01:38 AM t4nk_freenode: wanted to 3d print something... have to work with a damned sd card
01:46 AM t4nk_freenode: so I get my usb reader... doesn't work anymore
01:46 AM t4nk_freenode: this is the second one that stopped working
01:46 AM t4nk_freenode: damned irritatng
01:46 AM t4nk_freenode: anyhow, I think I'm on some sort of revenge spree now, for i've dismantled some laptop I had
01:46 AM XXCoder: sigh havent had a idea on what to print for so long
01:46 AM t4nk_freenode: and I'm about to blast the video chip with a heat gun, I think that's the problem
01:46 AM Loetmichel: mornin'. made it to the company safe and sound. Car is on the charger... lets see how many Ah are missing from the batteries :)
02:02 AM XXCoder: or was?
02:02 AM t4nk_freenode: it even has apostrophes
02:02 AM t4nk_freenode: is
02:02 AM XXCoder: you said you dismantled it then shot it?
02:03 AM t4nk_freenode: dismantled was perhaps a heavy term
02:03 AM t4nk_freenode: disassembled it
02:03 AM t4nk_freenode: my HEAt gun
02:03 AM t4nk_freenode: lol
02:03 AM XXCoder: lol
02:03 AM t4nk_freenode: heat, not bullets
02:04 AM XXCoder: I need to give my pc plenty of blast
02:04 AM XXCoder: air blasts heh
02:04 AM XXCoder: its quite dusty
02:04 AM t4nk_freenode: there are some cases where dust is a real killer
02:05 AM t4nk_freenode: I still feel sad for demolishing my first video projector that way
02:05 AM t4nk_freenode: never cleaned it out
02:05 AM t4nk_freenode: my girlfriend at the time told me to clean the filters
02:05 AM t4nk_freenode: I told her not to be silly
02:50 AM t4nk_freenode: no joy.
02:50 AM t4nk_freenode: *sigh*
02:54 AM randy: morning
02:54 AM t4nk_freenode: hi there
04:13 AM CaptHindsight[m]: SD-card readers have a shelf life similar to milk
04:13 AM CaptHindsight[m]: they might actually be made from dairy
04:15 AM Loetmichel: well, depends if its usb or internal
04:15 AM Loetmichel: the USB ones simply disappear. i never had one breah though
04:16 AM CaptHindsight[m]: they don't get lost in your pockets? :)
04:16 AM Loetmichel: no, they disappear from the desk usually
04:16 AM CaptHindsight[m]: i think i saw a washer and dryer in one of your pics on your keychain
04:17 AM Loetmichel: apparently our washer tends to eat socks but not usb devices
04:17 AM Loetmichel: It spits them out cleaned and pristine, just a bit wet ;)
04:17 AM CaptHindsight[m]: your coworkers like to borrow from you, it's a sign they like you
04:18 AM Loetmichel: For certain values of "borrow", yes
04:20 AM CaptHindsight[m]: USB hubs might also be made from dairy
04:38 AM Tom_L: morning
04:58 AM t4nk_freenode: *aaaaarghhh* nearly had a heart attack!
04:59 AM t4nk_freenode: I grabbed one of the little dongles I had taken apart
04:59 AM t4nk_freenode: and 'rubbed' it inside a female usb cable... to see if it would respond
04:59 AM t4nk_freenode: but
05:00 AM t4nk_freenode: I had some star trek playing in the background
05:00 AM t4nk_freenode: and at the exact same time of my rubing..... some short-circuit sounds played ;)
05:00 AM t4nk_freenode: rubbing.
05:02 AM Loetmichel: maaan, the things we do for the company... repairing a ripped off pad for a 0.5mm pitch FPC ZIF connector. I REALLY need new glasses or a better magnifying lens!
05:20 AM JT-Cave: morning

06:31 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
07:46 AM unterhausen: labeling the ports wrong on an electronics board is something I would do
08:39 AM Deejay: re
09:36 AM unterhausen: someone on the sheldon list says the feet on his stand can't twist the bed. I have the better version of the lathe and it's possible to twist the bed into a pretzel, so I'm not convinced he's doing it right.
09:38 AM roycroft: he should try harder :)
09:51 AM Centurion_Dan1 is now known as Centurion_Dan
10:05 AM aaroncnc: unterhausen, maybe he lacks the ability to measure the twist enough to notice. maybe they are using a normal house level.
