00:00 eadthem that lets you choose the librarys you want to make avalable for use on this project
00:00 GuShH dumbass: that's the same as typing "use", it executes the same function.
00:00 dumbass how is that different than memorising "type use" ?
00:00 dumbass then why don't i do that?
00:00 rue_livingrm kat, the libraries need to be 'in use' for the parts in them to be available, select them all
00:01 GuShH dumbass: preference and common knowledge.
00:01 dumbass ok, i selected all and clicked Open
00:01 GuShH most libraries you won't ever use.
00:02 dumbass ok, NOW the ADD window is populated
00:02 eadthem its got something in it now ?
00:02 GuShH passives are on library "rcl"
00:02 GuShH supply symbols are in "supply1" etc.
00:02 GuShH "transistor" holds common transitors, obviously.
00:03 GuShH and when you need a custom part that is nowhere to be found, you make it yourself.
00:03 ShH has a small library he lets others down
00:03 eadthem sorry but i need to go to bed, someone very silly decided to make me manager of the smt and inspection at work (robotics department). so i need to sleep
00:04 eadthem GuShH i recommend googleing the PDF file name
00:04 GuShH eadthem: trust me, some things just do not exist on eagle.
00:04 GuShH such as LCDs from cellphones...
00:05 GuShH and some parts are poorly defined on third party libraries anyway
00:05 dumbass ok, i placed a npn on the schematic, how do i make the mouse let go of the npn icon ?
00:05 eadthem ie "engine.pdf" AND ".PDF
00:05 GuShH I've even found ones with wrong pinouts, always double check!!
00:05 GuShH dumbass: hit esc
00:05 dumbass didn't work
00:05 eadthem ya valid point, always print out and double check pinouts and part fit before ordering a board
00:05 GuShH it brings you back to the add dialog, another "esc" closes it.
00:05 eadthem every board ive ever made has had at least 1 minor mistake on it
00:05 GuShH eadthem: worst one was with inverted opamps
00:06 GuShH the - were + inputs, etc.
00:06 dumbass oh, the window hasto be topmost to accept the ESC
00:06 eadthem just dont let it get to you, the pros at work have mistakes, ususaly we have 3 revs of a board before everythings perfect all the way thrue mass manufacturing
00:06 GuShH dumbass: once you are moving the part, right click will let you rotate it
00:06 GuShH shift+ right click rotates the other way.
00:06 eadthem cya
00:07 GuShH bye eadthem
00:07 eadthem o tahnks kat for the info on the spindles
00:07 dumbass <curtsey>
00:07 GuShH so kat, what are you going to design on eagle?
00:08 dumbass the bench psu schematic
00:08 GuShH oh
00:08 dumbass it's in my head, it's on paper, i just wanted it pretty
00:09 dumbass then i have a massive multi-pcb project involving 24 hds and a few Gbytes of sdram
00:09 GuShH for pretty I tend to use "livewire", then export to pdf via the print dialog.
00:09 ShH bl
00:09 dumbass the 2nd project is making my head hurt
00:09 GuShH if I plan to simulate I go directly to ltspice though.
00:10 dumbass i dunno these word ltspice
00:10 GuShH it's linear technology's spice
00:11 ShH eats his or
00:11 GuShH this carb with it's oiler seems like alien technology to me...
00:11 dumbass how do i pop up an alignment grid?
00:11 GuShH menu view -> grid
00:12 GuShH or type in "grid"
00:12 dumbass ah: display-on
00:12 GuShH then you can select display "on" it's style and size, etc.
00:12 GuShH options -> user interface if you want to change the background colour
00:13 GuShH personally I also check "always use vector font"
00:17 dumbass i need a window of the icons i have already used, such that i can save it, and keep selecting from it
00:18 dumbass ah: copy
00:21 GuShH I need to take pictures of this carb, if I keep taking things off I won't be able to put it back together tomorrow
00:23 dumbass that's one reason i take pics
00:23 dumbass take pics of alignment tics too
00:25 dumbass did you see http://designerthinking.com/images/benchpsu/DSCF2939m.jpg ?
