01:27 AM randy: morning
04:18 AM djsftree[m]: Good morning!
04:32 AM Tom_L: morning
05:11 AM JT-Cave: morning
07:42 AM perry_j1987: morning all
10:39 AM perry_j1987: hows it going
10:53 AM roycroft: i'm still printing boxes
10:53 AM roycroft: so the same old same old
10:54 AM roycroft: i'm almost done for now, though
11:23 AM perry_j1987: drawer organizer boxes?
11:24 AM perry_j1987: roycroft
11:24 AM roycroft: yes
11:24 AM perry_j1987: lot of custom or all the same pretty much?
11:25 AM perry_j1987: making a little silicone mold and resin cast them would be fun
11:25 AM roycroft: they're modular
11:25 AM roycroft: the base size is ~2"x2"
11:25 AM roycroft: i have some that are 2"x4", 2"x6", and 4"x4"
11:25 AM roycroft: so they all fit together nicely in the drawers
11:25 AM roycroft: they would be hard to cast
11:26 AM roycroft: there is a tab across the top for lifting and labeling
11:26 AM perry_j1987: there are castable designs i've seen on thingiverse in the past for this
11:26 AM roycroft: i should be finished with the boxes i need for the hardware that was in my wall cabinets by the end of today
11:26 AM roycroft: which is my primary goal
11:27 AM perry_j1987: once your done with your own needs you got molds and a cottage business afterwards to sell online haha
11:27 AM roycroft: that's only about 1/3 of the stuff, but i need to get the cabinets off the wall asap so i can install some lumber racks in their place
11:27 AM roycroft: i've actually thought about doing that, perry_j1987
11:27 AM roycroft: it seems nobody makes a good modular system of injected boxes like i'm printing
11:28 AM perry_j1987: if someone made a set that fit the harborfreight chests perfectly that'd prob go over well
11:28 AM roycroft: i found one outfit who make some boxes, but their sizing is all wacked
11:28 AM roycroft: they are not multiples of a base size, so it's impossible to nest a mix of boxes neatly in a drawer
11:29 AM roycroft: and as far as the tab across the top, that's a great and, imo, necessary feature, but the boxes could be designed as two pieces that snap together
11:29 AM roycroft: or are ultrasonically welded together or something like that
11:30 AM roycroft: i really don't want to get into the injection molding business, but i could probably do well if i did
11:33 AM perry_j1987: i'd love to build a small desktop injection machine some time
11:40 AM roycroft: i don't think i'd be able to make money with a desktop injection molding machine
11:40 AM roycroft: it would probably have to be more industrial sized to be profitable
12:32 PM perry_j1987: interenet is up and down out here today
12:42 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
12:42 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
01:00 PM CaptHindsight[m]: one way possibly is to make short runs of injection molds for protos that need better than cnc glue gun results
01:01 PM CaptHindsight[m]: resin printed molds, 10 - 20 parts kind of runs
01:01 PM * CloudEvil_ was earlier wondering about investment casting material for stainless steel.
01:01 PM CloudEvil_: I am aware it needs to get pretty warm
01:01 PM roycroft: if i were to pusue injection molding it would be to make tens of thousands of parts and more
01:01 PM roycroft: not a dozen or so
01:02 PM CaptHindsight[m]: if you make your own top projection resin printer you can print metal filled resin molds than can run 100's of parts
01:03 PM CloudEvil_: CaptHindsight[m]: Now I want to source tiny hollow stainless steel shapes in small mesh sizes.
01:05 PM CaptHindsight[m]: CloudEvil_: how small a mesh? are we talking 300-400 or?
01:05 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
01:05 PM CloudEvil_: CaptHindsight[m]: Certainly submilimeter, by probably a lot.
01:06 PM CaptHindsight[m]: roycroft: used injection molding machine should do it on the cheap, I was offered a couple the size of a bus for a few $k ea
01:06 PM roycroft: it's the size of a bus thing that's the issue
01:06 PM CloudEvil_: - idly wondering about metal filled resin with neutral bouyancy of the syntactic particles.
