12:42 AM _unreal_: arg....
12:47 AM _unreal_: so late
01:02 AM _unreal_: sigh... My laptop is painfuly slow using fusion
02:04 AM pink_vampire|2: hi
02:04 AM XXCoder: welcome back
02:05 AM pink_vampire|2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h_cqTCT5g0
02:06 AM XXCoder: needs more rear stabilizing fan
02:07 AM XXCoder: pretty amazing building a plane and trying
02:07 AM XXCoder: some of em is pretty bad though
02:08 AM XXCoder: one is too heavy, one not enough rear stabilzing, one not enough strength on wheels
02:18 AM Deejay: moin
04:42 AM Tom_L: morning
05:17 AM Wolf__: morning
05:34 AM jthornton: morning
05:35 AM XXCoder: yo
05:47 AM Wolf__: ugh this weather sucks
05:48 AM Wolf__: 61% humidity inside with the AC running
05:48 AM XXCoder: today it will cross 80f for first time here
05:48 AM jthornton: yea AC running at 4am
05:48 AM XXCoder: 58f now though
05:48 AM Wolf__: its 84 in my shop alreadyy
05:48 AM XXCoder: my ac didnt see all that much use in july. july it saw a lot more use
05:48 AM jthornton: 78f here
06:29 AM pink_vampire|2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkTgyvaYn0M
06:30 AM jthornton: cast iron settles lol
06:31 AM XXCoder: bah wireless so slow
06:32 AM pink_vampire|2: she trim the head of the machine to 1 thousand across the table of a chinese mill
06:34 AM pink_vampire|2: just the uneven weight of the table on one side will rise the other end
06:38 AM pink_vampire|2: why she is using a parallel to trim the vise??
06:39 AM XXCoder: didnt see that part, what time?
06:40 AM XXCoder: interesting. no idea
06:40 AM pink_vampire|2: 13:00
06:40 AM XXCoder: i got lucky with random time click lol
06:40 AM XXCoder: i usually use jaw on fixed side
06:40 AM pink_vampire|2: lol
06:40 AM pink_vampire|2: same here
06:42 AM pink_vampire|2: some times I'm soo lazy, and I'm probing the vise and rotate the coordinate system in linux cnc
06:44 AM XXCoder: lol
06:44 AM XXCoder: truing vise is a reuirement really
06:44 AM XXCoder: think thats fun? try truing TWO vises, AND have it aligned to each other
06:44 AM XXCoder: never did 3 vise but that happens, though rarely in shop.
06:47 AM pink_vampire|2: I want to get small vise for the mill
06:47 AM jthornton: my vmc has two vises and they are aligned to each other and the vmc
06:47 AM XXCoder: if possible, get kurt
06:48 AM XXCoder: but its so expensive so not likely. theres cheaper as good ones though
06:49 AM pink_vampire|2: XXCoder: it is very easy, just clamp parallel in each vise and use a dial indicator that mount on 1 foot bar of brass
06:49 AM XXCoder: only one foot?
06:50 AM XXCoder: i was talking about 3 feet wide
06:50 AM XXCoder: besides I cheat a little using large alum scrap
06:50 AM pink_vampire|2: look at 6:10
06:50 AM XXCoder: 2 inches thich
06:51 AM XXCoder: so it gets it within .01" then I fine tune it in
06:52 AM pink_vampire|2: next time you need to clamp a straight edge
06:52 AM XXCoder: not really I just use fixed side face of jaw
06:53 AM XXCoder: the large bar is just to align 2 vises faster
06:53 AM pink_vampire|2: I know
06:53 AM XXCoder: maybe cheaper jaws need parallel and clamping
06:53 AM XXCoder: dunno
06:53 AM XXCoder: never used any vises besides kurts
06:54 AM pink_vampire|2: but i want to hear the story how your boss react to you clamping a straight edge
06:54 AM XXCoder: lol
06:54 AM XXCoder: even 2 vise is pretty rare
06:54 AM XXCoder: and tend to be seperate steps
06:55 AM XXCoder: there is few large parts that do need it
06:55 AM XXCoder: like special titanium brace thing
06:55 AM XXCoder: its 4 feet wide
06:55 AM Wolf__: I think joe pie has a vid on setting up more then one vice for long parts
06:55 AM XXCoder: requires 3 jaws, rare example of
06:58 AM pink_vampire|2: XXCoder: you make want to get 5 super small vises and use them to hold lathe tools for millturn
07:00 AM pink_vampire|2: XXCoder: you can also just willy nilly the location, and run an end mill to make sure the fix jaw run true (joke)
07:00 AM XXCoder: lol
07:01 AM pink_vampire|2: if it work on a surface grinder, and on a face plate on the lathe....
