12:16 AM Bleepshop: I really need to figure out the whole 'relative dimensions' shtick. I've got a pair of walls that would be really nice if I could shove them out ~50meters
12:16 AM XXCoder: maybe that fellow can fix your issue
12:16 AM XXCoder: he calls himself doctor, though he never said his name
12:20 AM Bleepshop: XXCoder: Got it all from 1964 - 2018 as part of a drive full of BBC content I've collected over the years.
12:22 AM XXCoder: nice. you dont have tapes of missing expodes lol
12:23 AM XXCoder: *?
12:23 AM XXCoder: bbc will give you full size dalek if you have one
12:31 AM Bleepshop: Nope, But I'm pretty sure some of my collection was used in 2001-2002 to rebuild what the online archives as I started digitizing broadcast TV at 480p and VHS in late 1999.
12:32 AM XXCoder: cool :)
12:32 AM XXCoder: I wish I have time viewer, so I can record those missing ones
12:32 AM XXCoder: theres recreation on youtube of missing ones
12:32 AM XXCoder: some using actual voices from recording
12:32 AM XXCoder: some is entirely recreated unfortunately
12:33 AM Bleepshop: XXCoder: Warp drive, Big antenna. Warp out to where the signals are and record them there. :D
12:34 AM Bleepshop: Doesn't even need a pilot. Robot probe could handle all the work and return when it's done.
12:36 AM XXCoder: definitely need warp, shows recorded in 1960 would be 62 LY out
12:37 AM Bleepshop: 64 for broadcast Dr Who.
12:37 AM Bleepshop: 1964 that is
12:37 AM XXCoder: oh good thought you meant 1864 ;)
12:37 AM Bleepshop: It's as old as I am. LOL
12:39 AM perry_j1987: working on setting up my first gang tool paths
12:39 AM perry_j1987: trying to figure this out in fusion
12:50 AM perry_j1987: just copied all the tools to a new library and set them up as turret 103
12:50 AM perry_j1987: it says to do that for gang tools on the -X side
01:07 AM Bleepshop: What a freaking hilarious thought. I was thinking about mounting a pico-projector on the ceiling pointed down at the table to project an image of the cuts to be done.
01:10 AM Bleepshop: But then I had the thought that using a framebuffer with lcnc feeding the coordinates back to the displayed window position I could mount the projector directly on the Z and cover 100% of the table as it scans instead of ~40%.
01:11 AM XXCoder: wy limit to one?
01:11 AM XXCoder: have 3 projectors
01:14 AM Bleepshop: Uhh.. I've got a grand total of 2.5" of Z clearance at the moment. I need to replace the gantry crossbar support plates with a new pair that are cut to be 6" taller for 8" of clearance + 0.5" safety space.
01:14 AM XXCoder: with proper mapping you can essentally place em anywhere. on ceiling for example
01:16 AM Bleepshop: Yeah, that was the original plan but then I got to thinking about how xmagnify works and things just kind of gelled.
01:55 AM Loetmichel: mornin'. Hmm, co-worker has a point. that maxi-van "upgrade" i got from the car rental because they had no "small car" in stock... what would one do that had no parking space for such a large vehicle? walk half an hour home in the evening? ;)
02:08 AM pere: wow, german has passed italian on <URL: https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/linuxcnc/#languages >. Look like it will be the first complete translation of linuxcnc. :)
02:09 AM Loetmichel: pere: ... not that most germans would need the translation.
02:10 AM pere: Loetmichel: yeah, it is more a question of working to make ones own language stronger or not.
