12:40 AM jpa-: Bleepshop: no free usb ports?
12:50 AM Bleepshop: PC is rebuilt. I'm getting -19.6/ 0.6 / 21 from "latency-histogram --nobase --sbinsize 1000 --show", been running for ~40 minutes over kodi [fullscreen] reading from the minidlna server, scattered on top are 6 glxgears, the controlling terminal for lat-hist, another terminal running top with the refresh at 0.5 and an then a remote ssh session with top the same way from my desktop.
12:50 AM Bleepshop: jpa-: No old cables I can find at the moment and a cat insisting on getting her ears scratched while I try to type. LOL
12:50 AM Bleepshop: I'm gonna screenshot the whole desktop in the morning after I wake up if it doesn't lock up or catch fire or something.
12:52 AM Bleepshop: Ah. Cant do it at this time. No $ for a 100' #6 feeder cable from the box to the shop, no $ to get the service feed bumped from 60A to 200A so the lights don't brown out in the house if I plug in a heater.
12:53 AM XXCoder: yeah sucks
12:54 AM Bleepshop: I've got a 75', 220V/20A, #10 service cord feeding to the welder cart and from there I've got a 220V cord to the CNC.
12:56 AM Bleepshop: Thankfully I can get chunks of SO cable at scrap prices to make feeder cables..
12:56 AM XXCoder: parastize power from bneighbor ;)
12:56 AM XXCoder: kidding
12:58 AM Bleepshop: XXCoder: I'd have to parasite it from the next block over. They need to add a couple of more transformers on my road. 3?-4? houses all on one stepdown can.
12:58 AM XXCoder: geez
12:58 AM XXCoder: if you could find scrap solar panels you could boost some power on some stuff in shop
01:00 AM Bleepshop: I need more batteries. I've got a 2+kw Tripplite sitting next to me which is god for ~4 minutes on the internal cells. LOL
01:00 AM XXCoder: lol
01:01 AM Bleepshop: It'll run my LED emergency lighting for >10 hours though.
01:02 AM XXCoder: thats great lol
01:06 AM Bleepshop: Pisses off the neighbors because part of that string is xmas lights strung from the shop to the house for path lighting. Their kids give them hell because I'm the only one with some power.
01:07 AM XXCoder: lol
01:14 AM Bleepshop: I've been abusing the hell out of that poor machine for an hour and it's still holding -20.5 / 0.6 / 21. I'll have to figure out a way to load the other network card down tomorrow but I think I have a winner.
01:57 AM Deejay: moin
02:23 AM pere: hi
04:22 AM travis_farmer[m]: G'Morning
05:44 AM travis_farmer[m]: what is, everybody sleeping in? ;-)
06:04 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
06:05 AM JT-Cave: morning
06:08 AM travis_farmer[m]: just discovered that my Oscilloscope can save a BMP image to a flash drive... unfortunately, it is 320X240px, so it is a small image...
06:08 AM * travis_farmer[m] uploaded an image: (21KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/LllJwLMEgogwhfsaGdTxqcVW/1.png >
06:23 AM Tom_L: morning
06:42 AM travis_farmer[m]: Morning Tom_L, how was your holiday?
08:27 AM travis_farmer[m]: ...perhaps he fell back to sleep ;-)
08:59 AM * travis_farmer switches back to IRC from Matrix, as it seems to keep dropping messages, dispite c-log recording them... very curious indeed.
09:00 AM roguish[m]: Tom_L: good morning. got my mill running again. bullseye, with 4.18 kernel
09:01 AM roguish[m]: Where's the chicken man?
09:20 AM * JT-Cave is cleaning chicken shit
09:21 AM roguish[m]: what a good chicken dad
09:26 AM Tom_L: roguish[m], is that the os you started out with?
09:27 AM roguish[m]: yes, a long time ago. then I got caught up in the upgrade game.....stupic
09:27 AM roguish[m]: stupid
09:27 AM Tom_L: around the block and back home again :)
09:28 AM roguish[m]: a few days ago It was sort of running with a 5.18 kernel.. I would do fine for about 10 minutes, then time out and stop.
09:29 AM roguish[m]: when the ethernet times out, it just stops. the spindle stops, the axes motors stop..... pretty dangerous if it happens when actually machining something.
09:37 AM JT-Shop_ is now known as JT-Shop
09:37 AM JT-Shop: which one is bullseye
09:38 AM travis_farmer[m]: 11
09:38 AM JT-Shop: thanks
09:39 AM Tom_L: https://wiki.debian.org/DebianReleases
09:40 AM roguish[m]: I was going to go all the way back to buster (10), but the Debian download page said use bullseye (11)..... so I did that.
