07:51 Steffanx Ha KongfuPanda
07:58 KongfuPanda Hi Steffanx , what's up, dude?
07:58 Steffanx Tha sky bro
07:58 Steffanx How is it in Pandaland?
07:59 KongfuPanda WOOOT???
07:59 KongfuPanda it's good, thanks
07:59 Steffanx Great
08:00 KongfuPanda Steffanx, are you watching Sky TV channel then?
08:00 Steffanx No, you?
08:00 KongfuPanda no
08:00 KongfuPanda how come the Sky is up for you?
08:00 Steffanx No, not sky… THA SKY
08:00 KongfuPanda :D I'm joking
08:01 KongfuPanda Steffanx, what have you been up to recently?
08:01 Steffanx Nothing, really
08:02 KongfuPanda Steffanx, remind me what you do for living?
08:02 Steffanx Around programming stuff, .net mostly
08:03 Steffanx 3 days a week, the rest of the week im just being a lazy ass :P
08:03 KongfuPanda omg
08:04 KongfuPanda what can you make with .net programming?
08:05 rizlah u cen mekke wot u wont.
08:05 Steffanx Most of the time i just write interfaces/protocols for external devices
08:05 rizlah dot net is th futur
08:06 Steffanx rizlah is imitating some american accent?
08:06 KongfuPanda Steffanx, like GUI interfaces for devices? what kind of devices? peripherals or more like motors, servos, controllers?
08:06 rizlah I'm imitating a drooling retard.
08:06 Steffanx No, not that kind of devices
08:06 Steffanx No need to imitate rizlah :P
08:07 rizlah Ö!
08:07 Steffanx Industrial (ethernet) I/O's, barriers and related management systems etc.
08:07 Steffanx That kind of devies
08:08 Steffanx And once in a while a usb camera
08:09 Steffanx Nothing robotics related KongfuPanda :(
08:10 Steffanx And how is your physics (iirc) going?
08:10 KongfuPanda it's ok
08:10 KongfuPanda I got a PhD offer in material science from next year
08:11 KongfuPanda :D so I will be Dr Panda soon
08:11 KongfuPanda (well, after 3.5 years)
08:11 Steffanx Sounds difficult :)
08:11 KongfuPanda hopefully I can discover something amazing, that can change the world
08:11 Steffanx hehe
08:12 KongfuPanda do you know about graphene?
08:12 Steffanx You should talk to Laurenceb in ##stm32 .. he is also into physics and a PhD in that iirc :)
08:13 KongfuPanda what's his area?
08:13 Steffanx Uhm…
08:14 Steffanx (Don't remember)
08:19 Steffanx A PhD takes at least 3 years KongfuPanda ?
08:20 KongfuPanda 3.5 years
08:20 KongfuPanda for me
08:20 KongfuPanda and doesn't pay well :(
08:20 Steffanx arf :P
08:21 Steffanx A PhD never does, does it?
08:24 KongfuPanda well, they pay ~ minimum salary in the UK + my tuition fees
08:24 KongfuPanda so I guess it's good
08:24 KongfuPanda in some countries it's much worse, especially now with economic crisis and stuff
08:25 ckkitten glomps KongfuPa
08:25 hackkitten mew ^-^
08:25 KongfuPanda Maybe I am naive, but I really want to make something really big
08:25 KongfuPanda that can change the world
08:25 KongfuPanda hello hackkitten :)
08:25 hackkitten me too~
08:25 hackkitten :D
08:25 ckkitten is working on AI stuff mos
08:26 hackkitten human-level++
08:26 KongfuPanda I'm thinking more in nano-technology area
08:26 hackkitten also an awesome area to work in
08:26 hackkitten we may end up working together on some big project :3
08:27 KongfuPanda yeah, but I guess those are just ambitions that I have, but actually my grades are very average and I'm a bit lazy sometimes. If I worked for more than 1 hour a day for the last 3 years, I could probably improve my grades a lot :D phahaha
08:27 Steffanx lol
08:27 Steffanx I know what ' issue'
08:27 KongfuPanda yes?
08:28 Steffanx Yes
08:28 KongfuPanda btw, has anyone here been to Greece?
08:28 Steffanx pass
08:29 KongfuPanda if yes, could you recommend where to go / not to go?
08:29 Skwint go to crete :p
08:30 Skwint athens is dissolving in its own dirt - the islands are nice :)
08:30 Steffanx What are the plans?
08:30 KongfuPanda ok, so Athens is a no no
08:30 Steffanx Drink, party, drink, party and party?
08:30 KongfuPanda I would like to see 1) some nature, maybe mountains, 2) see some old natural attaractions 3) relax on the beach. I'm gonna go ~ end of august for 10 days
08:30 KongfuPanda I'm into Photography a LOT
08:30 Skwint athens is for history buffs who want to see all the big old structures the ancient greeks built
08:31 Skwint crete is great for walking up mountains and down gorges
08:31 Skwint I think the rest of the islands are for drinking cocktails on the beach and sailing
08:31 KongfuPanda Skwint, I haven't actually seen any of those in my life yet. But, it's not hugely important, I guess they are everywhere there, so maybe I can see something on the way to some natural places
08:32 Skwint There's quite a few around - Athens has the most famous that's all
08:32 KongfuPanda Skwint, what do you mean by sailing btw? can I like hire a boat? or maybe I need a licence and maybe it's also epansive?