04:25 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
05:07 AM Tom_L: morning
05:07 AM Tom_L: 21°F low 7°F
05:07 AM Tom_L: snowing sideways
08:13 AM unterhausen: Loetmichel you're lucky the German car rental places haven't taken a cue from their American counterparts. They sold all their cars and didn't buy new ones and have turned into full-fledged scammers
08:14 AM t4nk_freenode: so I installed that pi last time around, put it away for a bit... start it up yesterday
08:15 AM t4nk_freenode: no network
08:15 AM t4nk_freenode: no eth0, for the life of me
08:15 AM t4nk_freenode: don't know how that can happen just like that
08:16 AM t4nk_freenode: I had some kernel on there for linuxcnc
08:17 AM t4nk_freenode: can't even remember where I got that
08:32 AM t4nk_freenode: what would be a suitable kernel to install at the moment? 4.19.105?
09:19 AM t4nk_freenode: euh, well the one I have is some pre-compiled on I got somewhere
09:20 AM t4nk_freenode: 5.4.83
09:21 AM Tom_L: http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/dists/buster/2.8-rtpreempt/binary-armhf/
09:22 AM Tom_L: http://linuxcnc.org/downloads/
09:36 AM t4nk_freenode: mmm yeah, but there's no rpi kernels there
09:37 AM t4nk_freenode: I have an existing installation
09:37 AM t4nk_freenode: it ran
09:37 AM t4nk_freenode: euh, I guess it still runs
09:37 AM t4nk_freenode: wlan0 stil sort of works, and lets me connect to my phone for internet
09:38 AM t4nk_freenode: heh, but after I let the pi sit for a few months, and reconnected it... there's no eth0 to be found
09:41 AM Tom_L: the iso is a ready to go install
09:41 AM Tom_L: but has an older lcnc on it
09:41 AM Tom_L: you can upgrade that with the debs
09:41 AM Tom_L: then you can do regular updates i believe
09:42 AM Tom_L: pretty sure that's what i did
09:42 AM t4nk_freenode: on your pi?
09:42 AM Tom_L: yeah
09:42 AM Tom_L: buster
09:42 AM Tom_L: lcnc 2.8.2
09:42 AM Tom_L: iirc
09:42 AM t4nk_freenode: yeah, mine has buster too
09:42 AM t4nk_freenode: and linuxcnc is installed
09:42 AM t4nk_freenode: I used it with the stm32
09:43 AM t4nk_freenode: it will still work
09:43 AM t4nk_freenode: I guess I will have to compile a kernel myself
09:43 AM t4nk_freenode: hoping that it corrects my eth0 connectivity
09:45 AM t4nk_freenode: I see that it has pre 2.9.0 something installed when I run axis
09:48 AM Tom_L: master branch
09:48 AM t4nk_freenode: strange thing is that nothing really happened
09:48 AM Tom_L: no reason to run that really
09:49 AM t4nk_freenode: it was running fine, I could just put the pi somewhere, power it on and log in through tigervnc
09:49 AM t4nk_freenode: wirelessly through my router
09:49 AM t4nk_freenode: or I could plug a cable in
09:50 AM t4nk_freenode: heh, but after not having been used for a few months, suddenly the network connectivity is gone... well, like I said wlan0 still lets me connect, barely, to my phone, not to my router
09:51 AM t4nk_freenode: youknow.. I never knew how to shut that thing down, that might be the only problem
09:51 AM t4nk_freenode: I guess I just always unplugged the power cable from it
09:51 AM t4nk_freenode: but I guess the pi oughtta survive that
09:52 AM t4nk_freenode: I flashed some buster iso to a usb stick yesterday, to test, and it boots and eth0 is working fine
09:53 AM t4nk_freenode: I made a backup at some point, from what I have installed now.. but I don't even have a working usb card reader anymoe
09:55 AM t4nk_freenode: but ehh, I got my remora files on there
09:55 AM t4nk_freenode: so I'm not going to blindly install a new image
10:07 AM Lcvette[m]: I'm not sure how to access the dev chat anymore, but I found a status bug in linuxcnc where g and m codes do not appear to be updating in status.