01:06 PM roycroft: and the cost to maintain and operate it
01:06 PM roycroft: not to mention the cost of tooling
01:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: CloudEvil_: why I mention top projection, since you can print paste
01:11 PM CloudEvil_: CaptHindsight[m]: yeah, I was then going on to wonder about a means where you could get away with not paste
01:12 PM CloudEvil_: paste is probably the most sensible option
01:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: several investments that can handle stainles
01:13 PM roycroft: but i think the real problem i'd have is the need to assemble the components and do some kind of joinery
01:13 PM roycroft: that would have to be automated to be profitable
01:13 PM roycroft: and that would be big bucks, i'm sure
01:13 PM CaptHindsight[m]: binderjet is another option if you can handle working with inkjet heads
01:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: SS powder, spread layer by layer , inkjet binder at each layer
01:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: then you sinter and burn out the resin binder
01:15 PM CaptHindsight[m]: high volume injection molds are printed similar
01:18 PM CaptHindsight[m]: CloudEvil_: "tiny hollow stainless steel" like hollow spheres?
01:18 PM CloudEvil_: Yes. Like the 3m glass microspheres.
01:18 PM * CloudEvil_ looks at his box of 3M glass microspheres.
01:18 PM CaptHindsight[m]: CloudEvil_: https://www.cospheric.com/stainless_steel_metal_microspheres.htm
01:19 PM CloudEvil_: Oh, neat!
01:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: unfortunately at nanoparticle prices :)
01:20 PM CloudEvil_: Oh, no. I mean hollow, those are solid.
01:22 PM CloudEvil_: https://www.3m.co.uk/3M/en_GB/p/c/advanced-materials/glass-bubbles/ these are also very very pretty under the microscope
01:26 PM CaptHindsight[m]: wear a mask when handling
01:27 PM CaptHindsight[m]: lungs just can't move some particles sizes out very well
01:31 PM CloudEvil_: Indeed.
01:32 PM CloudEvil_: Wearing a mask a whole lot more than people do is generally a good plan.
01:33 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I don't see any hollow SS spheres on the market, I thought that cospeheric had them
01:35 PM CaptHindsight[m]: looks like they had to be made
01:35 PM CloudEvil_: I have no idea how you'd make them, but then I haven't looked at how they make the glass ones.
01:36 PM CaptHindsight[m]: "were produced with dispersing molten steel stream by water jet."
01:36 PM CaptHindsight[m]: sounds safe
01:36 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40846-017-0252-2
01:37 PM CloudEvil_: neat
01:38 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/srin.200200176
01:41 PM CloudEvil_: High energy rapid processing is neat.
01:41 PM CaptHindsight[m]: vacuum metalized polymer spheres, if the polymer doesn't have an effect on your end application
01:41 PM CaptHindsight[m]: or glass
01:41 PM CaptHindsight[m]: IF you needed very thin SS
01:42 PM CloudEvil_: Would be easy to vacuum deposit in 0G
01:44 PM CaptHindsight[m]: if the seeds are glass or polymers mcrospheres I can also see using a solvent conductive ink used for a base coat and then electroplating
01:45 PM CaptHindsight[m]: let particles settle, plate, agitate, plate, a few times for 100% coverage
01:48 PM CaptHindsight[m]: ah but won't be able to plate SS onto something
01:48 PM CaptHindsight[m]: was thinking of pure iron
01:49 PM CaptHindsight[m]: maybe plasma spray of SS onto metal coated microspheres
02:04 PM roycroft: it's fairly straightforward to do nickel plating onto most metals
02:04 PM roycroft: and you get a decent amount of corrosion resistance there
02:05 PM roycroft: and nickel is more attractive than ss anyway
02:05 PM XXCoder: if I recall right, you can do it on almost anything by painting it with conductive paint first
02:05 PM XXCoder: including printed plastics
02:06 PM roycroft: nickel can't replace ss in every application, but it may be worth considering
02:06 PM unterhausen: one place I have worked with had most of their fixturing hard nickel plated, it's nice. I got one of their bench centers
02:06 PM CaptHindsight[m]: conductive for electroplating
02:07 PM * roycroft checks the news to see what our attorney general has to say
02:07 PM roycroft: it is turning out that this "raid" of a couple days ago is not at all how it's been characterized
02:08 PM roycroft: and that it was actually the second search warrant executed at mar-a-lago