09:41 AM Tom_L: it is the current release
09:46 AM JT-Shop: and you believe what debian tells you?
09:46 AM Tom_L: i believe what everyone tells me :)
09:47 AM roguish[m]: even PT Barnum
09:47 AM Tom_L: ... to be crap
09:52 AM Tom_L: i will probably run wheezy on the mill until the MB quits
09:54 AM roguish[m]: if it runs, don't mess with it.
10:10 AM JT-Shop: my CHNC stills uses ubuntu 10
10:11 AM roguish[m]: if it works..... it's aok
10:12 AM roguish[m]: my old BP is back on buster (10) and i am not going to mess with it...
10:15 AM Bleep-CNC: ~ 10 hours of runtime gets me this. https://imgur.com/a/FMKTplu
10:16 AM Bleep-CNC: JT-Cave, JT-Shop, JT-Woodshop, Thank you all for the 11>13 guides.
10:17 AM Tom_L: Bleep-CNC, i see what you meant now :)
10:18 AM Bleepshop: Tom_L: ?
10:18 AM Tom_L: running headless
10:18 AM roycroft: happy boxing day
10:19 AM Bleepshop: That's not headless. That's at the console. I tuned the hell out of t hat lump of crap. LOL
10:19 AM roycroft: i hope you all have some nice things to regift to the servants
10:24 AM Bleepshop: I need to update my isolcpus line to reflect that there are only 2 cores in this box instead of the 4 it was claiming before I turned off all the VM/VT/HT crap.
10:25 AM JT-Woodshop: Bleepshop, yw
10:26 AM Bleepshop: JT-Woodshop: Chickens laying freeze-dried eggs this morning?
10:26 AM Bleepshop: It's almost up to freezing here. LOL
10:27 AM JT-Woodshop: chickens are looking ugly and molting all over the place
10:27 AM JT-Woodshop: no eggs in 3 days
10:28 AM Bleepshop: JT-Woodshop: Molting in this weather is not good IIRC.
10:39 AM Bleepshop: Tom_L: Those numbers look acceptable?
10:41 AM roycroft: it's 13 here already
10:41 AM Tom_L: i'd think so
10:41 AM roycroft: and it's not raining yet, somehow
10:42 AM JT-Cave: yea it's 32°F finally
10:42 AM Tom_L: 23 and ice
10:42 AM Tom_L: nice layer of ice arrived overnite
10:42 AM JT-Cave: forecast here is snow, rain, freezing rain this afternoon
10:43 AM roycroft: we're due for 32mm of rain today - it had better start soon if that much is going to dump
10:43 AM roguish[m]: 43 and foggy here. rain expected later, though the week.
10:43 AM Bleepshop: 32mm in Eugene? Gonna be a dryish day then. LOL
10:44 AM Tom_L: looks like we've reached our high for today
10:45 AM Bleepshop: We just hit 32F and with luck we'll get to 45F this afternoon.
10:46 AM roguish[m]: JT-Cave: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=37.785&lon=-122.422&zoom=8&radar=1&wxstn=0
10:47 AM JT-Woodshop: hmm 58°F in here dunno if I want to start a fire or not
10:48 AM Tom_L: meh, just put a hat on
10:48 AM * JT-Woodshop always wears a cap
10:49 AM roguish[m]: any of you guys wear lined geans? just wondering what the best brand is
10:50 AM Tom_L: carhartt
10:50 AM Tom_L: but no
10:50 AM Tom_L: not jeans
10:50 AM Tom_L: i have some coveralls for really cold jobs
10:51 AM Tom_L: don't recall the brand but those aren't carhartt
10:52 AM Tom_L: https://www.carhartt.com/product/104396-BRNLSHT
10:53 AM JT-Woodshop: I have a pair of carhartt insulated bib overalls that I wear
10:54 AM Bleepshop: roguish[m]: Old camos and longjohns here. I've got a carhartt jacket and some non-insulated Dickies coveralls for a cover layer.
10:55 AM JT-Woodshop: https://www.carhartt.com/product/104393/loose-fit-firm-duck-insulated-bib-overall---2-warmer-rating?colorCode=undefined_SW
10:55 AM JT-Woodshop: I wonder what I paid for mine 25 years ago
10:57 AM Bleepshop: roguish[m]: It's actualy funny because I'm also in 2 pairs of socks and a pair of river shoes. The same pair I shovel snow in. Drives the boss nuts that I'm either in sandals or these 95% of the time with my boots in the car if I really need them for snake protection.
