00:03 furrywolf a used quality vise has a much better life expectancy than a new chinese one.
00:03 theBear heh, then try searching zappa lyrics for vise :)
00:05 furrywolf lol
00:06 theBear heh, someone knows zappa lyrics :)
00:07 furrywolf I'm not a huge zappa fan... Freak Out was about the only album I'd claim to actually like...
00:07 furrywolf which I have, on vinyl of course.
00:07 furrywolf (no, that song isn't on it)
00:08 theBear nah, it's sheik yerbouti i do belive... used to be the test cd at my first real repair job... blew my frickin mind !
00:08 katsmeow-afk i added two pics to the benchpsu page
00:08 katsmeow-afk this is the front panel of psu with holes being installed, and shows my lil vise : http://designerthinking.com/images/benchpsu/DSCF2104c.jpg
00:09 katsmeow-afk this is the panel with things in some of the holes : http://designerthinking.com/images/benchpsu/DSCF2106c.jpg
00:09 ferdna COOOOOOL
00:10 katsmeow-afk the vise is nicely mobile that way
00:10 katsmeow-afk i countersunk the boltheads into the bottom of the steel plate, and added short rubber feets, then removed the feets
00:12 furrywolf theBear: best bit if music humor I've heard lately is iggy pop says if they want to make a biopic on him, lindsey lohan needs to play him in it. :)
00:13 theBear hehe
00:17 furrywolf I don't have any of his albums right now... should get some.
00:18 furrywolf I have probably 5 things featuring him, but none of his stuff. lool
00:18 furrywolf lol
00:18 theBear nice for a listening change once in a while..
00:19 rrywolf likes a wide variety of m
00:19 furrywolf except not rap, hiphop, pop, new age,...
00:20 theBear hehe, yeah well, most of that isn't really music is it ? :)
00:20 furrywolf lol
00:21 ferdna furrywolf, that Wilton 63302 is made in china...
00:21 ferdna http://www.amazon.com/Wilton-63302-6-Inch-Shop-Vise/product-reviews/B00004XPVO/ref=cm_cr_dp_qt_hist_one?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addOneStar&showViewpoints=0
00:22 ferdna original amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Wilton-63302-6-Inch-Shop-Vise/dp/B00004XPVO/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
00:22 furrywolf not surprising, given it's a tenth the price or so.
00:23 furrywolf Yost, like you were pasting earlier, also has the $1000+ usa line and the $100 chinese line.
00:23 ferdna i see
00:24 ferdna so i should go for the harbor freight one... instead of the wilton?
00:24 furrywolf might as well. they'll all break instantly.
00:24 furrywolf no reason to spend more and have it break just as fast.
00:25 ferdna katsmeow-afk, do you agree?
00:26 furrywolf I was quite pissed when, after breaking my Craftsman one instantly, I saw it said china on the bottom...
00:26 furrywolf another name brand deciding to save money.
00:27 furrywolf harbor freight is actually better at honoring their warranty than sears these days.
00:28 furrywolf sears now requires the original sales receipt, which is utter bullshit. the craftsman website says you don't need it, but the store people say you do.
00:28 katsmeow-afk i would get the size you need to hold things
00:29 katsmeow-afk make sure it's a steel screw, and figure it's real cheap steel, and don't put all your weight on it
00:30 katsmeow-afk the body will be cast recycled iron, don't do more pounding than light taps with a 10oz hammer
00:30 furrywolf the craftsman I broke had an undersized screw... it should have been about twice the diameter.
00:30 katsmeow-afk if you need an anvil to beat on with a 2lb sledge, get an anvil (railroad works well)
00:31 rrywolf has beaten on things with a 10lb sl
00:31 katsmeow-afk if i ever need a vise that drips testosterone on the floor, i'll make it to do so, with inch-thick steel and 1.5" screw
00:32 katsmeow-afk me too
00:32 rrywolf would instead take a picture of it with the same size-comparrison objects on the we
00:32 katsmeow-afk and bent lug nut bars, 1/2 ratches and breaker bars, and bent my 3/4 breakerbar
00:32 katsmeow-afk i know how to break things, the trick is how to not break them, but still get them to do work
00:33 furrywolf heh
00:33 theBear heh, the trick is to hit them with your biggest hammer and still not break them :)
00:33 furrywolf I bent my nice proto 1/2" breaker bar a couple months ago, taking off lug nuts the local tire shop yokel ran tight with the impact wrench.