07:02 AM Wolf__: if you are using soft jaws in a kurt style you can
07:02 AM Wolf__: standard jaws are hardened tool steel
07:03 AM Wolf__: I think...
07:04 AM pink_vampire|2: Wolf__: just use carbide
07:05 AM Wolf__: yeah, no thanks, I’m not putting a end mill in to a surface ground finished part
07:07 AM pink_vampire|2: I'm joking
07:07 AM Wolf__: =P
07:08 AM XXCoder: we do use hard jaws and convert em to fixtures sometimes
07:08 AM XXCoder: some parts just demend it.
07:09 AM XXCoder: ie one tiny plate turn to radiused ends plate seems not much, but 2,000 per order
07:09 AM Wolf__: makes sense if the part is hard enough that it will deform the alum soft jaws
07:09 AM XXCoder: that kills alum jaws evenually
07:09 AM XXCoder: those parts is alum.
07:09 AM XXCoder: just that its used over and over and...
07:12 AM Wolf__: I need to cut stock so I can make a stencil for my plasma… I really dont want to go outside to the garage to cut it though...
07:26 AM _unreal_: it figures that video that andypugh posted is helpful but because there is no audio there are a lot of things he's doing and I have no idea what or how
07:26 AM _unreal_: heh
07:27 AM _unreal_: there are a lot of activities that just kind of magicly happen. I assume using short cut keys etc....
07:28 AM jthornton: which video?
07:43 AM Wolf__: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOdfgsZGQoE jthornton
09:38 AM perry_j1987: morning
09:39 AM perry_j1987: everybody got their coffee yet?
09:39 AM perry_j1987: quiet in here
09:49 AM JT-Shop2: had my coffee @ 5am
09:50 AM _unreal_: I just got out of the :) bathroom
09:50 AM _unreal_: morning shower
09:50 AM * hazzy-m slept in late
09:52 AM hazzy-m: re: multiple vises - their was somebody on insta yesterday using 5 Kurt vises for one part...
09:54 AM perry_j1987: im wrestling with myself right now i may have to mix imperial and metric threads on this project to get it all to fit..
09:58 AM _unreal_: has anyone played with these kinds of bits? https://www.amazon.com/Assorted-Diamond-Jewelry-Gemstones-Lapidary/dp/B00BRMPPUA/ref=sr_1_48?keywords=rotary+tile+cutting+bit&qid=1563720762&s=gateway&sr=8-48
10:01 AM perry_j1987: what are yu wanting to drill
10:02 AM perry_j1987: diamond bits i've used were core drills with the diamons just on the tip
10:45 AM _unreal_: Thats just it. I'm trying to figure out what kind of options there are
10:49 AM perry_j1987: what do you want to drill through
11:07 AM Tom_L: hazzy-m, not uncommon for long parts
11:07 AM Tom_L: if they're too thin for a vacuum fixture
11:09 AM Tom_L: _unreal_ i wouldn't use them on anything you want any sort of accuracy on
11:10 AM Tom_L: i could shorten that by saying: i wouldn't use them
11:12 AM Tom_L: 85
11:12 AM Tom_L: °F
11:13 AM Tom_L: 59% humidity
11:13 AM Tom_L: i'd much rather have dry heat
11:22 AM _unreal_: I'm back
11:23 AM _unreal_: I'm not 100% sure how those bit can be used yet. I need to do a little research
11:23 AM _unreal_: 85f lol
11:23 AM Tom_L: things like glass, ceramic etc
11:23 AM Tom_L: it's been 100+ here all week
11:23 AM _unreal_: its 90 here and 100% humidity
11:24 AM Tom_L: yeah but i'm not in florida
11:24 AM Tom_L: and that's why
11:24 AM Tom_L: beside all the critters
11:25 AM _unreal_: heh
11:30 AM Tom_L: it's bad enough in Savannah
11:30 AM _unreal_: OMG this is driving me nuts. I'm trying to flip the XYZ orientation in fusion on this grape thing
11:30 AM _unreal_: all I want is Z to go up
11:30 AM Tom_L: https://grabcad.com/tutorials/activate-orbit-rotate-feature-via-mouse-in-fusion-360--1
11:30 AM Tom_L: no that's not it
11:30 AM Tom_L: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-move-or-rotate-grouped-bodies-in-Fusion-360-after-initial-import.html