08:32 Skwint I suspect there are a lot of options - one of my cousins used to go out and teach sailing there in the summer
08:32 Skwint I'm not a sailor I can't answer :/
08:33 KongfuPanda I see, I will look into that as well
08:33 KongfuPanda what about scuba diving?
08:34 Skwint I don't think you'd find many tourist resorts that don't have a padi somewhere
08:34 KongfuPanda excellente !
08:34 Skwint http://www.amazingcrete.com/tour_samaria.htm
08:34 KongfuPanda I've always wanted to go scuba diving
08:34 Skwint that's my best memory of crete
08:35 KongfuPanda Skwint, those pictures look amazing, but are those places on the pictures close to each other? will I be able to see them over 10 days?
08:35 Skwint those pictures are all from the same gorge - 1 day, but getting to it and away might take some effort
08:36 KongfuPanda nice
08:36 Skwint from memory the village at the bottom end of the gorge has no road access but that might have changed it's been a long time since I was there
08:37 Skwint we walked out along the coast, village to village
08:37 Skwint and there was a ferry too
08:41 Skwint if you google "padi open water course" and "scuba crete" you'll probably end up with a map of places to learn - it's a 4 day course and the qualification means you can hire kit yourself later
08:41 Skwint plus doing a course means you get people to dive with - diving alone is a poor idea :p
08:51 KongfuPanda Skwint, I 'm not a good swimmer actually :( so I'd rather do it just once with an instuctor, and get a lot of pictures of some nice fishes, and get on with my trip. Unless ofc I love it so much that I decide to do it more
08:52 Skwint fair enough - I did it, but I've done a course in free diving since too (holding your breath) and I kind of enjoy that more
08:52 Skwint no heavy equipment and oxygen dials, just jump in and play
08:53 KongfuPanda Skwint, I dunno, but I think I can hold my breath for quite a long time. Maybe ~1.5 mins, without moving anywhere. Is that a lot or no?
08:59 Skwint that's reasonable, yeah
08:59 Skwint The course is all about safety and technique, rather than simply seeing how long you can go before you gasp :)
08:59 Skwint how not to pass out under water, and how to rescue someone who does
09:00 Skwint and how to breathe as much oxygen as possible without hyper ventillating and confusing your brains CO2 count
09:06 KongfuPanda Skwint, I see, have you seen that movie about people diving in a cave, that was then flooded? I forgot the name. They showed when someone went to save someone else, and they both died :(
09:09 KongfuPanda anyway, I'll definitely check this out too
10:23 furrywol- $#@ing internet connection.
10:23 Steffanx poor you
10:24 furrywol- connection dropped last night; waited around for a couple hours until bedtime and it didn't come back.
10:26 furrywol- katsmeow-afk: http://www.azonano.com/equipment-details.aspx?EquipID=569 that one small enough for you? :)
10:27 Steffanx probably not cheap enough :)
10:41 rrywolf decides katsmeow-afk must not be around, so curls up on her c
10:46 rizlah furrywolf: ... wtf is that link?
10:50 furrywolf I was trying to convince kats to make a hexapod mill out of her pile of power steering racks; she said a 6" stroke was too short, and real ones had 20". I said 6" would still be plenty, and they made 1" ones. she wanted me to show her one. found that page, then my internet connection crapped out before I could paste it.
11:12 rrywolf pokes at kat's webpage, and decides she needs to move to califo
11:13 rizlah kat has a webpage?
11:23 Steffanx Yes
11:23 Steffanx Don't remember the URL
11:35 furrywolf damnit, internet connection dieing again.
11:51 furrywolf bbl, >60% packet loss, no point in attempting to continue to use the internet.
13:03 SolarNRG IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT, EXPERIMENT 8 MAGNETITE MICROWAVE STEEL CAN MASKING TAPE IS NOW LIVE AT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh1VDGP86SY
13:03 Steffanx live?
13:03 SolarNRG Freshly uploaded, live enough for you
13:03 SolarNRG filmed today
13:05 Steffanx When we'll get our first big bang? :P
13:06 SolarNRG I pray that it never happens because I am doing this all as safely as I can
13:10 SolarNRG Did you like my video?
13:10 Steffanx It ~ the same as all the other videos
13:10 SolarNRG Failed nukebox mk 8
13:11 SolarNRG I just can't get it to work
13:57 katsmeow-afk http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-15898032
14:11 rrywolf hops on kat's
14:14 furrywolf contemplating becoming a jetkat?
14:23 rrywolf decides kat isn't actually there, sighs, and wanders off back to wi
14:25 Steffanx katsmeow-afk is always afk
14:49 rizlah Is it a good idea to get everything on this list initially? https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8373
14:49 rizlah Seems to be quite important stuff for beginning, hence the parts there may be useful to have right from the get-go.
14:49 rizlah Talking about the capacitor numbers/etc
14:55 rizlah FML just realised I also need a programmer.
