08:55 AM rdtsc: Tom and JT, on a whim I removed the menu from rpi_mill_3, which then won't run and linuxcnc gives an attribute not found err. Afterwards, I tried to manually re-add it, and Designer renames everything to *_2 and no menu items work, interesting.

08:59 AM rdtsc: In designer I "unpacked" the rpi_mill_3 into a single 1920x1080 window. Over ssh -X was getting 1-3 frames per second. But running it locally on the pi with screen=full getting at least 10-20fps, nice

Was looking at a massive injection-molding machine; the motor terminals were 150F at the contactor (after they called me out because the previous contactor burned up...) Alas, no longer doing service calls. That was some hot work in the summer.

03:05 PM rdtsc: xxcoder, some equipment has a supercap to hold some volts while swapping the battery - gives you like 2 minutes. Other equipment (usually older) has nothing - swapping the battery loses position, period.