11:30 AM Tom_L: any cad that can be called cad has that feature
11:31 AM _unreal_: in his video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOdfgsZGQoE&feature=youtu.be he flips Z but becuase he never talked. he's using lots of short cut keys and other features and I have no idea how or what he's doing hehe
11:32 AM _unreal_: around the 4min mark
11:33 AM Tom_L: i don't plan on learning fusion360
11:34 AM _unreal_: I dont want to but I dont know of any other ways to deal with full 3d milling
11:34 AM _unreal_: for generating NC path
11:34 AM _unreal_: like the 3D grape
11:34 AM Tom_L: it's probably the only somewhat decent somewhat free solution
11:35 AM Tom_L: i purchased a package years ago i still use
11:36 AM Tom_L: fusion360 is still in it's infancy imo and has a ways to go
11:36 AM _unreal_: I just downloaded artcam free
11:37 AM _unreal_: its been discontiunud so I found a working link before they all go byby
11:37 AM Tom_L: there were a couple others for doing artsy things that seemed ok
11:38 AM Tom_L: https://www.scorchworks.com/Fengrave/fengrave.html
11:38 AM _unreal_: and feature cam all 3 fusion art and feature are autodesk software
11:39 AM jym: Loetmichel: sigh, is it vaporhangout?
11:39 AM _unreal_: ya I downloaded that a few days ago
11:39 AM _unreal_: have not done anything with it but I have it
11:40 AM _unreal_: Tom_L, that is one of those things thats bugging me. there was some software I use to use back in 2k3 when I built my first cnc machine and I cant for the life of me remember the name
11:41 AM Tom_L: cambam, bobcad...
11:41 AM Tom_L: gloops knows, he's just not sayin
11:42 AM skunkworks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2t0y2EsSO8
11:42 AM gloops: what was the question?
11:42 AM Tom_L: gloops what was the cad software he used in 2003?
11:43 AM Tom_L: :)
11:43 AM gloops: 2003 - etch a sketch
11:44 AM jym: gloops: no, cad, nor cam ;)
11:44 AM jym: not*
11:45 AM * Tom_L skips ahead to 8:00 for the exciting part
11:46 AM Tom_L: not much of a chip breaker on that drill
11:46 AM jthornton: hmm ctrl shift u b0 enter does not work in debian 10
11:46 AM Tom_L: what did it do in a previous life?
11:46 AM jthornton: the degree symbol
11:47 AM Loetmichel: Jymmm: ah, you found it already
11:48 AM Tom_L: jthornton, what's your impression of 10 so far?
11:48 AM jym: Loetmichel: Yeah, thanks it was the ## I forgot
11:49 AM jthornton: can't tell much difference
11:50 AM skunkworks: Tom_L: no.. I could have fed it faster or pecked more
11:51 AM * Loetmichel just found an component tester kit with ATmega328 and 2x16 char display... ca.2009 sill shrinkwrapped... (was cleaning my desk at home). *assemble* Lets see if that still runs... :-)
11:51 AM jym: °
11:52 AM jym: jthornton: ctrl+shit+u, release u, then 00b0, then release ctrl+shift
11:52 AM jym: it's 200°F
12:05 PM perry_j1987: Loetmichel those little component testers sure are handy. how did yours make it all this time without use heh
12:06 PM perry_j1987: mine has little color lcd which is real handy when it shows the pinout of mosfets and such
12:06 PM perry_j1987: schematic symbol of the fet
12:12 PM Loetmichel: perry_j1987: i think i bought two, assembled one for the comapny and took the second one home and forgot it ;)
12:13 PM perry_j1987: ya mine came as kit too
12:13 PM perry_j1987: was fun soldering job
12:24 PM enleth: XXCoder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VpZmGvkrGc the video I mentioned a couple days ago when you posted a BMW engine teardown
12:25 PM enleth: now *that's* an engine teardown
01:08 PM Loetmichel: *HEUREKA* it still runs... even if the kit was close to a decade in a drawer :-) -> http://www.cyrom.org/palbum/main.php?g2_itemId=17430&g2_imageViewsIndex=1
01:26 PM _unreal_: I'm back.
