12:19 AM jpa-: 70A wiring can be a bit annoying
12:36 AM jpa-: but i guess 10A @ 24V is sufficient for pretty much anything, good to have some peak acceleration margin
12:36 AM jpa-: especially if the big BLDCs have large rotational inertia
02:23 AM Deejay: moin
03:19 AM lcnc-relay: <Lcvette> VFD 0-10v analog in with enable and direction

04:47 AM JT-Cave: morning
04:50 AM Tom_L: 32F
04:50 AM Tom_L: hi 53F
04:53 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> anybody here in the know who is "in charge" of wiki.linuxcnc.org
04:54 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> that means anybody who has administrative access to the hosting
04:55 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> there are some issues with https going on and i would like to help getting that fixed
05:22 AM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@discord> Well if you find out, please let us know. The actual admin to enable new certs.
05:22 AM lcnc-relay: <captainhindsight_.@discord> rs. ^^^
06:10 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> the https site is disabled, it's not the cert that's the problem
06:31 AM JT-Cave: I don't even know where the wiki is hosted...
06:47 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> nobody seems to know...
06:48 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> IMO the wiki without the stylesheet actually is an improvement
06:57 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> but it's not only the stylesheet that doesn't work, also attachment-links go to https://
07:00 AM JT-Cave: seb might be the only one that knows all about the infrastructure
07:01 AM JT-Cave: I have access to dreamhost.com forum stuff
07:16 AM rdtsc-wk: rs, Andy has pushed a broken-link fix recently; linuxcnc.org jekyll source is on github: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/wlo - unsure if that includes the wiki
07:18 AM JT-Cave: the wlo only has a link to the wiki, I just looked
07:19 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> wiki and www.linuxcnc are all hosted on the same ip address, forum points to somewhere else
07:19 AM JT-Cave: the forum is on digitalocean.com
07:20 AM JT-Cave: where is the wiki and linuxcnc.org hosted?
07:20 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> dreamhost.com
07:28 AM Tom_L: JT-Cave, you see the yt i posed? may have gotten lost in all the disconnects
07:29 AM Tom_L: in -dev
07:29 AM JT-Cave: yup he made a pattern lathe
07:48 AM JT-Cave: the jigs he used looked too good to be made with hand tools
07:53 AM Tom_L: likely so
08:11 AM rdtsc-wk: Had to drill a 14ga stainless enclosure to mount a new power supply... one hole wasn't too bad and only went through one M4 drill... the other one work-hardened and went through three more.

08:18 AM rdtsc-wk: wonder if the work-hardened one could have been tempered instead... may have to try that someday
08:20 AM JT-Shop: stainless enclosures need slow speed and heavy feed... many electricians have lots of problems drilling stainless
08:54 AM rdtsc-wk: it was challenging for sure
10:46 AM rdtsc-wk: Next time I'll hit that trouble drill spot with a tiny flame; should be able to "blue" and soften it with little collateral damage. Hindsight is always 20/20
10:54 AM roycroft: you can harden stainless steel just by hitting a center punch too hard
10:54 AM roycroft: and it's all downhill from there
10:54 AM rdtsc-wk: that's what I think happened... didn't want the drill to skip; first one was ok, but second one was punched a little harder
11:56 AM rdtsc_away is now known as rdtsc