02:08 PM unterhausen: I thought they were invited in the first time
02:08 PM XXCoder: https://youtu.be/Nx-GwKOH5qc
02:08 PM roycroft: they had a warrant for surveillance tapes
02:09 PM roycroft: basically everything you've heard from our former president is false
02:09 PM roycroft: like everything you've always heard from him
02:09 PM roycroft: the ag is making is remarks right now
02:10 PM roycroft: he has filed a montion to unseal the search warrant
02:11 PM unterhausen: disgraceland
02:12 PM roycroft: he's also asked for the property inventory list to be released
02:12 PM unterhausen: hiding documents in a beachside basement in florida makes him a damp yankee
02:12 PM roycroft: i do think the former president's bluff has been called
02:12 PM roycroft: and he's not used to that happening
02:13 PM roycroft: actually, he's used to that happening
02:13 PM roycroft: but he is also used to being able to ignore being called out
02:13 PM roycroft: this time not so much, i think
02:23 PM CaptHindsight[m]: it will be so much nicer to read about this in history books than to have lived it
02:24 PM roycroft: it would be
02:24 PM roycroft: unfortunately this will not be over until long after i am dead
02:24 PM CaptHindsight[m]: had they been competent things might be different now
02:24 PM XXCoder: ancient chinese curse, "may you live in interesting times"
02:25 PM roycroft: anyway
02:25 PM roycroft: i'm printing another batch of 3 boxes
02:25 PM roycroft: after that i have 1 more to go
02:25 PM roycroft: and then i'm done with the stuff that was on the wall
02:25 PM CaptHindsight[m]: everyone has forgotten Cheney/Bush already, even miss them now
02:25 PM roycroft: i've not forgotten them
02:25 PM CaptHindsight[m]: the public is stupid and has a short memory
02:26 PM roycroft: during the previous regime i would have welcomed them back in a heartbeat
02:26 PM roycroft: the public aren't all stupid
02:26 PM roycroft: many are just willfully ignornant assholes
02:27 PM roycroft: short memories though, i agree
02:27 PM CaptHindsight[m]: potato potato
02:27 PM roycroft: speaking of which, i just got a letter from the oregon secretary of state
02:27 PM roycroft: i forgot to renew my business registration
02:28 PM roycroft: fortunately i'm still within the grace period, and i just went online and did it
02:28 PM roycroft: but i'm usually really good about renewing it in early july
02:29 PM roycroft: so garland said he personally approved the mar-a-lago classified document recovery operation
02:29 PM roycroft: yesterday folks weren't sure it got ran all the way up to him
02:32 PM CaptHindsight[m]: it's frustrating that they guy isn't on trial yet, but at the same time we have never had to go this far with a pres or ex-pres
02:32 PM XXCoder: when one is former president you want extremely solid case
02:32 PM CaptHindsight[m]: then the trial should be slam dunk
02:33 PM XXCoder: you would think so
02:33 PM CaptHindsight[m]: and by their actions one can see who the real traitors are here, if that concerns you
02:37 PM roycroft: patience
02:37 PM roycroft: my prediction is still that there will be an indictment in georgia before a federal one
02:38 PM roycroft: and the georgia indictment may come before the mid-terms
02:38 PM roycroft: and i should think that with any case the prosecution would want it to be extremely solid
02:38 PM roycroft: being a former president should make no difference there
02:40 PM CaptHindsight[m]: if you need further proof that stupid is dangerous, then maybe you need work on your thinking cap
02:44 PM XXCoder: roy I agree, but then politics you want case is even more solid than usual
02:44 PM XXCoder: even if there is suffucent evidence, find more
02:45 PM XXCoder: find more links, so on
02:46 PM CaptHindsight[m]: well they are just getting through the first trials of Jan 6th, 2021
02:46 PM CaptHindsight[m]: pretty solid cases
02:47 PM CaptHindsight[m]: so maybe next year, once you charge you have a right to a speedy trial
02:48 PM CaptHindsight[m]: and it will be a nail biter with a few of his supporters on the jury
02:49 PM CaptHindsight[m]: meanwhile the artificial inflation will continue
02:49 PM perry_j1987: guess what i got
02:49 PM perry_j1987: my VFD
02:49 PM perry_j1987: heh
02:49 PM CaptHindsight[m]: \0/
02:50 PM perry_j1987: looks pretty nice quality
02:56 PM XXCoder: wed an thurs is looking to be lot. ugh
03:00 PM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
03:09 PM roycroft: i have some extrusions out for delivery
03:09 PM XXCoder: for cnc router?