10:08 AM Lcvette[m]: this is causing some issues with the qtpyvcp backplotter, VTK loading program files
10:08 AM t4nk_freenode: lol, I think I gone and done it now.. better not reboot my pi or it'll never come up again :))
10:08 AM Lcvette[m]: problem appears to be in the stable branch and the master branch
10:13 AM perry_j1987: morning
10:23 AM perry_j1987: need to figure out how people are doing this thing i seen. after drilling hole they use the same drillbit to chamfer the hole
10:23 AM perry_j1987: on a lathe
11:31 AM Lcvette[m]: Tom_L: are you on the dev chat?
11:37 AM roycroft: lcvette: the channel name on libera.net is linuxcnc-devel
11:38 AM roycroft: i don't think there's a matrix link to it
11:40 AM Tom_L: Lcvette[m], yes
11:41 AM Tom_L: roycroft, there is
11:43 AM roycroft: oh, ok
11:43 AM roycroft: i guess nobody is uing it currently
11:43 AM Tom_L: i dunno, i seldom use matrix
11:44 AM roycroft: matrix clients show up with [m] appended to their username, and nobody on the development channel shows that right now
11:45 AM roycroft: that's they only way i would know
11:45 AM roycroft: and why i guessed that there was no link
11:45 AM Tom_L: i don't think many of them use it
11:45 AM Tom_L: jepler does sometimes
11:46 AM Tom_L: a couple of those fairly new guys working on the docs do
11:48 AM Tom_L: Lcvette[m], better to fill out a bug report
11:49 AM roycroft: yes, most of the discussion there has been on documentation, specifically, language translations
11:52 AM Tom_L: so how's the sander?
11:52 AM Tom_L: too noisy or normal?
11:53 AM roycroft: when i initially checked it yesterday it seemed noisy and crunchy
11:53 AM roycroft: i haven't done anything else with it
11:53 AM roycroft: it is a rotex, so it may be normal
11:53 AM roycroft: i'm going to check the festool owners group forum when i get the time to see if others describe this kind of behavior
11:54 AM roycroft: and if i don't find anything there, i'll contact festool
11:54 AM roycroft: it has a 1 year warranty, so i'm not worried about it
11:54 AM roycroft: it's very heavy
11:54 AM roycroft: definitely a two-handed machine
11:54 AM roycroft: but that's kind of the point - this sander is for hogging off large amounts of material quickly
11:55 AM roycroft: it effectively replaces a belt sander
11:57 AM Rab: https://store-usa.arduino.cc/products/arduino-portenta-machine-control
11:57 AM Rab: Can a motion controller be far behind?
11:57 AM Tom_L: if so it will be grbl
11:57 AM Tom_L: which is rather limited
11:58 AM Tom_L: not much else would fit on an avr
11:58 AM Rab: I just don't know about those r/a SMT jacks in an "industrial" machinery environment.
11:58 AM Rab: But I can guess.
11:59 AM Rab: Not an AVR, it's a STM32H747.
11:59 AM Tom_L: oh, did they switch to arm?
11:59 AM Tom_L: arm are cheap
11:59 AM Tom_L: they're kinda proud of that board
12:05 PM roycroft: tom_l: my rotex shipped with a soft pad, which is normal for that product, but for my use i need a hard pad, so i have to get one of those before i can actually use the sander
12:06 PM roycroft: and woodcraft don't stock the hard pads, so i'm going to have to check the other festool dealers in town
12:06 PM roycroft: none of whom have a real web presence
12:08 PM perry_j1987: 3d print one and stick abunch of those command strips all over it :)
12:14 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
12:56 PM alex_jon1 is now known as alex_joni
01:12 PM unterhaus_: XXCoder, in retrospect maybe I shouldn't have bought the last printer that seller had :)
01:13 PM XXCoder: probably, though should be simple enough to do some repairs
01:13 PM unterhaus_: although if all it takes is $12 to fix it, it's no big deal
01:13 PM XXCoder: yeah
01:13 PM XXCoder: mine was good besides from bed sheet which was essentally halkf destroyed
01:13 PM unterhaus_: did you just remove it and use tape?