00:26 dumbass that's almost all the high current stuff, other than the emitter resistors and wires to the caps and output posts
00:27 dumbass the black sw is base, the yellow is output (all common and all common to the heatsink too), the red and green goto emitter resistors
00:28 rue_house its past bedtime suppers not finished and I have a missing cat
00:28 rue_house damnit
00:28 dumbass :-P
00:30 dumbass see if the cat has the bear up a tree?
00:30 rue_house its raining, maybe if I leave her out this time she will get a little more inclined to come in when called
00:30 rue_house provided she lives
00:31 rue_house I'm not letting her out for the whole week for this
00:31 dumbass then check inside your truck fan shroud in the moring before you crank it up
00:35 dumbass my stepfather got up one morning and pureed a cat that way, didn't help the radiator much either
00:39 rue_house one of my dads cats lost a tail
00:40 dumbass they aren't generally detachable
00:40 rue_house but there are extanciating circumstances that nullify that concern
00:40 dumbass <blink>
00:41 dumbass extanciating ?
00:41 rue_house I'm more worried about bears (one seen last night) raccoons (always around somewhere) and coyotes (someones dog was taken not toooo far from here recently)
00:42 rue_house I have a problem
00:42 rue_house my thoughts dont have much retention time
00:42 dumbass that's why the cat will be on top of the engine, plus it's warm
00:42 rue_house if I cant expressthem quickly they deteriorate
00:42 rue_house I usually have about 3 seconds or less
00:42 dumbass 1) tape recorder 2) drugs
00:43 rue_house <the engines are not warm, neigher vehicle was used>
00:43 rue_house some thoguhts are so breif there isn't time to acually say them
00:43 dumbass it's still aa hiding placce the bear and wolf/cyote cannot get to, the coon won't think of it, and it's defnsable
00:43 rue_house I think its an effect of too much multitasking
00:44 rue_house she can get under the house
00:44 dumbass slow down your task switcher
00:44 dumbass coons and coyotes can get under the hosue
00:44 rue_house I cant control the schedular
00:44 dumbass even a yearling bear will find sleeping under a house comfy
00:45 dumbass most animals sleep where a bigger animal cannot surprise them
00:46 dumbass Grizzly Bear Mauls San Diego Man to Death in Alaska's Denali National Park
00:46 dumbass Hiker Had Stopped To Take Photographs of the Bear
00:47 dumbass Bear Stopped to Eat Man
00:55 rue_house the kats can just squeeze under the main door in
00:55 rue_house to the crawlspace
00:55 rue_house its awefull tight, dont know how they do it
01:07 rrywolf2 very quickly curls up on katsmeow before losing internet a
01:40 GuShH furrywolf: could you help me identify the screws on a small carburetor?
01:40 GuShH I'm not sure if one is idle or if it's the low end mix
01:47 GuShH http://gushh.net/tmp/honda_carb.jpg
01:48 GuShH the throttle system is a bit odd, must be due to the oil mixer... it basically links the main cable to another cable, so there are two linkages going on, one goes to a floating type of needle valve (with a spring), the other looks more like a regular throttle, on the other side of the bike (haven't taken that apart yet)
01:48 GuShH anyway I'm not sure if the top screw sets the idle only
01:49 ShH had to take it all apart after finding dirt in the tank and the fuel
01:49 GuShH aside from an ultrasonic bath or regular carb cleaner, there's no other way of getting rid of the brown stuff?
01:51 GuShH hmmm now that I look at it... I think the screw sets either the maximum or minimum opening for the oil
01:53 GuShH and that's why it moves with the throttle... to adjust the oil intake based on throttle position.
01:55 GuShH you can sort of see it on this "before" shot http://gushh.net/tmp/honda_carb2.jpg
02:09 GuShH http://www.keihincarbs.com/home.html
02:10 GuShH they don't seem to make 2 stroke carbs anymore
02:16 GuShH well, sent 'em an email.
05:12 theBear they probly got all intellectual about it "pffft ! 2stroke isn't a carb, it's a wind tunnel with fittings" .... oh how wrong they are, it's a marvel of resonance and pressures
05:16 GuShH http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/station/crew-32/hires/iss032e020608.jpg
05:16 GuShH theBear: lol...