10:58 AM roguish[m]: i'm getting to be such a wuuus about the cold, I'm thinking about a pair of geans. I have lots of jackets and stuff to the top.
11:02 AM roycroft: it doesn't get cold here often, and when it does i just stay indoors
11:03 AM Bleepshop: roguish[m]: Friday was these shoes, 2 pairs of thermal socks, Fruit of the Loom thermals, Mil-spec poly-pro thermals over them, camos over that, London Fog trenchcoat for a wind layer. 6F and the wind was still getting all the way to skin.
11:03 AM Tom_L: Bleepshop, are you pumpin any blood at all?
11:04 AM * Bleepshop will be so glad when Spring is here and his knees thaw out again.
11:05 AM roguish[m]: Bleepshop: where the frak are you? outer Siberia?
11:05 AM Bleepshop: Tom_L: Apparently there's still some of that pesky stuff polluting my caffeine and sugar stream. LOL
11:05 AM Bleepshop: roguish[m]: 7000ft up the side of a mountain in northern NM.
11:06 AM roguish[m]: ok. guess someone has to live there......
11:07 AM roycroft: the days are getting longer
11:07 AM roycroft: today we'll have 23 seconds more daylight than yesterday
11:07 AM * roycroft starts making plans for what to do with the extended day
11:07 AM Bleepshop: I have to go with the sandals so my feet will stay dry. Any interuption of the airflow around my feet and they start soaking my socks. \
11:14 AM Bleepshop: _unreal_: You're alive! You pinged out right after I got the falling iguana warning last night. ;D
11:14 AM Bleepshop: https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida/2022/12/23/iguanas-will-fall-trees-florida-cold-officials-say-leave-them-alone/
11:25 AM * roycroft would wear a hard hat if he were in florida right now
11:26 AM * roycroft would rather be in eugene, though, where it's warmer than in florida
11:28 AM * JT[m]1 uploaded an image: (309KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/zQYLvKkwPdWoHDeqLhUhaAUZ/20221226_112731.jpg >
11:32 AM roguish[m]: roycroft: sea level rise is going to take care of Florida.....
11:36 AM Tom_L: JT-Woodshop, is the one to the left for the bottom?
11:42 AM roycroft: it doesn't have to
11:49 AM Bleepshop: Now I just need to stiffen up the mount for the console arm so the controls aren't doing the Hula while I'm trying to type.
12:08 PM _unreal_: Bleepshop, ?
12:09 PM Bleepshop: _unreal_: Was that for the iguana survival or the keyboard and monitor doing the Hula?
12:11 PM Bleepshop: The profile section I have the arm hinged from has a lot of flex and needs a stiffener up the back side. https://imgur.com/a/6iGsfPi
01:38 PM JT-Cave: looks like a nice sized router table
01:42 PM Bleepshop: JT-Cave: It's a 48x48 but I can pass x 48x144 through the table. Actually lines up to be inches and not mm for the racks.
01:43 PM travis_farmer[m]: thats about the same size as my router table :-)
03:26 PM JT-Woodshop: snowing again here
03:32 PM roycroft: and the rain still has not started here
03:32 PM roycroft: yet now the forecast is for 33mm today
03:32 PM XXCoder: flood warning here
03:33 PM travis_farmer[m]: 27F and calm here ...
03:34 PM roycroft: well if we get all that rain starting this evening we could well have flooding here too
03:34 PM roycroft: but so far it's just a storm warning with a high wind advisory
03:35 PM XXCoder: roy btw I drove most of way to your place yeserday lol
03:35 PM XXCoder: milwaukie
03:36 PM roycroft: well, that's a bit more than half way
03:36 PM roycroft: but still a good drive
03:36 PM XXCoder: mostly was fine, portland rough roads killed my brain though, with constant vision shaking
03:37 PM roycroft: you could have taken the 205 bridge and avoided portland completely
03:37 PM XXCoder: yeah wish I did lol
03:37 PM roycroft: but those crappy roads are everywhere
03:37 PM roycroft: and i don't know why, but whenever it's snowy/icy portland streets form washboard ice
03:37 PM roycroft: even though nowhere else in the area does
03:37 PM roycroft: you can count on washboard ice in pdx
03:38 PM roycroft: maybe it has something to do with the way they plow/sand the roads
03:38 PM XXCoder: dunno too
03:39 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.additivemanufacturing.media/articles/pc-based-automation-supports-solid-state-metal-3d-printing-
03:45 PM zephyr9900: Friction stir welded 3D printing process. That sounds like I good idea. Maybe not to complicated too.