01:14 PM XXCoder: nah used it for a bit, then finally removed and placed pet sheet on it
01:16 PM unterhaus_: I was thinking bout doing that, probably wait until I mess mine up more
01:17 PM XXCoder: usually good idea one a time
01:28 PM perry_j1987: ballscrews are out for delivery
01:29 PM Tom_L: to me?
01:29 PM Tom_L: awesome!
01:32 PM JT-Shop: internet was down 1am to 1pm must have been a rain drop or three
01:32 PM perry_j1987: heh
01:33 PM perry_j1987: soon as they arrive i can head out to the shop and get to work
01:33 PM * JT-Shop punches back in and builds more parts
01:34 PM unterhaus_: I really want to buy ballscrews for my lathe, I blame Andy for suggesting I convert it
01:35 PM unterhaus_: conversion would solve some problems
01:37 PM unterhaus_: stepper wire came already, that was fast.
01:42 PM Lcvette[m]: Tom_L: im geting ready to test a new pc for linuxcnc,it is a dell optiplex 9020, im not used to dells having been using HP's for so long now, was wondering if you had any knowledge on setting up the bios stuff?
01:43 PM Tom_L: no not really
01:43 PM Tom_L: just the usual stuff
01:52 PM perry_j1987: ya im getting a ton of benefits out of this conversion unterhaus_
01:54 PM Lcvette[m]: for sata operation, disabled, ATA, AHCI, RAID On
01:55 PM Lcvette[m]: ?
02:17 PM JT-Shop: winter storm warning until 5pm Friday here... not going anywhere
02:18 PM JT-Shop: Lcvette[m], are you getting a decent latency now? if not look for any power saving stuff
02:28 PM jdh: I got mostly done with my 9x20 conversion and then lost interest.
02:28 PM jdh: Kinda like many OSS projects
02:33 PM perry_j1987: i had a vfd blow up in my 9x20
02:33 PM perry_j1987: fun stuff
02:49 PM JT-Shop: I really should have got a bag of ice melt...
02:54 PM roycroft: i found a hard pad for my new sander, so i should be able to test it after work today
02:54 PM roycroft: i think i still have some p24 abrasive - that + rotary mode means i should be able to hog wood off really fast
02:55 PM CaptHindsight[m]: Lcvette: kill all power management, speed stepping, virtualization
02:56 PM roycroft: and turn off that crypto currency mining app
02:56 PM CaptHindsight[m]: also requires a bit of luck, same as the BIOS developer for that machine
02:57 PM XXCoder: groundhog died before that event. guess winter is here forever now.
02:58 PM CaptHindsight[m]: mining crypto on some machines is a good way to keep the cores running at max clock speed, since their BIOS is broken and ignores speed step settings
03:01 PM roycroft: it's also a very expensive way of heating one's home
03:03 PM CaptHindsight[m]: not as expensive as burning saffron, for now
03:04 PM XXCoder: if setup is good, you can warm house in winter and get bit more money
03:04 PM XXCoder: rther than just pay power
03:04 PM XXCoder: or oil whatever
03:06 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://www.kmuw.org/2021-10-06/20-things-to-know-about-20-years-of-kansas-wind-farming
03:08 PM roycroft: home crypto currency mining has not been profitable for the better part of a decade
03:09 PM roycroft: the only people who make any money at all doing it are 14-year-olds, who think $100 is a lot of money, and whose parents paid for the computing gear and pay the power bill
03:13 PM perry_j1987: the groundhog died?
