMJE&feature=related
13:44 archpower haryv the client paid for the whole thing obviously
14:59 loanshark hello
16:29 non-sense anyone very knowledgable with FANUC robots?
16:30 non-sense particularly setting/configuring DCS?
18:46 Tom_itx http://www2.electronicproducts.com/Researchers_successfully_hack_brain_retrieve_private_data-article-fajb_brain_hacking_sep2012-html.aspx
18:48 katsmeow Tom, i need a db that supplies data like : cows have fur, a human nose is in the center of the face, down is a direction towards earth, etc
18:51 GuShH_ hu?
18:57 katsmeow ?
18:59 Tom_itx is down a direction toward earth?
19:00 katsmeow i think so, is it not?
19:04 katsmeow Norland Managed Services has won a major contract to manage critical environment services for a 120 megawatt data center, the company said this week. Norland, which launched its North American operations in January, said the engagement would involve support for a 700,000 square foot facility
19:13 joink katsmeow: I've used XSB earlier for that sort of stuff, I think what you are asking is under the category of "Logic Databases" or in XSBs case "Logic Programming and Deductive Database System"
19:13 joink http://xsb.sourceforge.net/
19:14 katsmeow i need the *data* , not the munging/manipulation/management system
20:31 archpower hi
20:38 tsmeow gets white heatsink goop all over everyt
21:02 rue_livingrm today I learned that it takes a half hour tell someone how to slightly screw something up, it takes a few hours for them to screw it up worse, and it takes 4.5 hours to fix it afterwords
21:02 rue_livingrm long day at work
21:03 Tom_itx do that on a daily basis and you will have job security for life
21:04 rue_livingrm we didn't have time for me to teach him much of anything
21:06 Triffid_Hunter rue_livingrm: might want to suggest it would have been quicker if you'd trained him enough not to screw it up
21:09 rue_livingrm maybe next time they will just ask us to do it in the first place
21:09 rue_livingrm todays ebay item was a 1500mAh li-ion battery
21:13 Tom_itx https://plus.google.com/117833454280510837456/posts/c9RCsc71GaL
21:13 Tom_itx live?
21:15 rue_livingrm google does not support my stuff
21:18 Atak anyone use picaxe? im thinking about getting a picaxe dev board
21:18 Tom_itx try an avr instead
21:24 katsmeow 8 TO-220 in a module : http://designerthinking.com/benchpsu.html#bottom
21:28 Atak ive been messing with avrs
21:28 Atak why do you say try that instead?
21:28 Atak ive been wanting to play with pics
21:29 Tom_itx the tools are cheaper for avrs
21:31 Triffid_Hunter Atak: pic16f/18f are slow and crusty compared to AVRs, pic32 has closed source binary blobs in its toolchain.. I'm getting into cortex-m3 these days
21:32 Atak tools as in microcontrollers, programmers, etc?
21:32 Atak or sensors and stuff?
21:32 Tom_itx programmers etc
21:32 Tom_itx compilers
21:39 katsmeow wow@ thermal efficency, i soldered the collector pins on http://designerthinking.com/images/benchpsu/DSCF2958m.jpg and the heatsinks got warm!
21:45 Atak wouldnt arm really be the way to go if your wanting performance with hardware triffid_hunter?
21:46 Triffid_Hunter Atak: cortex-m3 is an arm core
21:47 Atak oh i see
21:47 Atak oops lol
21:48 Atak this looks interesting... http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/2150
21:49 Atak think that would be worth checking out?
21:50 Triffid_Hunter Atak: hmm, mbed.. closed source toolchain and library
21:51 Triffid_Hunter Atak: check out http://www.ti.com/tool/ek-lm4f120xl or lpcxpresso
21:52 Atak damn thats only $5?
21:53 Triffid_Hunter yep
21:53 Triffid_Hunter and each one has two chips on it, and you can get two
21:54 Triffid_Hunter Atak: the cortex-M4 even has an FPU if you want a number-crunching microcontroller
23:00 rue_livingrm I was given an external storeage drive today
23:00 rue_livingrm the drive is shot, but its got a 200Mhz arm processor with a network and ide interface
23:00 rue_livingrm and a usb port
23:00 rue_livingrm so I'm thinking
23:01 rue_livingrm ide/sata
23:12 Triffid_Hunter rue_livingrm: ooh like a dockstar or sheevaplug style thing?