10:06 AM aaroncnc: someone no the forum made a post asking about this machine. https://www.bobscnc.com/products/evolution-3-cnc-router-kit I was surprised to see belts on the x and y
10:09 AM roycroft: all lathes are twisty
10:10 AM roycroft: it's not a matter of if, but how much
10:11 AM aaroncnc: i know my lathe has a bit of a twist but i never make parts longer than 100mm on my lathe and i never need to hold much tolerance.
10:23 AM roycroft: has anyone heard of a courier called aqualine?
10:24 AM aaroncnc: no but they are listed on 17 track
10:25 AM aaroncnc: I use it to track packages from all carriers
10:25 AM aaroncnc: https://www.17track.net/en
10:36 AM roycroft: i have a part for my cnc router shipping from florida using them
10:36 AM roycroft: allegedly shipping from florida
10:37 AM roycroft: there's so much fake tracking number scam stuff going on these days i'm pretty dubious about it
10:38 AM roycroft: i'm just trying to sort out whether the part will arrive close to on time, whether it's really coming from china and will arrive a month late, or whether it's not going to arrive at all
10:39 AM unterhausen: apparently some sheldon lathes have a joint under the tailstock
10:39 AM roycroft: unfortunately, i need the part in hand so i can measure it in order to do my z axis design
10:40 AM roycroft: it took a week to even get a tracking number
11:52 AM roycroft: folks, i'm still pondering my linear rail options for my router, the y (gantry) axis in particular at the moment
11:53 AM roycroft: i'm reading that the hiwin clone rails work decently, but the bearing blocks need to be disassembled and cleaned out/relubed before they can be used, vs. genuine hiwin, which cost about 3x as much, but are ready to go as shipped
11:53 AM aaroncnc: roycroft, you can go cheaper first then if you find its not meeting your expectations upgrade.
11:54 AM roycroft: i don't mind that work, so i'm trying to decide on two hiwin clone rails on each side - upper and lower - or a single sbr rail
11:54 AM roycroft: the cost difference on those options not a primary consideration
11:54 AM roycroft: which would be more rigid?
11:54 AM roycroft: the hiwin clone rails are lower profile, and that would be a benefit
11:55 AM roycroft: yes, aaroncnc, but it's not a choice between genuine hiwin and hiwin clone
11:55 AM roycroft: and if i got hiwin clone and decided to move to sbr later, or vice versa, that would require a significant change to the gantry structure
11:55 AM aaroncnc: i would advise the clone rails, get them as wide as you can afford.
11:56 AM roycroft: i'll mock up a design with them and see how that goes
11:56 AM roycroft: i like that they're lower profile, but i'm not sure if there will be room for the ball screw in between them
11:57 AM roycroft: well, i know i can make room for that, but i'm not sure if i'd have to get fancy with the side pieces to do so
11:59 AM aaroncnc: have you ever seen any of the granite epoxy cnc machines?
12:10 PM roycroft: yes
12:11 PM roycroft: but i haven't looked at them closely
12:11 PM roycroft: and iirc they're all mills (at least all the ones i've seen)
12:12 PM aaroncnc: https://www.cnczone.com/forums/epoxy-granite/354358-cnc.html
12:13 PM aaroncnc: thats not epoxy one but close to what i talked about before with a granite base.
12:14 PM roycroft: for my router a granite base would not work out well at all
12:15 PM roycroft: and i don't think it's necessary at all
12:15 PM roycroft: for a mill i can see it
12:15 PM roycroft: for parts of a mill, that is
12:15 PM roycroft: and for a dedicated cnc router, i can see how it might be useful (for a small one)
12:16 PM roycroft: it would be useful for a large one too, but a large surface plate is pretty expensive
12:17 PM JT-Shop: hmm I have 240V Delta in the machine and need 120vac and neutral...
12:18 PM roycroft: that's not too hard to do
12:18 PM JT-Shop: there's no neutral in the machine...
