12:53 AM xxcoder: lol bored guy with cnc https://youtu.be/4vx6_UQo7zE
01:55 AM Deejay: moin
02:57 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> good moin ing
02:58 AM rifraf: evening
04:35 AM Tom_L: morning
05:00 AM JT-Cave: morning
06:20 AM lcnc-relay: <die_limonade@> Hello
06:20 AM lcnc-relay: I struggle to add the .axisrc file into the home directory. It seems to be read-only. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to get it working? For reference: i want to use the https://github.com/verser-git/probe_screen_v2.9
06:20 AM lcnc-relay: Thank you in advance
06:23 AM JT-Cave: what seems to be read only?
06:24 AM lcnc-relay: <die_limonade@> The home folder
06:38 AM lcnc-relay: <die_limonade@> I cant copy the .axisrc file into it
06:38 AM JT-Cave: never seen that before, how did you install Debian?
06:38 AM JT-Cave: oh wait you said the home directory which is above the user directory?
06:38 AM lcnc-relay: <die_limonade@> Yes, at least to my knowledge that where the .axisrc file needs to go
06:38 AM JT-Cave: https://pasteboard.co/Q2cvPMpTGiDy.png
06:38 AM JT-Cave: no, .axisrc goes in the users directory so for me it would go in john
08:25 AM lcnc-relay: <z3rni3@> Mahlzeit
09:14 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> tach
09:16 AM Deejay: re
10:08 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> Forum down?
11:42 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> no
02:03 PM Tom_L: no mysteries to solve today...
02:08 PM xxcoder: calm seas make for awful captain of boat
03:05 PM rdtsc-w: here's a mystery... what is a transistor from 1983 marked 3D1110? Assuming germanium but nothing crosses today
03:58 PM Tom_L: they were big into darlingtons then too
04:09 PM rdtsc-w: little TO-18 metal can package... I see a diode drop from 3-2 (assuming emitter), but nothing from either to pin 1 (assuming collector) - not even a capacitance. Must've blown that lead.
04:18 PM lcnc-relay: <zincboy_ca_on@> Are you sure it is a transistor? Sometimes they put diodes in those packages too.

04:45 PM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> new robot to play with 🙂
04:45 PM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> trying to retrofit with LinuxCNC-RIO
06:20 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> now they have tanjental blade setup in the scurve tp
06:20 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> I am probably going to have to play with it..
06:23 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> I don't think 83 would be germanium
06:25 PM Tom_L: we need a full report then
06:27 PM Tom_L: ever use a chunk of galena for a crystal radio?
06:49 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> my first radio used a diod..
06:49 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> diode
06:49 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> so - I am not super old..
06:49 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> 😉
06:50 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> The k&t was all germanium transistors. We found out it started acting wonky at temps lower than 50f
07:16 PM Tom_L: i had one with the diode as well but my first one was with a galena crystal
07:20 PM Tom_L: https://www.nutsvolts.com/uploads/wygwam/NV_1020_Goodsell_Fig-1.jpg
07:20 PM Tom_L: similar but with galena instead of the diode
07:22 PM Tom_L: visiting the grandparents i'd sit in front of the large tube cabinet radio and dial in short wave stations for entertainment
07:26 PM Tom_L: that or watch the indian test pattern on the TV
07:27 PM Tom_L: back then there was only a few hours of programming
07:27 PM Tom_L: they've certainly caught up