01:26 PM _unreal_: had to help my father transport a chair his girlfriend purchased from good will
01:26 PM _unreal_: they just want me for my roof racks
01:49 PM gloops: Long Live the Queen!!!
01:49 PM gloops: oops, wrong channel
01:49 PM _unreal_: fuck the queen
01:50 PM _unreal_: oops, right channel
01:50 PM _unreal_: :)
02:03 PM gloops: you shouldnt talk about the Queen like that _unreal_ the Queen is the most powerful person alive
02:04 PM gloops: people disappear etc
02:04 PM gloops: see how she summoned Trump to give him her orders
02:05 PM enleth: regardless, at 93 she's probably no longer very much into fucking
02:05 PM _unreal_: enleth, lol
02:06 PM gloops: i wouldnt even think about the Queen having sex, or going to the toilet, she'll probably find out
02:13 PM enleth: "Oh bloody hell, another one, how am I supposed to down the brown in peace with them bloody thinking about it all the time!"
02:13 PM enleth: in immaculate RP
02:14 PM Tom_L: gloops how do ppl feel about the dutchess (sussex) over there?
02:15 PM Tom_L: gloops, she's also the only human that doesn't need a passport
02:17 PM gloops: megan markle Tom_L? mixed feelings i suppose
02:17 PM gloops: this country is probably as divided as the USA right now
02:20 PM gregcnc: linuxcnc pick n place https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTfe2ljmRpU
02:25 PM perry_j1987: neato
02:27 PM perry_j1987: gah why me
02:27 PM perry_j1987: just drilled hole with 29/64" bit and tried tapping 1/2-20 threads
02:27 PM perry_j1987: tap just slides through the hole the 29/64" bit made
02:28 PM gregcnc: oops which is the wrong size?
02:28 PM perry_j1987: who knows both taps and drillbits were from harbor freight :P
02:30 PM perry_j1987: appears the drillbit looks right 11.5mm
02:31 PM perry_j1987: tap measures 12.7 hmm
02:31 PM perry_j1987: so it drilled an oversized hole?
02:33 PM gregcnc: a lot oversize
02:33 PM perry_j1987: something was off just put it all back on the lathe
02:33 PM perry_j1987: and the hole is much bigger than the bit heh
02:33 PM perry_j1987: how... ugh
02:33 PM perry_j1987: lol
02:34 PM perry_j1987: this is what happens when i dont have that second coffee in the morning
02:34 PM gregcnc: check the sharpening
02:34 PM Tom_L: must have been HF 64ths instead of US ones
02:34 PM gregcnc: I assume you've drilled good holes with the tail stock?
02:35 PM enleth: perry_j1987: "no way this is the wrong drill bit, I know I had it in my hand the whole time!" ?
02:36 PM perry_j1987: heh
02:36 PM perry_j1987: ya i've drilled good holes. parting off the mistake now and giving it retry
02:52 PM perry_j1987: looks like bad drill bit
02:52 PM perry_j1987: just redid centerdrill and started to drill
02:53 PM perry_j1987: notice one flute cutting other was offset from the sidewall probably .5mm or so
03:01 PM perry_j1987: whats this world coming to when you cant trust harbor freight tool quality :P
03:15 PM enleth: oh but you can
03:15 PM enleth: they can be trusted to always be crap
03:16 PM perry_j1987: off to pick up bit at ace to play with today
04:05 PM Deejay: gn8
04:10 PM jym: Loetmichel: https://www.elementvape.com/ijoy-diamond-pd270-234w-tc-starter-kit
04:33 PM perry_j1987: everybody stop what your doing
04:33 PM perry_j1987: i have an anouncement
04:34 PM perry_j1987: the harbor freight drillbit/tap sucked the ace hardware drill bit / tap works
04:34 PM perry_j1987: ok carry on
04:55 PM andypugh: Oooh! Cute: https://sim.pocketnc.com
04:59 PM oliv is now known as Guest57032
05:02 PM JT-Shop: andypugh: what did you do on the rpi4 to get around the two dependencies that are no longer there? python-vte and python-gt something
05:03 PM andypugh: They seemed to stil be there, when I tried to install them.
05:04 PM JT-Shop: hmmm, that's interesting
05:05 PM * JT-Shop swaps his carpenter hat for his chef hat...
