02:48 AM rifraf: g'day g'day
04:44 AM Tom_L: morning
05:03 AM JT-Cave: morning
05:36 AM lcnc-relay: <lolthekidison@> this might be sortve a silly question, but is there any thing like 3d printer macros for linux cnc? like have it home an go to the center or something?
05:37 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> ???? you can create macros, yes
05:38 AM lcnc-relay: <lolthekidison@> Really 😅, whats the term called for linux
05:39 AM lcnc-relay: <lolthekidison@> * linux?
05:40 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> https://linuxcnc.org/docs/html/gcode/o-code.html
05:41 AM lcnc-relay: <lolthekidison@> Thank you, I really need to book mark the docs already
06:50 AM jpa-: though you don't even need a macro for that, because it is just one line MDI command that you can add an user interface button for
06:51 AM rdtsc-w: most GUI's will let you issue a "MDI command" (manual data input) of G0 Z0 to first raise Z, then G0 X0 Y0 to home X and Y - always want to raise Z first heheheh
06:54 AM JT-Cave: Flex GUI you can have as many MDI buttons as you like and you can call a subroutine from them as well
07:00 AM rdtsc-w: added a powered industrial USB hub to the Rpi5, including a Realtek USB wifi dongle --> antenna on the machine; had to install a new driver for that, quite involved. Weird thing is, the Rpi5 seemed to "see" it and have a driver for it, but the repo driver wouldn't work at all. Trap for young players :)
09:32 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> lolthekidison@ subroutines might do most of what you want too
04:03 PM xxcoder: man wish emptying tanks is easy to do lol
04:25 PM roycroft: emptying welding tanks is really easy to do
04:26 PM roycroft: all you have to do is start an important project on a weekend or holiday when the gas supplier is closed and all your tanks will empty almost instantly
04:26 PM lcnc-relay: <ccatlett1984@> Lol
04:27 PM xxcoder: hah!
04:27 PM xxcoder: its just dirty water, dirtier water and very dirty water
04:27 PM roycroft: i have today off, and i just got my solvent cabinet put in place - i had to almost completely disassemble it, repair some bent parts, replace some broken bushings, and reassemble it in situ, which was really hard, because the area where it lives is barely larger than the cabinet
04:27 PM xxcoder: (2 gray tanks and one black(
04:27 PM roycroft: but it's there
04:28 PM roycroft: now i need to unpack all the boxes/crates full of paint and solvents
04:28 PM roycroft: and it's going to start raining this evening, so i'll get it done just in time
05:40 PM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> anyone have some ballscrews they want to get rid of? Looking for larger 30-50mm screws with a 5mm pitch >1m long
05:41 PM xxcoder: I have some, but sadly wrong diameter for you
05:41 PM xxcoder: actually I think I have gotten rid of em
05:41 PM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> in uhmerican units 1-2 inch with 0.2 in pitch > 3ft long
05:43 PM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> I could use one shorter as well. ~3ft
