01:19 AM Deejay: moin
03:38 AM mrec: did anyone try to coordinate a linuxcnc system with a commercial system via drip-feeding?
03:39 AM mrec: I seriously plan to put a small mini-lathe into a large CNC and synchronise the mitsubishi spindle with the lathe spindle
03:40 AM mrec: for cutting gears.
03:42 AM jpa-: synchronize? as in rotationally synchronous, or just move one machine, wait, move another machine?
04:03 AM lcnc-relay: <rs> mrec: who is drip-feeding whom?

04:39 PM xxcoder: roycroft: you in?

06:20 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@discord> Not doing hydraulics for a while sure makes my head hurt.. Mainly about fittings
06:21 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@discord> The spool valves have 1/2 G which is 1/2 bsp
06:22 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@discord> Dad has one already hooked up on the tractor and used 1/2 npt...
06:22 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841@discord> No leaks but the internet says that wont work lol

09:28 PM roycroft: iirc at 1/2", bsp and npt have the same diameter and thread pitch
09:28 PM roycroft: but the former has 60 degree threads and the latter 55 degree
09:28 PM roycroft: if they're both tapered it should be possible to snug them up so they don't leak
09:29 PM xxcoder: hey roy. looking at my kitchen cabiets and one corner being so deep in and useless, I had probably stupid idea lol
09:29 PM xxcoder: "bottom opening" drawers
09:29 PM xxcoder: makes corner accessable without being super awkward
09:29 PM xxcoder: what you think lol
09:30 PM roycroft: there are a few ways to deal with that space now
09:30 PM xxcoder: basically you pop it downwards and it extends and it has few shelves or something
09:30 PM xxcoder: yeah?
09:30 PM roycroft: a pac-man shaped lazy susan works well
09:30 PM xxcoder: too small for that
09:30 PM roycroft: you don't run the front of the cabinet on a diagonal to do that
09:30 PM roycroft: you make it l-shaped
09:31 PM roycroft: but the "bottom opening" drawer idea is worth some though
09:31 PM roycroft: t
09:31 PM xxcoder: certainly interesting if nothing else. im sure it would need counterbalance and magnet to stay up
09:37 PM xxcoder: if I had skills I would have tried lol
09:50 PM roycroft: oh, so what we're experiencing is called a "bomb cyclone" now
09:50 PM roycroft: it used to be an "atmospheric river"
09:50 PM roycroft: and before that it was "a lot of rain"
09:50 PM roycroft: or, in the pacific northwest dialect of english, "an average day"
09:51 PM xxcoder: its starry clear skies here. barely rained at all
09:52 PM xxcoder: my 2 cheapie 400w heaters is going well to keep home warm
09:52 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:443/~webpage/cnc/threading/charts/Thread%20Data%20Chart.pdf
09:52 PM roycroft: it was overcast but dry here when i left for eugene earlier today
09:52 PM Tom_L: thread charts
09:52 PM roycroft: but it started raining as soon as i started heading down
09:52 PM roycroft: and it's gotten worse as the day has progressed
09:56 PM xxcoder: seems your place got the tacomas share
09:56 PM acer is now known as _unreal_
09:56 PM _unreal_: its 77f outside
09:56 PM Tom_L: no it's not
09:56 PM Tom_L: it's 43
09:57 PM Tom_L: check again... :)
09:57 PM _unreal_: I'm in shorts and sweating
09:57 PM roycroft: it's about 4c here
09:57 PM xxcoder: 45f, or 7c
09:58 PM xxcoder: or 280k
10:31 PM roycroft: 280.15k
10:32 PM xxcoder: yeah, just didnt care about .15k, I wouldnt be able to feel the difference lol

11:24 PM lcnc-relay: <soganatsu@discord> 283.15° Kelvin here 🥶
11:29 PM xxcoder1: nice, warmer than here