06:59 dumbass In the U.S., a 2007 study by MIT for the U.S. Department of Energy, entitled The Future of Geothermal Energy, concluded that the country has enough EGS potential to theoretically meet 2,000 times its primary energy needs, and that realistically, EGS could contribute 10 percent of its electricity by 2050.
07:02 dumbass Pi-hundred million people live in U.S.
07:02 dumbass If you are a fan of the number pi, you'll love this: The U.S. Census Bureau announced that the American population reached 314,159,265 Tuesday.
07:10 dumbass SKIDMORE, MO - governor's new cost-share program which pays 90 percent of the expenses for drilling and installing new wells for drought-stricken farmers.
08:33 GuShH well it ended up being the idle adjustment. still no clue how you adjust the oil mix
10:13 Solarnrg Hi everybody
10:13 Solarnrg Do any of you here play Kerbal?
10:13 Solarnrg I've got a new graphics card and I've designed a mining robot on Kerbal thanks to downloading the Damned Robotics mod v. 0.12 I'd like to share with you all my first mining rig prototype and I'd love to hear how you think I could improve it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG17V3AEDxw
10:15 Solarnrg I think it would be cool if I could re-code the game to generate "chips" to process
12:02 Solarnrg Right, I'm off to play GTA4, cya!
12:07 furrywolf2 is it just me, or is chinese stuff getting crappier lately? for a while it seemed many chinese products were of pretty decent quality, but lately everything I've bought has been generally unacceptably crap.
12:08 furrywolf2 as well as an increase in counterfeit or fakes.
12:08 chris_99 hmm, aren't most devices like the ipad etc. made in china, guess it just depends on their QC
12:41 chris_99 anyone used a robotic arm before with compressed air inputs?
13:56 katsmeow-afk 480vac 3phase 192KVA ac motor speed controller, all the power electronics (100amp@1200v diodes, and the IGBT outputs and all the 400v caps) and all the heatsinks they rode in on, $19
13:56 katsmeow-afk water filtration kit, 3 canisters, carbon canister, and RO canister, and hoses and faucet, $2.50
13:57 katsmeow-afk 2 Generac units complete with transfer boxes, 60amp@240vac, $100 each
13:58 katsmeow-afk 100hp+ V6 2cycle engine block, with bottom-cylinder exhaust ports, exelent condition for making into a steam engine, $37
14:02 DagoRed what are you building Kat?
14:03 katsmeow-afk i dunno
14:04 katsmeow-afk just giving prices
14:04 katsmeow-afk i paid a ton more than $2.50 for my water filters
14:05 katsmeow-afk the Generacs, i dunno, both were junked by a guy who installs them and he said both burn stuff up, both run on natrual gas (which i can't get) or propane(which i can't get)
14:06 katsmeow-afk one has 580 hrs on it, and no maintenace log entries, the othe is even older
14:07 katsmeow-afk but i am trying to avoid buring more oil, gas, or gasoline
14:21 katsmeow-afk An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
14:27 katsmeow-afk One way to look at is, is that burning the wood is for heating, and some of the inefficiency is wasted making electricity.
16:43 katsmeow-afk or to think of it another way: i used propane to make light one winter, with a propane camp lantern, the waste heat kept me quite warm,,,, if i had burned the same amount of propane in a genny, then i'd have had free electricity and the exact same amount of warm heat
16:46 katsmeow-afk there is (was?) one central heat oem that used TV (think PV panels, but for (thermal) heat) to convert "waste" heat to electricity to run the furnace's blower, got the same heat output, no more fuel burned than normal
16:48 katsmeow-afk some rough calculations show the Mercruiser V6 2-cycle, once converted to 200psi "steam", can make 500ft-lbs and some unknown rpm, with enough "waste" steam energy to run a smaller aux steam engine for aux stuff
16:49 tsmeow-afk is waiting on someone to make "an app for that" : 3D wireless mouse for their tv/comp

18:55 Solarnrg Evening
19:58 katsmeow-afk the 5 igbt i picked up as part of the $19 haul are CM600HA-24H , 600amp, 1200amp_peak, 1200v, 4100 watt dissipation, Vce(sat) @ 600amps is only 2.5 volts
20:00 katsmeow-afk pic at http://theelectrostore.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/cm600ha-24h-new.html ($325)
20:05 eadthem dam
20:05 katsmeow-afk yeas
20:06 katsmeow-afk got 16 caps : 400v 4700ufd
20:12 tsmeow-afk puts all 5 in parallel and makes a 3000 amp variable speed drive for the truck starter m
20:13 katsmeow-afk makes me wish i had picked up the buss bars too, they were min 1" wide .1" thick solid copper
20:14 katsmeow-afk you know, that's 4000 hp worth of pwm controller ?