00:33 katsmeow-afk well, the right hammer for the job witht he tools you have
00:33 eBear has grown quite fond of doing good work with completely inappropriate tools over the y
00:34 tsmeow-afk nods to
00:34 furrywolf me too, but I prefer to have the right tool.
00:34 furrywolf and every weekend of yard sales, I come closer to making sure I have the right tool for anything.
00:35 katsmeow-afk a vise is such a simple tool and there's so many variations on the theme of "here, hold this", if you need one, praps you have the tools to make one that you cannot break
00:36 furrywolf you can break anything. :)
00:37 katsmeow-afk reall, 2 pieces of 3" channel, a 6 inch long 1" allthread (and a couple nuts for it), and a door hinge, you can make a heck of a vise
00:37 theBear funny how you adapt to tools/workshops... i've never had any kind of vice 'at home' over the years and never really noticed, but where i was staying until yesterday in the big old workshop with a HUGE vintage style leaf-spring vice on the side of the bench, and a nice little square metalworkey style one on the front, i find myself using them as much as the workbench itself
00:38 furrywolf I've had several.
00:38 furrywolf I have a couple more in storage, need to dig them out...
00:38 furrywolf a harbor freight rotating one, and a name-brand under-bench woodworking one.
00:39 furrywolf see how long before someone steals them too.
00:39 rrywolf has found, like katsmeow-afk, that humans are the worst proble
00:40 katsmeow-afk or visegrips to hold all the jigs you are constantly making to hold things that won't go in a vise : DesignerThinking.com/images/bighull/DSCF2247.jpg
00:40 rrywolf curls up on katsmeow-afk for bed
00:41 katsmeow-afk DesignerThinking.com/images/hullribform/IMG_0023.jpg
00:42 ferdna going to bed... good night... and thanks for the information i will go with that wilton after all
00:42 katsmeow-afk yeas, it's after midnite
00:42 theBear my medium/mini vicegrips ARE in the set of 'everyday' handtools... great for holding stuff while soldering and gluing and all kindsa crap
00:43 theBear wtf ? has recent ffox turned off middle click/paste to go to page off in recent versions ?
00:43 theBear oooh, the old polysquare, essential tool for general purpose circular saw ninjarey
00:43 katsmeow-afk HF had some really tiey ones years ago, great for holding the odd wire or control shaft or just adding a lil weight to something for soldering
00:45 theBear damn, that's a LOTTA welding clamps/vicegrips you got there
00:46 katsmeow-afk and you see i use them all ? the big ones, the pipegrips, the little ones too
00:46 katsmeow-afk i have at least 2 5gal buckets full of vise grips, and i have still run out
00:47 theBear i only got one pair :(
00:47 katsmeow-afk they are not on sale much anymore, they cost more usually, and i have almost enough
00:50 rrywolf waits for pets before falling as
00:51 tsmeow-afk lays apaw on furry soulder cause theres no energy for
00:51 rrywolf considers that good enough.
00:53 furrywolf bbl :)
00:53 katsmeow-afk zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
08:36 Banker hi
08:36 tobbor hi Banker.
08:36 Steffanx hi
08:36 Banker im wondering if a roomba can be used to clean a horizontal solar panel farm?
08:37 Banker panels can lose up to 25% efficiency due to dust and other stuff, and worse when horizonatl
09:45 Elleo Banker: might it not be cheaper and more reliable to simply install remotely controlled windscreen wipers on each panel?
09:48 Banker a roomba is like $400 though
09:48 Banker wouldnt wipers cost more if you have a medium sized solar fvarm?
09:49 theBear maybe something like a 'rail', even pulley system, that just sweeped a big wiper across a whole section of the array
10:01 furrywolf horizontal panels lose a lot more than 25% efficiency just due to being horizontal, unless you're in the tropics.