03:13 PM t4nk_freenode: nah, his did
03:13 PM t4nk_freenode: ... mine is doing fine ;)

03:42 PM t4nk_freenode: there, started compiling a kernel on my pi, went for some groceries, and it was waiting for me
03:42 PM t4nk_freenode: ;)
03:43 PM t4nk_freenode: I'm back baby hehe
03:43 PM t4nk_freenode: it runs, nework is up
03:43 PM perry_j1987: i should pick up one of the newer ones some time
03:43 PM perry_j1987: latest i got is the 3
03:43 PM t4nk_freenode: seems to have broken usb, but I don't care, I'm vnv'ed in
03:44 PM t4nk_freenode: pi 4 is the only one I got, I never much cared for one
03:44 PM t4nk_freenode: but it's kind of handy to have one around I guess
03:45 PM t4nk_freenode: and I find that the vnc is working like a charm
03:57 PM t4nk_freenode: mmm, well, I'll build a newer kernel... but I'll cross compile this time ;)
03:57 PM t4nk_freenode: first let me get rid of this darned extrakeyboard and mouse.
03:57 PM t4nk_freenode: (bah)
04:08 PM t4nk_freenode: might as well install gentoo 64 bit while I'm at it..
04:21 PM Tom_L: JT-Shop, got a good 10" or more here and supposed to get more overnite
04:21 PM Tom_L: may be another home day here too
04:24 PM JT-Shop: so far only freezing rain the little ice balls here
04:25 PM * JT-Shop punches out and goes to the other shop to play with wood
04:34 PM perry_j1987: got ballscrews woot
04:34 PM andypugh: Today in Essex, UK, felt like spring was here. 14C, warm sunshine…
04:41 PM _unreal_: hello, so this is dumbfounding
04:41 PM _unreal_: just got home
04:41 PM _unreal_: my 1/2" spindle showed up YAY great
04:42 PM _unreal_: and the entire box almost is "wet" with oil
04:43 PM _unreal_: ok.... :s great its lubed..... open the box. all the smaller boxes inside dry as a bone
04:43 PM _unreal_: the outside tape was starting to come off the box but was holding fine because of TAPE on TAPE
04:44 PM perry_j1987: yellow tape?
04:46 PM t4nk_freenode: yellow 'oil'? :b
04:51 PM _unreal_: clear packing tape
04:51 PM _unreal_: just odd
04:51 PM _unreal_: I 1 million percent expected it to be from the inside
04:51 PM _unreal_: more so its all of the corners and a few of the flats that are saturated. oh well going into the trash at this point
04:53 PM _unreal_: so I have I believe all of my ordered parts at this time. sucks though I can cant even start working on the new cnc machine now. because I just got the old one home, its sitting in my mazda. tonight is the big "move" moving a lot of stuff in the bedroom around. long over do. but it will make way more space I hope
04:53 PM _unreal_: and make it so I can place that machine I showed last year in the room in a usable setup.
04:53 PM _unreal_: A: so I can finish building it. and B: I got no other place to put it.
04:58 PM perry_j1987: there we go just got my steperbracket/bk10 combo units installed on the ballscrews
04:58 PM perry_j1987: everything fits as expected
05:41 PM * Lcvette[m] uploaded an image: (151KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/KwRWtFOqBuiJrMHVhSCnehXa/Screenshot_2022-02-02_18-24-47.png >
05:44 PM Lcvette[m]: andypugh: ^^^ 2.8
05:49 PM _unreal_: just found out why the house stinks
05:50 PM _unreal_: since my father is feeling 10x better now that the cancer chemo is wearing off he got a bit motivated today.... he seasoned a dozen cast iron pans......
06:21 PM ve7it: _unreal_, can you try an access ve7it.cowlug.org ... I just updated the certs for it
06:21 PM CloudEvil: :)
06:29 PM _unreal_: checking
06:29 PM _unreal_: BLAAA dust..... doing a big move in my bed room making room for the bigger cnc machine
06:30 PM roycroft: did you get letsencrypt working?
