12:56 AM MrSunshine: where is jt located? amerurica?
12:56 AM XXCoder: yes. east of me
12:57 AM MrSunshine: so anything between 18:00 and 02:00 there now then :P

12:57 AM XXCoder: or maybe more east not too sure. my memory sucks
01:01 AM roycroft: he's in central time
01:02 AM XXCoder: ok remembered right then
01:08 AM roycroft: i'm officially tired of the return of winter
01:09 AM roycroft: and it's not going to warm up again until sunday
01:09 AM XXCoder: aw

01:27 AM randy: morning
01:35 AM XXCoder: yo
02:15 AM Deejay: moin
04:14 AM MrSunshine: hmm lets see here, there is no base thread when using mesa cards ?
04:49 AM Tom_itx: morning
05:00 AM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
05:21 AM JT-Cave: morning
06:15 AM t4nk_freenode: hi there
07:58 AM JT-Cave: MrSunshine, you should be able to make a working configuration for the 5 axis bob and 7i92 now
08:00 AM MrSunshine: is it the mesact tool ? =)
08:09 AM JT-Cave: yes, just pushed a fresh deb
08:16 AM MrSunshine: JT-Cave, crashes when i select the daughtercards =)
08:23 AM MrSunshine: JT-Cave, ive pmed you .. hope that was ok =)
09:18 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
09:18 AM * JT-Cave will be out for a while
10:42 AM MrSunshine: JT-Shop, you are not so much for defensive programming are you ? =) everything crashes in the mesact .. tried to plug in my values for the stepper drivers etc then blam .. some new error that crashes everything and leaves me to start from the beginning again =)
10:49 AM MrSunshine: ok, seem to be something not cleaned up totaly .. as even tho using a step card i got the error in a servo section, been clicking around selecting configs etc here and there before i tried to configure, now i could build a config with 1 axis atleast =)
10:51 AM MrSunshine: but still no stepgens etc generated for the config like the screenshot i shot you before =)
10:51 AM MrSunshine: and no pwmgens
11:03 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
11:05 AM MrSunshine: JT-Cave, dont know if you see what ive written .. tho to JT-Shop but else check the log =) having big issues with the config tool as it crashes at every turn =)
11:10 AM JT-Cave: pm the error one at a time
11:13 AM * JT-Cave just got back home and is on his lunch minute
11:47 AM mrec: Tom_L: I have connected the driver to the 750w bldc motor the motor is spinning, I'll try to wire it up with linuxcnc within the next days
01:17 PM Tom_L: nice
03:00 PM roycroft: so home depot are selling 2'x4'3/4" mdf panels for $58.99, and 4'x8'x3/4" mdf panels for $59.98
03:00 PM roycroft: saw cuts are getting really expensive these day
03:05 PM MrSunshine: 1 sheet of 3/4" mdf in sweden is about 84$ now
03:05 PM roycroft: what i really want for this project is baltic birch plywood
03:05 PM roycroft: but i don't even dare check on the price of that
03:06 PM MrSunshine: recently ordered wood for 8400$ :P
03:06 PM roycroft: last time i checked it was $160 for a 1525x1525x18 sheet
03:07 PM MrSunshine: yeah the birch plywood is sick now, the orde ri did this year is double what the same material cost last time i rodered
03:07 PM roycroft: most of it is produced in the baltic states, but my understanding is that muc of the timber that is used is grown in russia
03:07 PM satiowadahc[m]: Friend was excited he got (10) 2x4x8 for 24$/board
03:08 PM roycroft: and the war has really screwed that supply chain up
03:08 PM MrSunshine: roycroft, yeap .. almost all the material we use comes from russia :/ comes from finaldn and latvia but they buy the birch from russia
03:09 PM roycroft: this particular project can be made with mdf, but i'd still prefer baltic birch plywood
03:10 PM roycroft: and we just had a sleet storm
03:10 PM roycroft: and snow is back in the forecast for thursday
03:10 PM roycroft: we might even dip below freezing wednesday night
03:10 PM roycroft: in the middle of april?!
03:17 PM unterhaus: wow, that's horrible weather
03:17 PM unterhaus: I would cry
03:17 PM roycroft: yeah, i'm not at all impressed
03:17 PM unterhaus: doesn't look like that's going to be hitting us, thankfully
03:21 PM roguish[m]: roycroft: how much rain have you had this year? we're all the way up to 1.5 inches
03:22 PM roycroft: way more than that
03:23 PM roycroft: we've had more than that in a day several times this year
03:23 PM roycroft: hmm
03:23 PM roycroft: 1/4" melamine is more expensive than 3/4" melamine at home depot
03:23 PM roguish[m]: yeah, we're pretty screwed down here.