03:09 PM roycroft: no, for a jig i'm building
03:10 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I still have some inline wheels
03:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: but too well worn, hockey player skates
03:11 PM XXCoder: I suppose but then I like those better as it needs zero smarts at all. it cannot go over its rated temperate in c. in this case, 220c
03:13 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Tumbler/Tumbler_base1.jpg
03:13 PM Tom_L: boxes full
03:15 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Tom_L: mcmmaster wants $30 and up for one
03:18 PM roycroft: a lot of the goodwill inline skates are pretty much brand new
03:19 PM roycroft: the only real drawback to getting them there is that you have to mingle with goodwill shoppers :)
03:19 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I need skateboard vs inline anyway
03:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: looks like skateboards are pretty well dead now
03:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: same for inline, not much at the stores
03:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: most is online
03:21 PM CaptHindsight[m]: if you try to flatten the out edge of the inline wheels parallel to the axis there isn't much left of the urethane
03:22 PM CaptHindsight[m]: solid core over molded in urethane
03:22 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I have turn the wheels down to size
03:26 PM perry_j1987: welp just chewed up that belt heh
03:27 PM perry_j1987: knew i had it slightly too tight
03:33 PM Tom_L: CaptHindsight[m], hockey inline are quite a bit smaller
03:33 PM Tom_L: i've got a pile of those too
03:33 PM Tom_L: 60-80mm?
03:33 PM Tom_L: i forget
03:35 PM Tom_L: the inline race team uses them once or twice and toss em
04:56 PM perry_j1987: well got the new vfd wired up
04:56 PM perry_j1987: looking into configuring it now
04:58 PM roycroft: don't let the blue smoke out!
05:15 PM perry_j1987: got it spinning the spindle
05:15 PM perry_j1987: been over a year since this lathe was running i think now
05:15 PM perry_j1987: now to get it switched over to 0-10v
05:31 PM perry_j1987: ugh its so hot today
05:31 PM XXCoder: I look "forward" to next wed-thurs
05:32 PM XXCoder: 90+f days bah
05:40 PM Tom_L: :/ filezilla connects to my ftp site right away but i can't seem to get winscp to connect
05:42 PM JT-Shop: what is winscp?
05:42 PM Tom_L: windows version of filezilla
05:42 PM JT-Shop: ah
05:42 PM Tom_L: i stuck a ssd on the router to mess with
05:42 PM Tom_L: usb
05:43 PM JT-Shop: I took half the Kubota apart to change some hydraulic hoses... got one done and decided it's too hot
05:44 PM JT-Shop: gotta fix a screw compressor tomorrow... won't take long just have to change the main contactor and overload
05:45 PM JT-Shop: we went to River Ridge Winery today for a ride and some chow
05:45 PM Tom_L: wanna see if you can see it?
05:45 PM Tom_L: no files there yet just 2 directories
05:45 PM JT-Shop: I can
05:46 PM Tom_L: pm
05:47 PM Tom_L: no port entered in filezilla
05:52 PM perry_j1987: who was it here that had durapulse gs10 vfd's from automation direct?
05:52 PM perry_j1987: im couple hours in and bit stuck on 0-10 configuration heh
06:03 PM perry_j1987: its spinning up with 0v on the analog input
06:03 PM perry_j1987: pretty sure i configured all the settings on the manual for 0-10 input
06:05 PM perry_j1987: ah got it
06:05 PM perry_j1987: hah i missed one button press
06:08 PM perry_j1987: now spindle encoder stopped outputting apparently
06:09 PM perry_j1987: hal meter shows it going but it stopped displaying on the panel odd
06:25 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
06:42 PM CaptHindsight[m]: $5ea for urethane wheels
06:43 PM XXCoder: wonder how cheap casting your own would be
06:43 PM CaptHindsight[m]: skate shop never had a customer come in with a digital durometer-meter
06:44 PM CaptHindsight[m]: XXCoder: few $$/Kg for urethane and up
06:44 PM XXCoder: interesting
06:45 PM CloudEvil_ is now known as CloudEvil
06:45 PM CaptHindsight[m]: price goes up as they get more elastic or tougher
06:46 PM CloudEvil: Wood wheels can work just fine
06:46 PM CloudEvil: Depending on what you're doing.