06:30 PM _unreal_: ve7it, the website IT POPPED right up no bitching/moaning from windows explorer.... or chrome
06:31 PM roycroft: it appears so
06:31 PM roycroft: you should probably redirect http to https
06:32 PM _unreal_: roycroft, for all the stuff I know. I'm WAY out of date on web coding
06:34 PM ve7it: roycroft, yes, thanks for the prodding.... it took a while, but I made good notes.. I actually have the server listening for both http and https connections
06:35 PM ve7it: I will leave it up to the browsers to mess up 25 years on links scattered around the web
06:42 PM roycroft: your website does have a nostalgic, late 1990s look to it :)
06:42 PM roycroft: but it works
06:42 PM roycroft: and that's all that matters
06:44 PM roycroft: you can do the http to https redirect in your server config file or .htaccess
06:45 PM roycroft: if you run apache as your webserver i can tell you how to do it
06:46 PM roycroft: the rules are probably similar with other webservers, so since it's short i'll just post the apache method, as i have to leave in a minute
06:46 PM roycroft: enable mod_rewrite first
06:47 PM roycroft: then, in your config:
06:47 PM roycroft: RewriteEngine on
06:47 PM roycroft: RewriteCond %{SERVER_NAME} =ve7it.cowlug.org
06:47 PM roycroft: RewriteRule ^ https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [END,NE,R=permanent]
06:47 PM roycroft: and bob's your uncle
06:48 PM roycroft: that will redirect any http: request to https:
06:48 PM roycroft: you'll need to do a server reload, of course
07:27 PM _unreal_: frig... I'm about half way there
07:27 PM _unreal_: big moves
07:27 PM _unreal_: lots of dust ball cleaning as well
07:27 PM XXCoder: honestly?
07:27 PM XXCoder: every website dev should develop on rpi4
07:28 PM XXCoder: if it dont pop up in a second there, website is a failure
07:28 PM XXCoder: note, 2 gb version not 4 or 8
07:28 PM _unreal_: I could be wrong but I think I'm going to have a lot more room in this room once I finishe shese moves
07:28 PM _unreal_: thes
07:28 PM _unreal_: these
07:29 PM _unreal_: I'm putting 3 two draw dbl sliding metal file cabinets in a row
07:29 PM _unreal_: before they were stacked
07:29 PM _unreal_: I'm going to put those behind my desk chair "behind ME" at my desk
07:29 PM _unreal_: and moving my desk fwd a bit
07:30 PM _unreal_: and putting the burrows to an other wall
07:30 PM _unreal_: they are not as deep as the file cabinets
07:30 PM _unreal_: so I should gain "SHOULD" room and a lot
08:00 PM unterhaus_: can I have a smart serial port on a 7i48?
08:02 PM unterhaus_: never mind, I forgot what a 7i48 actually was :)
08:02 PM Tom_L: i didn't see a spot for it yet
08:03 PM Tom_L: first glance, no
08:05 PM unterhaus_: my actual question is if I can drive the 7i48 and a smart serial output from a 7i93
08:08 PM unterhaus_: is there a way to decode the firmware names, does ss in there mean it has some smart serial?
08:10 PM unterhaus_: I thought the manual usually had a firmware list, but the 7i93 manual doesn't
08:26 PM _unreal_: I get a few more things "done" moving around in the bedroom and I will be able to bring in the "linuxcnc" cnc machine
08:35 PM Tom_L: unterhaus_, i think it may be safe to say the ss would designate sserial
08:35 PM Tom_L: only peter can decipher the names :)
08:36 PM unterhaus_: yeah, I found out the "ss" part on the forum
08:41 PM Tom_L: i think you can always check with mesaflash -readhmid
08:41 PM Tom_L: but you'd have to load the bit file first
09:36 PM unterhaus_: I'll have to look into how to go from 50 pin to smart serial a little more. I think the stmbl guys had something
09:36 PM unterhaus_: I don't need the servo interface plus 8 smart serial, which is the board I have now
09:36 PM _unreal_: the @#$^$#%^#$%@#$%#^ cnc machine is in the room
09:37 PM _unreal_: My daughter did 10x better this time then last time...
09:38 PM _unreal_: and she does not even remember brining it out to the car last time.... GO FIGURE
09:40 PM Tom_L: unterhaus_, is that a rs422/rs485 interface?
