01:51 AM Deejay: moin
04:36 AM net|: flyback, they probably poured the wings with reinforcement in them otherwise a barrel roll would probably rip the wings off
04:37 AM net|: nm thought it was made out of foam
04:37 AM XXCoder: smart
04:37 AM XXCoder: low light test before risk
04:38 AM XXCoder: *height
04:54 AM Tom_L: morning
04:55 AM XXCoder: yo
05:16 AM jthornton: morning
05:17 AM XXCoder: hey jt
05:17 AM XXCoder: I asked guy and he said it was $30 tube. ouch gonna figure how to make a tube
05:20 AM jthornton: got 2 more strawberry plants germinated during the night up to 15 now... tiny little things
05:20 AM jthornton: chicken door did not go all the way down last night, I wonder if the motor is dirty
06:12 AM jthornton: and it didn't go up at all this morning
06:13 AM XXCoder: odd maybe check motor yeah
06:38 AM jthornton: yea chickens are very dusty so I'm guessing the commutator is dirty
06:42 AM beachbumpete1: Good Morning LinuxCNC junkies :)
06:42 AM XXCoder: hey bum
06:42 AM XXCoder: found a home yet? ;)
06:42 AM XXCoder: jthornton: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-1Pcs-Transparent-Acrylic-Plexiglass-Lucite-Tube-50mm-OD-43-75mm-ID-300mm-Length-For-Tool/32988612447.html
06:43 AM XXCoder: it may be bit big but very cheap
06:43 AM XXCoder: 45mm ones is expensive for some reason
06:43 AM XXCoder: 17 bucks for 150mm which means I'd need 3.
06:44 AM jthornton: does it need a cover to function?
06:44 AM XXCoder: yes and no
06:44 AM XXCoder: bare electrics would work
06:44 AM XXCoder: but its not in usable form
06:44 AM XXCoder: ends attach to tube, not extrude form
06:46 AM * Loetmichel just threw a small trantrum. That cant be THAT hard to get the Odometer reading off OBD2 on a BMW 525i E39? my display in the dash is damaged, unreadable... Torque pro cant do it... is there an android app that can with an EL 327?
06:47 AM beachbumpete1: have I found a home yet? man I have been living in our home for a couple years now LOL
06:47 AM XXCoder: i know, was kidding based on nick of bum ;)
06:47 AM beachbumpete1: ah gotcha
06:48 AM beachbumpete1: Still making parts with my VMC retrofit for going on 8 years now I think it is... :)
06:49 AM jthornton: my .22 gamo is shooting some crazy big groups, not sure what to think about that
06:49 AM beachbumpete1: Ah so you did not get the Weirauch then
06:49 AM jthornton: put a better scope on it so I can actually see the target
06:49 AM jthornton: not yet lol lost the link
06:49 AM beachbumpete1: I finally bought mine have had it a couple weeks now.
06:50 AM beachbumpete1: Its amazing as usual. I machined my own scope riser for it just gotta send it out for anodize with a batch here soon.
06:51 AM jthornton: got a photo of it?
06:51 AM beachbumpete1: I need to buy another big scope for this one I put my Aeon 10-50x60 on it temporarily
06:52 AM beachbumpete1: I dunno I can take one when I get home today if I remember.
06:53 AM beachbumpete1: as I said before I have been heavily into precision airguns for many years and this is by most accounts and certainly my own one of two of the finest spring piston rifles available anywhere for any price. The other being the Air Arms TX200. Having owned several of both I prefer the HW97.
06:54 AM beachbumpete1: There is a new Walther LGU that is also supposed to be fantastic but I have not tried one yet.
06:57 AM beachbumpete1: Gamo are normally decent rifles however
06:58 AM beachbumpete1: they are higher powered so sometimes they are difficult to shoot consistently
06:58 AM jthornton: yea my .177 is dead on
06:58 AM jthornton: that might be the problem, I'm trying different ways to hold the gun when shooting
06:58 AM jthornton: it has a pretty big recoil
06:59 AM beachbumpete1: https://www.krale.shop/en/weihrauch-hw97-k.html
07:00 AM beachbumpete1: also if it is new sometimes it can take many hundreds of rounds to settle down especially if it is dieseling with excess lubricants in the compression chamber
07:01 AM jthornton: that's way cheaper than pyramyd air
07:01 AM beachbumpete1: yup sure as hell is...
07:02 AM beachbumpete1: it is by far the cheapest I have ever bought one
07:02 AM jthornton: are they in the US?
07:02 AM beachbumpete1: no they are in the netherlands or something..
07:02 AM beachbumpete1: it took under a week to get to me.
07:02 AM beachbumpete1: no issues at all.
07:02 AM beachbumpete1: its kind of a best kept secret in the airgun community
07:03 AM beachbumpete1: lots of people buy from there because of the great prices.
07:04 AM beachbumpete1: They also sell the Walther LGU for a good price.
07:04 AM beachbumpete1: unfortunately the US airgun importers have been jacking up the prices a lot over the years
07:06 AM jthornton: thanks for the link, I might have to try one
07:06 AM jthornton: you said IIRC to get .177 caliber?
