03:40 PM JT-Shop: extruder is installed and bowden tube kit showed up today
03:52 PM CaptHindsight[m]: the only things that show up on time for me are Fedex ground
03:52 PM CaptHindsight[m]: amamamzon is always a day late
03:52 PM CaptHindsight[m]: USPS takes an extra 2-3 days
03:52 PM CaptHindsight[m]: UPS 1 day late
03:53 PM XXCoder: me, everything is on time. except fedex who knows with fedex.
03:55 PM roycroft: fedex are working today
03:55 PM JT-Shop: roycroft, where did I order that volcano hot end from?
03:56 PM roycroft: they delivered my cad workstation display before lunch
03:56 PM roycroft: filistruder.com, probably
03:56 PM XXCoder: you dont have emails trash bin?
03:56 PM JT-Shop: yep that's it
03:56 PM roycroft: er, filastruder.com
03:56 PM XXCoder: most clients have that
03:56 PM roycroft: trash bins can be emptied
03:56 PM XXCoder: roy kinda olvious, but did he?
03:56 PM Tom_L: finally
03:57 PM roycroft: some of my accounts i set to delete trash immediately
03:57 PM JT-Shop: I just needed the name to search with
03:58 PM roycroft: i forgot where i got mine too
03:58 PM JT-Shop: ok extruder due tomorrow
03:58 PM roycroft: when i had to go back to order more parts i ended up searching through my paypal transactions to find the place
03:58 PM roycroft: and the name on the paypal charge was not related to the name i ordered from
03:59 PM roycroft: i had created a folder for filastruder.com, but since i'd forgotten the name i couldn't find the folder
04:00 PM JT-Shop: I try and add them to a bookmark folder like 3-D Printing
04:03 PM JT-Shop: just to increase my odds I put my pla in a sealed bucket with 1 pound of desiccant in the bottom
04:05 PM roycroft: if you go to a thrift ship and get a food dehydrator for cheap you can remove all but one of the trays, cut the inside of the rest of the trays out so you just have the spacer rings remaining, stack them back on the dehydrator, and you have a perfect filament dryer
04:05 PM roycroft: a spool fits inside one very nicely
04:06 PM JT-Shop: I have a pretty big food dehydrator but I'm not cutting the trays...
04:07 PM CaptHindsight[m]: are doors the new thing that people don't know to use? Who knocks like it's a drum set and then walks away
04:07 PM JT-Shop: how long and at what temp to dry pla?
04:07 PM roycroft: that's why you buy one from the thrift store to dedicate to drying filament
04:07 PM roycroft: pla 45c for 4-6 hours
04:07 PM JT-Shop: CaptHindsight[m], dumb asses
04:07 PM CaptHindsight[m]: do people expect a door to be answered withing 20 seconds or something now?
04:07 PM CaptHindsight[m]: s/withing/within/
04:08 PM Loetmichel: CaptainHindsight: delivery drivers: 5 seconds tops
04:08 PM XXCoder: or maybe its old trick of knock and run
04:08 PM roycroft: i think i'm still considered people
04:08 PM CaptHindsight[m]: not a delivery
04:08 PM roycroft: and i know i'm not going to answer the door in 20 seconds, so i don't expect anyone else to
04:09 PM JT-Shop: delivery drivers don't knock here they just put the package anywhere
04:09 PM CaptHindsight[m]: one step from yanking on the door and walking away
04:10 PM CaptHindsight[m]: If i spent my day waiting for you I would have intercepted you many feet from the door
04:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: deliveries knock after reading the sign that says leave packages in the corner out of the rain
04:11 PM JT-Shop: my wife thought she was going to be late for her doctor appointment in Cape Girardeau which is 1h 45m away... turns out she was a bit early... a week early!
04:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: much improvement from reading and then leaving it in the rain
04:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: hah
04:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: i was once a month early for a return flight
04:12 PM JT-Shop: roycroft, got a photo of your drier setup?
04:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: made a mistake when booking
04:12 PM roycroft: did you go all tom hanks for the month?
04:13 PM roycroft: i can go take one
04:13 PM JT-Shop: thanks
04:13 PM roycroft: i'm waiting for a backup to finsh, so i have a moment
04:13 PM CaptHindsight[m]: roycroft: was NYC Laguardia, took the next flight out
04:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: only had 3 CC's hacked that trip
04:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: the only thing in common was a Hyatt
04:15 PM XXCoder: jt keep in mind that some diseccant machine is bit too hot for pla
04:15 PM roycroft: mine has adjustable heat
04:16 PM XXCoder: in that case, set airflow to be slightly higher to keep temp down, or use PID temperate control plug
04:16 PM CaptHindsight[m]: store your filament in your rice drawer
04:16 PM JT-Shop: I have some little pid temp controllers
04:17 PM JT-Shop: I use them for my proofing box and germination bed
04:17 PM XXCoder: nice
04:18 PM roycroft: so it looks like i only needed two of the spacer rings
04:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.homedepot.com/p/LEM-Mighty-Bite-10-Tray-Black-Food-Dehydrator-with-Temperature-Control-1153/301321245
04:21 PM roycroft: https://roycroft.us/FilamentDryer/
04:21 PM JT-Shop: nice a Lem
04:22 PM roycroft: i think that cost me $10
04:22 PM JT-Shop: thanks
04:22 PM XXCoder: i have sunlu s1
04:22 PM XXCoder: it pretty much sucks
04:22 PM XXCoder: need mod to add fan so it actually works better
04:22 PM roycroft: mine has a fan
04:23 PM roycroft: what it does not have is an on-off switch
04:23 PM JT-Shop: roycroft, I see what your talking about you cut the center out and use the outside as spacers
04:23 PM roycroft: i have to plug it in and unplug it whenever i used it
04:23 PM roycroft: yes
04:23 PM roycroft: a quick and easy mod
04:23 PM roycroft: i can't speak for other brands, but filament spools fit perfectly in a nesco
04:24 PM JT-Shop: do you dry before using or only if you're having issues?
