01:11 AM Loetmichel: mornin'
01:17 AM Deejay: moin
04:36 AM miss0r: Apparently my working life boild down to two functions: 1) making a mess of the workshop. 2) cleaning the workshop.
04:36 AM miss0r: boils*
04:37 AM miss0r: and for reasons beyond my graps; the latter takes up alot more time than the former

05:09 AM JT-Cave: morning
05:09 AM XXCoder: yo
05:09 AM Loetmichel: *meh* third day of soldering filter boards. I HATE those 0805 feedthru filters. doing about the 150th now, by hand with a soldering iron... Man my eyesight was better a few decades ago... :(
05:53 AM JT-Cave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97_jn-tHcII
05:55 AM XXCoder: lol tricking em
05:56 AM XXCoder: interesting one of em got one pile and rest got another
06:08 AM JT-Cave: yea gotta make them get away from the door so I can go in lol
06:09 AM XXCoder: yeah
06:14 AM Tom_L: morning
06:16 AM XXCoder: yo
06:27 AM Tom_L: do they get wheat every day?
06:27 AM JT-Cave: yes
06:27 AM Tom_L: just a little spoiled...
06:27 AM XXCoder: i couldnt do work like that lol
06:27 AM JT-Cave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wEc3bR0dOg
06:27 AM XXCoder: probably why I has no chickens, ignoring city laws and all that
06:28 AM JT-Cave: it's actually good for them to get some greens every day, they normally eat greens when free ranging
06:42 AM XXCoder: yeah i'd just buy green stuff though