15:28 dunz0r rizlah: Yeah. That list seems sane. The capacitors numbers are sane as well.
15:29 rizlah Will publish final in a bit. Have so many questions.
15:29 rizlah What type of programmer would one need?
15:30 rizlah Obviously one for the relevant MCU, but are they all very specific?
15:31 dunz0r No, if you get an AVR-programmer you can program all 8bit avr-chips etc.
15:31 rizlah Ah, ok
15:32 dunz0r I have an AVR Dragon. It's nice :)
15:32 dunz0r Haven't tried anything else though, so can't tell you if it's better or worse than anything else.
15:32 rizlah http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/ATAVRDRAGON/ATAVRDRAGON-ND/1124251 ?
15:33 dunz0r Yup. I got mine from digikey too :)
15:33 rizlah looks nice
15:34 dunz0r Damn it.
15:34 nz0r is trying to get a hold of some sane gears for a 20:1 reduc
15:34 rizlah What Wattage should resistors be?
15:35 rizlah I see many advertised as 1/4W, but some as 1/6
15:35 dunz0r 1/6 is smaller and can do less effect.
15:37 rizlah less effect?
15:37 rizlah I assume 1/4 is what I'd need in most situations
15:37 dunz0r 1/4W is sufficient.
15:39 SolarNRG Hey check out my latest nukebox test I did TODAY: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh1VDGP86SY
15:49 Tom_itx is it the same as the rest?
15:58 SolarNRG No, because I was able to singe the rizla paper implying I had reached quite a hot temperature
15:58 SolarNRG It was better than experiment 5 in fact!
17:03 dunz0r Where do you people get gearboxes btw?
17:03 dunz0r I have problems finding suitable ones :/
17:04 dunz0r I'm leaning towards building my own... but then I'll have to figure out how to make it small etc.
17:04 nz0r would like a 30-25:1 reduct
17:04 SolarNRG Dunzor, I can tell you about reduction gearboxes
17:04 dunz0r Found some nice Mabuchi-motors on ebay. Will be perfect for my next sumobot.
17:05 SolarNRG http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp8vGB8JwtE
17:05 SolarNRG ^^ This is mine
17:05 SolarNRG LOADS of torque
17:05 SolarNRG But it takes 20 minutes to do 1 rotation
17:05 SolarNRG 0.05 rpm
17:05 dunz0r What's the reduction?
17:05 dunz0r 300:1 or something?:)
17:06 SolarNRG Something rediculous
17:06 SolarNRG http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmG8_jvi1l8
17:06 SolarNRG These are hybrid gears
17:06 SolarNRG You can customize the step up, step down potential as you like
17:06 Tom_itx harmonic drive ftw
17:07 dunz0r Haha, a bit big for my current project :D
17:07 SolarNRG I want to mass produce these giant gears as they have nice big teeth. Size is not an issue for my plant robots that go nowhere, only need to stare at the sun all day long
17:08 dunz0r I've found some ok prices on RC-pinion gears and stuff. But I'm not sure... I have to think about axles and how to attach wheels to them and so on.
17:09 dunz0r Since obviously all axles/gears/wheels needs to have different sizes. Damn manufacturers :)
17:09 dunz0r The plan now is a two stage reduction
17:09 SolarNRG beltingonline do PROFESSIONAL STEEL GEARS
17:09 SolarNRG VERY STRONG
17:09 dunz0r SolarNRG: Thanks. I'll look them up.
17:10 Tom_itx stock drive products
17:10 Tom_itx what's it for?
17:11 SolarNRG Look for spur gears
17:11 SolarNRG or fishbone gears
17:11 dunz0r SolarNRG: Thanks for the webshop-link. These guys migh have what I'm looking for.
17:11 SolarNRG herringbone sorry
17:11 SolarNRG :D
17:11 SolarNRG You want mod 1 or mod 0.75 or 0.5 for little robots
17:11 SolarNRG Go for MOD 3 MOD4 if you're after a powerful tank or something
17:12 SolarNRG Hostaform are lightweight polyamide
17:12 SolarNRG Like for quadracopters
17:12 SolarNRG Steel and stainless are RARR
17:12 dunz0r I think I'll go for mod3. Since I'm putting big motors on it :)
17:12 SolarNRG Can't go wrong with steel if its on the ground
17:12 SolarNRG Mod 3 are BIG teeth
17:12 SolarNRG Like my plastic ones
17:12 SolarNRG They are MOD 3
17:12 SolarNRG Skype me I'll show you the difference
17:12 dunz0r Hmm. Those are too big then :D
17:12 SolarNRG what's your s kype addy
17:12 SolarNRG I got both
17:12 SolarNRG I'll show you
17:13 dunz0r I'm at work atm. So no skype.
17:13 SolarNRG vlc?
17:13 dunz0r Yep.
17:13 dunz0r Brb. Gotta use the loo.
17:15 SolarNRG Go into VLC, go to open network stream and paste this in: http://94.195.174.233:8554
17:15 SolarNRG That's my live stream
17:18 dunz0r Hmm. I think that port's firewalled. Thank you for trying anyways, SolarNRG :)
17:18 SolarNRG No it isn't
17:18 SolarNRG VLC
17:18 SolarNRG MEDIA
17:18 SolarNRG OPEN NETWORK STREAM
17:18 dunz0r It's firewalled here I mean.
