08:11 AM jymmmm: Good morning folks
09:37 AM beachbumpete1: Mornin' :)
10:24 AM elmo40: moo
10:26 AM elmo40: beachbumpete1, those speaker shells take 24hrs?
10:26 AM elmo40: with a corexy machine??
10:27 AM beachbumpete1: elmo40: yeah unfortunately unless I want to ante up for Simplify3d... I tried about every setting inside cure and its about 24-25 hours
10:27 AM beachbumpete1: had to pause it again this morning before work
10:28 AM elmo40: you didn't fix up the roll yet??
10:44 AM elmo40: beachbumpete1, what are the main settings you are using? layer height and infill parameters?
10:44 AM elmo40: some infills are faster than others. i find zigzag to be the quickest. lines is quite similar.
10:45 AM beachbumpete1: Actually I gotta thank you, last night while it was printing I had the roll on the floor and letting it pay out and that was working.
10:45 AM beachbumpete1: I watched a few more videos on unravelling the roll and fixing it
10:45 AM beachbumpete1: tried it and it seems to have worked
10:46 AM beachbumpete1: I am using .2 layer height, 25 percent infill, and 3 outer layers all down from .2 layer height, 50 percent infill, and 4 outer layers. lowest I could get it was 24-25 hours
10:47 AM beachbumpete1: Oh and I was using triangular infill I think
10:53 AM beachbumpete1: Its PAINFULLY slow man hehehe but hey it just does its thing I guess and we wait
10:56 AM elmo40: that is damn slow
10:56 AM elmo40: and the feeds?
10:57 AM elmo40: you should be able to rip that thing at ~80
10:57 AM elmo40: with rapids around ~200
10:58 AM elmo40: my cartesian machine does 60 print speeds and 150 rapids.
10:58 AM elmo40: Y suffers some ringing effects... i think my bed bushings are wearing out a little. causing play.
11:58 AM JesseG: hazzy-m, Just noticed your post, yeah I'm in Sequim Wa - only 4 hours away :P
11:59 AM JesseG: hrm, I almost could go through Vancouver on my way to eastern Oregon
12:03 PM beachbumpete1: elmo40: i am sorry I was printing at 80 no idea what the rapids are actually.
12:04 PM beachbumpete1: I tried 100 but another guy I know that has the same machine ran at 100 and said he had print quality issues sometimes like that.
12:04 PM beachbumpete1: I dont know I have not really tried.
12:43 PM jymmmm: DIY Roller Bender (kinda cool)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3ZG2HlqLMQ
01:27 PM miss0r2: syyl: The maho is sold. :)

01:28 PM syyl: running fine?
03:52 PM * JT-Shop likes jobs that pay up front in full
03:53 PM Tom_itx: cash is always good too
03:54 PM SpeedEvil: gold?
03:54 PM Tom_itx: even better
03:59 PM JT-Shop: I can tell without looking it's made out to CnC Machines LLC lol
04:04 PM Deejay: gn8
05:40 PM * jthornton takes five with Dave Brubeck
05:52 PM _unreal_: very pissed off right now
05:52 PM _unreal_: I ordered my Tnuts last week. they only JUST shipped them on the day theyw ere supposed to arrive according to the web site
05:53 PM _unreal_: and they dont expect them to arrive untill chrimstmas eve which is WAY over the 3 day shipping I payed for
05:54 PM Tom_itx: merry christmas from china
06:06 PM Loetmichel: *phew* re at home. So much for "pausing the 3d-printer for the night"... had to work 'til now. started 0800 yesterday... (17 hours ago). and the coworker and the engineer are still there and at work.
06:07 PM Tom_itx: you trust them to play alone?
06:08 PM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
06:08 PM infornography: Merry Christmas _unreal_ ho ho ho
06:09 PM infornography: We shipped you a lump of coal
06:10 PM Loetmichel: Tom_L: not my call... and no, i dont. already had to put a bandaid on the engineers hand, he managed to ram a phillips #0 screwdriver into his palm ;)
06:10 PM Tom_L: that's how kids learn what not to do...
06:12 PM _unreal_: yay.. btw my father is out of the first round of surgery.
06:12 PM _unreal_: err state
06:12 PM _unreal_: stage
06:14 PM _unreal_: ok time to go take a shower
06:15 PM _unreal_: ve7it, if you had to guess do you think you'll get the package before or after new years?
06:17 PM _unreal_: I just sent Tnuts.com a scathing email... I ordered on the 12th did 3 day shipping. they only just shipping the package TODAY
06:17 PM _unreal_: they only just shipped the package today.
