11:31 zhanx Tom_itx, around?
11:45 Tom_itx ?
11:54 zhanx http://tinyfabland.blogspot.com/2011/11/more-stm32f4.html
11:54 zhanx thinking its programing the flash and i losing it.
11:57 zhanx never mind ram upload is not supported *yet*
11:58 zhanx so basically we can now test code under linux but not upload it yet
11:58 Tom_itx i loaded iar on windows the other day
12:00 zhanx k
12:00 zhanx i am still working out the bugs on linux programming as i can get time and since i am in a hotel in baltimore i got time
12:03 zhanx ok lunch time
12:04 Tom_itx same here
14:28 coppermine i need these hubs but are not in stock, is there something homemade i can make instead?
14:28 coppermine http://www.robotshop.com/ca/productinfo.aspx?pc=RB-Ban-157&lang=en-US
14:28 coppermine i have hubs 1/2 that size at the moment
14:28 coppermine i just need to secure the wheel tight on it so it doesn't come off
16:31 thylyne http://agi-school.org/page/3
16:51 Steffanx You also follow that ml and ai course from stanford thylyne ?
17:03 thylyne Steffanx no actually I came in weeks late.
18:53 Nautilus just double-checking before I do a solder project... anyone know if Ersin only makes 'rosin' core solder? eg: electronics safe vs. acid core
19:02 Tom_itx http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/tweaks/messages/7078.html
19:03 Nautilus about the only think left on this old label is "Ersin multicore" and Sn60.
19:04 Nautilus but I'm 99.99% sure it's the right stuff, I've had it 20 years and while I have some solid solder, dont ever recall owning acis core, at least not in this small size.
19:04 Nautilus acid*
19:04 Nautilus its .050 or less.
19:19 rue_house yay! 9 hours without a poiwer fail
19:19 Tom_itx forget to pay?
19:20 rue_house coppermine wouldn't accept a home brew if I gave him one
19:20 Tom_itx and you'd be out one
19:26 Nautilus is there any way to test that solder is/isnt rosin core?
19:26 Tom_itx i'm not sure. rue_house might know
19:26 Tom_itx acid core will spatter more
19:29 Nautilus rue_bed: thoughts?
19:35 rue_house cool melt the end off
19:35 rue_house you will see the core if its rosin
19:36 Nautilus cool melt?
19:38 Nautilus looking at the existing end on the roll i can see cores
19:39 Tom_itx if you heat it, the rosin should ooze out some
19:39 Tom_itx i don't think acid will do that
19:40 Nautilus gotcha, tx
21:42 rue_house the new IR baffle in the reactor works great
21:42 rue_house I can hold my hand against the metal that would normally be glowing by now
21:42 Tom_itx good
22:10 rue_house remember the miniduno that the robotics kid blew up, burned, and melted?
22:11 Tom_itx i guess
22:11 rue_house I was looking at the pcb for it
22:11 rue_house and thinking
22:11 rue_house its not tooooo bad
22:12 Tom_itx i don't mind their boards
22:12 Tom_itx it's the idea behind them
22:12 dunz0r I like the arduino language, not the boards so much.
22:12 dunz0r They're too big.
22:15 rue_house I really should just buy one of your baords
22:16 Tom_itx usb?
22:22 rue_house yea
22:22 rue_house I want to make a usb -> audio converter
22:23 Tom_itx you need a U2 or U4?
22:23 Tom_itx U4 adds adc
22:23 Tom_itx U2 has none
22:24 Tom_itx and a few more pins
22:25 Tom_itx i found the blue U4 board. it was sitting right next to the other one but i overlooked it
22:29 rue_house that sth oldy diff?
22:29 Tom_itx i think so
22:29 rue_house thatmight expalin why he suses the u4, he made an audio in demo too
22:29 Tom_itx you might look
22:30 Tom_itx adc?
22:30 rue_house I dont need adc, I'm inot audio out only
22:30 Tom_itx you gotta be careful with portc
22:31 Tom_itx one of the pins on it is reset
22:31 Tom_itx not sure if that holds true on the u4 or not
22:31 Tom_itx i didn't look to see if you're able to disable reset or not
22:31 Tom_itx but i didn't want to anyway
22:32 rue_house no I dont like disabling reset
22:32 Tom_itx PC1 on the U2 is reset
22:32 Tom_itx also the debugwire pin
22:35 Tom_itx U4 may use jtag instead of debugwire
22:35 Tom_itx it's got the pins for it
22:42 rue_house like I'm gonna use jtag or debugwire
22:42 rue_house why is the tank at 78c when nothing else has ever been that hot?
22:48 rue_house I used concrte board to line the firebox, I'm gonna be really interested to see how its held up
22:54 Tom_itx didn't figure you would but mentioned it for the difference
22:54 Tom_itx gnite
23:08 orlok hmm
23:12 orlok i need to write a script that checks to see if ufw is enabled or disabled
23:12 orlok and if it is disabled, check to see that it has been disabled for X amount of time, and re-enable it
23:12 rue_house I think I found a reasonably major flaw int eh way the boilers assembled
23:12 rue_house the exchanger collects air
23:13 rue_house which would lead to steam creation given the right conditions
23:13 rue_house which would kinda cause a runaway, the more steam that formed the more that would be caused to form
23:22 rue_house !assist heatplant
23:22 tobbor Possibly http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/heatplant
23:22 rue_house er
23:22 rue_house hehe
23:22 rue_house !assist projects/heatplant
23:22 tobbor Possibly http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant
23:22 rue_house http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1030621-gantry.jpg
23:23 rue_house http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1030622-scaling.jpg <--- this will be a problem for sure
23:23 rue_house http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1030627-prebaffle.jpg <-- before the baffle
23:24 rue_house its looking down into the post-reaction duct with the top off
23:24 rue_house http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1030629-IR_baffle.jpg <-- this is the new baffle, its dosn't go all the way up or down
23:25 rue_house http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1030630-IR_baffle.jpg <-- there is a gap on either side for air flow
23:26 rue_house http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1020907.jpg <-- cross section diagram for ref
23:26 rue_house hmm 19 pipes, I went with 54, oops
23:26 rue_house 20-300 cfm was wrong, needs ~1000cfm
23:27 rue_house http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1020901.jpg <-- maintenance hatch off, the baffle goes about an inch from the top
23:31 rue_house looking back thru the images dates, I been working on this new one for almost a year