17:18 SolarNRG PASTE http://94.195.174.233:8554
17:19 dunz0r As in; that port is closed for outside connections originating from my office.
17:22 SolarNRG Tried opening it in VLC player
17:22 SolarNRG Try now
17:22 SolarNRG Its running
17:22 Atomsk VLC...gross; MPC all the way! :D
17:22 Atomsk wait...why am i...
17:23 SolarNRG MPC will work also
17:23 SolarNRG Can you open my stream Atomsk?
17:23 dunz0r Not from my office it will. That port is closed on my side.
17:24 SolarNRG As in its a forbidden port?
17:24 dunz0r Yep.
17:24 dunz0r I could open it in the firewall, but I'm not "supposed to", so I won't :)
17:24 dunz0r SolarNRG: Thank you for the effort though :)
17:25 SolarNRG OK, I wanted to show you the difference between MOD1 and MOD3 gears
17:25 ace4016 it's downloading, not streaming
17:25 dunz0r And beltingonline seems to have just what I want. I tip my hat to you SolarNRG :)
17:25 SolarNRG Ace, DO NOT OPEN IT IN FIREFOX
17:25 SolarNRG OPEN IT IN VLC, MEDIA, OPEN NETWORK STREAM
17:25 SolarNRG I'm now working on ways to mass produce gears with big teeth, i.e. MOD 3
17:25 dunz0r Seems like a 12:80->30:80 might work for my needs.
17:26 SolarNRG Make sure you buy gears of the same MOD
17:26 SolarNRG Different MOD's do not mesh!
17:26 ace4016 it's not doing much right now..
17:26 SolarNRG ?? ace?
17:26 ace4016 just some guy in a lion hat
17:26 SolarNRG :)
17:27 SolarNRG Have a look now
17:27 Steffanx lol SolarNRG :)
17:27 Steffanx Nice hat
17:27 ace4016 cool
17:28 Steffanx Is it cold in England?
17:28 ace4016 i want to make a swashplate for a helicopter >_>
17:28 SolarNRG Steel is the wrong choice ace
17:28 ace4016 is that why you want to smelt in a microwave?
17:28 SolarNRG Hostaform, polyamide,
17:28 SolarNRG Aye
17:28 SolarNRG Sand casting is not good for spur gears, ok for bevel gears
17:29 SolarNRG Thanks, I like my Lion Hat
17:29 Steffanx :P
17:29 SolarNRG Did you like my live TV channel system?
17:30 SolarNRG I prefer it over Skype, because it doesn't FEEL liek a call,
17:30 SolarNRG It doesn't FEEL like someone's listening or you're spending money
17:30 SolarNRG By the way the big white pair are MOD3 the steel ones are MOD1
17:31 SolarNRG You can get finer teeth with professional steel gears
17:31 SolarNRG Something 3d printed ABS gears can't really get away with, too precise, too brittle a material
17:31 SolarNRG You can get finer teeth than that with stainless!
17:33 SolarNRG Spur are quite forgiving for being misplaced
17:33 SolarNRG Fishbone will autoalign
17:33 SolarNRG Herringbone sorry
17:33 SolarNRG Bevel are good for rotating two gears at 90 degrees to each other
17:34 SolarNRG Helical gears have more torque
17:34 dunz0r Too bad all my meccano gears have weird axle-sizes. Otherwise those would be really useful.
17:35 dunz0r 4.04mm I think it is.
17:58 mpak4 talk with me someone ! i'm so lonely
18:12 SolarNRG Mpak4, go to defocus then
18:15 dunz0r A worm gear for my gearbox maybe... I could get an "instant" 25:1 reduction.
18:16 SolarNRG hi torque or hi speed?
18:18 mpak4 hi
18:22 SolarNRG two gears can accomplish this, however your step down gear will likely be massive and expensive
18:22 SolarNRG it is more space efficient to have two or three step down gears
18:22 mpak4 why has not created a robot with many degrees of freedom as a human
18:23 SolarNRG Where the pinion is welded onto the deadcentre of the 2nd gear and drives the 3rd gear
18:23 SolarNRG So gear one does 1 rotation
18:23 mpak4 why not create robots in a virtual environment? Why do real prototypes
18:23 SolarNRG Gear 2 does 1/5 a rotation and gear 3 does 1/25 rotation
18:24 SolarNRG Mpak, because in the real world, these fancy parts you can draw on a 3d modelling program often do not exist in the real world and you have to do what you can with whatever you can find
18:25 mpak4 i can use the ones that exist. + good physics engine
18:26 SolarNRG OK model a floppy disk rack and its dynamic stresses and strains and model how many times you can bend it back and forth before it snaps
18:28 dunz0r SolarNRG: With a worm gear and a 30 teeth spur gear I can get sort of ok RPMs with some torque I think.