07:26 AM enleth: https://twitter.com/lotnabrygada/status/1326507868238049282/photo/1
07:39 AM enleth: ah, sorry, not here
07:40 AM enleth: channel numbers shifted around in my IRC client and I failed to check the actual channel name
08:39 AM JT-Shop: I keep getting phone calls on my cell phone with 573 area code and 260 prefix but they don't leave a message so I don't answer or call back
08:40 AM gregcnc: anyone ever seen bubble mailer packaging in roll form?
08:41 AM JT-Shop: https://www.whycall.me/573-260.html
08:57 AM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
09:12 AM JT-Shop: hmm I just figured out how to block all calls that start with some number!!!
09:24 AM JT-Shop: I have to make a bunch of 1/4" thick parts with a couple of holes and a full profile, from flat stock two ops minimum with stock near finished size
09:25 AM JT-Shop: well I have some short pieces of 3" x 2" x 1/4" tubing so using that one setup and two parts from each one
11:06 AM Tom_L: gregcnc, not sure what you're after
11:07 AM Tom_L: short answer: no
11:08 AM Tom_L: i've gotten boxes of bubble mailers from uline
11:10 AM gregcnc: basically bubble mailers, but in continuous form
11:11 AM gregcnc: i got something from japan that was packed like that
11:11 AM gregcnc: we must not have anything like that
11:12 AM JT-Cave: that wouldn't be a consumer item but rather for automated assembly factories
11:12 AM enleth: gregcnc: a sleeve of bubblewrap in paper?
11:12 AM gregcnc: pretty much
11:12 AM gregcnc: but I don't think this was paper faced, just a thicker plastic
11:13 AM jymmmm: https://www.uline.com/Grp_138/Bubble-Roll-Dispenser-Boxes
11:13 AM gregcnc: kind of like the white amazon padded envelopes
11:14 AM gregcnc: jymmmm that stuff bubble tube is everywhere, but something tougher and not transparent
11:15 AM jymmmm: gregcnc: and you've seen this before?
11:15 AM Rab: gregcnc, a continous tube in concert with heat-sealing technology? Or perforated envelopes with flaps?
11:15 AM gregcnc: continuous for heat seal
11:15 AM jymmmm: gregcnc: what are you shipping?
11:15 AM gregcnc: stuff
11:16 AM JT-Cave: roflmao
11:16 AM jymmmm: Ok, nevermind
11:16 AM gregcnc: like i said i got a package from japan which came like that. typical mailer, but heat sealed at both ends
11:17 AM enleth: JT-Cave: FWIW, it doesn't take a high order volume to benefit from "optmized" packaging like this, small e-commerce businesses are using packaging materials dispensed from rolls as well, not just factories
11:17 AM Rab: This seems to use a continuous roll of bag material: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmodGyjztN4
11:18 AM Rab: Oops, had only skimmed the video. The sheet is folded and sealed as it goes into the machine.
11:18 AM JT-Cave: like I said not a consumer product you would find in packaging supply stores
11:18 AM gregcnc: uline has bubble tube
11:19 AM gregcnc: so we just don't have it in the US
11:19 AM enleth: I have a small online store with a very modest order volume, yet it still made perfect sense to go for heat-sealed LDPE sleeve for packaging, order handling time got cut by 1/3
11:19 AM JT-Cave: uline canada?
11:19 AM gregcnc: enleth gets it
11:19 AM enleth: as compared to any attempts at hand-wrapping products in absolutely anything
11:20 AM JT-Cave: I wish I could cut my handling time by 1/3 but I spend most of my time waiting on stamps.com software to respond lol
11:22 AM Rab: http://www.jitpackaging.com.au/product-3.php
11:22 AM gregcnc: that's readily available
11:23 AM Rab: You want something pre-sealed and perforated, and/or a surface better suited as an envelope?
11:23 AM jymmmm: https://www.uline.com/BL_473/Bubble-Tubing
11:23 AM gregcnc: suitable for mailing
11:25 AM Rab: The black stuff halfway down this page looks close to mailers I've seen: https://www.polytech-verpackungen.de/en/bubble-wrap-film/bubble-wrap-tube.html
11:26 AM Rab: And I think the only special characteristics there are opacity, and bubble side inwards.
11:27 AM jymmmm: gregcnc: https://www.amazon.com/250-Self-Adhesive-Corrugated-Wrap-Roll/dp/B0115BNKRC
11:27 AM Rab: You would want your heat-sealing process to be really well dialed in before trusting the bags as a shipping enclosure, though.
11:33 AM jymmmm: The self adhesive corrugated wrap is about as close as I can think of "ready to ship"
12:51 PM * JT-Shop needs a pci slot motherboard any suggestions?
01:00 PM jymmmm: JT what about this? https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145170?Item=N82E16813145170&Description=itx%202%20pci%20slots&cm_re=itx_2%20pci%20slots-_-13-145-170-_-Product
01:09 PM jymmmm: JT this might have potential, might have to ask if he has any systems with PCI slot(s)... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Build-Dell-Desktop-Computer-i5-16GB-2TB-SSD-Windows-10-PC-WiFi-DVD/293526962748
01:25 PM JT-Shop: looking for someone that has setup LinuxCNC on the motherboard and knows the latency is ok for a pci Mesa card
01:26 PM JT-Shop: no pci slot on that newegg mb
01:36 PM Tom_L: i've got a coupld gigabyte mb
01:58 PM Tom_itx: JT-Cave, gigabyte H110M-S2H-CF i5 2.7Ghz: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/configs/latency/Buster_latency.png
01:59 PM Tom_itx: 1 pci 16 and 1 short one
02:06 PM JT-Shop: thanks
02:08 PM JT-Shop: hmm that board seems to not be in production
02:09 PM JT-Shop: like any I have they are a few years old

03:44 PM Loetmichel: Oh maan, now i am really pissed... just got the packet ID from the notebook manufacturer in china... the DHL express boy really marked it as "delivery refused"... so it will be going back to china. THAT guy has to search for a new job. Trying to extort 7 eur "tip" will cost him a lot more. >:-(

