11:43 Skwint I have a Pololu USB AVR programmer, which is installed and appears to be functioning
11:44 Skwint and I have an Axon 2 (with an ATMega640)
11:44 Skwint these are plugged in the way they are supposed to be and when I click "read signature" it succeeds
11:44 Skwint but the device field is blank
11:45 Skwint the only options that sound close are ATMega644P, ATMega645 and ATMega649
11:45 Skwint I am not sure what to do at this point - can anyone help?
11:51 r0b- hi guys
11:51 r0b- whats an easy way to build a 2wd platform?
11:51 r0b- or small tracked platform
11:52 Skwint google $50 robot
11:52 Skwint also 3pi pololu
11:52 r0b- something about 4x6 - 7x10
11:53 r0b- i have an arduino
11:53 Skwint well, my controller is attached to an RC car, so my platform was kind of pre built :p
11:54 r0b- i thought about doing that
11:54 r0b- what type of rc car?
11:54 Skwint I'm not sure I'd recommend the RC car approach as "easy"
11:54 Skwint it has been quite painful
11:54 r0b- well i have a hobby one lol
11:55 r0b- that uses real servos
11:55 Skwint but here: http://sites.google.com/site/squirmy/robots
11:55 Skwint trying to make a programmer work with it atm and ... failing :/
11:55 Skwint stupid programmer... grrr
11:56 r0b- what microcontroller you using?
11:56 parag0n if it uses real servos its easy
11:57 parag0n the PWM pins on an arduino can output servo control signals
11:57 parag0n bam, done
11:57 Skwint I'm using an Axon2
11:57 Skwint but it doesn't really matter a great deal
11:58 Skwint it's an ATMega640 chip
11:58 r0b- well the car needs some drive parts lol
11:58 r0b- like pinions
11:59 parag0n you can modify 2 servos for continuus rotation
11:59 r0b- problem is though im afraid it would run away lol
11:59 r0b- it can move about 30mph
11:59 parag0n then glie them back to back, add some wheels to the output horns
11:59 Skwint rob - same problem with mine - great laugh debugging something that's faster than you are :)
11:59 r0b- yea
11:59 Skwint Cancel my earlier question - I just got it working :o)
11:59 r0b- mines a real hobby grade one :)
12:00 r0b- i want something slower
12:00 Skwint well, honestly, I recommend a purpose built platform
12:00 r0b- thats what i mean
12:00 Skwint but the $50 robot tutorial is a good explanation of the most basic one around
12:01 Skwint or google "robot chassis" and click "shopping" and see what comes back
12:01 r0b- http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/250 start with somthing like this
12:02 parag0n http://www.flickr.com/photos/thinkl33t/3898326042/in/set-72157622293779138 here is how to convert a servo to 360 degree operation
12:02 Skwint http://www.bizoner.com/arduino-2wd-aluminum-alloy-2-wheel-drive-mobile-robot-chassis-p-213.html?zenid=kael3552g60ctd04emi4rula17
12:02 parag0n to fix a wheel to the output shaft, take a star type servo horn and ziptie it to a wheel with spokes
12:03 parag0n then fix your servos to a CD
12:03 parag0n you now have a $10 robot chassis
13:00 r0b- ty Skwint
13:23 r0b- well i think i will DIY this
13:23 r0b- i have some acrylic sheet
14:27 Skwint not sure I can help with motor drivers r0b- ... one of the reasons I went with a RC car was that the car cost less than most drivers :p

21:12 e_jester point to wood s
21:12 the_jester point(s)
21:12 Tom_itx !seen izua
21:12 tobbor izua was last seen in #avr on Oct 28 11:48 2011
21:12 Tom_itx dammit
21:15 zhanx rue_bed: they dont want your cat
21:29 the_jester hey tom, ive been playing with the arduino crap in my quest to simplify avr programming
21:30 the_jester got a at168-10 from rue, building a breaduino
21:31 rue_house the_jester,
21:32 the_jester rue
21:33 rue_house yes
21:34 the_jester you were going to say?
21:36 the_jester well aisde from saying no one wants to hear about arduino ect and that i will just look like an idiont for admitting i want to use one.. thats a given but im sick of tossing my projects because im no go at real C
21:36 rue_house hi
21:36 rue_house not here, lots of aruino freaks here
21:36 rue_house shoot I have o get you a hex file
21:37 e_jester hurrys to finish my chips so i can build another ipone cantenna and stream some m
21:37 the_jester there are crumbs under the keys on my netbook f**K
21:38 the_jester !!!!
21:38 rue_house not sunday, jamie has me making plant racks for him
21:38 rue_house damn freebee3 isn't replying to dns..
21:38 rue_house oh wait..
21:41 the_jester there must be a #arduino on this server
21:42 rue_house prolly
21:42 rue_house there is also #microcontrollers
21:42 the_jester there is #arduino
21:43 the_jester still interested in getting the atmega32 running under the arduino enviroment
21:57 the_jester ughh
21:57 the_jester just use the bootloader
21:57 the_jester just use the bootloader
21:57 the_jester just use the bootloader
21:57 the_jester just use the bootloader
21:57 e_jester smashed my head off desk.. a
21:59 zhanx the_jester: you can upload a version of the arduino bootloader to the 32
21:59 zhanx i think i can help you a bit more in here
22:01 the_jester ya, found the core files ect for the atmega 32, as per right this minute im trying to get rues stk200 clone to work as my default upload device in the ide
22:01 zhanx k
22:04 the_jester i know how to use a dapa, but not myprog..
22:20 rue_house jhold on
22:20 rue_house bill distracted me and kris came by