18:28 mpak4 i don't understand
18:28 dunz0r There's so many unknown variables in the real world. It's more fun :)
18:29 SolarNRG Your options to increase BOTH speed AND torque are to use a more powerful motor, or to use two motors in a planetary gearbox config
18:29 dunz0r I don't think I'll have room for more than one motor per wheel.
18:29 mpak4 in mechanics? really?
18:30 dunz0r mpak4: Mechanics and electronics as well as software imo.
18:31 mpak4 but it is harder and more expensive
18:31 SolarNRG A planetary configuration can allow you to switch drive between multiple wheels
18:31 SolarNRG You can have 7 motors going to 2 wheels if you wish
18:32 dunz0r mpak4: Doing it all in software is not as challenging. I like the part that you have to take every part of your design in to consideration.
18:32 dunz0r Things like protecting sensors from dust for example.
18:32 dunz0r Or to make sure that your software takes light changes in to account etc
18:33 dunz0r *changes in light
18:35 mpak4 all this can be modeled. but the main problem is not in the mechanics of robotics. ai is the main
18:35 mpak4 ai easier to test in a virtual environment
18:36 dunz0r No fun if the AI just gets handed tasks it can handle. In the real world unexpected things happen :)
18:39 dunz0r Hmm. I think I'll go with a worm gear set up of 30:1.
18:39 dunz0r That'll work great with 15000rpm motors.
18:40 dunz0r Should give me about 500RPM on the wheels :)
19:38 dunz0r Hmm. Need to get me a webcam for the next Robotparty on G+ me thinks.
20:17 sw0rdfish http://rt.com/usa/news/psyop-activists-internment-resettlement-526/
20:17 sw0rdfish damn!
20:17 SolarNRG Can you electrocute yoruself on an induction melter?
20:19 sw0rdfish I'm learning programming and stumbled across this shit...
20:19 sw0rdfish I had to sign up for twitter for the example I'm working on and lol I started "following" some twitters and ofc in the news section when I dug up RT along with BBC and CNN
20:19 sw0rdfish I found that link.... very interesting.... I seriously wonder if its true
20:19 sw0rdfish katsmeow-afk, can't wait to hear your opinion.
20:21 sw0rdfish aww what a bummer, it cannot be authenticated...
20:39 katsmeow-afk usa jails have been overcrowded for decades, and it's well known that they tend to spread the problems of the inmates to the new inmates, and i suspect the usa does not want political prisoners , like from Gitmo, inside the usa general prison population
20:39 katsmeow-afk you do remember the promise to close Gitmo? well, there was no place to put them
20:40 SolarNRG Release all the prisoners worldwide and lock up the politicians and bankers instead
20:41 katsmeow-afk i am more concerned the last two decades about usa bhavior on the world scene, and it's now seriously going to bite if Russia does exactly what the usa has done before, and does this : http://www.infowars.com/russia-threatens-preemptive-strike-on-nato-facilities/
20:41 sw0rdfish http://rt.com/usa/news/air-force-f22-haney-524/
20:41 katsmeow-afk sw0rdfish, they had the same coverup on the F16, pilots routinely driving upside down into the ground or mountains
20:41 sw0rdfish haha that was quick katsmeow-afk :)
20:42 sw0rdfish usa has done what before? preemptively stroke nato?
20:43 katsmeow-afk what's scarey is the posters on most of those forums, their langauge tells me they don't think much above 6th grade levels
20:44 katsmeow-afk usa has preemptively launched military strikes against locations the usa was not in a declared war with, this being the 1st anniversary of the strike inside Pakistan
20:44 katsmeow-afk a month ago(?) it was the anniversary of the strike in Panama to abduct the president there and jail him inside the usa
20:45 katsmeow-afk the usa backed Israel bombing a nuke reactor in Iran years ago, and i'm sure that will happen again too
20:47 katsmeow-afk the new part of usa politics is the willingness to go on-camera and state it's the new policy to go after "terrorists" by force no matter where they are, and so Russia is calling the usa putting missiles in eastern EU as being terrorist against itself, and will do the usa thing of preemptive strikes
20:48 katsmeow-afk maybe you are also old enough to remember the Cuban Embargo and faceoff with Russia back then? the usa was prepared to not only goto war with Cuba preemptively, but also Russia
20:48 rrywolf hops on katsmeow-afk's
20:49 sw0rdfish my parents were probably my age back then katsmeow-afk, but yeah I know about that.
20:50 sw0rdfish wait a minute there was no "bombing" of any Iranian reactor?
20:50 katsmeow-afk there was
20:50 sw0rdfish must have been minor
20:50 katsmeow-afk it's smouldering wreckage
20:50 furrywolf yes, there was.
20:51 sw0rdfish I know they kill Iranian nuke scientists with small bombs
20:51 katsmeow-afk Iraq, sorry
20:51 sw0rdfish and sent computer virus to Iranian reactors
20:51 sw0rdfish oh right, Iraq.
20:51 katsmeow-afk http://duckduckgo.com/?q=Israel+bombing+reactor
20:51 furrywolf didn't the iranian one get bombed in the '90s?
20:51 sw0rdfish Iraq actually reached to the point where they had fully operational reactors
20:51 sw0rdfish or were trying to?