03:24 PM roycroft: it's a kind of normal year for precipitation here, so far
03:24 PM roycroft: but it's been unseasonably warm for the most part, so we are still way short on our snow pack
03:24 PM roycroft: which means another water shortage summer
03:25 PM roguish[m]: we barely have any snowpack
03:48 PM JT-Shop: roycroft, https://www.onefinitycnc.com/https://www.onefinitycnc.com/
03:50 PM roycroft: those look interesting, jt-shop
03:50 PM roycroft: the sizes are pretty odd, though, and would not work for me
03:51 PM JT-Shop: I mainly wanted to show you the design
03:51 PM roycroft: yeah, it's a neat design
03:52 PM roycroft: i'm having trouble making up my mind on some of the design details of my router
03:52 PM roycroft: i've actually walked away from it againg for a bit while i have a rethink on it
03:53 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://streamable.com/zogzc9 at ~ 7 sec it starts to sing
03:53 PM roycroft: i'm finishing up the design for my hardware storage/tool storage cabinets in the meantime
03:53 PM CaptHindsight[m]: supposedly a 3 phase induction motor and NO VFD
03:53 PM roguish[m]: https://buildbotics.com/
03:53 PM roycroft: but if i could come up with a quick and easy way to mount something like that router on top of my router table that would be ideal
03:56 PM Tom_L: windy as heck here today
03:56 PM Tom_L: severe storms later so they say
03:57 PM roycroft: i'm thoroughly unimpressed with the weather this week
03:58 PM Tom_L: i was quite impressed/amazed at a day a couple weeks ago when we got snow in the morning and 65F in the afternoon
04:04 PM XXCoder: nice cold windy day here
04:04 PM XXCoder: worked at yard for over a hour. cold was nice
04:05 PM Tom_L: sprinkler work i did yesterday made a huge improvement
04:05 PM Tom_L: things deteriorate over time and you don't really notice
04:06 PM XXCoder: nice. yeah blackberry vines was trying to return here lol
04:06 PM XXCoder: sadly i did most of it before tool broke. gonna go to store buy replacement
04:06 PM XXCoder: sucks I can barley work a hour before brain is too tired
04:12 PM XXCoder: gottfried just died
04:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Gilbert?
04:14 PM XXCoder: yah
04:50 PM _unreal_: holy hell gottfried died
04:52 PM roycroft: yeah, he'd been really sick for a while
04:54 PM _unreal_: I feel bad for his kids 14 and 12yo
05:00 PM XXCoder: roycroft: very heavy snow here
05:00 PM roycroft: bummer
05:00 PM _unreal_: very heavy sun shine here
05:00 PM roycroft: i should not feel bad about a little sleet for a few minutes here
05:00 PM XXCoder: none of snow is suriving lol
05:00 PM XXCoder: land is simply too warm
05:05 PM XXCoder: snows getting bigger lol
05:05 PM XXCoder: golf balls falling
05:05 PM JT-Cave: pcw--home, on a 7i92 5abob firmware is Pin# the physical pin in the db25 connector and is I/O the GPIO number?
07:56 PM mrec: Tom_L: did you add an encoder to the motor shaft directly or to the spindle only?
07:56 PM mrec: I might have the problem that the belt might slip through
07:57 PM mrec: I feel like my 24V/100w motor has a higher torque at lower speed than that 310V/750w bldc motor
08:00 PM Tom_L: spindle
08:01 PM Tom_L: i used a timing belt
08:01 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Spindle/Encoder1.jpg
08:02 PM Tom_L: you add the linuxcnc pid in and it helps the bottom end quite a bit
08:07 PM Tom_L: you'll be lucky to get it lower than 100rpm though and i don't use it for anything practical below 400
08:23 PM roycroft: now that sleety stuff is happening again
08:23 PM * roycroft is thoroughly unimpressed with nature this week
08:23 PM * roycroft blames canada, since that's where the storm came from
08:24 PM djdelorie: they don't come from Amazon, like everything else?
08:32 PM Tom_L: not unless it's overnite
09:00 PM XXCoder: roycroft: fun
09:00 PM XXCoder: it snowed again when I went to fm and back. sleet and dint last long
09:24 PM roycroft: the sun is shining now