10:01 furrywolf worry about that first.
10:02 furrywolf most real solar farms I've seen use a travelling pressure washer arrangement. you could rig up one of these pretty easily with an electric pressure washer, a hose reel, a track, and a motor.
10:03 furrywolf the dirt and dust on panels tends to stick on very tightly, more than a vacuum can remove.
10:03 furrywolf depending on the layout of the panels, if you have them in long parallel rows with the edges lines up, you might even be able to use the edges of the array as the track.
10:04 furrywolf also, yay! just bought a pair of feeldoes on ebay. hopefully this time they turn out to be real ones, not chinese clones like the last two I bought...
10:05 Banker furrywolf: ecuador is doing 40 cents per kwh feedin, im thinking about setting up a small farm
10:05 furrywolf if you want to do it on the cheap, check when the next SMUD auction is.
10:06 furrywolf you can get monocrystalline panels for $.25/watt or so.
10:06 Banker you mean poly? mono is supposed o be more expensive
10:06 Banker no idea i was so cheap
10:06 Banker it
10:06 furrywolf they're used pulls
10:07 Banker from ebay??
10:07 furrywolf smud had two schemes, one with a few large power plants, the other with distributed generation on people's roofs. both systems have been being decommisioned lately, and auctioned off by the truckload.
10:07 Banker nice
10:07 furrywolf no, not ebay. a real auction, where you show up in person.
10:07 Banker where do i get it?
10:08 Banker i dont get why people decommission solar
10:09 furrywolf you contact SMUD and ask when their next auction is, or if they can alert you when they have one. they're every year or so I think.
10:09 Banker ok ty
10:10 Banker sacramento municpal utility district?
10:10 furrywolf yep
10:10 furrywolf http://www1.eere.energy.gov/solar/pdfs/pvmrw2011_p47_csi_mccabe.pdf has some historical information on the winning bids
10:12 furrywolf I own 10 of the 80W solec panels, and they work just fine, despite being older.
10:13 furrywolf they were pulls from one of smud's larger plants.
10:13 Banker in ecuador, 40 cent per kwh, lets say 6 sun hours per day, that'll be about 50kw panels will give you about $100 a day return
10:14 furrywolf I don't see anything online about their auctions, so you'll need to contact them for more information.
10:14 Banker okay
10:15 furrywolf even at that price, and using used panels, you'll still have a 5+ year time until you're making money, and will need significant investment for the time until then.
10:16 Banker i really want to try solar in ecuador but afraid of theft. some ideas i had is to put some alarm in so if a solar panel is disconnected, calls me and thte police
10:16 furrywolf generally you put up a fence, with motion detectors, a guard,...
10:16 Banker speedevil suggested i use landmines
10:17 furrywolf you know, 12ft of chain link with barbed wire on top...
10:17 Banker i read as of 2012 may, only one or two companies have decided to build in ecuador, 11MW total
10:18 furrywolf hence why they're offering a large feed-in tarrif.
10:18 Banker because poverty and crime there is quite high i think
10:18 Banker im afraid they might lower the tariff for existing panels, have that ever been done?
10:19 furrywolf sure
10:19 furrywolf ask speedevil about it; they just did it there.
10:20 Banker i think they lowered feedin for panels built august 1 and later, earlier not applicable
10:21 furrywolf now if you really want fun, build a thermal plant. :P
10:22 Banker they only give 11 cents per kwh in that country
10:23 Banker i cant afford the parts for that
10:26 Banker im thinking a good way to deter theft is to mount it so it cant be emoved without damage
10:29 furrywolf that won't work.
10:29 furrywolf it can always be removed, even if it takes a saw or a chain to the bumper of a truck.
10:29 furrywolf high fences, motion detectors, and a guard will work much better.
10:30 furrywolf or lots of cameras and remote monitoring, cheaper than a guard.
10:32 Banker is there a way to make it so an alarm is triggered when a panel is disconnected?
10:32 furrywolf sure.
10:32 furrywolf but it's too late by then.
