10:40 AM roycroft: it's usually the end of november at the earliest when the ski areas open around here
10:40 AM roycroft: pre-thanksgiving skiing is unheard of until this year
10:40 AM roycroft: it's been as last as january when they've opened at times in the recent past
10:41 AM roycroft: it's been getting later and later as the years go by, with the notable exception of this year
12:20 PM roycroft: the snow has stopped falling, and it did not accumulate after all
12:20 PM roycroft: the pass is pretty nasty right now though
12:20 PM roycroft: almost zero visibility, and a lot of snow on the road
12:21 PM roycroft: and there is a crash right by the pass, so the road is closed

10:10 PM roycroft: it's not gotten really cold here yet, but when it's gotten down to freezing i've felt the window sills and the area surrounding the windows and they're not too cold