06:18 PM _unreal: sup
06:18 PM _unreal: ok so question
06:18 PM _unreal: where wouldyou guys put the mount on a 1.5k watt spindle?
06:18 PM _unreal: clamp it in the middle. bottom?
06:19 PM _unreal: HELL top
06:19 PM _unreal: ?
06:19 PM Tom_L: bottom
06:20 PM _unreal: very bottom?
06:20 PM _unreal: I'm trying to solve my cut location
06:20 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Spindle/Belt_Guard1.jpg
06:20 PM _unreal: on the square tube
06:20 PM Tom_L: like that
06:21 PM _unreal: heeh thats not my kind of spindle
06:22 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Spindle/Motor_mounted1.jpg
06:22 PM Tom_L: without the guard
06:25 PM _unreal: I litteraly have this https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/2cMAAOSw7NNUKT6U/s-l640.jpg
06:26 PM _unreal: I'm so glad I purfchased the one I did when I did, you cant even find it any more
06:26 PM Tom_L: looks like it already has a mount
06:26 PM Tom_L: close to the spindle
06:28 PM _unreal: heh
06:28 PM _unreal: I can PUT it where ever I want
06:28 PM _unreal: I'm trying to figure out where to mount it
06:28 PM _unreal: I'm thinking close to the bottom
06:28 PM Tom_L: that's what i just said
06:28 PM Tom_L: close to the spindle
06:36 PM _unreal: I'm working on getting the long square tube prepped
06:38 PM _unreal: I just got the primary vertical cast part that was for a mounbt for a very largemotor to a luxury yacht cut down and matched to what I'm goin gto need
06:38 PM _unreal: It should be rather nice when I get the thing done
06:38 PM _unreal: I am wondering how my torque is going to be. what kin dof load can it take before it starts to deflect
06:38 PM _unreal: who knows
06:43 PM htasta: _unreal: you want to mount it so your tools will reach the stuff you want to cut. I adjust mine whenever I need to go deeper or higher.
06:43 PM Tom_L: i'm rather pleased with mine
06:53 PM _unreal: ya thats the other thing I was thinking about but I dont know that I really want to be adjusting my mount.
06:54 PM _unreal: I would think it would be wiser to always leaveit in a fixed location period
06:55 PM _unreal: My Z should have 10.5" depth
06:55 PM _unreal: I am fearful it could have more flex then I want htough :S
06:55 PM _unreal: but its hard to tell
07:02 PM roycroft: teh youtube is pretty broken
07:02 PM Tom_L: aww what a shame
07:02 PM _unreal: ?
07:02 PM roycroft: i was trying to watch an instructional video, actually
07:02 PM _unreal: Ihave not had any issue with youtube
07:02 PM roycroft: so it is kind of ashame
07:02 PM _unreal: whats the link?
07:02 PM roycroft: videos are buffering like crazy
07:03 PM roycroft: and now i get errors loading new ones
07:03 PM roycroft: and it's not me - i can go elsewhere just fine
07:03 PM _unreal: whats the link
07:03 PM _unreal: would be interesting to test
07:03 PM roycroft: i can't even give you a link right now
07:03 PM roycroft: youtube won't even fully load
07:03 PM _unreal: if I get the same lag that would suggest there is little or no parallel servers
07:04 PM roycroft: oh well, it's about time to go meet some friends for dinner
07:04 PM _unreal: apears to be loading forme
07:04 PM roycroft: maybe it will be fixed by the time i return
07:04 PM _unreal: maybew
07:05 PM _unreal: ok loading for me not
07:05 PM _unreal: I think the computer was cashing
07:05 PM _unreal: caching
07:06 PM roycroft: so it's a widespread youtube meltdown
07:06 PM roycroft: this is terrible
07:06 PM roycroft: folks won't be able to upload crazy conspiracy theory videros for a while
07:06 PM Tom_L: someone in canada was asking me too
07:06 PM Tom_L: so it's widespread
07:06 PM _unreal: ya youtube is loading for me fine

07:09 PM _unreal: youtube IS loading a bit slow though
07:09 PM _unreal: then again I'm in south florida
07:09 PM _unreal: so hehe NOissues with bandwith
07:18 PM JavaBean: i am hearing elsewhere that youtube is having issues.
07:18 PM JavaBean: at first, i thought it was my craptactular internet
07:34 PM JavaBean: _unreal seems youtube is back
08:50 PM unterhaus: I asked my google home mini if youtube was down and the response was a batch of websites that don't belong to google
08:51 PM unterhaus: it also didn't know that it wasn't playing any music, which seems like a pretty easy thing to determine
09:49 PM roycroft: i am back
09:49 PM roycroft: and teh youtube seems not so broken
10:09 PM XXCoder: roy should be recovered now

10:26 PM CaptHindsight: Employees: 22
10:27 PM Tom_L: they work from home now