03:46 PM XXCoder: nixw
03:46 PM XXCoder: *nice
03:47 PM zephyr9900: Maybe even for making a rough part that is latter machined on critical surfaces like a casting
03:50 PM CaptHindsight[m]: parts are similar to forgings
03:51 PM * Loetmichel waits for the day when they convert an atomic force electron microscope into a 3dprinter
03:51 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaguF5K9I-Q
03:51 PM XXCoder: loet it'd have to be so much faster
03:52 PM Loetmichel: ... "tea, earl grey, hot"... "Acknowledged, wait a couple hundred years, please!"
03:52 PM XXCoder: even if it can place at near light speed it'd be forever to make something visible
03:52 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Loetmichel: already been done with several types of electron microscopes
03:52 PM Loetmichel: XXCoder : I KNOW :D
03:52 PM XXCoder: its olviously they have tricks we dont know yet to make tea so fast
03:52 PM Loetmichel: CaptHindsight[m]: sadly not for macroscopic prints.
03:52 PM Loetmichel: that was the point
03:53 PM CaptHindsight[m]: think of printing in planes vs points
03:53 PM Loetmichel: XXCoder: probably massive parallel processing with a few billion nucleus movers
03:53 PM CaptHindsight[m]: similar to LCD resin printer vs CNC glue gun
03:53 PM XXCoder: only billion
03:53 PM XXCoder: more likle billion billion
03:54 PM Loetmichel: yeah, german fallacy.
03:54 PM Loetmichel: german: million millarde billion billarde
03:54 PM XXCoder: small cup of water has more h20 particles than all sand in world
03:54 PM CaptHindsight[m]: whatever happened to the cnc glue gun challenge to print with multiple nozzles?
03:54 PM Loetmichel: english million billion
03:55 PM XXCoder: that said, I bet first forms of "replication" would work purely with elements.
03:55 PM XXCoder: which is great for many uses anyway
03:55 PM XXCoder: making steel which uses carbon and iron in arrangements is doable, even if part is extremely complex
03:56 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.jcnabity.com/
03:57 PM Loetmichel: XXCoder: if its steel it would probably better to simply make it monocrystal
03:57 PM Loetmichel: WAY more stable than carbon steel
03:57 PM Loetmichel: s/stable/hard
03:57 PM XXCoder: interesting
03:58 PM XXCoder: well depends on usercase needs anyway
03:58 PM Loetmichel: its the difference between graphite and diamond more or less
03:58 PM XXCoder: but yeah elements only replicatior would still have tons tons uses
03:59 PM XXCoder: I bet first structured replicator that can make stuff like h2o would be a huge revoluturary tech
03:59 PM CaptHindsight[m]: yeah but you'll have to make it interesting to research or you'll never get anyone to devote their time to it
04:00 PM XXCoder: or more likely: hackers or homebrew
04:01 PM CaptHindsight[m]: big business has no interest since they are busy manipulating people while controlling natural resources like water
04:02 PM CaptHindsight[m]: they don't want to make water
04:02 PM CaptHindsight[m]: they just control the fresh water supplies
04:02 PM XXCoder: hard to say what future would be like
04:02 PM XXCoder: i predict in least 100-300 years for elements type
04:03 PM XXCoder: elements to whole types unknownm
04:03 PM CaptHindsight[m]: before or after the water wars?
04:04 PM XXCoder: no idea, assuming we dont roast ourselves with heat first
04:06 PM roycroft: the difference between graphite and diamond is just how hard you push it
04:06 PM XXCoder: roy ultimately needs structure of binds
04:07 PM XXCoder: elements replicator probably wouldnt be able to make structures, just place atoms and hope they bind right way
04:09 PM * JT-Woodshop wonders why the dewalt miter saw has a stop at 31.62°
04:17 PM CaptHindsight[m]: the guy across the hall had his motorcycle idling out into the hall for the past 10 mnutes
04:17 PM CaptHindsight[m]: i should have just called the fire dept
04:18 PM CaptHindsight[m]: this is an industrial building
04:18 PM XXCoder: wasteful
04:18 PM XXCoder: and wearing
04:18 PM CaptHindsight[m]: not a condo/apts
04:18 PM CaptHindsight[m]: kill yourself in your own space, not ours
04:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: JT-Woodshop: https://www.lumberjocks.com/threads/whats-special-about-31-62-degrees.10090/
04:21 PM CaptHindsight[m]: also the angle of the sun at noon at stonehenge at xmas
04:21 PM CaptHindsight[m]: not really
04:24 PM JT-Woodshop: lol
04:43 PM * JT-Woodshop starts to wander back to the house
05:09 PM CaptHindsight[m]: in the additive manufacturing world is +- 0.001" good enough for most things, similar to machining?