06:46 PM CloudEvil: Even just greased wood on steel axle.
06:47 PM CaptHindsight[m]: XXCoder: Isocyanates are used for curing so you have be aware of the heath risk
06:47 PM XXCoder: yeah dont think I will ever need to cast urethane
06:48 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I use them for encoder wheels
06:48 PM perry_j1987: this is so weird
06:48 PM perry_j1987: the computer i use to run this 9x20 lathe on wont fire up linuxcnc anymore
06:49 PM perry_j1987: its been sitting for a year wont let me take it out of estop mode
06:49 PM CaptHindsight[m]: check connections
06:49 PM perry_j1987: i plugged it into my other computer here and it all works
06:50 PM CaptHindsight[m]: in e-top circuit
06:50 PM CaptHindsight[m]: e-stop even
06:50 PM perry_j1987: ya whole lathe is working on the other tower
06:50 PM perry_j1987: thats a newer version
06:50 PM CaptHindsight[m]: maybe different Hal files?
06:50 PM perry_j1987: 2.8.2-11 on the newer tower
06:51 PM perry_j1987: 2.7-15 on the older one
06:52 PM perry_j1987: cant use the config from the newer tower on the older one
06:52 PM perry_j1987: complains about missing trivkins and such
06:57 PM roycroft: my extrusions have arrived
06:57 PM roycroft: the ones i ordered direct from 80/20
06:58 PM roycroft: the good: they are very straight, cut to the length that i specified, and are within 0.002" or so of each other in total length, and cut dead square
06:59 PM roycroft: the not so good: they dumped both extrusions together loose in the box without wrapping them, and then put some filler paper on the top of them
06:59 PM roycroft: they are fairly scratched up from rattling against each other while the postal service played football with the parcel
06:59 PM roycroft: um
06:59 PM roycroft: i mean ups
06:59 PM * roycroft forgot how they were transported for a moment
07:00 PM roycroft: they will suffice for my use, but i'd like if if they had protected them a bit
07:00 PM XXCoder: man
07:00 PM XXCoder: you'd expect that treatment from aliexpress
07:00 PM XXCoder: heck ones from aliexpress is usually pretty well protected
07:00 PM roycroft: i think i'll let them know that the experience was sub-optimal
07:08 PM roycroft: these are for a jig and they're going to get dinged up over time anyway
07:08 PM roycroft: but 80/20 had no way of knowing how they would be used when i ordered them
07:11 PM XXCoder: yep
07:11 PM XXCoder: they should treat it like it will be part of precision machine
07:14 PM roycroft: all they had to do was take the piece of paper that they wadded up and stuffed in the top of the box and wrap the extrusions in it - a single layer of paper between them would have sufficed
07:15 PM XXCoder: id go for two but indeed
07:15 PM Tom_L: not too precision... it's aluminum
07:16 PM Tom_L: cast iron has less thermal expansion
07:16 PM Tom_L: but yeah..
