02:07 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> moin
02:51 AM Deejay: moin
03:06 AM lcnc-relay: <vibram@> hello
03:28 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> contrary to EU-europe where eggs are not washed
03:35 AM lcnc-relay: <meisterdippel@> my 2 eggs are washed 😂
03:35 AM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> Green eggs for the win
03:36 AM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@> I could not would not with a goat
03:42 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> it's a trade barrier. in us you have to wash, in eu you are not allowed to. not that it would make any sense shipping eggs accross atlantic.
03:45 AM yaqwsx9 is now known as yaqwsx
04:18 AM Tom_L: morning
07:16 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> Lol.. the split unit is flashing an error code this morning.. it means the outside unit shut down because it is colder than -13f
07:38 AM JT-Cave: 13°F here
07:45 AM Tom_L: -3°F
07:53 AM rdtsc-w: 6°F; morning from NW Ohio
07:54 AM rdtsc-w: Remember how froggy we were in our younger years? As a teen, had one of these https://www.cmsnl.com/img/community/vehicles/7/71/713/713311/201305070147450.Rover%2012.JPG and clearly remember buzzing up and down the street (sideways) when it was -15F... couldn't do that too long, maybe half an hour... before ice all over face lol
07:57 AM Tom_L: you hop right on that and buzz anywhere you wish and i'll stand here and watch from inside
08:14 AM bjorkint0sh: goodness. that is so nice rdtsc-w. is it new?
10:46 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> I still have one of those, 1973 CT70. I also bought a TW200 a few years ago and studded up the tires, awesome winter bike. Perfect for those mostly clear days where you'd be snowmobiling anyway
10:48 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> https://photos.app.goo.gl/DUxhAhpow8BvgdiL9
10:48 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> extended the swingarm so I could squeeze a slightly bigger rear tire in there, and a much larger fuel tank off of an XT250
10:49 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> all day exploring in the bush (in the summer usually) for less than $20!
10:51 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> rs: the eggs aren't washed because they last FOREVER without going bad that way. The protective slime that dries into a varnish keeps them good even unrefridgerated. Wish we weren't so squeamish that way over here. A friend's hobby farm eggs last a good 6 months before I've eaten through the huge stash he drops off with me.
10:51 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> oh, scrolling up farther, that point has been made, sorry!
10:52 AM xxcoder: lol :) yeah I wish usa dont wash eggs but here we go
10:52 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> yah - someone freaked out that we had eggs on the counter when I was little...
10:55 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> lol - I had a couple adherence issues with the bambu - I finally cleaned the build plate with soap and water. Boy - I didn't know I had that much glue stick on it.
10:59 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> (that is the meme on the bambu forums - having any problem at all? Did you clean the buildplate?)
11:00 AM xxcoder: "have you adjusted live z" was a long running meme on prusa discord, before mk4 ended it
11:02 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> lol
11:03 AM xxcoder: bad live z can cause so many issues that fixinf that alone fixes most issues lol
11:03 AM xxcoder: or make other problems much easier to find
11:04 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> hey - the heat pump turned back on
11:05 AM Tom_L: skunkworks, my kid works in a hvac lab and they have tested heatpumps for areas down to -20F now
11:06 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> -11f
11:06 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> Tom_L: they will keep getting better
11:06 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> pretty cool
11:06 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> I was supprised it was running down to -13..
11:06 AM Tom_L: he said they're looking at using propane as a refrigerant as well
11:06 AM Tom_L: kinda surprising
11:08 AM Tom_L: aparently several refrigerants are flamable already
11:09 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> yes - a lot of the newer ones are.
11:09 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> lol - I feel warm air blowing on me. wonder how much power it is using
11:09 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@> (eh - I don't want to know)
11:10 AM Tom_L: probably not
11:15 AM lcnc-relay: <thorhian@> I found out about Propane being used a refrigerant from Hyperspace Pirate. He has made several refrigeration systems on his channel.
11:17 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> yeah, R290 is hydrocarbon based and similar to propane instead of floroethane based. Propane is what's used for pressure in gas blow back airsoft guns (though some use co2). At least it's not hydrogen, that only needs 4% hydrogen to air to burn!
11:18 AM lcnc-relay: <voiditswarranty@> I'd love straight propane, then I wouldn't need a $200 service call minimum to deal with my system
11:22 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
11:46 AM rdtsc-w: Ammonia is an excellent refrigerant, and is used commercially. Not residential, because it is corrosive to copper and does have a narrow flammability window.
11:47 AM bjorkint0sh: one of Einstein and Szilards inventions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einstein_refrigerator
11:54 AM roycroft: ammonia is commonly used in rv refrigerators
11:56 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
12:15 PM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
12:15 PM rdtsc-w: Interesting bjorkint0sh... hyperspace pirate should make one of those :)
12:15 PM rdtsc-w: or one of those new-fangled "magneto-caloric" ones
12:15 PM bjorkint0sh: fun fact, before he invented the Diesel Engine, RC Diesel was a refrigeration engineer.
10:05 PM lcnc-relay: <big_kevin420@> kid at work says to me today "how hard do you think it would be for me to make a cnc?"
10:05 PM lcnc-relay: <big_kevin420@> _cakeslob wrings his hands_
10:11 PM lcnc-relay: <big_kevin420@> good thing i always build cnc machines in pairs, just incase.
10:12 PM lcnc-relay: <big_kevin420@> the only part i really dont like about it, is that if i give him my cnc parts
10:13 PM lcnc-relay: <big_kevin420@> he will see what they look like, and then he will know that they werent work parts
10:14 PM lcnc-relay: <big_kevin420@> so i would bust my self for making cnc parts on the clock
