04:52 AM Tom_L: morning
04:53 AM pere: I've updated git and weblate with the latest string and document changes.
04:55 AM pere: <URL: https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/linuxcnc/#languages > show the great effort done so far to make LinuxCNC available also for non-english speakers. :)
05:15 AM JT-Cave is now known as jthornton

05:25 AM JT-Cave: making a bit of progress on ini4 but adding and deleting an axis is a bit of a coding challenge
10:30 AM Tom_L: https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/mississippi-river-s-low-water-levels-stalls-boat-traffic-stokes-economic-fears-151263301831
10:30 AM Tom_L: let it rain!
10:30 AM Tom_L: first it was ships backed up in the ports... now this
11:02 AM roycroft: it finally rained here
11:02 AM roycroft: but the sun is out right now
11:03 AM roycroft: there will be more rain this afternoon
01:09 PM c101horse8332[m]: guys, what could be the cause of a non functioning axis? i've tried different stepper divers, different steppers. that kinda stuff, for some reason my Y axis is not working
01:10 PM CloudEvil: What happens when you move working compoentns to that axis?#
01:10 PM CloudEvil: Or the broken components to the other axes
01:25 PM roycroft: swap components from another axis until it works
01:25 PM roycroft: i.e. connect the y axis driver to the x axis motor
01:26 PM roycroft: if that does not work, connect the x axis driver to the y axis
01:26 PM roycroft: work your way back to the bob
01:27 PM roycroft: don't forget to test your motor power supply as well
01:28 PM roycroft: you could also work the other way - swap x and y at the bob, and see if the problem follows the bob outputs
01:32 PM c101horse8332[m]: everythink works until i put the y axis signal on a different drivere, Y axis seems dead at the mesa
01:45 PM pere: What is the hard limit triggering "Can't jog joint 1 further past max hard limit."? I've raised both joint and axis MAX_LIMIT, but something must be left to adjust.
01:54 PM cradek: it's sitting on the limit switch
01:54 PM cradek: it will only let you jog the correct way (off of it)
02:24 PM * JT-Shop got the dreaded M1 Thumb today
02:46 PM pere: cradek: yeah. ever worse, it had destroyed the limit switch.
02:47 PM pere: apparently the limit switch was fraction of a millimeter too far out.
03:04 PM pere: disabled it to get the machine going again.
03:28 PM JT-Shop22: exhaust manifold to pipe nuts are off... two more bolts and the exhaust is off~
03:28 PM JT-Shop22: !
04:26 PM Tom_L: 85F
04:35 PM JT-Shop2: 76°F
04:40 PM Tom_L: how's the car project goin?
04:47 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
04:49 PM JT-Shop2: fixing to drop the last bit of the exhaust
05:20 PM JT-Shop2: all right the exhaust is out as well as the 36 bolts that hold the tunnel stiffener and it too are out
05:20 PM xxcodery: yay
05:20 PM JT-Shop2: nothing left to be in the way to drop the rear carrier then the differential then the back of the transmission
05:21 PM JT-Shop2: hmm M1 Thumb is feeling better
05:22 PM JT-Shop2: and I didn't have to use a nut splitter!
05:22 PM JT-Shop2: done pulling parts for the day...
06:02 PM * JT-Shop2 calls it a day
06:54 PM skunkworks[m]: Centroid has a new Acorn.. 6 axis. $1000 for the board $1000 for full 6 axis. (plus whatever else you need)
07:02 PM xxcodery: misread that as entire cnc machine for a min. impossible deal for 6 axis lol
07:02 PM xxcodery: controller board?
07:06 PM skunkworks[m]: yes
07:06 PM skunkworks[m]: just the board.
07:06 PM xxcodery: cool :)
07:06 PM xxcodery: reminds me
07:06 PM xxcodery: I wonder if MESA still is under bad shortage
07:09 PM thunder-gunner[m: I like the acorn boards. That's what I'm using in my 4 axis CNC build
07:10 PM thunder-gunner[m: Only thing I don't like is, after you purchase the board, you have to pay to upgrade their software so you can use files of more than xxx number of lines
07:11 PM skunkworks[m]: Sure - they are nice setups. one of the few hobby grade controllers that thread and rigid tap.
07:11 PM skunkworks[m]: I just wouldn't ever spend the money.
07:12 PM thunder-gunner[m: I likely won't on the next build
07:12 PM thunder-gunner[m: Just wanted this first one to be as simple and capable as possible
07:14 PM skunkworks[m]: If you are used to the centroid GUI - It might be a no brainer..
07:14 PM skunkworks[m]: we have 3 cnc machines at work all running centroid.. The guys seem to like them