10:22 PM _unreal_: There aside from the MOUND of shit sitting on my bead 95% of the move is done
10:44 PM unterhaus_: Tom_L Yes, I think, I have a 7i44 http://store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=69_63&product_id=96
10:46 PM perry_j1987: wish i had an inventory of every piece of scrap material in my cad lol
10:47 PM perry_j1987: would make it so handy to see what i have to work with without going out to the shop
10:58 PM Bleepshop: perry_j1987: It'd either blow a fuse or go Skynet if you pointed it at my junkpile. LOL
10:58 PM perry_j1987: lol
11:00 PM Bleepshop: Well. Make that Skynet with lots of dirty limericks thrown in... LOL
11:01 PM XXCoder: perry_j1987: wonder if can make app where you can input basic shapes and sizes
11:01 PM XXCoder: ie 1' rod, 2" diameter
11:02 PM perry_j1987: a fusion 360 plugin that interfaces with the digital port on calipers :)
11:02 PM perry_j1987: take measurements and it inputs them in to generate shapes
11:03 PM XXCoder: if I recall right, some calupers have port, even if not sold as having output
11:03 PM XXCoder: probably can get proven and cheap one and hack
11:03 PM perry_j1987: even the cheapie ones do
11:04 PM perry_j1987: i was going to interface with them once for some cheap mini lathe DRO project
11:04 PM XXCoder: nice
11:04 PM _unreal_: ok
11:04 PM _unreal_: almost there
11:05 PM _unreal_: most everything is in a reasonable place
11:05 PM _unreal_: and aside from still cleraing some crap off of the bed... I'm more or less domne
11:05 PM _unreal_: done
11:06 PM XXCoder: perry I would love to do it, but I suck on soldering lol
11:06 PM _unreal_: I'm amazing at soldering
11:06 PM _unreal_: but likely too far away ;)
11:06 PM XXCoder: I would want really cheapo 500mm calipers and another for 250mm one
11:06 PM _unreal_: man I cant wait to get this cnc finished FINALLY
11:06 PM XXCoder: use em as dro for my cnc router or something
11:06 PM XXCoder: cool
11:07 PM _unreal_: heh
11:08 PM perry_j1987: you dont have to solder
11:08 PM perry_j1987: you could 3d print a socket that plugs right in
11:08 PM perry_j1987: hold some wires right in place on the pads
11:09 PM XXCoder: interesting
11:10 PM XXCoder: I have crap one I can play around with
11:10 PM XXCoder: certainly not using my mitoyoto one
11:11 PM perry_j1987: there are blog posts to show how to decode the signal
11:11 PM unterhaus_: I'm glad we're on the warm front side of this storm, goes from mexico to quebec
11:12 PM _unreal_: 70 outside right now
11:13 PM _unreal_: the @#$^#$% cold snap is over here
11:13 PM XXCoder: glad im at area where its always annoying cold
11:13 PM _unreal_: I use to be
11:14 PM unterhaus_: it can't decide here, we get it from all sides
11:14 PM _unreal_: maine nice in the summer. AMAZING in the summer. sucks the rest of the year
11:14 PM unterhaus_: it's going to rain all day tomorrow and then snow on friday
11:14 PM _unreal_: maine is the worst. you got cananda, the great lakes, and the atlantic all fighting to DUMP rain on maine
11:15 PM t4nk_freenode: I smell fish on you, maine-boy
11:16 PM _unreal_: wow freaking midnight
11:16 PM _unreal_: I still need to take a shower and clera stuff off of my bed
11:16 PM _unreal_: sigh
11:16 PM XXCoder: nah its 9 pm ;)
11:17 PM XXCoder: perry_j1987: ok will check into it evenually lol
11:17 PM _unreal_: XXCoder, so all I need to do is get the Z finished on this cnc machine
11:17 PM _unreal_: the one I was working on last year
11:17 PM _unreal_: SUCKS that the parts I just purchased to build the bigger one are now going o be back burnered. out of the blue. :(
11:18 PM _unreal_: lot of BS at work. I cant wait to finish getting all my shit out of that company
11:18 PM t4nk_freenode: ?!?! the c beams are going to waste!?
