01:00 AM Deejay: moin
02:54 AM lcnc-relay: <tcwilliamson> anyone know a good source for a 666Hz EtherCAT 2.2kW Drive? 220V 1 phase to 220V 3 phase
03:17 AM lcnc-relay: <ranga> GPS speedometers are illegal in many countries and legally indefensible (won't save you from a ticket) in most others... I still recomment a drivetrain driven unit... even if its just a toothed wheel on an axle feeding a hall effect sensor.
03:18 AM lcnc-relay: <ranga> you can get some really period-looking pulse-driven units

02:00 PM JT-Shop: wow
02:01 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> Although I sent it away last week and am hoping that everything comes back correctly.. (the title was never transfered and such)
02:01 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> The Vin is like 1000000000003839WI
02:02 PM JT-Shop: I just looked and they started using vin numbers in `54
02:03 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> Ah - I wondered when that started..

02:18 PM JT-Shop: 2009 Limited Edition
02:18 PM JT-Shop: only 300 made
02:20 PM solarwind: Oh nice. What model is it?
02:20 PM JT-Shop: GoldWing
02:21 PM solarwind: Looks nice
02:21 PM JT-Shop: thanks
02:21 PM solarwind: I have a BMW Rnine T and a Triumph Speed Triple
02:23 PM JT-Shop: bet they are fun to ride
02:34 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> love the Wing JT, she is a beute! wish i still had mine...
02:40 PM JT-Shop: thanks
02:41 PM JT-Shop: I'm hoping the wife can ride again before fall
02:42 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> hope so too. i know i had fun riding mine. never from the two-up seat though...
02:43 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> https://jauriarts.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/jauriarts.org/cNdyTXdWGdeHjNkoPMnoFyiv/IMG_0206.JPG
02:43 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> 1988 GL1500
02:48 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> unfortunately, i had to sell it to get my shop platform started... but i will never forget the old girl.
02:55 PM Loetmichel: travis_farmer: you know what they call that in germany? "Durchgesägtes Cabrio" (Sawn in half convertible) :D
02:55 PM Loetmichel: That said: that Gold Wing looks nice in yellow.
02:57 PM JT-Shop: good looking wing
02:57 PM JT-Shop: I had a black 1500 before the 1800 and I don't miss the carbs lol
02:58 PM Loetmichel: sadly, the only bike i am allowed to drive is that one: http://www.cyrom.org/palbum/main.php?g2_itemId=15295&g2_imageViewsIndex=1
02:58 PM Loetmichel: (its a 50cc!)
02:59 PM JT-Shop: looks more impressive than my Honda 50 Super Sport did
02:59 PM Loetmichel: its mostly plastic, made to look like a shrunken Harley
03:00 PM Loetmichel: but its a nice ride when it works.
03:00 PM Loetmichel: You'll need ever single one of the 6 gears though. 50cc isnt THAT much power :)
03:01 PM JT-Shop: even in 1968 when I had the Honda 50 I dreamed about getting a scrambler 90
03:05 PM pcw--home: My first vehicle was a CT90
03:07 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> my first vehicle was a Scorpion 400cc snowmobile i dug out of a snow-bank and got running 🙂
03:07 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> *250cc i mean
03:19 PM JT-Shop: https://img.scgpix.com/listimg/img1_0117/23/img_7U3VS62CWcp9cJW.jpg
03:20 PM JT-Shop: the super sport had an upswept pipe
04:16 PM lcnc-relay: <travis_farmer> well, looks like my camper won't sell... so no finishing my shop this year, short of a miracle. so much for hopes and dreams... 😦
05:39 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> I don't think I would last a year if I drove a motorcycle.