12:18 PM roycroft: just replace the power cord with a 4 wire cord so you can bring the 120v tap over along with the 240v sides
12:18 PM roycroft: and do some internal rewiring on the machine
12:19 PM roycroft: and install an l14 receptacle to plug it into
12:19 PM JT-Shop: it's hard wired to the other side of the building
12:19 PM roycroft: no more than a day's work or so :)
12:19 PM roycroft: but kidding aside, i'm trying to sort out that same issue myself
12:20 PM JT-Shop: no power cord on this machine
12:20 PM roycroft: and maybe i'm just being obstinate
12:20 PM JT-Shop: no neutral in the panel either
12:20 PM roycroft: my new bandsaw i rewired to 240v, because that's what i use for all my machines
12:20 PM roycroft: i have a nice led lamp for it
12:20 PM roycroft: the lamp can run on 120v or 240v, but it has a standard nema 5 plug on it
12:21 PM roycroft: and the lamp receptacle on the saw is the same
12:21 PM JT-Shop: the control transformer spits out 63v to ground on each leg...
12:21 PM roycroft: i *could* just plug it in like that and it would work
12:21 PM roycroft: but that's just too scary for me to bring myself to do
12:21 PM roycroft: some day, somebody might unplug that lamp and plug a 120v only device into the saw
12:22 PM roycroft: so i'm thinking i need to get a small 240v transformer with a 120v tap, and stick that in the saw somewhere so i can run the lamp on 120v
12:22 PM roycroft: that's the safe and code-compliant way to do it
12:22 PM roycroft: and i only need a fraction of an amp for this application
12:23 PM roycroft: i don't know if that's something you could do
12:23 PM roycroft: in my case, the transformer could be tiny, since the lamp is only 12w
12:24 PM JT-Shop: if you have a neutral in the machine you're all set
12:33 PM roycroft: yes
12:33 PM roycroft: and if you have a neutral at the panel then you're all set, after you rewire everthing from the panel to the machine
12:33 PM JT-Shop: one phase + neutral is 120v
12:33 PM roycroft: well sort of
12:33 PM JT-Shop: 240v delta does not have a neutral
12:34 PM roycroft: oh, wait, i see now
12:34 PM roycroft: you're not using 240v single phase
12:34 PM roycroft: you're using 240v delta
12:34 PM JT-Shop: no, 3 phase
12:34 PM roycroft: so it's a 3 phase panel
12:34 PM roycroft: then you have no 120v tap
12:34 PM roycroft: no matter what you do
12:35 PM JT-Shop: the first copy lathe was easy is fed by a 240v - 480v 3 phase transformer which provides a neutral
12:35 PM roycroft: so your option is what i'm considering - a small transformer inside the machine to handle the 120v components
12:35 PM JT-Shop: two are 120v to ground and one is 208v to ground
12:35 PM roycroft: well, that's one option
12:39 PM JT-Shop: not one that I like
12:40 PM JT-Shop: me calls Automation Direct Technical Support
12:40 PM roycroft: nor i, but i'm not sure what else i can easily do
12:41 PM JT-Shop: you said you have a neutral right?
12:41 PM roycroft: at the panel i do
12:41 PM roycroft: but not to the machine
12:41 PM roycroft: i don't want to rewire my machinery outlets to 4 wire
12:42 PM roycroft: that would be a lot of work, and i'd have to replace the plugs on all my machines
12:42 PM roycroft: well, i wouldn't necessarily have to do that latter, right away at least
12:42 PM roycroft: i have two 240v machinery receptacles in my shop
12:43 PM aaroncnc: i know when i setup my garage shop i just pulled 4 wire to everything but left one un-used incase. has been great when i want to move my welder or compressor around.
12:43 PM roycroft: each feeds a power distribution box
12:43 PM roycroft: i could just replace the drop cords to those boxes, and replace the receptacles where i need 120v inside the boxes
12:43 PM roycroft: but that still is a lot of work and expense
12:43 PM roycroft: it would end up costing me probably $300 or so by the time i'm finished
12:44 PM roycroft: all for a single 120v receptacle on one machine
12:44 PM JT-Shop: ah ok then a small transformer from 240v to 120v and ground the neutral
12:44 PM roycroft: so the transformer is probably a better bet
12:44 PM roycroft: i'm still looking for 240v receptacles that would fit on the saw where the 120v one currentily is installed
12:45 PM roycroft: if i can find one that fits, i might just order a lamp from the eu that comes with a 240v plug
12:45 PM roycroft: or from somewhere else
12:45 PM roycroft: i don't mind putting eu style receptacle in the machine
12:45 PM roycroft: i just don't want to feed 240v to a 120v receptacle
12:46 PM roycroft: and the lamp has a wall wart on the end, not a regular plug
12:46 PM roycroft: it does the voltage conversion inside the wall wart, so i can't just cut it off and hard wire the lamp to the machine
12:47 PM roycroft: although if i measure the voltage, which i suspect is 12vdc, at the lamp itself i can probably change that receptacle to 12vdc
12:56 PM roycroft: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bel/110-OF?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsKEdP9slC0YdOgzC8Q6Pd2d1VrY5ny1M4%3D
12:56 PM roycroft: that would work for me, but i'd rather get one that costs about 1/2 that much
01:02 PM roycroft: and i found one on ebay
01:28 PM roguish[m]: roycroft: watch the kva rating..... very easy to undersize......
