04:30 AM lcnc-relay: <oddname_skane@> in regards to my touchoff question is one tool is set as 0 on the material, then after a toolchange and tool touch of that tool shold also be at 0 on material?
04:31 AM lcnc-relay: <oddname_skane@> * fs
04:33 AM * mlu touches oddname_skane@
04:38 AM Tom_L: yup
04:38 AM Tom_L: set both to 0 with the tool loaded
04:38 AM Tom_L: that's the 'master' tool the others are referenced from
05:40 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
08:15 PM xxcoder: simple guy video today
08:16 PM xxcoder: he makes dehumidifer part with latge
08:37 PM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> skunkworks8841@ as usual, anything but LCNC, what the hell happened 15-20 years ago?
08:38 PM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> I can let someone know that LCNC can get all that running in a few days and the first reaction is : Oh I can write something to do that in 6+ months
08:38 PM xxcoder: not invented here problem
08:40 PM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> who has the free time?
09:00 PM roycroft: so i got my window casing sample all painted and put it up on the window
09:00 PM roycroft: and it does not look right
09:01 PM roycroft: i just did a minor change and am printing it again
09:01 PM xxcoder: doh what was iffy
09:01 PM roycroft: just the shape
09:01 PM roycroft: it printed exactly as i intended
09:01 PM roycroft: but one of the lines looked too thin when it was installed
09:02 PM roycroft: anyway, i think this second sample will be the ticket
09:02 PM xxcoder: ahh yeah hard to tell when its digital in cad
09:02 PM roycroft: not only is this faster than making it out of wood
09:02 PM roycroft: it saved me from buying a $75 cutter that i don't need now
09:03 PM xxcoder: I uppose its cheaper if you include time and wages for yourself but if not its not cheapr
09:03 PM roycroft: i'll have my second sample in a couple hours, but the post-processing will take a couple days
09:05 PM roycroft: i think the cutter i need to swap out is cheaper for the new design than the original
09:05 PM roycroft: and now that i think about it, there's a small chance i already have it in stock
09:06 PM roycroft: it's a bullnose cutter, and i don't use them often, so i don't have many
09:06 PM roycroft: especially in the larger sizes
09:07 PM roycroft: i just realized that i have not used my router table since i moved
09:07 PM roycroft: and this job definitely needs the router table - there's no way i could do it with a hand-held router
