12:33 AM Deejay: moin
05:15 AM JT-Cave: morning
05:24 AM XXCoder: yo
06:31 AM Loetmichel: **MUHAHAHA!** I just *sneezed*... Phone rings, its the coworker one story up from the factory floor, across the company in his office "Gesundheit!" (Bless you)... he heard me through 2 hallways, a staircase and a concrete ceiling.
06:32 AM XXCoder: lol
06:32 AM XXCoder: must be damn quiet at that time
06:32 AM Loetmichel: actually not, its a production floor. about half a dozen workers assembling PCs
06:33 AM XXCoder: lol probably go off like bomb then
06:33 AM Loetmichel: probably
06:43 AM randy: well, the question is more - why can he guess based on the sound of sneezing the correct co-worker?
06:44 AM Loetmichel: because i am the only one that rattles the windows when sneezing :)
06:51 AM randy: "uhuh seismic activites.. GOZILLAAAA!"
06:55 AM Loetmichel: comes with the territory of being slightly overweight i think.
06:55 AM XXCoder: bigger bellows
07:40 AM Basilic: Hello all
07:43 AM JT-Cave: yo
07:47 AM Rhine_Labs: Morning
08:43 AM Rhine_Labs: Coffee..
08:57 AM miss0r: I'm stainding here marveling at what I just dragged iN! :D
08:58 AM miss0r: I have here on a small pallet, a 4th &5th axis self contained unit to bolt onto my cnc
08:58 AM miss0r: Its an older model kitagawa. At the moment it has a Erowa chuck mounted on it, but I think it will come in handy when I mount a 3 or 6-jaw chuck on it
09:00 AM miss0r: All seems to work, except it has lost its refrence point - which is easily mended (I think) I need to actualy read the manual to be sure. Its a unit that you can add a program to, so that each time the PLC in this thing gets an input puls, it moves to the next position that is preprogrammed, with this nice little handheld controller
09:00 AM miss0r: Also, It has pneumatic braks for both axis ! :D
09:00 AM miss0r: breaks*
09:01 AM miss0r: So, now I just need to figure out how to integrate it. THAT and it, even though its a quite compact unit, sits comfortably at around 90kg
09:02 AM miss0r: so I think I will need to make a small crane to easily be able to remove and install it
09:02 AM CloudEvil: :)
09:02 AM CloudEvil: The happy time when it's on its pallet, full of possibility and without all the swearing that comes later.
09:03 AM CloudEvil: Sorry, spoilers.
09:03 AM miss0r: Indeed. Now it is all beautiful "ohh look: if I push here it moves! SUCCESS".. I know what comes later :D
09:05 AM miss0r: I wish I could say it was all shiny and new.... This is more like oily and dirty
09:06 AM CloudEvil: As long as it's not needing a long soak in evaporust.
09:06 AM miss0r: Luckily that is not the case.. It could use some degreasing in some places, though :D
09:07 AM CloudEvil: Grease is good. Grease works. (To paraphrase Gecko)
09:07 AM miss0r: I mean; The bottom of the electronics cabinet does not need THAT much oil to be running smooth :D

02:35 PM Rhine_Labs: More Coffee..
02:40 PM JT-Shop: heat index 103°F
02:47 PM Roguish_shop: JT-Shop, now that's toasty
02:47 PM JT-Shop: hmm I can't seem to find the hole size in the pull for a 8-32 cabinet screw
02:48 PM JT-Shop: yep, only lasted an hour at the spoke machine at mid-day
03:09 PM Contract_Pilot: I live across the border from Portland I avoid that place.
03:10 PM Contract_Pilot: Across the River LOL River LOL
03:22 PM MrHindsight[m]: roguish[m]: kids just have to show up, nothing new. And if they show up the schools get paid.
03:22 PM MrHindsight[m]: how public school has worked here for decades
03:26 PM Tom_L: who turned up the burners? ... heat index here of 103-108
03:26 PM Tom_L: they don't really even have to show up
03:29 PM MrHindsight[m]: Ghost Children
03:29 PM Tom_L: who's gonna manage the 'burden of society' when we're gone?
03:30 PM Tom_L: most in their 20's today already don't know how to work
03:31 PM MrHindsight[m]: because parents in their 50-60's don't know how to parent
03:48 PM Contract_Pilot: USPS was early today.
03:48 PM Contract_Pilot: More Coffee

04:08 PM JT-Shop: https://gnipsel.com/images/wood-working/saw-stop/saw-cabinet-20.jpg
04:08 PM Tom_L: fancy
04:10 PM Tom_L: what's in the center?
04:10 PM CloudEvil: Tom_L: I'm guessing a saw.
04:11 PM Tom_L: maybe a thin crossgrain piece for strength?
04:11 PM Tom_L: kinda hard to tell
04:13 PM JT-Shop: it's a piece of pine, the ones I'll make will have a strip of black walnut
04:13 PM JT-Shop: grain is all running the same direction... that's a practice pull
04:14 PM Tom_L: k
04:14 PM Tom_L: i thought you may have cross grained it for extra strength
04:17 PM JT-Shop: thought about it a bit but didn't want end grain in the front
04:17 PM JT-Shop: I kinda like the proportions a tad better than Roy's
04:18 PM Tom_L: yeah
04:18 PM Tom_L: i won't tell him that though
04:18 PM Tom_L: :)
04:19 PM JT-Shop: I heard that!
04:30 PM JT-Shop: what's the chip load for hardboard?
04:35 PM Tom_L: https://www.onsrud.com/Forms/Cutting-Data-Recommendations.asp
04:36 PM Tom_L: scroll down to hardwood
04:36 PM Tom_L: or whatever applies
04:38 PM Tom_L: for their cutters, but i'm sure it's not going to be that far off
04:45 PM JT-Shop: thanks
04:45 PM Tom_L: one site said around 21 cubic ft of wood chips
04:46 PM Tom_L: i'm going out on a limb here and saying that's a truckload of wood chips
04:52 PM Tom_L: FSwizzard suggests around .0037" for "wood" the free version doesn't break that category down
04:54 PM Tom_L: ... i had that set to a .125" cutter, .250 suggests .010"
04:58 PM JT-Shop: yeah it's a 1/4" down cut router bit I'm going to use
04:58 PM Tom_L: FS wizzard is usually pretty close
04:59 PM Tom_L: i have to go a bit under what it says due to the size of my mill

05:47 PM andypugh: So 3 hours in bed.
05:48 PM andypugh: Oddly, now it is 2330 here, I am feeling better than I have all day
05:52 PM Contract_Pilot: andy, yea, i have a CIRCADIAN RHYTHM SLEEP DISORDER
05:53 PM andypugh: I wouldn’s say that I have a _disorder_. I find that I have a circarian rythm that lets me online-game with the US as long as I have a job that is OK with me getting in at 0930.
05:55 PM andypugh: And that was the case until this pendemic gave is “flexible working” which basically seems to mean an 0815 meeting every morning. Last night was a special case. though. My mum had a plumbing problem that it took me until 11pm to fix, and she is a 4 hour drive away.
06:01 PM JT-Shop: drum sander down, need to figure a way to plane black walnut to 1/8"...
06:43 PM Contract_Pilot: Saying 100F by end of the week.. reached 115 in june
06:53 PM _unreal_: oh I love it. bunch of people in one of the stock room chats I hang in. are reeling after ignoring one of my calls LOL