01:31 PM roycroft: i need 12w
01:31 PM roycroft: it's rated at 0.87
01:31 PM roycroft: that's plenty of wiggle room
01:31 PM roycroft: the better part of an order of magnitude
01:31 PM roycroft: 0.87a, rather
01:31 PM roguish[m]: just a reminder. i've undersized in the past and the xformer fried.....smoked.......
01:32 PM roguish[m]: bad
01:32 PM roycroft: yeah, i'm aware of that
01:32 PM roguish[m]: ugly
01:32 PM roguish[m]: ok, cool
01:32 PM roycroft: now i just have to find a place to mount it
01:32 PM roycroft: i'm going to go spec that out at lunch time
03:06 PM JT-Shop: looks like I get tomorrow off while I wait for the control transformer to arrive
03:26 PM Tom_L: i'm sure you will find something to work on
03:32 PM miss0r: I have decided to try a new setup for driving the coils. I've been reading alot since the last time I was in here crying my eyes out about the blown mosfets :)
03:33 PM miss0r: I've opted for a diagonal halfbridge design, where two of the switches are replaced with rectifyers, effectively shooting the coil inductance back into the main capacitor.
03:33 PM miss0r: as far as I understand it, very little protection for components are needed in this setup, in addition the efficiency will rise, as the energy that is not spend will be 'recycled' instead of thrown away as heat
03:34 PM miss0r: plus - two mosfets are now in series driving the coil, effectively allowing me to survive a short voltage spike double of what I could before.. :D
03:35 PM miss0r: anyway.. [/Rant] I'm off to bed, see you around :)
03:40 PM Tom_L: glad to hear you're still on it :)
03:42 PM Tom_L: 72F today
03:43 PM CaptHindsight[m]: last near 60F day here
03:43 PM Tom_L: woops, 74F currently
03:43 PM CaptHindsight[m]: until March
04:08 PM JT-Shop: 78°F here
04:14 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: honda truck pics?
04:17 PM XXCoder: jeez
04:17 PM XXCoder: https://twitter.com/ChrisJacksonSC/status/1466168047157366786
04:17 PM XXCoder: looks very stable. genius work
04:40 PM JT-Shop: roguish[m], need to take some...
04:41 PM CaptHindsight[m]: XXCoder: those pics have been making the rounds today
04:41 PM XXCoder: not surpised
04:44 PM CaptHindsight[m]: XXCoder: more good cop stories https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkeS_0NQUZs
04:45 PM XXCoder: yeah read about it. horrible
04:46 PM JT-Shop: roguish[m], been pretty busy converting another copy lathe and trying to make a hole big enough for the truck and me in the garage...
04:56 PM XXCoder: so tired of dizzyness
04:56 PM XXCoder: talking in ASL affects me so badly
04:56 PM XXCoder: moving arms cause my head to shake a little, my vision shakes and makes me sick and headachy
05:00 PM CloudEvil: Get steadycam, upgrade motors, mount on neck.
05:03 PM XXCoder: wish that would work :P
05:03 PM CloudEvil: Only sort-of-kidding.
05:04 PM bobbytables: Actually I believe the best answer is to gather a bunch of chickens and attach their heads to yours: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dPlkFPowCc
05:04 PM bobbytables: I wonder if that would work with spindles to reduce chatter.