04:24 PM roycroft: and just about every thrift shop in the country has a nesco
04:24 PM XXCoder: jt theorically you should alway dry rolls once in very least
04:24 PM XXCoder: once a while company sends you wet roll
04:24 PM roycroft: during the winter (our humid season, normally), i'll dry it before resealing it if it's been out aond on the printer for a while
04:24 PM XXCoder: pracal, meh
04:25 PM CaptHindsight[m]: or from any supplier in Florida
04:25 PM JT-Shop: that makes sense
04:25 PM XXCoder: can dry only when stringy
04:25 PM roycroft: i have a chamber vacuum sealer, so whenever i store a spool i reseal it in a big bag, just like it came
04:25 PM roycroft: my usual protocol is to remove from the printer, dry for a few yours, then vacuum seal and store
04:25 PM JT-Shop: time to make some chicken crack and check on the sick one
04:25 PM roycroft: i don't like having to pull a spool out and find out i have to dry it for a few hours before i can use it
04:26 PM roycroft: if you store yours with dessicant packs, you can dry them out in the filament dryer as well
04:27 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://imgur.com/gallery/rinw8UM Chickens calls
04:29 PM XXCoder: lol
04:32 PM roycroft: what? did someone call for super chicken?
04:32 PM roycroft: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKss2pBYQ6Y
04:32 PM roycroft: some of us old people will remember that
04:34 PM XXCoder: im sure I watched some as a kid, though likely as reruns
04:36 PM CaptHindsight[m]: roycroft: i see your Superchicken and raise you a Fog Horn Leg Horn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7a4N2fRhPY
04:37 PM XXCoder: needs to calbrate film projector I see bunch of issues lol
04:37 PM JT-Shop: https://treatsforchickens.com/products/chicken-crack
04:38 PM CaptHindsight[m]: i adopt his accent and manner of speech when down south
04:40 PM JT-Shop: I like the one where the brainy little chicken with glasses and a calculator
04:50 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
04:50 PM JT-Shop: tomorrow afternoon I can just set the pla outside for 4 hours in the afternoon
04:50 PM Tom_L: crack is illegal!
04:50 PM Tom_L: it makes em go nuts
04:50 PM JT-Shop: they are nuts!
04:50 PM JT-Shop: my daughter sent them a bag for xmas so I started making it after the bag ran out
04:57 PM roycroft: really, go shop at the thrift stores
04:58 PM roycroft: those nescos are ubiquitous
04:58 PM roycroft: except starting in august, when it's harvest season
04:58 PM roycroft: then they will disappear until october or so
04:58 PM JT-Shop: I have to pass buy one tomorrow, I'll check
05:00 PM roycroft: i'd pick one up for you here, but it would cost more to ship than what i'd pay for it
05:00 PM JT-Shop: yup
05:00 PM roycroft: $15 for the dehydrator and $25 for shipping
05:00 PM JT-Shop: we have 4 huge flea stores all next to each other, it will be a treat for my wife to go look for one
05:02 PM roycroft: yeah, i find exploring thrift stores to be fun and relaxing, most of the time
05:02 PM * JT-Shop searches for the sign up form for joomla
05:06 PM JT-Shop: hmm it appears to be part of community builder
05:09 PM * roycroft should get back to installing drawer fronts, now that work is over
05:16 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Goodwill should bottle the scent of their stores
05:16 PM CaptHindsight[m]: musty incense
05:42 PM roycroft: it smells better than the china scent that is exported with every item from there that is made of or packaged in petrochemical derivatives
05:43 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Chinese shipping cologne
05:43 PM CaptHindsight[m]: for gooder luck
05:43 PM JT-Shop: roycroft, do you know where the new user registration is in joomla, community builder?
05:44 PM roycroft: i don't, offhand - i haven't managed a joomla site in years
05:45 PM JT-Shop: ok, I've been searching for a few hours
05:46 PM JT-Shop: and lucky you
05:49 PM travis_farmer853: i prefer XenForo forums, myself...
05:51 PM JT-Shop: sometimes you gotta use what you got
05:51 PM Tom_L: https://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=884811
05:51 PM Tom_L: dunno if that helps..
05:55 PM Tom_L: https://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=238510