10:32 furrywolf fences, motion detectors, cameras.
10:32 Banker ok
10:33 furrywolf you do realize a 50kw systems is going to be a substantial investment, right?
10:33 Banker at least $200k
10:34 furrywolf panels, land, wiring, utility connections, grid-tie inverters, security, transportation, construction, maintenance,...
10:34 Banker i can construct and maintain it
10:34 furrywolf there's still costs. :P
10:35 Banker how cheap do you think a 50kw grid tied system can be made? assume $4000 for land with utility
10:35 furrywolf hrmm... buy a bunch of chinese 600W grid-tie inverters for cheap, make pre-assembled 600W racks of panels, and start a program where you put them on people's roofs and split the profit.
10:35 Banker what i am thinking is build it, and sell it like stocks in a company to ecuadorians
10:36 Banker in units of per panel
10:36 furrywolf I suspect just the utility connection will cost more than.
10:36 furrywolf more than that
10:36 Banker :o
10:36 Banker really??
10:37 furrywolf you're not going to get this under a residential service.
10:37 Banker ic
10:37 furrywolf and while I'm not too familiar with the power companies in ecuador, I expect they're like the ones in the US, where commercial is much more expensive.
10:38 furrywolf you'll probably also need permits, reviews, inspections, and approval from the power company.
10:38 furrywolf they don't like large generators on the ends of lines, messes up power distribution, safety issues, etc.
10:39 Banker bummer
10:39 Banker i guess i cant do it then
10:39 Banker about how much money do you think utility connection might be? minimum if in ideal location
10:40 Banker maybe i can find land that alraedy has utility connection
10:40 furrywolf dunno, no idea about the details in a country I've never looked at. heh.
10:41 furrywolf you might try partnering with an existing commercial/industrial facility, which will provide land, utilities, and security.
10:41 furrywolf doesn't ecuador have a corruption problem? might need to budget grease money too.
10:41 Banker yes
10:42 Banker im thinking if i sell enough to politicians they wont lower tariffs
10:42 Banker then i can work installing panels
10:42 furrywolf national energy policies take more money than you have.
10:48 furrywolf heh, according to the paper, this year had the lowest voter turnout in history. guess I'm not the only one who decided every candidate for every position sucked so fucking badly it wasn't even worth picking one.
10:49 Banker i never voted in my life and never will
10:50 Banker if a robot ran for president i would register to vote though
10:50 Banker or a chimp
10:50 furrywolf lol
10:50 furrywolf didn't we have one of those last time?
10:50 Banker if bush ran a third time i would regiser to vote
10:50 Banker at least he was funny
10:50 furrywolf both a robot and a chimp, in that everything he did was controlled by someone else, and when they weren't around, he acted like a chimp...
10:51 Banker his freudian slips are profound enough to be considered zen sayings
10:52 furrywolf http://www.ebay.com/itm/140765289599 waiting, is the hardest part... </tom petty>
10:52 Banker whats the item? it wants me to put in credit cardr info and junk
10:53 furrywolf a feeldoe, which I got for $10. hopefully this time it will be a real one, not a chinese clone like last time...
10:53 furrywolf I hate the period between paying for something and it getting here. we need overnight shipping to be standard and cheap. :)
10:55 Banker i think overnight shipping should be abolished
10:55 Banker and mail delivered only twice a week
10:56 Banker it would reduce cost of post office
10:56 furrywolf mail is delivered here zero times a week.
10:57 furrywolf we have to have po boxes, and pick it up there.
10:57 Banker that sucks
10:57 Banker when the mexicans in california revolt you'll be safe though
10:57 Banker good tradeoff
10:59 Banker i stole a bunch of solar ebooks from new york library recentrly
10:59 Banker interested?
11:00 furrywolf do they contain anything useful?
11:00 furrywolf that is, something of interest to someone who has a clue, not a homeowner?
11:00 Banker probably not
11:01 Banker i got a solar engineering one tho, talking about the physics of how solar panels work
11:01 furrywolf that might be interesting.
11:01 Banker a lo of useless info
11:01 Banker ok let me upload
11:01 furrywolf generally anything in a homeowner-grade book is not too useful. heh.