07:16 PM XXCoder: tom yeah
07:17 PM Tom_L: my kid's company is working on a huge part that has a temperature tolerance from start to finish +-3deg F
07:17 PM Tom_L: they're not even sure how they will unload the material from the semi
07:18 PM Tom_L: but are looking into submersible machining
07:18 PM XXCoder: so it must stay in that temperate in entire machining, then somehow haul it back to place in that temperate range?>
07:18 PM Tom_L: from start to finish
07:19 PM XXCoder: man I'd add step of letting it equalize in tank of water for a while first
07:19 PM XXCoder: also, I would add basically a pool pump so water or whatever is constantly circuited
07:19 PM XXCoder: with heat sink to control precise temperate of returning
07:20 PM Tom_L: they are looking into mods to the machine for submersible capability
07:20 PM Tom_L: one of the zimmermans
07:20 PM Tom_L: $$$$
07:21 PM XXCoder: insane
07:21 PM XXCoder: higher level than shop I worked at
07:21 PM Tom_L: very much so
07:21 PM Tom_L: the last shop couldn't do it
07:21 PM Tom_L: they're not sure they can either
07:21 PM XXCoder: HMM i might have added pump at endmill area
07:22 PM XXCoder: it blows liquid and other side it sucks up heated liquid
07:22 PM XXCoder: along with pool recircuiting design it might keep liquid extremely stable
07:31 PM Tom_L: it would be interesting to see the setup but it's restricted access
07:31 PM XXCoder: we can only imange
07:41 PM perry_j1987: this is excruciating lol
07:41 PM perry_j1987: installing a linuxcncsystem over wifi hotspot on phone inside a metal building with horrible signal lol
07:41 PM Tom_L: open the door
07:42 PM perry_j1987: dont want people peekin inside at all my tools lol
07:42 PM XXCoder: wire a attentato outside
07:42 PM XXCoder: man I cant spell that word
07:42 PM perry_j1987: lol
07:42 PM perry_j1987: attentato works well
07:43 PM XXCoder: antenna
07:43 PM Tom_L: attentato
07:43 PM Tom_L: [attenˈtato IPA Pronunciation Guide ]
07:43 PM Tom_L: masculine noun
07:43 PM Tom_L: (a libertà, onore) attack
07:43 PM Tom_L: (contro persona) assassination attempt
07:43 PM Tom_L: un attentato terroristico a terrorist attack
07:43 PM XXCoder: google does spellcheck a bit better
07:44 PM XXCoder: lol
07:44 PM perry_j1987: lol
07:48 PM roycroft: open the door and put a screen in front of it
07:48 PM XXCoder: replace sections of metal walls with radar-transparent wood
07:56 PM perry_j1987: im looking for a new shop space soon
08:19 PM roycroft: i am starting to consider that when my woodworking business ramps up, i may need to lease a larger shop and move the business out of my garage shop, or i may need to purchase a house with acreage outsid of town on which i can build a proper size shop
08:19 PM roycroft: i'm really trying to do too much in too small a space, and zoning regs won't let me build larger
08:20 PM roycroft: i do have the option of building up
08:20 PM roycroft: but i don't want my shop to be on an upper level
08:20 PM roycroft: i could make that work, but would rather not
08:20 PM roycroft: i'd leave the machinery downstairs and move the bench, small tools, storage, and finishing to the upper level
08:21 PM XXCoder: wish doctor who inside is bigger thing was real thing. would be amazing
08:21 PM roycroft: yeah, i would not mind hermione's wand
08:21 PM roycroft: or her travel bag
08:22 PM roycroft: she pulled that huge tent out of her travel bag when she and harry and ron were travelling
08:22 PM XXCoder: yeah
08:22 PM XXCoder: bag of holding
08:22 PM roycroft: but alas, i live in the real world, not the world of magic
08:23 PM roycroft: and i do not have those things available to me
08:23 PM roycroft: the real estate market should be cooling off a bit now that interest rates are going up
08:46 PM roycroft: wapo are reporting that some of the documents being searched for at mar-a-lago were related to nuclear weapons
08:47 PM XXCoder: yeah
08:47 PM XXCoder: I thought it was jan 6 thing
08:48 PM roycroft: if that turns out to be true, and if such documents were found, i do not know how anyone outside of russia could possibly still support him
08:49 PM jdh: it's a cult. they will support him regardless.