20:15 katsmeow-afk <cough>
20:16 tsmeow-afk still ponders 60amp@240vac Generacs at 25 cents/lb ,, $100 each g
20:18 tsmeow-afk looks at rue and f
20:32 e_house sits down with supper and tries to be
20:32 rue_house service call should not have taken all day
20:33 rue_house lunch would have been nice
20:33 rue_house getting sleep last night would have been nice too
20:34 tsmeow-afk would like rue's professional opinions on the disuccusion i was having with no one (but eadthem said "d
20:34 rue_house ok, I must first try to catch up on todays eating
20:34 tsmeow-afk
20:37 eadthem im just saying 600Amps and thats constant duty
20:37 tsmeow-afk
20:37 eadthem nice part
20:38 katsmeow-afk in a short enough pwm pulse situation, the 1200 amp rating applies
20:39 katsmeow-afk the 4100 watt heatsink allows 1600 amps at it's 2.5v saturation
20:39 katsmeow-afk so it gets down to the ac dissipation of the higher freq
20:40 eadthem how do you sink 4100W
20:40 eadthem how big is this thing?
20:41 katsmeow-afk the sink is ~20lbs
20:41 eadthem copper?
20:41 katsmeow-afk the CM600HA-24H is ~ 3x4 inches of copper
20:42 eadthem water?
20:43 katsmeow-afk no, the heat sink is double sided, ~8x12 mounting surface each side, with fins 3" long tween them, forced air, of course
20:43 katsmeow-afk if i had to run them at max dissipation, i'd switch to water
20:43 katsmeow-afk but atm, i have no source of 1000v 600amps
20:44 eadthem i was also thinking
20:44 eadthem thermal interfaces arnt very effective
20:44 katsmeow-afk copper is the best spreader out there tho
20:44 eadthem it would be better if doing water to mount it to a solid copper heat spreader and then use a insulative thermal interface to a water block
20:45 eadthem i mean rather tahn stickign the insulator between the device and spreader/block
20:45 eadthem man 4100W is hard to imagen in heat
20:45 katsmeow-afk why insulator?
20:46 katsmeow-afk not really, many water heaters use 4500 w elements, it's only 20amp@240v
20:46 eadthem true
20:46 eadthem i was thinking electrical isolation
20:46 eadthem from the water
20:47 katsmeow-afk these are already isolated
20:48 eadthem o
20:48 tsmeow-afk digs only the best out of the mud at the recycler's
20:49 eadthem what did you pull them out of?
20:49 katsmeow-afk not really, these i got as they came in, still inthe 5 gal bucket,, i buy electronics and some other stuff by the bucket
20:50 katsmeow-afk they came out of a 480v 3phase 192kvar variable freq ac motor driver
20:50 katsmeow-afk that's 250hp
20:51 tsmeow-afk fans eadthem and offers him a glass of w

20:58 m_itx turns the water into wine and returns it to katsmeow
20:58 Tom_itx looks like you might get wet
20:59 Tom_itx you did ask for some creek water right?
21:05 rue_house sorry kat, I'm still catching up
21:05 Tom_itx rue
21:05 Tom_itx what should i do with all this 4 cond ribbon?
21:05 rue_house tho I' had quite a 24 hrs and am thinking of collapsing
21:05 rue_house is it rainbow?
