12:35 AM memleak: NETSPLITS INCOMING
12:48 AM * xxcoder brings in ice cream and banana fruits
12:48 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> moin
05:46 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
05:47 AM JT-Mobile: morning
10:23 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> https://photos.app.goo.gl/aQLswxDRVgB6p5yB7
10:23 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> lantern tool post and everything.. 😉
12:38 PM JT-Shop: nap time now
12:45 PM Tom_L: darn close
04:37 PM memleak: JT-Shop / Tom_L, is it possible to make a GUI that looks nearly identical to axis with FlexGUI?
04:37 PM memleak: I asked turboss if it could be done with qtpyvcp and he said it is but it'd be some work.
04:38 PM Tom_L: same
04:38 PM memleak: so it is possible? :)
04:38 PM Tom_L: but why would you?
04:38 PM Tom_L: anything is possible
04:38 PM memleak: well for one, axis doesn't work at the moment in gentoo due to the count/names problem
04:38 PM memleak: but gentoo loves flexgui lol
04:38 PM Tom_L: i'm not sure you could duplicate it exactly
04:39 PM memleak: but it'd be close?
04:39 PM Tom_L: sounds like a good you project :)
04:40 PM JT-Shop: memleak, of course you can
04:41 PM JT-Shop: I make one that was similar to keystick once
04:41 PM memleak: JT-Shop, i just want to say thank you for making flexgui in qt6
04:41 PM memleak: g2g
04:41 PM JT-Shop: you're welcome
04:42 PM JT-Shop: all along I wanted to not have a gui that used older qt
04:42 PM JT-Shop: that didn't use
04:43 PM JT-Shop: or mayby the first line was correct didn't use older qt even
04:46 PM JT-Shop: memleak, I made several gui's using qtpyvcp but it is a lot of work and that was the driving idea behind flex to make it easy to make any gui you want
04:48 PM Tom_L: hope tonight isn't round 2 with the wind here. one night without power was quite enough
04:48 PM JT-Shop: yeah no power sucks
04:49 PM JT-Shop: I usually wait an hour or so before firing up the huge 3phase generator
04:49 PM Tom_L: soon after i got the gen up and goin it came back on
04:49 PM Tom_L: figures
04:49 PM Tom_L: i waited until he had to get up
04:49 PM Tom_L: i didn't sleep much though
04:49 PM JT-Shop: at least for me all I have to do is start the gen and flip a couple of breakers to bring it online
04:50 PM Tom_L: not alot more here, just roll it out the garage door, flip 2 breakers and plug it in
04:52 PM JT-Shop: at one time I considered getting a propane generator and putting it behind the propane tanks and automatic transfer switch
04:53 PM JT-Shop: steering gearbox is almost ready to go back together
04:53 PM Tom_L: my friend that got one from a grocery store did that
04:53 PM Tom_L: nice
04:53 PM JT-Shop: just have to press one seal in and just finished making the press tool
04:53 PM Tom_L: you ever find that on archives?
04:53 PM JT-Shop: no
04:54 PM JT-Shop: I would like to find it an repost it on the forum
04:55 PM JT-Shop: the guy is really being an ass deleting that stuff
04:55 PM xxcoder: that sucks
04:59 PM Tom_L: do you recall the date?
05:00 PM JT-Shop: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-tech-performance/810751-steering-box-rebuild-procedures.html
05:01 PM xxcoder: deleted 20 years later wiw
05:01 PM JT-Shop: yeah he has developed some issues it seems
05:02 PM Tom_L: searching all sites
05:02 PM JT-Shop: ok
05:02 PM Tom_L: https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-tech-performance*
05:03 PM Tom_L: search that and you'll get a list
05:03 PM Tom_L: it may not be archived yet
05:03 PM Tom_L: takes a while to load
05:03 PM JT-Shop: I didn't come up with that search
05:04 PM Tom_L: generated 200 pages of archived lists
05:05 PM Tom_L: then i'm searching that list for steering-box
05:09 PM Tom_L: Mar 7 is the latest log
05:14 PM JT-Shop: when he posted it they didn't have the tech section
05:21 PM Tom_L: also looked under c3-general and came up empty
05:25 PM Tom_L: did find this but not what you're looking for: https://www.corvettemagazine.com/1963-1982-corvette-steering-box-rebuild/
06:01 PM * JT-Shop calls it a night
06:59 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> well - we might get 6 inches of show through tomorrow
06:59 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> they are already closing schools
06:59 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> (rain -> ice -> snow)
08:06 PM roycroft: 6"? that's just a dusting
08:07 PM roycroft: all that would do around here is shut everything down and create a mass panic at the mere possibility of getting that much snow
08:08 PM roycroft: pretty much the same reaction to a possible 6" as to a possible 6 flakes of snow evenly distribute around western oregon
08:10 PM roycroft: i just rough milled some wood for my moldings
08:11 PM roycroft: it is at 12% moisture - i hope it doesn't move much as it dries out
08:11 PM roycroft: i milled it 1/16" oversize, as that's as much as i could do on the thickness
10:47 PM lcnc-relay: <yikityyax@> Hey all... I need a suggestion for hardware. I have a laptop with lCNC installed... touch screen, folio flip, etc. wifi/USB 2/3 (no c interfaces). I need some sort of programmable card that can support the X Y1 y2 Z A axis with stops on each end (8 inputs) to a closed loop steppers. What would be the easiest FPGA board to use?
10:56 PM roycroft: mesa 7i96s
10:56 PM roycroft: if you can find one
10:57 PM roycroft: or mesa 7i76eu
10:57 PM roycroft: which are more expensive, but available
10:59 PM lcnc-relay: <yikityyax@> what is the interface to PC?
11:00 PM roycroft: ethernet
11:05 PM lcnc-relay: <yikityyax@> and that one will do all controld? closed loop steppers, end stops, macro buttons etc?
11:05 PM lcnc-relay: <yikityyax@> external relays?