20:52 sw0rdfish furrywolf, they only started building reactors like 8 or 9 years ago I think.
20:52 furrywolf katsmeow-afk: did you see the tiny little hexapod I pasted?
20:54 katsmeow-afk yeas, i asked about large ones, that tiney one can't even move as big an area as it's own stage
20:55 furrywolf "During the Iran-Iraq war, the two Bushehr reactors were damaged by multiple Iraqi air strikes" yeah, iran's one was bombed, but it was iraq, not israel. my bad.
20:55 rrywolf has a bad memory.
20:56 DanFrederiksen sw0rdfish, I don't think Iraq ever had anything nuclear
20:57 katsmeow-afk and who was funding both sides of the Iran-Iraq war at the same time?
20:57 DanFrederiksen USA was 'helping' both sides. not sure about funding
20:57 DanFrederiksen USA probably also started the war. even ignoring that they brought saddam to power
20:58 furrywolf damnit, my internet connection is flaking out again.
20:58 furrywolf looks like another night with no internet.
20:59 katsmeow-afk and who was funding both sides of the Iran-Iraq war at the same time?
21:00 sw0rdfish wtf
21:00 sw0rdfish usa brought saddam to power?
21:01 sw0rdfish no way.
21:01 katsmeow-afk the usa put a number of dictators in power around the world
21:01 sw0rdfish well I don't know for sure, but since he was a military guy he probably made a rebellion and overthrew the civilian politicians in control before him.
21:03 katsmeow-afk http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_onQvIg4FVII/Sn3AXWll1LI/AAAAAAAAB5Y/FtotHWM6YJQ/s400/Moron.jpg
21:06 DanFrederiksen sw0rdfish, does that really surprise you? :)
21:06 furrywolf sw0rdfish: yes, we did. we trained him, set him up, and everything.
21:06 furrywolf "-:- CTCP PING reply from furrywolf: 220.460 seconds" looks like I'm too lagged to chat. blah.
21:06 DanFrederiksen I don't know for certain but I've seen indications that USA fixed up saddam
21:07 furrywolf at least tonight I sorta have a connection... last night it just suddenly went down completely.
21:07 Tom_itx world takeover with no robots involved isn't allowed here
21:07 sw0rdfish katsmeow-afk, when you meant user comments in the forums you meant also the user comments in that infowars.com article you linked me?
21:07 DanFrederiksen I guess it's a little off topic :)
21:07 katsmeow-afk almost any of them, yes
21:08 katsmeow-afk [furrywolf PING reply]: 0 secs
21:08 sw0rdfish heh
21:08 furrywolf yeah, it's alternating between working and not working...
21:08 furrywolf might randomly go to "not working" and stay there again.
21:16 furrywolf yay, someone might want my spare inverter
21:16 rrywolf needs m
21:19 tsmeow-afk does
21:19 furrywolf that boat on your website looks expensive. heh.
21:20 katsmeow-afk which one?
21:21 furrywolf the big trimararn
21:21 furrywolf s/arn/an
21:22 katsmeow-afk oh, i lost a big hunk of that in Fla, i could not move it back up here
21:22 furrywolf :(
21:22 katsmeow-afk and none of it is ready for water yet
21:22 furrywolf that doesn't mean it doesn't look expensive still. :)
21:42 furrywolf hrmm, I wonder if you could mill your own ball threads in a big long length of shaft...
22:00 rrywolf is unusually tired, so curls up and y
22:00 furrywolf I work too hard. :(
22:21 katsmeow-afk you could
22:21 katsmeow-afk accuracy would be aproblem
22:22 furrywolf yeah
22:22 Tom_itx most of that type of stuff is ground
22:22 katsmeow-afk if yu were aiming for fricton-free-ness tho, you'd win
22:22 furrywolf just trying to think of ways to increase the usefulness of a seemingly very useful part.
22:22 DanFrederiksen furrywolf, link to boatpic?
22:23 Tom_itx i wish i had a nice set of ball screws for a mill
22:23 DanFrederiksen Tom_itx, tried ebay? I think I've seen some that weren't too pricey
22:23 katsmeow-afk i got them for the bearings, figuring if i got the ball screws to be useful, that was a plus, and i'd return all the aluminum housing and get all my moneys back fromt he entire scrapping process
22:24 katsmeow-afk else, i could melt it into heatsinks and airplane stuff
22:24 furrywolf katsmeow-afk: my crazy neighbor steals anything that isn't bolted down. she even dug up my freshly planted garden once because she needed potting soil.
22:24 Tom_itx kat, 0 progress today
22:24 Tom_itx major headache brought me down
22:24 furrywolf crazy neighbors seem to be everywhere.
22:25 DanFrederiksen furrywolf, link to boatpic?
22:25 tsmeow-afk hops onto Tom's head and kneads it, and invites furrywolf up to do like
22:25 rrywolf is more of a lapwolfy than a headw
22:26 DanFrederiksen I guess not :)
22:28 katsmeow-afk In more than a dozen cities across America humanists and atheists promote this first Thursday in May as National Day of Reason.
22:28 katsmeow-afk US Representative Pete Stark, (D-California) issued a proclamation for it in front of the US Capitol last month.