05:07 PM XXCoder: enleth: indeed.
05:08 PM * SpeedEvil wants to see steve1989mreinfo on lembas.
05:27 PM * Tom_L finished ripping out carpet and cleaning all the debri from the basement
05:28 PM Tom_L: mudded a few spots in the wall
05:29 PM perry_j1987: hmm
05:29 PM XXCoder: making progress
05:30 PM perry_j1987: missing steps on x axis or something now
05:30 PM perry_j1987: problems never cease to end
05:30 PM Tom_L: new baseboard arrives tomorrow, start putting that up
05:34 PM JT-Shop: everything dry?
05:49 PM perry_j1987: you guys need to ask if i did something stupid next time i have a problem :P
05:50 PM perry_j1987: would save me some time lol just found out i didi something stupid
05:52 PM andypugh: It seemed rude to suggest it
05:53 PM _unreal_: perry_j1987, did you do something stupid
06:01 PM perry_j1987: heh
06:01 PM perry_j1987: i had the material chucked up wrong in the chuck
06:01 PM perry_j1987: 3 jaw and i managed to grip with only two jaws and didnt catch it heh
06:02 PM perry_j1987: touched off the tool and everything then wondered why my X was way off after it spun around heh
06:02 PM andypugh: OK, the taxi to take me to the airport arrives in 5 hours, so I should log off.
06:03 PM andypugh: I am likely to not be around much for the next two weeks as I am working in Spain.
06:11 PM Tom_L: JT-Shop, yes
06:40 PM -!- #linuxcnc mode set to +v by ChanServ
07:01 PM _unreal_: andypugh come back.... come BACK....
07:01 PM XXCoder: 2 weeks
07:07 PM perry_j1987: notice how he didnt offer to take any of us with him
07:08 PM XXCoder: lol
08:29 PM skunkworks: ?
08:35 PM Tom_L: ¿
08:38 PM _unreal_: perry_j1987, well its not like he's going to spain or anything
08:38 PM _unreal_: oh wait. he is... THAT bastard
08:38 PM _unreal_: just ordered this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZXVHPT4/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
08:38 PM XXCoder: i definitely will need one once i have a shop
08:39 PM XXCoder: I want laser engraver
08:39 PM cradek: I hate to ask for such a ridiculous thing, but if anyone has chrome on windows xp, could you check my website timeguy.com and see if it's blank or gives an error or something?
08:40 PM cradek: I have a report from one random person that it's blank, and the only information I could get was he/she used xp and chrome
08:40 PM Tom_L: 7 here but it works
08:40 PM _unreal_: on windows XP?
08:40 PM cradek: thanks
08:40 PM cradek: yeah windows xp ferchristsake
08:41 PM _unreal_: OMG... get with the times
08:41 PM Tom_L: works on chrome too
08:41 PM _unreal_: at least that person could run 7
08:41 PM cradek: I would assume if it's broken, it's a ssl problem
08:41 PM _unreal_: works on win10 explorer and chrome
08:41 PM Tom_L: i could try NT4 :)
08:41 PM XXCoder: well website owner needs to test aross wide range of oses and browsers
08:41 PM XXCoder: but xp?
08:41 PM cradek: haha
08:41 PM XXCoder: isnt that now 18 years old
08:42 PM cradek: XXCoder: I don't know what I'd do about it, but I'd like to know if it's broken.
08:43 PM _unreal_: if someone is still using XP they are broke
08:44 PM _unreal_: err using XP for standard internet ussage
08:44 PM _unreal_: well 9:30 guess I should get din
08:45 PM Tom_L: i can ping in on NT4 but not display it. not surprisingly
08:45 PM Tom_L: i never use it for the web
08:48 PM Tom_L: maybe his java is outdated
08:48 PM cradek: she said it was chrome, otherwise I'd assume it's "css doesn't work at all"
08:49 PM cradek: (but does chrome really run on xp?)
08:49 PM Tom_L: i've no idea
08:49 PM cradek: I really bet it's "ssl doesn't work at all"
08:50 PM cradek: I don't need ssl for any actual reason, except some modern browsers warn if any site is not using it, which is of dubious utility IMO.