05:04 PM XXCoder: lol
05:05 PM XXCoder: i think I know that video
05:05 PM XXCoder: yup
05:06 PM CaptHindsight[m]: XXCoder: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10366460/ very well written and made
05:06 PM XXCoder: already watched
05:06 PM XXCoder: and yes it is. keep in mind not all is like that
05:07 PM XXCoder: theres local cultures like any other
05:10 PM CaptHindsight[m]: so all are not fishing families? :p
05:11 PM CaptHindsight[m]: XXCoder: i expected it to be a big cheesy and more something for Lifetime TV, was a pleasant surprise
05:11 PM XXCoder: it DOES show aspects of culture very clearly
05:11 PM XXCoder: like being more open
05:13 PM CaptHindsight[m]: XXCoder: did shops require any extra safety features for the machines that you were on?
05:13 PM XXCoder: nope
05:13 PM roguish[m]: little help please. how can i revert to a different .deb version of linuxcnc?
05:13 PM roguish[m]: of master...
05:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: roguish[m]: which way?
05:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: from debian 10 to 9 or what?
05:14 PM roguish[m]: I have the deb file. buster.
05:15 PM CaptHindsight[m]: so you have Buster installed now?
05:15 PM roguish[m]: I just did an update and something broke. i want to go back one step. found the deb file in the apt cache
05:15 PM CaptHindsight[m]: and what do you wish to change to?
05:16 PM roguish[m]: all the same, just back to the previous install of linuxcnc .deb.
05:17 PM CaptHindsight[m]: what updates were they? Did you use synaptic or apt from the command line?
05:17 PM roguish[m]: some cmd line? maybe an apt uninstall, then apt install....
05:17 PM roycroft: folks who have cnc routers: i know the footprint that i need to be able to machine with my router, and i know how much extra room i need to add to the axes to have clearance for the spindle to get to the perimeter, but what's a reasonable amount of extra space to plan for?
05:17 PM roguish[m]: used synaptic
05:17 PM roycroft: you probably want to do an apt purge to make sure it's all gone
05:18 PM roycroft: if that's what you want to do
05:19 PM roycroft: apt remove will get rid of the app files, but may leave some of your configuration files
05:19 PM roycroft: apt purge should get rid of those as well
05:20 PM roguish[m]: dont want to loose the configs....
05:20 PM CaptHindsight[m]: don't assume things here
05:20 PM roycroft: apt remove may or may not remove some of them
05:20 PM * roycroft is not assuming anything, which is why he explained the difference
05:21 PM Tom_L: back the configs up in any case
05:21 PM roycroft: oh, i guess i assumed something at first
05:21 PM roguish[m]: Tom_L: totally....
05:21 PM roycroft: strike that original response :)
05:21 PM roycroft: although i qualified it immediately
05:22 PM roycroft: personally i'd just restore the snapshot i made right before the upgrade attempt :)
05:23 PM roguish[m]: it failed on one of my qtvcp qtdragon customizations. I already put a note up on the forum for cmorley. he's really good at response, and he helped on the customization......
05:23 PM CaptHindsight[m]: worst case just reinstall, I did 10 installs a couple of weeks ago, they took about 20 minutes each
05:23 PM CaptHindsight[m]: and use your backed up config files for LCNC
05:23 PM roguish[m]: capt_hindsight[m]: of linuxcnc, or of a whole system?
05:24 PM CaptHindsight[m]: bare metal, zero's drives to LCNC running a latency test
05:24 PM CaptHindsight[m]: zeroed
05:25 PM roguish[m]: https://forum.linuxcnc.org/48-gladevcp/44316-gladevcp-widget-customization#228235
05:25 PM Tom_L: roguish[m], i generally just uninstall linuxcnc and point to the .deb i want
05:25 PM roguish[m]: all the way at the end.
05:25 PM Tom_L: takes very little time
05:26 PM roguish[m]: Tom_L: like: apt-get uninstall........ linuxcnc ???
05:28 PM Tom_L: or use synaptic manager
05:28 PM roguish[m]: ok, then I can use gdebi to install 'cause I have the deb file....
05:29 PM roguish[m]: ok backing up the config directory
05:29 PM Tom_L: works for me
05:31 PM roguish[m]: THANK YOU ALL.
05:42 PM JT-Shop: anyone seen a box marked hose and fittings? I think it's next to the shop scissors!
05:47 PM Tom_L: i borrowed that the other day but i swear i put it back!