05:10 PM CaptHindsight[m]: + - 25 microns for the metric peoples
05:10 PM CaptHindsight[m]: oh plus minus
05:10 PM XXCoder: dont think most of printing tols is that tight
05:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: guess you can't start a line with +-
05:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: how many people want to print Earl Grey tea vs how many for a Ferrari?
05:15 PM travis_farmer[m]: not that anybody cares... but i am signing off for the night...
05:15 PM CaptHindsight[m]: noted
05:15 PM CaptHindsight[m]: in the official LCNC logs
05:24 PM unterhaus: definitely in the semi-official lcnc logs
05:42 PM * JT-Cave calls it a day
06:01 PM * Bleepshop tries to work up the motivation to make horrible noises with a circular saw and a sheet of alu-clad.
06:20 PM * roycroft clamps his hands over his ears, even though he's 2000km away
06:28 PM XXCoder: ohh new andy video
06:34 PM XXCoder: using wax as protective layer for pewler interesting
06:36 PM XXCoder: andypugh: probvably better to use gun drill if you can get one at that small diameter,
06:37 PM andypugh: Would maybe still wander, and needs special equipment.
06:37 PM andypugh: Did the captions show up yet?
06:37 PM XXCoder: its full captions yeah
06:38 PM XXCoder: im at part where youre drilling
06:39 PM XXCoder: not perfect but definitely cool
06:42 PM XXCoder: wonder if you could "solder in" pewler into pits and smooth it
06:42 PM XXCoder: though probably risk of blowout
06:44 PM andypugh: I did do a few touch-up repairs.
06:44 PM XXCoder: nice
06:45 PM XXCoder: low temp metals casting was something I wanted to try lol
06:49 PM andypugh: The bullet casting pot makes things easier, but is not at all necessary.
06:49 PM XXCoder: cool :) I was thinking using cnc router to make wooden casts
06:49 PM XXCoder: nothing too complex
06:50 PM andypugh: But the lead melters are surprsingly cheap: https://www.onbuy.com/gb/lee-precision-production-pot-iv-upc-734307900090~c17925~p69437855/?exta=gshp&extac=gshppa&stat=eyJpcCI6IjE0MS4yMzAwIiwiZHAiOjAsImxpZCI6OTgxNDYxNjAsInMiOiI1IiwidCI6MTY3MTcwOTc4MiwiYm1jIjoiNy4wIn0=&lid=98146160&exta=gshp&gclid=CjwKCAiAqaWdBhAvEiwAGAQltsmdnoO5kNZQVIOaBrE2D0iyFK86E-zxdUxfIBUhYxhftSYVvKi9nhoC9WoQAvD_BwE
06:50 PM XXCoder: interesting
06:50 PM andypugh: But you will see that I added a proper PID controller to mine.
06:51 PM XXCoder: thats always good to have
06:54 PM andypugh: I can’t find one at a decent price now, but it is a 1/32 DIN sized one.
06:57 PM XXCoder: yeah if I ever get a shop to play in, i'd do some moreresearch
07:26 PM roycroft: the rain still isn't here yet, and now we're down to 25mm for the day in the forecast
07:28 PM XXCoder: maybe reploids from "V" is stealing that rain
07:28 PM XXCoder: dispete the flood warning we arent getting much rain here either
07:38 PM roycroft: we have a long history in eugene of severe weather dancing around us but rarely getting here
07:39 PM roycroft: windy.com shows very strong winds coming up the coast right now, with some of them onshore
07:39 PM roycroft: those winds are supposed to move inland overnight
07:40 PM XXCoder: oh boy
08:40 PM CaptHindsight[m]: which do you prefer? https://imgur.com/Ng3VPb3 vs https://imgur.com/RhCBjtd
08:47 PM _unreal_: ahhhh... um...... that one
08:52 PM roycroft: the first one, of course
08:52 PM roycroft: all the tools in the second pic are fuzzy
08:52 PM roycroft: i prefer tools with well-defined edges
09:00 PM XXCoder: first one. i arent got room for all that crap in second
09:18 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://i.imgur.com/UJxVsd1.jpeg made me laugh
09:19 PM XXCoder: yeah high position russians sem to be seciable to windows of taller buildings
09:29 PM roycroft: geez
09:29 PM roycroft: another substation in tacoma was sabotaged
09:29 PM XXCoder: third one?