21:06 Tom_itx same stuff you got before
21:06 rue_house I cant remmeber if that was grey or rainbo
21:06 Tom_itx gray
21:06 rue_house copper bin!
21:06 rue_house :) if you want you can send it to me, I prefer rainbow tho
21:06 rue_house I use it for 3 pin jumpers for my avr boards/io devices
21:07 rue_house god I'm tired
21:07 Tom_itx prolly got another half a spool of it
21:08 rue_house http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1Pcs-Mini-3-LED-Solar-Power-Rechargeable-Flashlight-Keychain-Torch-Light-Red-NEW-/150823289775?pt=US_LED_Light_Key_Chains&hash=item231dc4c3af
21:08 rue_house solar cell AND an led for $
21:08 rue_house 1
21:08 rue_house poor cats
21:08 katsmeow-afk both the generacs are alledgedly frying anything plugged into them, i found a split hose to the pcv , so that one was for sure having engine rpm issues
21:09 rue_house kat, I"d like to hear more about your bounty,
21:09 katsmeow-afk oh
21:09 rue_house you should see the pile of firewood we brought back from the landfull
21:10 katsmeow-afk you can't landfill firewood
21:10 rue_house I dont know what an automatic transmission slipping clutch sounds like, but I think my truck has one
21:10 katsmeow-afk sounds like metal-on-metal sliding
21:11 katsmeow-afk unless..... it has no oil pessure in it
21:11 rue_house this sounds like a pump catitating
21:11 katsmeow-afk those things have filters that need periodic replacing, or they can't push on their actuators
21:11 rue_house just did, w/oil change
21:12 rue_house I cant stay awake, my attempt is failing miserably
21:13 katsmeow-afk then i'll stop trying to upload a pic of the igbt and diode and cap haul
21:13 katsmeow-afk i wanted your opinion on the generac brand
21:13 rue_house no I want to see that
21:14 rue_house is there a board and stuff too?
21:14 katsmeow-afk no
21:14 katsmeow-afk if it had no weight, they smashed it
21:15 rue_house lets see what lived
21:15 katsmeow-afk http://designerthinking.com/DSCF2941.jpg
21:16 katsmeow-afk i didn't get a pic of the heatsinks, the big one is dual sided with ~12x8 mounting surface, 3" long fins tween the surfaces
21:16 Tom_itx i thought generac was supposed to be good
21:17 katsmeow-afk thin black blocks are dual diodes, 600amp 1200v
21:17 katsmeow-afk the square black are igbt 600amp 1200v
21:17 katsmeow-afk the round are caps, 4700ufd 400v
21:17 Tom_itx kat how much rain you gettin?
21:17 katsmeow-afk none atm
21:17 rue_bed what goes wrong with human tonsles and why do they remove them, what are they for?
21:18 Tom_itx looks like you will
21:18 rue_bed are they the human venum glands?
21:18 katsmeow-afk tomatoes went dry, i was expecting rain and it didn't
21:18 katsmeow-afk err, umm, <blink> tonsils?
21:18 rue_bed sure
21:19 katsmeow-afk Tom, it's kinda falling apart : http://classic.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?ID=BMX
21:19 rue_bed wow, where is the other igbt?
21:19 rue_bed do they work?
21:19 rue_bed not fused?
21:19 katsmeow-afk weather is saying some models now have the not-yet-hurricane stalling over NewOrleans for a couple days
21:19 Tom_itx oh
21:20 katsmeow-afk other igbt?
21:20 katsmeow-afk i didn't find any more
21:20 rue_bed oh, I'd expect them in even numbers
21:20 rue_bed I presume the round things are ... those current things?
21:21 katsmeow-afk Tom, one of the Generacs has 850 hrs on it, and no maintenance record, that's the equiv, i think, of 38,000 highway miles?