05:47 PM roycroft: which shop scissors? there are a pair at every workstation now :)
05:48 PM JT-Shop: the pair that lives in my center desk drawer...
05:52 PM roycroft: my shelving unit arrived today, and i moved most of my hardwood shorts out of my shop to the shelves
05:52 PM roycroft: that's really nice
05:52 PM roycroft: and in the process i found a box of hour meters that i'd forgotten i have
05:52 PM roycroft: so i don't think i'll need to buy any more of those for quite some time
05:54 PM Tom_L: got your gantry all drawn up yet?
05:54 PM JT-Shop: my fedex packages were delayed until tomorrow and I think roycroft had something to do with that :)
05:55 PM roycroft: no
05:55 PM roycroft: i'm still wrestling with some details
05:55 PM roycroft: including what i asked about here a short time ago
05:56 PM roycroft: but i'm close to being ready to start drawing it
05:56 PM Tom_L: add the truck size for each one and how far apart you space them then add the desired travel to that
05:56 PM Tom_L: plus any mounting blocks for ballscrew etc
05:56 PM roycroft: yeah, i have all that stuff sorted already
05:57 PM roycroft: but do i want to leave a little extra room around the sides?
05:57 PM Tom_L: i never built a gantry
05:57 PM roycroft: so that the limit switches, for example, don't stop the spindle before it reaches the edges
05:57 PM roycroft: and i'll need to add the diameter of the largest cutter i plan on using to the overall width
05:57 PM Tom_L: you can put the limits anywhere you want
05:57 PM Tom_L: don't really need to be on the edge
05:58 PM roycroft: so that it can overhang the working footprint
05:58 PM Tom_L: they need to trip before you reach it though
05:58 PM roycroft: i'll just add what i think is about right, and see how the numbers come out
05:59 PM roycroft: on the x, i think it's not going to be an issue at all, but on the y i might be tight on length
05:59 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Wiring/X_Limits_wiring.jpg
05:59 PM roycroft: and the z is brand new and based on nothing, so i can make it whatever it needs to be
05:59 PM Tom_L: that must be my x limit upper right

06:01 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
06:12 PM roycroft: *chuckle*
06:12 PM roycroft: i just logged into grabcad.com for the first time in a while
06:12 PM roycroft: and i see there's a message for me - welcoming me as a new member
06:12 PM roycroft: i signed up on that site 8 years ago
06:12 PM roycroft: and they just got around to welcoming me
06:13 PM CaptHindsight[m]: don't forget about the 6" fly cutter
06:14 PM CaptHindsight[m]: or you'll be reminded later by groves in the gantry
06:17 PM * roycroft refers capthindsight to the comments he made some moments ago
06:18 PM * CaptHindsight[m] no longer reads the backlog, just random tidbits
06:20 PM roycroft: i mentioned above adding the diameter of the largest tool i anticipate using to the equation
06:25 PM CaptHindsight[m]: storage space, finger pinch areas, outside clamps, inside clamps, c-clamps, flood coolant accessories etc
06:26 PM CaptHindsight[m]: spoon rest, safety mirrors, guard rails.... the list goes on
06:30 PM Tom_L: cup holder
06:35 PM CaptHindsight[m]: if your gantry has ever spilled your coffee you won't forget the cup holder
06:37 PM roycroft: i'm not sure i've ever had a cup of coffee while in the shop
06:37 PM Tom_L: booze?
06:37 PM roycroft: i make a cappuccino in the morning shortly after i rise
06:37 PM roycroft: and that's my only coffee all day
06:38 PM roycroft: if i drink coffee later on the day i have trouble sleeping that night
06:38 PM roycroft: i keep other refreshing beverages away from my machines and workbenches
06:38 PM CaptHindsight[m]: booze is best held out of the way when machining with one of those booze holder hats
06:39 PM CaptHindsight[m]: or when log splitting
06:40 PM roycroft: it's generally best imbibed after the work is done, not during the work
09:30 PM Joco[m]: sorry to interrupt. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I am trying to find where in the python interface this is exposed:
09:30 PM Joco[m]: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/blob/8b26250efcf1344e2405eeea4052404c67ee83a2/src/emc/rs274ngc/pyparamclass.cc#L129
09:30 PM Joco[m]: It reads like it's available but I can not on 2.9pre find where to access it