09:29 PM roycroft: fourth
09:30 PM XXCoder: I bet news still call it vandalism
09:31 PM roycroft: it's domestic terrorism
09:31 PM XXCoder: yep
09:34 PM XXCoder: wll if I suddenly leave, its likely because someone destroyed substation im on
09:36 PM roycroft: two stubstations in oregon have been sabotaged in the last month as well
09:37 PM _unreal_: jesus its freaking cold
09:48 PM CaptHindsight[m]: would the Russians try to invade via Tacoma?
09:49 PM XXCoder: doubtful. they would look at rain and lack of snow and go home
09:58 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.stelzriede.com/ms/html/mshwfug4.htm 2nd story
10:00 PM XXCoder: boy wound it till it was short distance from exploding. whew
10:26 PM roycroft: the wind has arrived
10:27 PM XXCoder: according to google, 6 mph wind here. still raining
10:47 PM roycroft: it's getting rather blustery
10:47 PM roycroft: the wind is definitely picking up, and quite a bit
10:47 PM XXCoder: happy blustert day, roy
10:50 PM roycroft: 20km/h now, increasing to 40km/h overnight
10:51 PM Bleep-CNC|2: Hmmm I have an OpenGL error 1285 out of memory while trying to start linuxcnc
10:51 PM Bleep-CNC|2 is now known as Bleep-CNC
10:52 PM Bleep-CNC: Did I screw up in pncconf or is it something else?
10:57 PM Plaid1: Oooh, I'm starting to get my machine running. I ran some gcode for my old machine, something like 6k lines of gcode, without it erroring out
10:57 PM Plaid1: Spindle isn't on yet, but, this is step one
10:57 PM XXCoder: bleep dunno thats weird
11:00 PM Plaid1: Is there a pin that shows the total error of position vs commanded position?
11:00 PM Bleep-CNC: Plaid1: Are you using g-code generation software or are you hand writing it?
11:00 PM Plaid1: Bleep-CNC: Solidworks to generate it
11:01 PM Plaid1: It's gcode that I know is "correct" "complex" and just sitting there on my filesystem.
11:01 PM Bleep-CNC: Let's see... Solidworks, 6k of code, I'll bet you cut a circle. ;D
11:01 PM Bleep-CNC: Oh wait that's Aspire.LOL
11:02 PM Plaid1: It's 20 some odd parts, each with 20-100 operations. Mostly trivial milling operations, but still...
11:04 PM Plaid1: Not super optimized gcode, or anything. But this is a spot on example of what I want to run.
11:04 PM Bleep-CNC: Pretty sure I F'd up pncconf. I found the error that triggered the out of memory and it's TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not callable .
11:10 PM roycroft: my cat is getting kind of freaked out about the wind
11:13 PM Plaid1: Seems like my f-error is less than .2mm or so, not great, but not terrible for a cnc router.
11:20 PM Bleepshop: Plaid1: I dunno man. A whole fifth of a milimeter? LOL
11:22 PM Bleepshop: That's 0.007874015" and the tabs on your cnc joinery might be a tad sloppy. ;D
11:27 PM Bleepshop: Plaid1: Feel better now that you've read it or are you going to feel silly for a little bit longer about the same thickness as a sheet of paper?
11:28 PM XXCoder: .007"'d scrapped many of parts I had made at shop
11:29 PM Bleepshop: XXCoder: He's on a wood cutting router IIRC.
11:31 PM Bleepshop: And we're not talking thick paper like newsprint here, more like truck stop toilet paper. LOL
11:36 PM Bleepshop: If I start linuxcnc from the console it bombs out with errors. Tried starting it from a remote machine via ssh and it fired right up. Dafuq?
11:37 PM XXCoder: whats difference between 2?
11:37 PM XXCoder: not starting but in terms of other stuff
11:38 PM Bleepshop: Same machine. If I do it from the connected KB/Mouse/Monitor it barfs. Try it from this machine via ssh and it runs.
11:41 PM Bleepshop: Going to try rebooting it and see if that cures it.
11:42 PM XXCoder: Bleepshop: thats what I meant lol