21:21 katsmeow-afk round things with holes = current trasnfromers, found only 2
21:22 rue_bed in, out
21:23 katsmeow-afk Tom : http://www.goes.noaa.gov/EVENTS/EG24.JPG
21:23 Tom_itx saw that
21:23 Tom_itx surely some will get to you
21:24 katsmeow-afk pretty sure it will, but i have water up here, i filled the pool-tank, 2000 gallons lasts me a while
21:24 katsmeow-afk i have only 5 tomato plants to water
21:25 katsmeow-afk i planted more, but that's what i got
21:25 Tom_itx i got zero
21:26 katsmeow-afk i'm pretty sure the heat on the roof is stunting them, the one growing the best is in afternoon shade
21:32 katsmeow-afk dinner
21:38 furrywolf2 I'll probably vanish soon... connection is not reliable.
21:40 rrywolf2 flops on katsmeow-afk after working all
22:05 Tom_itx rue_bed
22:06 Tom_itx did you see the heaters trif suggested?
22:08 eadthem mmm well a hurrocane isnt exactly the way i wanted it
22:09 eadthem but we will get rain finaly
22:40 tsmeow-afk looks t
22:41 rrywolf2 pets tired
22:41 tsmeow-a
22:42 tsmeow-af
22:42 tsmeow-af
22:43 katsmeow-afk damn, those Generacs are $3000 each?
22:44 furrywolf2 umm... yes?
22:44 rrywolf2 has no clue what kat is talking a
22:44 katsmeow-afk and i can get two for $100 each?
22:45 katsmeow-afk why didn't i jump on that? oh,, the NG/LPG thing
22:45 katsmeow-afk and that both are reported to fry electronics
22:46 furrywolf2 I'm sure a small bit of filtering or regulation can fix any frying properties they have.
22:46 katsmeow-afk yeas, cept for that bit about i cannot fuel it
22:46 Tom_itx but you could convert it no?
22:47 Tom_itx you don't have lp?
22:47 Tom_itx or ng?
22:47 katsmeow-afk nope
22:47 katsmeow-afk i have a couple 15 gal portable tanks
22:47 katsmeow-afk for camp stuff and cutting torch
22:51 furrywolf2 wood gas :)
22:51 furrywolf2 or tire gas
22:52 katsmeow-afk yeas,, somone did some math showing 6000lbs of wood needed per week to keep a big genny like that going
22:52 furrywolf2 at least, the one and only propane carb I've seen regulated it down to atmospheric first, which would be perfect for sucking in an unpressurized gas like that...
22:53 furrywolf2 at full power, maybe...
22:54 katsmeow-afk my 4kw sucks fuel even at no load, i believe cause it's turing 3600 rpm, and so is these 14kw generacs
22:55 furrywolf2 charge batteries as needed, don't run it other times?
22:57 Triffid_Hunter mm when I get a generator, I'm gonna look for an inverter generator.. they have an alternator that delivers 350vdc and a h-bridge to chop it into an AC-ish shape
22:57 katsmeow-afk For natural gas at ½ load, the 14kW uses 156 cubic feet per hour. For liquid propane at ½ load, the 14kW uses 1.56 gallons per hour. Refer to the 14kW spec sheet for additional fuel consumption data.
22:58 Tom_itx i keep one around for storms
22:58 katsmeow-afk i kept one around against storms
22:59 furrywolf2 hrmm... my 2kw gas uses 1/3 gal/hour at half load... so it's only using 5 times the volume of a less-dense fuel to produce 14 times the power? must be a lot more efficient.
23:00 Tom_itx what's a good way to measure the actual current going to a stepper?
23:00 furrywolf2 shunt resistor
23:00 Tom_itx i've got some drivers but i'm not sure how to set them up. they've got a pot on them for current limit but i don't know what the limits are
23:00 katsmeow-afk a *real* pricey true power meter, or a scope and rough guess/math
23:00 Tom_itx 3A drivers i believe
23:01 katsmeow-afk i thought you had the mill set up and working nicely already
23:01 Tom_itx it is
23:01 Tom_itx i'm not talking about those drivers
23:01 katsmeow-afk o
23:02 Tom_itx i'm very happy with thoe
23:02 Tom_itx those
23:02 furrywolf2 I need a bigger mill.
23:02 Tom_itx i'm considering putting a print head on mine
23:03 furrywolf2 the size of my sherline is just too limiting...