11:18 PM _unreal_: no they are going to collect dust for a bit
11:18 PM _unreal_: t4nk_freenode, hell my new spindle just showed up today as well
11:18 PM _unreal_: I shelled out $300 for that alone
11:18 PM t4nk_freenode: I know, the postman pee'ed on the box
11:19 PM _unreal_: if he pisses oil. then yes he covered it
11:19 PM _unreal_: or she
11:19 PM t4nk_freenode: was that a 2.5kW spindle?
11:19 PM _unreal_: 2.2
11:19 PM t4nk_freenode: with... er.. 16?
11:20 PM _unreal_: LOL god no
11:20 PM _unreal_: er20
11:20 PM _unreal_: I got it because I could not beat the deal I found
11:22 PM _unreal_: I had a choice between an other 1.5kw, and only ER11 for $260 with EVERYTHING all the bells and whistles and lots of add ons. or get this 2.2kw with everything the same minus some cheapy milling Vbits and minus official spindle wrenches.
11:23 PM _unreal_: for $305 shipped from with in the states with in 8 days of order from aliexpress.
11:23 PM t4nk_freenode: don't sweat it
11:23 PM _unreal_: the $260 didnt even include tax.
11:24 PM t4nk_freenode: sounds kinda expensive
11:24 PM _unreal_: so I mean lets say I had around +/- a $35 difference. between two spindles that are close to identical in CONTENTS of the sale, but one spindle is almost 100% more powerful.o
11:25 PM _unreal_: I shelled out what prob $550 so far for this new build.
11:25 PM _unreal_: sigh.
11:26 PM _unreal_: I'm so hoping my stock(s) go crazy very soon. very likely to
11:27 PM _unreal_: energy stocks are likely to be UP by the end of this month.
11:29 PM t4nk_freenode: rest assured, maine-man, they'll go crazy soon enough :b
11:30 PM t4nk_freenode: I'd sell 'em now if it was me
11:38 PM _unreal_: and with that the bed is clear
11:39 PM _unreal_: I'm wondering if I made the right choice and put the big machine behind me. and the samll machine close to the door.
11:40 PM _unreal_: I'd rather the door not risk bumping the big machine though.
11:40 PM _unreal_: sigh
11:40 PM _unreal_: well time for a shower now. after I check the laundry
11:41 PM _unreal_: thats done
11:42 PM _unreal_: omg... so tired
11:42 PM _unreal_: still need to shower
11:42 PM _unreal_: t4nk_freenode, so I just upgraded my cnc machine >:)
11:42 PM _unreal_: >>:)
11:43 PM _unreal_: 18x??? frig I have no idea where my tape measure is
11:43 PM t4nk_freenode: you're gonna mill in your bedroom?
11:44 PM _unreal_: found it, 18x32" aprox.
11:44 PM _unreal_: ahh
11:44 PM _unreal_: thats what I've been doing
11:44 PM _unreal_: I got no other place
11:44 PM t4nk_freenode: I thought me doing it in the living room was bad enough
11:44 PM _unreal_: all I have is a bedroom
11:45 PM _unreal_: I moved here with "everything" I had left so a way cut down "home"
11:45 PM _unreal_: and I've gotten rid of a lot more stuff since, AND gained
11:45 PM _unreal_: so ya I'm really cramped
11:46 PM _unreal_: if my stocks go running as I'm hoping. I should rebuild My capital to the point I can look at buying a house
11:46 PM _unreal_: that will be a wonderful day
11:46 PM _unreal_: if/when
11:47 PM t4nk_freenode: catch you later man
11:47 PM _unreal_: ! already
11:47 PM _unreal_: isnt it like 10am for you
11:48 PM _unreal_: or 6am
11:48 PM t4nk_freenode: dunno, I can't read the clock ;)
11:48 PM _unreal_: well time to shower
