01:03 AM Deejay: moin
07:10 PM Tom_L: must have died early this morning
07:22 PM XXCoder: yo
07:27 PM robotustra: looks like glycerine does magic
07:27 PM robotustra: it slows down drying of acrylic paint as long as needed, depending on concentration
07:27 PM robotustra: just need to find right proportion
07:27 PM robotustra: glycerine does not allow H2O to evaporate freely
07:37 PM CaptHindsight: robotustra: we use fiffent glycols in inks and paint to modify dry time and viscosity
07:37 PM CaptHindsight: fifferent/different
07:39 PM CaptHindsight: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycol_ethers
07:40 PM CaptHindsight: same group for ink, paint, cosmetics and foods :)
07:40 PM andypugh: Yikes, I was just typing an email in Gmail and typed “it might be interesting from an anth” anf Gmail auto-suggested….
07:42 PM andypugh: …from an anthroplogical perspective. Which is what I wanted to type, indeed, but “thropologial perspective” is a lot of auto-suggest.
07:43 PM CaptHindsight: similar auto complete in google search, I get all sorts of way off suggestions
07:46 PM CaptHindsight: andypugh: how is the buildbot behaving?
07:46 PM robotustra: CaptHindsight, I just added may be 20-30% by volume and drying time increased may be 10-20 times
07:46 PM robotustra: may be a need very small drop of glycerine
07:47 PM CaptHindsight: you'll figure out how much by trial and error
07:48 PM robotustra: I have to make etiket because the guy have already sent a payment...
07:50 PM CaptHindsight: etiket = a label of some sort
07:51 PM robotustra: label into violin
07:51 PM CaptHindsight: made of paper but placed inside the violin?
07:52 PM robotustra: yes
07:54 PM robotustra: some people just print it on a printer, I want to print it with a deep print, like ofotr
07:54 PM robotustra: ofort
07:56 PM robotustra: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etching
07:56 PM robotustra: but insted of etching use engraving
07:57 PM CaptHindsight: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letterpress_printing
07:57 PM CaptHindsight: a positive that makes an impression and leaves the ink in the impression
07:58 PM robotustra: inin russian it's called "high press"
07:58 PM robotustra: and I'm trying to do "deep press"
08:00 PM roycroft: robotustra: the process is called "intaglio" in english
08:00 PM roycroft: and probably in italian as well
08:00 PM CaptHindsight: intagilo-ini
08:00 PM roycroft: you might get more information if you search on intaglio
08:01 PM CaptHindsight: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intaglio_(printmaking)
08:13 PM robotustra: I always forget this word, I remember only french version
08:13 PM robotustra: o'fort = strong water = acid
09:21 PM robotustra: sounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7rhiCto4Kg
09:25 PM robotustra: titanium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DE_79nRIp0
10:07 PM jymmmm: JT got a new project for ya... Jumbo gantry, meet jumbo vise... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFrhwC0eeCs
10:08 PM Tom_L: don't drop it on your toe
10:10 PM Tom_L: i didn't think going from 9mm to 15mm belt was _that_ big a deal but the torque multiplier for 9mm is .54 and for 15 is 1. slightly less than twice as much torque
10:11 PM Tom_L: i just gotta figure a way to make it fit..
10:11 PM Tom_itx: https://www.gates.com/content/dam/gates/home/resources/resource-library/catalogs/light-power-and-precision-manual.pdf
11:18 PM CaptHindsight: tiny rubber teeth can't handle much power
11:19 PM CaptHindsight: just needs more teeth in contact, wider teeth and bigger teeth