07:07 AM Loetmichel: jthornton: crazy groups is when you shoot with an uzi on 50m and have a "flower" with 5 petals on the paper target :-)
07:09 AM beachbumpete1: yes I highly recommend getting the .177 and I also highly recommend getting the 12ftlbs version. They are much more docile and shoot more consistenly because of this.
07:10 AM beachbumpete1: If you can shoot a Gamo well you will most likely do amazing things with an HW-97. Most good shooters can produce sub half inch groups at 50 yards with them. We used to shoot paintballs at 70 yards with my old one setup in a target stock and with a qualtiy high mag scope.
07:11 AM jthornton: what pellets do you shoot?
07:11 AM beachbumpete1: Oh well good luck. Take a few minutes and check all the stock screws are tight on your gamo. sometimes they rattle loose causing groups to move around.
07:12 AM jthornton: thanks didn't think of that
07:13 AM beachbumpete1: I typically shoot JSB diablo exacts or H&N Field target Trophy pellets. Also the big box Crosman Premier 7.9 grain pellets you order online are good in some rifles. NOT the ones they sell in walmart or local stores. There is a difference.
07:13 AM beachbumpete1: The ones that come in tins at walmart are of lesser quality for some reason.
07:14 AM jthornton: price usually
07:14 AM beachbumpete1: yeah maybe but it is often cheaper to buy online anyway.
07:15 AM beachbumpete1: The Premiers come in a brown cardboard box of 1250 or so I think it is. available from most of the larger airgun online dealers.
07:15 AM beachbumpete1: Good luck man gotta get some work done here.
07:15 AM jthornton: ok thanks
07:27 AM XXCoder: jthornton: just ordered 2 50mm od tubes :)
07:27 AM XXCoder: they are 300mm each so 2 should be long enough, just small amounbt cut off
07:29 AM XXCoder: just to figure how to strunk ends by .4mm or so so ends dont fall inside
07:53 AM Loetmichel: soo, configured the app as much as possible... just the ODO is still missing :-( -> http://www.cyrom.org/palbum/main.php?g2_itemId=17364
09:00 AM jthornton: XXCoder: motor was dirty, sprayed contact cleaner in and it went back to working
09:01 AM extorr is now known as extor
09:12 AM Loetmichel: btw: NOTE TO SELF: Using a dremel with a 2 flute mill bit "freehand" to do some plastic surgery: BAD idea... it tends to catch and fly right into your fingers... *Putting a bandaid on* MAAAAN does that bleed a lot... :-(
09:26 AM The_Ball: :(
09:40 AM Lcvette: does linuxcnc support G68 G69?
09:41 AM Loetmichel: *GIGGLE* I just noticed: the "200pcs band-aids industrial pack" i bought 2 years ago for the company has 2 strips left... seems we have a high consumption on that stuff here :-)
10:00 AM Lee_: Lcvette, doesn't appear to -- http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/gcode/g-code.html although I don't know how up to date that page is
10:00 AM Lcvette: Lee_: i found a small blurb from 2009 it looks like they build it into G10
10:01 AM Lcvette: so you can set a WCO with a rotation
10:03 AM Lcvette: G10 L2 P- <axes R->
10:52 AM JT-Shop: support chat window "we are experiencing high volumes and will be with you as soon as we can..."
10:52 AM JT-Shop: that ain't good
11:21 AM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2019-05-08_12-16-28.png (109KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/PpmBFuHCMCJfkFrvLCJlVsmB >
11:21 AM Lcvette: \o/
11:21 AM Lcvette: victory
11:21 AM jym: JT-ShopFor what SW ?
11:22 AM JT-Shop: my web site host
11:23 AM jym: ah
01:00 PM gregcnc: jym, finally. what actually worked was a simple copy and paste of all files
01:13 PM Jymmm: gregcnc Well, that sucks. The image should have worked, but I dont use clonezilla
01:14 PM gregcnc: I didn't know copy and paste would work for w98, stumbled across a post that mentioned it
01:25 PM Rab: gregcnc, I should have mentioned that yesterday. It's a little more difficult to copy a running system, but drag-and-drop between two secondary drives works fine.
01:25 PM Rab: You do need to show hidden files first.
01:28 PM Rab: I had a great little Partition Magic boot disk which made cloning easy, 20 years ago. Now I believe there are a couple of good Linux-based live images for that, Clonezilla being one.
01:39 PM gregcnc: I use a linuxcnc live disc, and yes the hidden files came to light at some point even though it looked like they were there
01:40 PM gregcnc: ugh not linuxcnc, but some linux boot disc thing
01:41 PM Rab: gregcnc, ahh, I meant copy/paste *using* W98, which doesn't show hidden files by default. Yeah, copying everything between filesystems with Linux should work fine.
01:43 PM Rab: I believe I have successfully done that with NT-based systems as well, i.e. W2K and XP. But there is a greater chance of complication.
01:47 PM gregcnc: dumbest thing was i created a w98se boot disk with xcopy, but none of the required switched worked... /h, i dunno
01:50 PM miss0r2: I've made that work a few times with windows NT 3.5 and 4.0
01:51 PM miss0r2: But in both cases I managed to wreck the MBR and had to install lilo to hanle to startup
02:44 PM Tom_L: gregcnc, knoppix?