22:28 furrywolf their ability to act as stand-alone linear actuators seems more useful than bearing donors..
22:28 katsmeow-afk so the other 364 days are..............?
22:29 furrywolf days where religious whackjobs run the country.
22:29 katsmeow-afk furry, i'd surely agree on that, cept i have found no such uses for them
22:29 katsmeow-afk or the whackjobs
22:29 furrywolf rudder control. :)
22:29 katsmeow-afk you fail to rememeber, there's only 6 inches of stroke
22:30 katsmeow-afk the screw portion is 8(?) inches, the nut is 2 inches, leaving 6 for travel
22:30 katsmeow-afk sure the nut can be used on a homemmade screw, but i have not made any yet
22:32 furrywolf Z axis on a cnc router
22:32 furrywolf adjusting tines on a harrow
22:32 furrywolf 3-point hitch
22:32 furrywolf power gate opener
22:32 rrywolf just thought of something illegal in alabama that needs a 6" stroke, but won't name
22:32 furrywolf heh, I had to fix a harrow for someone last year, its actuator only had 6" of travel.
22:33 katsmeow-afk 3point hitch needs at least 2ft of travel
22:35 furrywolf it used a cheap chinese linear actuator, where if you tried raising or lowering the tines all the way to the end of the stroke, it would jam, and need to be taken apart and turned with a wrench. I fixed it by adding limit switches.
22:36 tsmeow-afk
22:36 katsmeow-afk i got nothing done today
22:37 furrywolf same here, other than going to work and making the same $45 (before taxes) doing the same thing I do every other day.
22:37 katsmeow-afk it's difficult for me to climb up and down the mountain, and i am just exhausted,,, i ate a sammich earlier and passed out for 3 hours
22:37 rrywolf loads kat in the car and heads for the local indian restau
22:38 katsmeow-afk spicey curry laden Indian foods, or bland native american foods?
22:39 furrywolf spicey curry indian foods
22:39 katsmeow-afk that should wake me
22:39 furrywolf he grinds his own spices, even - much better than dried powders.
22:39 furrywolf and he knows what hot means, unlike every other restaurant I've ever been to.
22:39 katsmeow-afk cannot buy curry here, no stores have it
22:39 furrywolf this is the only indian place within ~300 miles, and it's going out of business. :(
22:40 katsmeow-afk cannot buy tumeric either, or half a dozen other spices, but everyone has 50 varieties of BLACK pepper
22:40 furrywolf even black pepper is progressive for that area.
22:40 rrywolf would never, ever move to alab
22:41 katsmeow-afk i needed a place to live, one i could afford to buy, this place happened, and there was no one around for 1/4 mile, literally, my back property line is over 1200ft long
22:41 katsmeow-afk and then neighbors happened
22:42 furrywolf around here, if you were to make a vac-u-lock adapter for a power steering rack, creating a junkyard sybian, you'd be a little odd. there, you're not just a criminal, you'd probably be lynched...
22:42 katsmeow-afk they both, eitehr side of me, built so close to the property line, their stuff hangs over it
22:43 furrywolf you're a woman who isn't a slave. you're threatening their entire power structure, now that the pesky north told them they couldn't keep blacks as slaves...
22:44 katsmeow-afk far from threatening, i just leave them alone and want them to leave me alone
22:44 furrywolf you exist. :)
22:45 katsmeow-afk yeas, barely
22:45 furrywolf I've never figured out how religious whackjobs can be quite that insane, but they really are...
22:46 furrywolf people like that are invariably religious, not caring that their actions are the exact opposite of what jesus (they're usually christians of some form) told them to do.
22:46 katsmeow-afk yep
22:49 furrywolf I haven't figured out of religion damages brains, or defective brains pick religion, though.
22:49 furrywolf s/of/if

22:51 katsmeow-afk several elections it was just stunning how the officials were saying they were MORE fit for office by proclaiming they often talked to imaginary "beings", ad theirs were better than the opponents
22:51 furrywolf yep
22:52 katsmeow-afk rue lives!
22:52 furrywolf and if you point out this means the only office they should get is a padded room, you're an evil heretic who should be lynched.
22:53 furrywolf I should be lynched because I'm furry and have sex toys, too. lots of reasons to lynch me!
22:53 katsmeow-afk i merely exist
22:55 furrywolf it's amazing how upset those types get at being different... even going to a restaurant and asking for water is enough to make everyone shuffle away from you in some states.
22:55 furrywolf I noticed this in new jersey...
22:55 katsmeow-afk were you in fur and wearing sex toys?
22:55 furrywolf no
22:56 katsmeow-afk how did they know?
22:56 furrywolf I don't even have a fursuit, or any plans to ever have one. heh.
22:56 furrywolf waiters look at you like you're nuts, and go "you want... water? umm, ok..."
22:56 furrywolf being different in any way makes some people scared.
22:56 katsmeow-afk oh, the water alone thing
22:57 katsmeow-afk "we serve water because we haveto, but no ne drinks it!"
22:57 furrywolf as opposed to, depending on whether you're north or south, soda or iced tea.