11:02 Banker it's 40mb, massive pv book
11:03 Banker wait wrong book :p
11:03 furrywolf sounds like it's a scan rather than a proper ebook.
11:03 Banker is 7z format okay?
11:04 Banker it's very clear not a scan
11:04 furrywolf never used 7z.
11:05 Banker this is the book btw http://www.amazon.com/Handbook-Photovoltaic-Science-Engineering-Antonio/dp/0471491969/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339084470&sr=8-1
11:05 Banker i just finished chapter 3 and i cant remember anything
11:05 Banker understood nothing
11:05 furrywolf lol
11:06 Banker https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByeMuqklMp19UDhDYUZFNHZzX1U
11:06 Banker damn, it split it for me
11:07 Banker if you click file, you can download though
11:07 furrywolf ... it's telling me I need to switch to chrome. lol
11:07 Banker it works for me on firefox
11:07 Banker it is available on torrent sites too
11:08 furrywolf seems to be working
11:08 furrywolf 87K/sec... my connection is in a good mood today. probably means no one else is awake and online yet.
11:09 Banker i spent two weeks stealing someone's 56k in new york
11:10 Banker it was so bad i couldnt even download a few mb without failing
11:11 furrywolf my connection varries from working great to being completely useless. seems to be interference.
11:12 furrywolf downloaded. thanks.
11:14 Banker this is another good one i got https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByeMuqklMp19WXo1UzBaV0FLVlk
11:14 Banker http://www.amazon.com/Alternative-Building-GreenSource-Mcgraw-Hills-Greensource/dp/0071621474/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339085035&sr=8-1
11:15 Banker i flipped throrugh it a bit, very interesting, talks about many kinds of energy saving things
11:20 furrywolf now my connection has dropped to 7K/sec.
11:20 furrywolf what did I change? nothing.
11:20 Banker a book i want is "Large-Scale Solar Power System Design " bu ti cant find
11:20 Banker maybe i should just fork over he money
11:22 furrywolf grrr, I wish I could painfully injure every webmaster who thinks redirecting 404s, discontinued products, etc to the main page is a good idea.
11:45 ferdna HELLO!!! =)
11:47 furrywolf heyas
11:47 rrywolf pokes around hackkitten's kitchen for break
11:51 hackkitten :o!!
11:51 hackkitten meow :<
11:51 hackkitten mah f00d~
11:52 rrywolf is hungry.
12:07 furrywolf gah! it's june and the weather forecast includes frost!
12:08 furrywolf chance of frost this weekend...
12:08 Steffanx Shit happens
12:10 furrywolf frost is bad for gardens.
12:17 rrywolf pokes around katsmeow-afk's kitchen for food, since hackkitten is mean and won't s
12:17 hackkitten :P
12:17 ckkitten feeds furrywolf cook
12:20 tsmeow-afk lets furry eat all the ramen he w
12:21 rrywolf wants real food, not cookies and ramen.
12:25 katsmeow-afk i am worred a lot about the weight on the roof
12:25 katsmeow-afk i wanted to do soilless, but dirt is free
12:27 furrywolf soilless gardening is very, very hard.
12:27 furrywolf as well as very very expensive.
12:27 katsmeow-afk that's why i said "but dirt is free"
12:28 katsmeow-afk it;s just that because of neighbors and their dogs, using the free dirt where it is and where it belongs is also hard
12:29 furrywolf build the beds to distribute the weight over as many rafters as possible?
12:30 katsmeow-afk it's still an enourmous weight
12:31 katsmeow-afk i am figuring roughly 100lbs/bucket , 50 buckets is 5000 lbs , the flat roof is mostly over the living-dining area where the room is 25x48 , that's a lot of clear span unsupported by direct verticals down to the ground
12:32 furrywolf bucket, as in 5 gallon bucket, or something larger?
12:32 katsmeow-afk the main roof supports there are 6x6 around the edges and 19" tall 25ft long open web steel beams 8ft on center
12:33 katsmeow-afk 5gal bucket
12:33 furrywolf shouldn't weigh that much...
