12:01 AM mrec: ok too imaginary I renamed /lib but ldd still links against /lib files :D
01:41 AM Deejay: moin
04:15 AM c101horse8332[m]: hmm, the probing does some weird shit on qtdragon
04:15 AM c101horse8332[m]: the pi might indeed not be the best thing for this
04:33 AM Tom_L: morning
04:35 AM XXCoder: c101 my intital plan if I resume working on router is to use rpi4 but i feel more like ill just reuse my old pc and BOb and drivers like before, but with updated linuxcnc
04:40 AM c101horse8332[m]: pi might work for just basic stuff using axis, but anything more fancy than that it seems to struggle, stuff like butons on screen hanging, and just general slow running
04:41 AM c101horse8332[m]: oh well, atleast i tried
04:41 AM XXCoder: you using sdcard or usb drive>?
04:43 AM XXCoder: if youre using sdcard, dd over to usb drive and try it again
04:43 AM XXCoder: see if its better
04:47 AM c101horse8332[m]: sd, what do you mean with dd?
04:48 AM XXCoder: dd is write disk from whatever other disk
04:48 AM XXCoder: you can dd from sdcard to usb drive, as long as usb drive is larger
04:49 AM XXCoder: then remove sdcard and boot from usb
04:51 AM JT-Cave: morning
04:52 AM travis_farmer[m]: G'Morning
07:21 AM Tom_L: 19°F
07:29 AM JT-Cave: 30°F
07:29 AM JT-Cave: had to take the frozen hose off this morning...
07:38 AM * travis_farmer[m] gets trash ready to take to the landfill...
08:09 AM * JT-Cave starts some fires
09:07 AM Lcvette[m]: JT-Cave: did you get any news on the C8?
09:10 AM JT-Cave: the dealer didn't get an allocation last thursday so next allocation list is the 23rd
09:11 AM Lcvette[m]: doh
09:11 AM JT-Cave: and I'm up next at that dealer for a c8
09:11 AM Lcvette[m]: 😄
09:12 AM JT-Cave: I just hope it doesn't take as long as the Ridgeline did... waited 9 months for it
09:12 AM Lcvette[m]: yeah its gotten ridiculous on some cars lately
09:12 AM JT-Cave: I ordered a 2021 but by the time I got the truck it was a 2022 lol
09:12 AM Lcvette[m]: i neighbbor is waiting for an RS3, he ordered it 14 months ago
09:13 AM Lcvette[m]: they are saying maybe by August
09:13 AM Lcvette[m]: craziness
09:13 AM JT-Cave: the guy that orders the cars for that dealership said the wait for z06 is really long
09:13 AM Lcvette[m]: yeah i bet
09:13 AM JT-Cave: wow that's worse than my truck
09:13 AM Lcvette[m]: they are wicked
09:14 AM Lcvette[m]: when they release the zr1 im sure it will be a 2 year wait at least
09:15 AM Lcvette[m]: that is rumored to be a twin turbo model
09:16 AM JT-Cave: St. Louis has a track you can run on once or twice a month
09:16 AM JT-Cave: a friend runs his c6 up there
09:16 AM Lcvette[m]: road course?
09:17 AM JT-Cave: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_Motorsports_Park
09:18 AM Lcvette[m]: is it just oval?
09:18 AM JT-Cave: https://wwtraceway.com/2022-oval-roadcourse-schedule
09:19 AM JT-Cave: https://i0.wp.com/wwtraceway.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/WWTR_Map_1.6_2.0_B.png?ssl=1
09:20 AM Lcvette[m]: nice
09:20 AM Lcvette[m]: have you been?
09:20 AM JT-Cave: no
09:21 AM * JT-Cave goes to check on breakfast
09:22 AM Lcvette[m]: not sure what they require there, usually you need to get checked out by a seasoned driver go through the classroom section and then ride along and then rack up so many hours of supervised lap tim and then you finally get your solo
09:24 AM Lcvette[m]: i used to go VIR frequently when i was younger and single..lol
11:18 AM unterhaus: I got a good deal on a portable bandsaw from home depot. I'm starting to think it was too good of a deal and they will never ship it
11:26 AM JT-Woodshop: not to worry, I had it shipped to my house
11:53 AM unterhaus: JT, I hope you like it
12:01 PM unterhaus: JT, good news, they just shipped it so you should get it tuesday
12:02 PM unterhaus: status says they just shipped it but I should get it today
12:23 PM CaptHindsight[m]: if there was only some way to reliably track shipments by placing unique labels on them and scanning them as they travel
12:31 PM CaptHindsight[m]: one thought is a code on each box and some sort of scanner and networked computers that can access the info in real time and provide you with up to date info
12:31 PM CaptHindsight[m]: some day maybe we will have this tech
12:41 PM CaptHindsight[m]: until then we just have to live with the shippers guesswork
12:50 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://linuxgizmos.com/sfera-labs-debuts-iot-modules-based-on-raspberry-pi-cm-modules/
12:50 PM CaptHindsight[m]: snaps on to DIN rails
12:51 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://linuxgizmos.com/raspberry-pi-cm4-automation-controller-has-optional-ups-and-m-2/
12:55 PM unterhaus: I just din mount rpi cases
12:59 PM unterhaus: cap'n, you almost have me talked into getting a libre potato
01:00 PM unterhaus: probably have to learn how to build a kernel again though
01:03 PM unterhaus: apparently the ufo we shot down over Alaska was made of metal
03:20 PM solarwind: CaptainHindsight LOL I know right
03:52 PM JT[m]: Damn got a P0492 H C code on the C5
04:02 PM JT[m]: Lcvette you ever get that code?
04:04 PM Lcvette[m]: they are pretty common
04:05 PM Lcvette[m]: if memory serves it is the check valves for the secondary air injection reaction system
04:05 PM JT[m]: Ok, thanks
04:06 PM Lcvette[m]: sometimes you can free them up with some compressed air and wd40 but its a stop gap
04:06 PM Lcvette[m]: you will need to pull the intake manifold to replace and replace all the intake manifold seals while you are in there as it can also be an air leak between seal ports
04:06 PM JT[m]: Only has to last until the C8 arrives :)
04:07 PM Lcvette[m]: https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1602-how-to-fix-secondary-air-injection-code-on-a-c5-corvette/
04:08 PM Lcvette[m]: use this quick fix then and it should unstick the check valves for a while
04:08 PM JT[m]: Ok, thanks
05:47 PM JT-Shop: Lcvette[m], I cleared the code and it didn't come back on so I'll wait and see I think
07:56 PM Lcvette[m]: it will get progressivly worse once it starts happening.. just a matter if the check valves stick when the air pump turns on
09:03 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
09:19 PM CaptHindsight[m]: unterhaus: potayto potahto
09:20 PM roycroft: are you saying alaska is potato?
09:20 PM roycroft: it used to be, but we bought it
09:21 PM XXCoder: baked alaska
09:22 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Alaskan root vegetables for $500 please
09:23 PM roycroft: i mended my fence today
09:24 PM roycroft: that should help keep the vagabonds from trying to set up camp in my yard
09:29 PM CaptHindsight[m]: works for wandering minstrels as well
09:31 PM CaptHindsight[m]: ever seen wandering minstrels in a fenced yard?
09:31 PM CaptHindsight[m]: with no gaps

11:48 PM roycroft: i may live in a redneck neighborhood, but even we have standards
11:49 PM roycroft: we don't allow any minstrels arouhd her
11:49 PM roycroft: troubadours, maybe
11:50 PM XXCoder: lol friends with bicycling minstrel