08:51 PM roycroft: this is so unfair to people my age
08:51 PM roycroft: i already had to live through watergate
08:51 PM roycroft: now it's watergate but 10x worse
08:52 PM roycroft: that kind of crap should only be imposed on people one per generation at most
08:52 PM XXCoder: man. days when watergate was big
08:52 PM Tom_L: forest gump exposed him
08:53 PM roycroft: hillary rodham
08:54 PM roycroft: started her career during watergate
08:54 PM roycroft: she was an attorney for the house republicans on the impeachment panel
08:54 PM Tom_L: then the guy that never had sex with his intern
09:00 PM roycroft: i was not a fan of president clinton
09:00 PM roycroft: i did not vote for him in 1992
09:01 PM roycroft: but i did not think he was a bad president until the day he went on national television, looked the american public in our collective eye, and blatently lied to us
09:02 PM roycroft: i did not and never will think it was an impeachable offense to had the improper relationship with an intern
09:02 PM roycroft: but i disliked him for that
09:02 PM XXCoder: honestly I prefer lying about blowjob is better than coup attempt
09:02 PM CaptHindsight[m]: stop trying to rationalize his supporters, it is not rational
09:02 PM roycroft: it's 100x better
09:03 PM roycroft: it makes him a horrible human being
09:03 PM roycroft: but not a horrible president
09:03 PM roycroft: an attempted insurrection makes one a horrible president as well as a horrible human being
09:06 PM roycroft: lying to the american people like clinton did also makes one a horrible president as well as a horrible human being
09:06 PM CaptHindsight[m]: todays drama is brought to by Speedcrunch https://heldercorreia.bitbucket.io/speedcrunch/
09:07 PM roycroft: "speedcrunch" sounds like some kind of exercise fad
09:07 PM roycroft: that software is useless
09:08 PM roycroft: a properly calculator does rpn
09:08 PM roycroft: otherwise it's overly cumbersome and shows no respect for the end user
09:08 PM XXCoder: or crunches while on speed
09:08 PM XXCoder: ill keep using my ti-84
09:09 PM * roycroft will keep using his hp 11c/32si/48g+, depending on where he is
09:09 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://heldercorreia.bitbucket.io/speedcrunch/
09:10 PM XXCoder: my usage also depends on location. if im at my desk ill use my ti-84. if im at box in my room with my machinist tools, ill use ti-84
09:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.meta-calculator.com/
09:12 PM roycroft: i can muddle through things with an algabraic calculator, but it's really annoying
09:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: ti-84 doesn't have Planks Constant built in :(
09:12 PM XXCoder: I have had one since 2003, second one was because I had that ti-84 at work and I missed having one at desk lol so bought second at 2016 something
09:12 PM roycroft: if you use a ti calculator you must also like coding in lisp
09:13 PM XXCoder: that was fun language lol
09:13 PM CaptHindsight[m]: oh so you can get a handicap plate
09:13 PM XXCoder: didnt use it much though, only for college
09:15 PM roycroft: it would be interesting if inciting suicide by cop were made a federal crime
09:15 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.calculatorsoup.com/
09:15 PM XXCoder: can arrest for attempts to
09:15 PM XXCoder: successful.. well not so much
09:16 PM CaptHindsight[m]: still waiting for people to get charged who were on Epstiens Island
09:16 PM roycroft: not suicide by cop per se
09:16 PM roycroft: but inciting suicide by cop
09:17 PM roycroft: #45 could be charged with that regarding the wingnut who tried to shoot his way into an fbi office today
09:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: heh, but her emails
09:20 PM XXCoder: indeed
09:21 PM Tom_L: drifting a bit off track here...
09:22 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Hunter Bidens laptop!
09:22 PM CaptHindsight[m]: I have been enjoying the false equivalencies
09:27 PM roycroft: screw hunter's laptop
09:27 PM roycroft: but her emails!
09:27 PM roycroft: that's all that matters
09:56 PM * roycroft is printing the penultimate box that will clear the wall fastener cabinets
10:05 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/temp/windturbine.jpg
10:05 PM Tom_L: lightening hit
10:12 PM Rab: Not sure I'd want to eat the crops from around all that burning composite.
10:41 PM bjorkintosh: damn. that's rough.
11:08 PM XXCoder: man I hate my life nowdays
11:09 PM XXCoder: removed blackberry vines and its hell on me
11:11 PM XXCoder: 1 hour work feels like 20
11:24 PM roycroft: i have a small section of blackberries to eeal with
11:24 PM roycroft: but mostly they haven't grown back since last year when i spent all that time removing them
11:25 PM XXCoder: it sure grew back here
11:25 PM XXCoder: we have HUGE roots
11:26 PM roycroft: i've been pretty aggressively mowing them
11:26 PM roycroft: that's what does it
11:26 PM XXCoder: and well being heavily dizzy and weak while trying to prune, i feel horrible now
11:26 PM roycroft: it takes time, but it does work
11:26 PM XXCoder: yeah those areas isnt mowable, but there was much larger area I mowed under
11:59 PM XXCoder: roycroft: new this old tony!
11:59 PM XXCoder: been quite a while.