23:03 Triffid_Hunter Tom_itx: all good stepper driver ICs have current sense, just use the existing shunt
23:05 Tom_itx they are sealed units
23:05 Tom_itx not sure where to poke around on them
23:09 rrywolf2 pokes around katsmeow-afk, caref
23:11 katsmeow-afk mou?
23:12 katsmeow-afk i chained that dead tree today, i got to get it down tomorrow
23:12 katsmeow-afk i hope the chain guides it down right where it won't hurt anything, including other trees
23:13 katsmeow-afk it's got a lot of lean to it
23:29 Tom_itx be careful
23:29 katsmeow-afk ok :-(
23:30 Tom_itx i've experience with cutting trees but not big ones
23:30 Tom_itx over 30' or so i suppose
23:30 katsmeow-afk i've cut them down, and dug up trees this size
23:31 Tom_itx i've done ones others didn't want to
23:31 katsmeow-afk this is ~70ft, all dead, not a leaf on it in two yrs, bark falling off it
23:31 Tom_itx but not recently
23:31 Tom_itx the dead ones are scary
23:31 katsmeow-afk yeas, whic is why i'd preferred a robot to do it
23:32 Tom_itx i climbed a big dead one once to help a guy
23:32 Tom_itx he ended up in the hospital when he did something i told him not to
23:32 Tom_itx so i finished it by myself
23:32 katsmeow-afk i jerked it around alil this afternoon once i had the chain on it, and nothing fell, and i'll be cutting really slowly tomorrow
23:32 Tom_itx prolly 5' diameter or so
23:33 Tom_itx just don't let it fall on what you're pulling with
23:33 katsmeow-afk this is ~16 dia where i'll cut it
23:33 katsmeow-afk why not?
23:33 Tom_itx a truck?
23:33 katsmeow-afk no
23:33 Tom_itx or just chain?
23:34 Tom_itx i'm sure you work smart
23:34 Tom_itx i have no doubts
23:34 katsmeow-afk chain to one side so it cannot fall and hit cars, or garage or house, and pull rope on comealong to convince it to fall tween two good trees
23:34 katsmeow-afk chain and comealong are to other trees
23:34 Tom_itx sleep calls
23:35 katsmeow-afk chain and comealong at 90 degrees to each other
23:35 Tom_itx yeah
23:35 Tom_itx gnite
23:35 katsmeow-afk and, i have the comalong offset by another tree, so i can stay by/behind it as the dead tree falls 30ft from me
23:36 katsmeow-afk gnite
23:37 furrywolf2 this sounds like a good use of shape charges. you should be >31ft from the tree. :)
23:38 katsmeow-afk i has no shape charges
23:38 katsmeow-afk 10ft of det cord would do it too
23:39 furrywolf2 :)
23:40 rrywolf2 curls up next to katsmeow-afk and y
23:41 furrywolf2 meh... I'm getting a $393 paycheck... I have $290 in bills.
23:41 katsmeow-afk US experts found B3, also known as nicotinamide, boosts the ability of immune cells to kill Staphylococcus bacteria.
23:41 katsmeow-afk B3 increases the numbers and efficacy of neutrophils, white blood cells that can kill and eat harmful bugs.
23:42 furrywolf2 actually, $330. forgot the cell phone.
23:42 furrywolf2 why do expenditures have to come before revenue when starting a business? bleh. :)
23:43 katsmeow-afk it's a human thing
23:45 katsmeow-afk yanno, the specs that say the generacs suffer a lower output on LP are really saying they have maxed out the engine with NG, and it just cannot suck any additional air/fuel to make up for the lower btu of LP (without a turbocharger, anyhow)
23:46 furrywolf2 I thought it was the other way, with LP having a lot more energy than NG?
23:46 furrywolf2 I know you put in smaller orifices when converting appliances from NG to LP...
23:47 katsmeow-afk then they have something done wrong, either way, not warn fuzzies
23:54 katsmeow-afk zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
23:55 rrywolf2 tucks katsmeow-afk in, then curls up on top of
23:57 tsmeow-afk exh
23:59 furrywolf2 bedtime for me too. bbl.