12:33 katsmeow-afk AND, the roof as is is not supposed to have anything on it, it's latex over tar, the deck never got put on, i spent the money on lawyers because of the gods
12:33 furrywolf 50lbs or less, including plant.
12:34 furrywolf unless you're filling it with dense clay soil and completely saturating it, gauranteed to kill any non-swamp plant you put in it.
12:34 katsmeow-afk my scale goes to 35lbs, i should do something about that
12:35 katsmeow-afk it is a lot of hardpan clay, black dirt is hard to find here, hence the jackhammer
12:35 furrywolf my 4gal pots, with tomato plants, are probably 15 pounds after watering, using potting soil.
12:35 furrywolf yeah, don't use hardpan clay for container planting. :)
12:37 furrywolf potting soil is, however, expensive... probably my largest cost in the greenhouse.
12:37 katsmeow-afk whent he paved road was put in, they scraped the top of the mountain and put it all on my property, there's over 6" of good soil up there, where i put the garden, and got arrested for tending it
12:38 furrywolf sawdust is good for mixing into soil, and easy enough to make...
12:38 katsmeow-afk the rest of the mountain is very steep, within 6" it's absolutely impossible to put a shovel in, if i do get the shovel in 1/4 inch, it will stand up on it's own
12:38 furrywolf makes it lighter and hold water better, as well as decomposing into nutrients.
12:39 katsmeow-afk sawdust depletes nitrogen badly as it decomposes
12:39 katsmeow-afk i can't go buying stuff to make the garden cost more than buying the food in the store
12:40 furrywolf heh
12:40 furrywolf have any friends with horses?
12:40 katsmeow-afk 10yrs+ of not having access to my own land also means 10 yrs of not amending the soil
12:40 katsmeow-afk no
12:40 furrywolf rabbits? chickens?
12:41 katsmeow-afk no
12:43 katsmeow-afk the biggest reasons for me having a grass yard around the house was for rabbits and forest fires, the gods wouldn't let me tend to that either
12:43 furrywolf you can try mulching grass or other stuff from your property...
12:44 katsmeow-afk humans don't realise this, but over the last decade, that damned neighbor has cost me AT LEAST $28,000 in *good* food money for me not having a garden and rabbits or chickens on my 12 acres
12:45 katsmeow-afk tween non-garden and the lawyers, it's why i am over debted
12:45 katsmeow-afk $50/week adds up fast over 10 yrs
12:46 furrywolf don't forget to go on the roof and pee in a different pot every morning. good for the plants and pissing off the neighbors immensely. :)
12:46 katsmeow-afk yeas, i can just see me squatting down on a tomato plant
12:47 tsmeow-afk builds a garden hose to pee
12:47 rrywolf sends katsmeow-afk a
12:47 tsmeow-afk doesn't wanna
12:48 furrywolf Female Urination Device
12:48 tsmeow-afk doesn't wanna
12:48 furrywolf http://www.go-girl.com/ etc
12:48 katsmeow-afk why not just pee in the water recirc tank?
12:48 rrywolf is good at providing too much informa
12:48 katsmeow-afk or on the compost? or etc
12:49 furrywolf that doesn't piss of the neighbors as much.
12:51 katsmeow-afk my roofline is like _/|-------|\_ , where ------ is almost flat, just enough tilt to the center rain drains, and | is vertical skylites
12:51 katsmeow-afk so they can't see if i piss there or not
12:52 katsmeow-afk it's a fine place to take a shower, actually, if it's dark enough the passing planes cannot see me
12:52 furrywolf ah, oh well.

14:46 furrywolf http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/06/07/microsoft_combats_flame_with_additional_hardening/ gee, really, automatically downloading and installing software is a bad idea? I think I mentioned that as soon as they came up with windows update...
14:55 furrywolf I'm surprised it took so long for someone to exploit it.
15:45 Steffann Yeah, and people without the automatic update.. just never update
15:49 furrywolf you also have to love how they did the man-in-the-middle bit... windows is perfectly happy to accept proxy information from any source, and without telling the user, begin routing all their traffic through it.