02:45 PM Tom_L: miss0r2, even with fdisk /mbr ?
03:06 PM XXCoder: JT-Shop: great :)
03:12 PM gregcnc: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parted_Magic
03:12 PM gregcnc: it's not even free anymore it looks like
03:25 PM Deejay: gn8
03:46 PM Loetmichel: MUAHAHA... just told my wife about the blunder with dremel and finger today... her comment: "Maybe i should make you a tshirt with some blood splatter on it and a writing underneath: "'tis but a scratch, had worse!"" Bonus points for recognizing the movie its from. ;)
03:48 PM DaViruz: holy grail
03:49 PM DaViruz: i'd buy that tshirt.. :)
04:07 PM Lee_: I don't think you need to have the shirt pre-splattered
04:08 PM Loetmichel: Lee_: yes, i do
04:08 PM Loetmichel: blood gets dark and washes out
04:08 PM Loetmichel: so it needs to be paint to be permanent ;)
04:09 PM Loetmichel: nut you are right, the frequency my hands/fingers get cut at the company...
04:09 PM Loetmichel: lets quote myself here:
04:09 PM Loetmichel: [16:37] <Loetmichel> *GIGGLE* I just noticed: the "200pcs band-aids industrial pack" i bought 2 years ago for the company has 2 strips left... seems we have a high consumption on that stuff here :-)
04:10 PM Loetmichel: ... and of those probanly 80% were sticked on me for various reasons ;)
04:10 PM Loetmichel: i AM a bit careless at times ;)
04:11 PM Tom_L: OSHA would have a hay day with just you alone there
04:11 PM Lee_: Do you believe your company has higher than average mandatory safety meetings and trainings? If so, have you considered why that is?
04:12 PM Lee_: Maybe he's an undercover OSHA agent sent in to see how wreckless the company will allow its employees to be.
04:12 PM Loetmichel: Lee_: safety trainings?
04:12 PM Loetmichel: never had a single one.
04:12 PM Loetmichel: and i am there as the production manager now for more than 10 years
04:12 PM Loetmichel: s/more/close to
04:39 PM _unreal_: Loetmichel, a bit? careless??
04:56 PM Tom_L: mmm, turnpike closed due to flooding going to OK
05:01 PM jym: Loetmichel's safety training is stinking his fingers across mains lines and determining if it's 110/220/440 and 50 or 60 hz
05:02 PM jym: Tom_L: Jersey?
05:08 PM Tom_L: I35 S
05:09 PM Tom_L: & Hwy 81 & Hwy 77 all running NS
05:10 PM Tom_L: https://www.ksn.com/news/local/video-shows-flooding-that-has-closed-the-kansas-turnpike-south-of-wichita/1989442532
05:16 PM Tom_L: dunno where they're routing traffic NS thru KS now
05:17 PM jym: Tom_L: you alright where your at?
05:17 PM Tom_L: so far
05:17 PM jym: Tom_L: Got Boat?
05:17 PM Tom_L: i haven't looked at the river but we have a floodway
05:17 PM Tom_L: i've only seen it overflow once
05:18 PM jym: and when it has???
05:18 PM Tom_L: it's all south of us that have problems
05:18 PM Tom_L: wasn't that severe by me but south of town always floods
05:18 PM jym: how deep?
05:18 PM Tom_L: just not this bad
05:19 PM jym: Just remember, 10,000 2L soda bottle tied together float
05:20 PM Tom_L: so does one
05:20 PM jym: But you can grow your own trees on a bottle island
05:20 PM Tom_L: we have the floodway, it's doubtful the town would flood
05:20 PM Tom_L: they can direct it where needed
05:20 PM Tom_L: or not needed
05:21 PM Tom_L: it's all the surrounding smaller towns that get it
05:21 PM Tom_L: more rain expected
05:59 PM jthornton: looks like mostly a chance for rain here
06:01 PM * jthornton has been burning limbs all day... took a while to just get a fire started everything is so damp
06:09 PM Tom_L: not sure you could start a fire here right now
06:10 PM jthornton: I think the forest service is missing a sign for their fire danger "IMPOSSIBLE"
06:11 PM Tom_L: https://www.kansascity.com/latest-news/article230118149.html
06:11 PM Tom_L: ligntening strike on tarmac puts a hole in it
06:12 PM Tom_L: i wonder if it hit a ground point
06:13 PM jthornton: I'm guessing it hit a tie down ring
06:13 PM jthornton: pretty impressive
06:13 PM Tom_L: probably had to clean inside that plane sitting there
06:13 PM jthornton: was someone in it?
06:14 PM Tom_L: i dunno
06:14 PM Tom_L: airport about 50mi N of here
06:17 PM jym: Damn, that page loaded a shitton of crap int he background
06:18 PM Tom_L: https://www.kansas.com/news/weather/article230118174.html
06:18 PM Tom_L: that shows pics of it afterward
07:00 PM jthornton: hmm radar shows some rain just to the west of us