05:42 PM XXCoder: completely impossible for me now
05:53 PM CaptHindsight: I enjoy watching the riders split lanes at 80mph+ in springtime
05:54 PM CaptHindsight: can't be the same ones every year
05:58 PM roycroft: that's legal in california
05:58 PM roycroft: it's illegal in oregon, but the california bikers do it anyway, and freak people out
06:00 PM CaptHindsight: I gave up motorbikes when I had kids, now they worry about me
06:02 PM CaptHindsight: I've been rear ended in small convertible cars. Around here it's just too risky to be in a small vehicle.
06:07 PM * roycroft is unhappy when 18-wheelers follow him in his prius so close he can count the truck driver's nose hairs
06:08 PM roycroft: one big adjustment i've made so far regarding my new house is that on the road up to the house i drive at 60mph, while the posted speed limit is 55mph
06:08 PM XXCoder: I usually vary my car speed by tiny amount when that happens
06:08 PM roycroft: prior to starting to move up there i never, ever sped
06:08 PM XXCoder: making it hard for someone to follow me very closely
06:08 PM roycroft: but going 5 over the limit makes it less likely people will try to run me off the road
06:09 PM roycroft: it's a narrow 2 lane road that goes up into the mountains
06:09 PM roycroft: there are several slow vehicle pullouts, and i use them all, of course
06:09 PM roycroft: but it's an impatient lot that travel that road
06:09 PM CaptHindsight: frantic
06:09 PM roycroft: pretty much
06:10 PM CaptHindsight: and when you get hit by them they raise your insurance rates
06:10 PM XXCoder: want to arrive 30 minute earlier? leave 30 min earlier
06:10 PM roycroft: i have people barreling up at me at high speed, slam on their brakes and flash their lights and honk their horn when they get behind me, then pass at the first opportunity (often a few seconds later), and make a left turn 30 feet after that
06:11 PM CaptHindsight: my favorite except they use the turn signal after they cut you off
06:11 PM roycroft: i don't think i mentioned that it's a very winding road
06:11 PM roycroft: but since i said it goes up to the mountains that was probably apparent
06:12 PM roycroft: and yes, big trucks overturn frequently when they get to tight curves
06:12 PM roycroft: usually several times/year the road is close for hours because a truck flipped over
06:12 PM CaptHindsight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kP6R0clBGY
06:13 PM CaptHindsight: some kids have to learn everything the hard way
06:14 PM roycroft: what if i crossed the road holding a raspberry?
06:15 PM Unterhausen: I guess Rob Lee hasn't seen the Melbourne Tool Company planes. Or he is too mad to type
06:17 PM Unterhausen: at first I thought they were reselling Veritas
06:17 PM Unterhausen: https://melbournetool.com/melbourne-tool-company-kit-of-nine-planes-and-tools/
06:18 PM roycroft: they do look kind of like veritas
06:18 PM roycroft: i still prefer the classic look of lie-nielsen planes
06:18 PM roycroft: which is why i have so many of them
06:19 PM roycroft: i don't mind more modern designs inherently, but the veritas aesthetic never struck a chord in me
06:35 PM Unterhausen: veritas looks cheap to me, until I look at the prices
06:42 PM roycroft: their tools look very well made, and their steel for their blades is supposed to be phenomenal
06:42 PM roycroft: but i just can't get past the aesthetic
06:42 PM roycroft: and my lie-nie planes perform very very well
07:07 PM solarwind: CaptHindsight I was going to ask you something but I forgot
07:07 PM solarwind: I decided you needed to know this piece of information
07:31 PM CaptHindsight: Solarwind: I forgot what you were going to tell me
07:34 PM CaptHindsight: remind me to ask you about what you forgot to say
10:42 PM rue_mohr: !!!!!!!!!!! has anyone seem tom_L?
10:44 PM XXCoder: only talked in here in early morning
10:44 PM rue_mohr: oh, so he's not dissapeared for long
10:45 PM rue_mohr: probably-not-dead
10:58 PM roycroft: i think he's on a trip
11:04 PM rue_mohr: heh, after last time I'm surprised he didn't give me a heads up