15:51 furrywolf bbl, time for work

21:30 acekitteh giggles and hides under her
21:30 furrywolf I just bought two feeldoes on ebay, one regular, one slim. At least, the seller said they were feeldoes. The last one I tried buying had pictures of a real one, then they sent me a chinese clone. Hopefully these aren't fake too...

21:35 spacekitteh yeah, i'mma :3
21:38 katsmeow-afk i wonder why it's called that
21:39 furrywolf like a strap-on dildo, but with a lot more feel for the wearer? dunno
21:39 furrywolf you looked up what it is, right?
21:39 katsmeow-afk that's still no explaination
21:39 katsmeow-afk it's "doe" , not "do"
21:39 furrywolf because it's for women.
21:40 furrywolf if it were for men, it'd be a feelbuck. :)
21:40 furrywolf which I think they also sell.
21:40 acekitteh gig
21:40 katsmeow-afk why would a buck need one?
21:40 spacekitteh dp + prostate

21:45 spacekitteh x3
21:46 katsmeow-afk i presume you can use a feeldoe in missionary tho
21:47 furrywolf yes
21:47 furrywolf but you know what I was implying.
21:47 furrywolf he isn't interested in any of this kinky stuff we're talking about.
21:47 spacekitteh VANILLAAAAAAAAAAAAA
21:49 furrywolf yes
21:50 Tom_itx just not channel appropriate is all
21:51 furrywolf what, you want us to build sex robots instead?
21:51 katsmeow-afk yeas, all this alt tech should be interms related to robots
21:52 ace4016 spacekitteh, i did some work with MPC in grad school...slightly fun stuff
21:52 ace4016 not sure you can dedicate an entire book to it
21:52 spacekitteh hmk

21:53 furrywolf Our customer service email address is GRITS@feeldoe.com
21:53 furrywolf It's southern code for who lived to tell about it!
21:53 theBear lol
21:53 furrywolf hrmm, that didn't paste right.
21:53 theBear if i worked there i'd insist on links@ just to fit in
21:54 furrywolf "Our customer service email address is GRITS@feeldoe.com It's southern code for Girls Raised In The South who lived to tell about it!"
21:54 furrywolf because, like kats has found, the south doesn't like girls. especially not independent ones.
21:55 spacekitteh ):
21:55 tsmeow-afk
21:55 theBear it's fine with girls if they got no teeth and are tougher than most of the men
21:55 ace4016 spacekitteh, i made a solver for large scale problems
21:55 ace4016 with MPC
21:55 theBear "oooh, that's a face you could chip yer teeth on" <grin>
21:56 ace4016 spacekitteh, kind of neat how you use a little window of the past, present and future to compute the control law more accurately
21:56 spacekitteh indeed :3
21:58 furrywolf "Mia's the only one around here who is Not a disabled American vet" ohh! lesbians and gays in the miltary! the world is coming to an end, troops will have too low of morale to be able to fight, etc, etc, etc.
21:59 acekitteh gig
22:00 katsmeow-afk i dunno, i have seen that if you want something done, tell the les dommes, and they'll see to it their slaves get it done, no questions
22:01 spacekitteh :3
22:01 tsmeow-afk looks at
22:01 spacekitteh it's true :3
22:01 katsmeow-afk yeas
22:02 katsmeow-afk i noticed one place i worked, all the top women in their depts were some pretty determined lesbians
22:02 spacekitteh hehehe
22:06 tsmeow-afk cusses at usps: package got to usa in 2.5 days, going to sit in NewYork for a
22:06 furrywolf heh
22:07 furrywolf I mailed something to someone in ##electronics tuesday afternoon, and he got it this morning, all the way from CA to VA in under two days.
22:08 ace4016 kats, gubermints has to scan the imported goods; make sure nothing fishy is going through :P
22:09 katsmeow-afk i figure the trip from China is done the long way, cause if it was the short way all they haveto do is lift the 747 off the ground and let the planet rotate till NewYork is under it, then land, should be ~13 time zones?
