01:46 AM Deejay: moin
02:09 AM XXCoder: JT-Shop: https://youtu.be/dlgd45ESSzE chicken feeder
02:15 AM lcnc-relay: <oddname_skane> its been suuuuuch a long time since I installed my old version of linuxcnc on my old mechmate and now im jumping back into this rabbithole of cnc-controlling software.... step 1 how the frick do I mak
02:15 AM lcnc-relay: <oddname_skane> e the usb-installer? 😄
02:25 AM XXCoder: lol been a while since I last made linux install usb drive
02:25 AM XXCoder: not too sure
02:28 AM rifraf: a tool like rufus? have not make the install medium yet
02:31 AM lcnc-relay: <oddname_skane> ah so rufus + iso
02:31 AM lcnc-relay: <oddname_skane> quick enough to try 😄
04:09 AM lcnc-relay: <TurBoss> good morning
04:10 AM lcnc-relay: <TurBoss> to make quick bootable USB i use Ventoy it allows to store ISO images in the USB and boot from them directly
04:37 AM Tom_L: morning
04:38 AM lcnc-relay: <TurBoss> morning Tom_L 🙂
04:50 AM NoSpark: What is the recommended method of handling critical and non-critical failure inputs? For example, my machin uses compressed air, but it's not really critical for the actual machining. is there a way to connect this input to "optional stop"
04:52 AM NoSpark: should critical monitors like voltage sag (bad power here, low voltage dropouts cause weird issues with the servo drives), overtemp monitors etc be connected to ESTOP? Is there a better method that might allow for recovery of the part? is there a "HARD STOP" funtion?

05:04 AM jpa-: NoSpark: maybe connect it to pause and a message?
05:05 AM NoSpark: jpa-: using halui?
05:05 AM jpa-: https://linuxcnc.org/docs/html/man/man9/message.9.html
05:06 AM jpa-: and yeah, halui.program.pause
05:09 AM JT-Cave: morning
05:09 AM TurBoss: good morning JT
05:10 AM JT-Cave: hello TurBoss
05:10 AM TurBoss: :)
08:18 AM JT-Cave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3xK9o8K2ZU
08:18 AM JT-Cave: getting there...
09:33 AM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> Neat!
10:11 PM Tom_L: huh?
10:11 PM Tom_L: skunkworks, http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/Flex_conversion1.png

10:12 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/JT-SHOP/flexgui/Flex_conversion_pause_enable.png
10:12 PM Tom_L: on the last one, pause should be enabled
10:13 PM Tom_L: _lb is a qt label
10:14 PM Tom_L: it's how he's naming his widgets
10:14 PM Tom_L: _lb _pb etc
10:15 PM Tom_L: https://www.gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/flexgui/index.html
10:22 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> very cool!
10:22 PM lcnc-relay: <skunkworks8841> I was just being goofy
10:22 PM Tom_L: i know
10:24 PM roycroft: i think all you have to do is install a coin slot on the front of your cnc machine, and for every £1 coin you deposit it executes another chunk of gcode
10:25 PM Tom_L: JT-Cave, pause should be enabled upon 'run program', also the pause widget is needed until you change the code to not look for the _lb instead of the action