22:58 furrywolf you didn't do the same thing everyone else does. there's something WRONG with you.
22:59 katsmeow-afk judgemental bastards
22:59 katsmeow-afk "let he who has not sinned cast the first stone" .. and they ALL start throwing
22:59 furrywolf and they're raised, literally from birth, that god wants them to fix and/or kill anyone who's different, and if they don't, there's something wrong with them themselves.
23:01 katsmeow-afk yeas, i heard this place had gotten dragged into the 20th century, but it didn't much
23:02 katsmeow-afk i wonder what rue is doing
23:04 katsmeow-afk there was a march by high school students against enforcing some law about praying in public school, and i was there protesting against forcing kids to pray in school, i was the only one, and at one point the press stopped them from mobbing me
23:05 furrywolf heh
23:05 katsmeow-afk no one on that day saw anything wrong with forcing someone to say words to an imaginary being they didn't believe in, and if the imaginary being did exist what it would have thought of that charade

23:10 katsmeow-afk "so this is the paragraph you want me to read over and over again to your imaginary friend, and this proves i am pious and worship it?"
23:10 rue_bed In the world,
23:10 rue_bed there are a few people who are speciafically skilled at manipulating masses of people
23:11 rue_bed these people find their way to positions of power
23:11 rue_bed the modern world dosn't need government
23:11 katsmeow-afk rue has spoken
23:11 furrywolf lol
23:12 rue_bed we can govern ourselvs, the single pointed governmental system was developed back when the masses could not readily intercommunicate
23:12 rue_bed were in a transitional phase
23:12 furrywolf rue_shop: do you seriously think the average american can govern him or herself?
23:12 rue_bed hopefully we live thru it
23:12 rue_bed I think that society as a mass is starting to become self aware
23:13 katsmeow-afk the average american can barely get it togther for their next drug/alcohol.religion fix
23:13 rue_bed on a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly primitive level
23:13 furrywolf I think there's a lot of very stupid people, and they're multiplying faster.

23:17 katsmeow-afk from, retrard, to slow down, as in "the brake pedal retards the motion of this vehicle"

23:18 katsmeow-afk how can it retard it if it never tarded it in the first place?
23:18 rue_bed hmmm
23:18 furrywolf because it has a tardis, creating paradoxes.
23:19 katsmeow-afk aahh
23:19 rue_bed so
23:19 rue_bed how to two smart people meet to start a relationship?
23:19 rue_bed stand there and not talk to each other?
23:19 katsmeow-afk it is going too fast, it has shed it's tards, quickly furry, re-tard it!
23:20 dunz0r Or stand there and read scientific books. Then eyes meet etc.
23:20 furrywolf dunno. finding a mature, intelligent woman seems very hard. :(
23:20 rrywolf would be married if could find
23:20 rue_bed great, so whats to do if one of them always takes the book home to read
23:20 katsmeow-afk at least irl
23:20 dunz0r Mature is relative. I think it's important to be mature enough to be immature.
23:20 rue_bed furrywolf, your finding that too?
23:21 furrywolf and if our laws about marriage weren't completely fucked up, thanks to the religious nutjobs specifying who can and can not marry...
23:21 rue_bed kat, I told you its a legit problem
23:21 katsmeow-afk oh, i agree, i am alone too
23:22 katsmeow-afk i don't have the problem of you guys's sex drive, i simply gave up looking and no longer consider it possible to find anyone, period
23:22 dunz0r I have a sex drive?:o
23:22 rue_bed to the best of my knowledge if I stand at the exit of the grocery store and watch the ladies going thru, and look for one that does not say anything to the cashier, then I'v achived a pretty good initial filter
23:23 katsmeow-afk well, cept for those psychotics and antisocials, rue
23:23 rue_bed furrywolf, if your like me, you were told a normal life is to find a partner and get married
23:23 rue_bed katsmeow-afk, whats the difference between someone smart and a schyco?
23:24 rue_bed and aren't more smart people antisocial?
23:24 rue_bed these are scarry thoughts
23:24 dunz0r I know plenty both stupid and antisocial people though.
23:24 dunz0r I know some very smart and social people too.
23:24 rue_bed oh
23:25 rue_bed my data has it that smart people dont tend to be social
23:25 katsmeow-afk smart enough to stay away from societies dregs also means using society's measuring terms to qualify people
23:25 dunz0r Depends. I try to be social, since it makes many things easier, I don't enjoy it much though.
23:26 rue_bed I'm still working on reverse engineering the mind

23:28 rue_bed that is a pointer to a previously defined topic of conversation
23:29 katsmeow-afk seriously???
23:29 rue_bed where the previously defined topic forms a 'context'

23:31 furrywolf bleh.
23:31 rue_bed why not?
23:32 katsmeow-afk you asking me why he said it?
23:32 rue_bed furrywolf, dunz0r kat says that we shouldn't involve sexual descrimination if looking for a partner.... I think thats the intent of what was said
23:32 rue_bed no
23:33 rue_bed I'm asking if you know why it bothered him
23:33 katsmeow-afk it's not 100% sure he said it, but he often did end sentences with propositions, and he was barking back at critisisms of doing so