22:10 spacekitteh x3
22:13 katsmeow-afk something from NY is expected delivery Monday, 5 days
22:13 katsmeow-afk it will pass the item from China sitting in the NY processing station
22:14 katsmeow-afk brb
22:14 furrywolf I've had that happen... I've also had things get here in a total of 5 days from order placed to in my mailbox.
22:14 furrywolf seems to depend on how busy the post office is, or something.
22:24 spacekitteh :3
22:26 furrywolf and really amazingly, it was a DX order. dx almost never ships same day.
22:27 furrywolf meh... I have lots of stuff I should be doing, but I'm too exhausted to do any of it.
22:28 rrywolf hangs out in #lesbianrobotics instead of doing anything us
22:28 katsmeow-afk heh
22:29 theBear heh
22:30 rrywolf isn't sure about kat, being an independent woman with mechanical skills and al
22:31 spacekitteh aw
22:31 spacekitteh i totally joined that channel
22:31 spacekitteh empty ):
22:32 furrywolf you're already in the one I was referring to. :P
22:32 katsmeow-afk furry, it really would not matter, being the slightest bit disabled turns *everyone* off irl
22:33 theBear not EVERYONE... then again, you'll never find anyone else like me
22:33 theBear actually.. some disabilities are popular with more than the odd person... well, at least, oddities
22:34 furrywolf ... lol
22:35 spacekitteh katsmeow-afk: indeed ):
22:36 katsmeow-afk wow, there are a couple lesbian channels on freenode, when was that opensourced??
22:37 spacekitteh yeah :p
22:37 spacekitteh are you talking about #al and #rl
22:37 spacekitteh ?
22:37 katsmeow-afk no, never heard of them
22:37 spacekitteh oh
22:37 spacekitteh what then? o;
22:38 katsmeow-afk reddit-lesbians and actuallesbians
22:38 spacekitteh yeah
22:38 spacekitteh #rl and #al
22:39 furrywolf wtf is a reddit-lesbian?
22:39 spacekitteh iunno, they're both reddit channels
22:39 katsmeow-afk not in the channel listing
22:40 katsmeow-afk neither is listed
22:41 katsmeow-afk #rl is a chinese boy band, #al is arklinux , how is either of thos anything to do with lesbians??
22:42 spacekitteh #rl = #reddit-lesbians
22:42 spacekitteh #al = #actuallesbians
22:42 furrywolf hrmm, freenode's /list seems broken.
22:42 katsmeow-afk o
22:43 katsmeow-afk well, now you know there IS a actual #rl and an actual #al
22:43 furrywolf or maybe I'm just spoiled with bahamut's and its working filtering.
22:43 katsmeow-afk furry, i got freenode's /list
22:43 katsmeow-afk it's the /links that got busted
22:43 acekitteh gig
22:43 furrywolf yeah, it gives a /list, but it won't filter the results. if you do /list *foo*, it still returns every channel, not just those with foo in the name.
22:44 katsmeow-afk i don't filter that way, i dl thelist so i can filter from the cache
22:44 katsmeow-afk that way repeated searches don't re-download
22:45 katsmeow-afk there's 11,690 channels tho, may take a while for you
22:45 furrywolf but there's nothing to re-download if it only returns just relevant results. no need to download all zillion or so channels when you're just going to filter it down to a few.
22:45 furrywolf -:- CTCP PING reply from furrywolf: 116.380 seconds
22:45 furrywolf it took that long for me.
22:45 furrywolf lol
22:45 furrywolf well, plus ~10 seconds or so, as I typed out the ping after I did the list...
22:45 katsmeow-afk i tend to re-filter with different terms
22:46 katsmeow-afk [ChanServ PING reply]: 1 sec
22:46 katsmeow-afk [furrywolf PING reply]: 1 sec
22:46 katsmeow-afk http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18352293
22:47 furrywolf I know. the ~2 minutes was how long it took the /list to get sent.
22:48 furrywolf I pinged myself during the list, and it didn't make it back until after the /list was completely sent, as it got put in the back of the queue.
22:49 tsmeow-afk debates visiting a channel she was not invited to like t