06:17 PM _unreal_: and the tracking says it isnt going to arrive for 5 days
06:18 PM ve7it: _unreal_, who knows? I like to keep a few orders in the pipeline so I get china love on a regular basis! It does make for long project times when you wait months for parts... dont want to forget things
06:18 PM ve7it: took me over a year to build a minibike
06:18 PM _unreal_: heh
06:18 PM _unreal_: I have more Tnuts in the popline from china....
06:19 PM _unreal_: but I said hell with it and am going to wait. because they are so hard to get. the size I'm trying to get that I said F!! this I may as well have extra on hand.
06:19 PM _unreal_: I'm very pissed off about the local distributure screwing me though
06:20 PM ve7it: I am waiting for some as well.... you could also make some by cutting and tapping some flatbar
06:20 PM _unreal_: blows my mind. US based ordered last week with 3day mail and they are only shipping it 4 days later
06:20 PM _unreal_: cant
06:20 PM _unreal_: its for my rails
06:20 PM _unreal_: I have to have the self centering
06:20 PM _unreal_: on top of that the rails only have 3mm on each side of the extrusion Tnut slot
06:22 PM _unreal_: more like 3.75mm on each side. but I'm afraid any DIY crap will slide
06:22 PM ve7it: I made a bunch for my milling table, but positioning is not so critical when they are just used for material hold downs
06:22 PM _unreal_: Y rails
06:22 PM _unreal_: AND the rails have the m4 screws
06:22 PM _unreal_: screw holes
06:28 PM _unreal_: ok and with that I'm going to go take a quick shower
06:28 PM ve7it: ttyl
06:29 PM _unreal_: ve7it, msg
08:04 PM kyle__: :/ Stupid person question here: can you fix dxf files inkscape doesn't like? I need to convert dxf files to svg to use easel, which I was using to generate the gcode for my maslow. But it's dying on most of the files with "parser error : Start tag expected, '<' not found 0"
08:05 PM Tom_L: depends
08:07 PM _unreal_: kyle__, why not use maslow?
08:07 PM _unreal_: kyle__, do you use windows or linux or both?
08:08 PM _unreal_: kyle__, ?
08:09 PM kyle__: linux
08:09 PM kyle__: Errr, maslow's stuff reads svg I thought?
08:09 PM kyle__: I haven't used my cnc in a few months, my memory may suck.
08:09 PM _unreal_: hum
08:10 PM _unreal_: kyle__, if your using chrome http://maslowmakercam.000webhostapp.com/
08:10 PM _unreal_: works wonders
08:11 PM kyle__: I haven't seen this one before.
08:11 PM _unreal_: its by maslow
08:11 PM jymmmm: watch all and listen to the end, lol... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HiDvSOyDGI
08:11 PM _unreal_: kyle__, you can also use carbide create IF you have a windows computer
08:12 PM _unreal_: and its free
08:12 PM _unreal_: kyle__, I can help you in a few but I have to do somethin gwith my 10yo
08:12 PM kyle__: Heh. I'm doing this in between running doing things for my two. I understand
08:17 PM kyle__: Hrumm. Well, it is very cool they got it up and working, but it puts me back at the same stage of needing to convert dxf to svg files.
08:54 PM kyle__: 2 things: one I found that qcad comes with a dwg2svg tool that does this perfectly!
08:54 PM kyle__: (a little annoying it says it's a trial, and gives you a 15 second lag per file, but meh, I don't mind too much)
08:55 PM kyle__: two: Easel DOES do dxf import, and it works perfectly as well >_< I just didn't realize that the top-menu and the tool bar were not 1-1 mappings, and the toolbar has import options the top-menu does not.
08:55 PM * kyle__ sighs
09:01 PM _unreal_: kyle__,
09:01 PM _unreal_: hi
09:01 PM _unreal_: ok you need dxf to svc
09:01 PM _unreal_: svg
09:01 PM _unreal_: can you send it post it etc..?
09:02 PM kyle__: I don't think so :/ they're paid files for some arcade cab project someone asked my wife if we could cut out
09:02 PM _unreal_: ?
09:02 PM kyle__: I know there are a ton of good plans for cabs, so I dunno why you'd pay for them, but you know.
09:02 PM _unreal_: meaning can you send it to me and I can convert it
09:03 PM kyle__: Ohh. That's ok :) I figured it out. Using the qcad tool.
09:03 PM _unreal_: I OWN fusion360 and other cad software
09:03 PM * kyle__ nods
09:03 PM _unreal_: kyle__, msg
09:03 PM kyle__: I think I'm going to actually pay for a copy of something soon, because setting this up took 1/4 as long as the cut is supposed t0 (estimated time for this cut is 4hours)