08:51 PM Tom_L: the old laptop i have i _think_ has xp on it doesn't even have a network socket
08:51 PM cradek: ha
08:51 PM Tom_L: might be win98
08:51 PM cradek: oh hey I might have an XP that has the super old VW interface software on it
08:51 PM cradek: it's a laptop that sometimes powers on if you jiggle it just right
08:52 PM Tom_L: sounds about like this one
08:52 PM cradek: I'm not about to put it online and try to install chrome on it though
08:52 PM Tom_L: i haven't booted it in years
08:52 PM Tom_L: last time it required a few boots to get it's bearings
08:53 PM cradek: thanks anyway all, this probably isn't a big deal.
08:53 PM Tom_L: question is, does it format correctly for android?
08:53 PM Tom_L: :)
08:54 PM Tom_L: i never worried about that on my page
08:58 PM _unreal_: My fav laptop wont boot any more and it was an xp system :(
09:09 PM skunkworks: cradek: seems to work here
09:10 PM XXCoder: what haopens if you try to boot it?
09:13 PM skunkworks: cradek: http://electronicsam.com/images/cradek.png
09:14 PM skunkworks: (that is a vm...)
09:16 PM skunkworks: (still have acad12 that I use...)
09:17 PM cradek: skunkworks: you're awesome, thank you
09:18 PM cradek: what browser is that?
09:19 PM cradek: it shows https and the lock icon is there...
09:20 PM skunkworks: it is chrome
09:21 PM cradek: I bet they had the good sense to do their own ssl trust chain and disregard the outdated OS information
09:24 PM skunkworks: cradek: http://electronicsam.com/images/cradek1.png
09:25 PM cradek: thank you
09:25 PM * Tom_L wonders why he tried clicking on the "OK"
09:26 PM skunkworks: No problem. Thought - hey - I have a way to test that right on this computer!
09:26 PM skunkworks: heh
09:26 PM skunkworks: do that all the time with images. expecially axis..
09:26 PM roycroft: talk to that guy pavlov, tom_l :)
09:27 PM cradek: hah I wonder what the youtube video FFFFFFFFFFFFFF is
09:28 PM roycroft: it would be all the youtube videos, would it not?
09:28 PM skunkworks: cradek: heh - I don't use those shortcuts - I just accidentally drag stuff up there every once in a while.
09:28 PM skunkworks: it is https://www.youtube.com/results?q=linuxcnc+mach&sp=CAI%253D
09:28 PM skunkworks: odd click/drag
09:29 PM skunkworks: should just get rid of that bar.
09:29 PM skunkworks: much better
09:30 PM roycroft: i finished refurbishing my x-y table today
09:31 PM roycroft: it operates fairly smoothly now, so that's good
09:31 PM roycroft: the tee-slots in my rotary table are not in line with 0 degrees and 90 degrees though
09:31 PM roycroft: so making a mounting plate for the x-y table is going to be a bit challenging
09:32 PM roycroft: doing some research, it seems that those slots not being along the standard axes is the norm, not the exception, with rotary tables
09:33 PM Tom_L: how far off is it/
09:33 PM cradek: huh I'm surprised by that
09:33 PM roycroft: about 25 degrees
09:33 PM roycroft: and it's a 6" table, so four t-slots
09:33 PM roycroft: i think 8" is when they commonly start having six t-slots
09:34 PM roycroft: the x-y table is quite a bit bigger than the rotary table, so it's going to be an interesting looking setup when i'm done
09:34 PM roycroft: and i'm not sure i'll have enough height after i set it all up to mount a drill chuck in the spindle
09:34 PM roycroft: but i'll be able to mount a collet and end mill, which is all i need
09:36 PM roycroft: i was going to make a bunch of wooden handles this weekend
09:36 PM roycroft: instead i spent most of the weekend working on the x-y table and rotary table so that i can make the jigs for making the handles
09:37 PM roycroft: oh well, it's good stuff to have done - it will be ready for the next time
09:37 PM roycroft: and i certainly could have made the jigs freehand, but i wanted the experience with the rotary table - i've never used one before
09:37 PM roycroft: so this was my excuse
09:39 PM roycroft: i'm sure some here might recommend that i cnc mill the parts, and in the future i may do so, but i still firmly believe in learning how to machine manually before starting to cnc machine everything
11:02 PM Wolf__: I dont think my rotary table has the slots on 0 either
11:18 PM roycroft: it appears most don't
11:42 PM _unreal_: skunkworks, it powers on but no one is home
