02:04 AM Deejay: moin
02:46 AM Contract_Pilot: Evening
02:47 AM pink_vampire: hi
02:49 AM Contract_Pilot: My pick up another tig in the morning blown IGBT's lol
02:50 AM Contract_Pilot: Pink them like anderson connectors?
03:17 AM pink_vampire: not sure what do you mean
03:17 AM pink_vampire: Contract_Pilot:
03:18 AM pink_vampire: how do i calculate the "scale" value for rotary axis
03:18 AM pink_vampire: the encoder is 24576 lines per rev
03:20 AM Contract_Pilot: Humm been a while lol.
03:47 AM pink_vampire: Im getting "joint 5 following error"
03:54 AM miss0r2: 'ello
04:04 AM pink_vampire: hi miss0r2
04:04 AM miss0r2: hello pink_vampire
04:04 AM pink_vampire: the servo spindle is working again
04:05 AM pink_vampire: but i'm getting "joint 5 following error"
04:05 AM pink_vampire: do you know how to configure the acceleration?
04:05 AM miss0r2: phone 2 secs
04:07 AM pink_vampire: miss0r2: ok thanks
04:13 AM miss0r2: alright... damn clients
04:13 AM miss0r2: :)
04:13 AM miss0r2: ahh, you are accelerating too fast :)
04:14 AM miss0r2: How are you driving the spindle?
04:14 AM miss0r2: pink_vampire: ^
04:14 AM pink_vampire: i have the max_acceleration on 100
04:14 AM pink_vampire: 320X > motor with 8192ppr> 1:3 belt
04:15 AM miss0r2: 100 rpm/sec doesn't sounds like alot
04:15 AM miss0r2: have you told linuxcnc how many ppr the motor has?
04:15 AM miss0r2: well. that number x three
04:16 AM pink_vampire: no, the encoder go in to the G320x
04:16 AM pink_vampire: one sec, i will take a pic of the ini
04:18 AM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/EdQSmM1.png < axis_5
04:18 AM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/syc5y0v.png < the error
04:20 AM miss0r2: have you tuned it?
04:21 AM pink_vampire: what do you mean by " tuned it"
04:21 AM miss0r2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k3cR2d8dsM
04:22 AM pink_vampire: yes, i did that
04:22 AM miss0r2: it needs to know what is happending with the encoder ect
04:22 AM miss0r2: hmm
04:22 AM pink_vampire: it is run fine with arduino
04:23 AM miss0r2: what hardware are you connecting to it with? 320 < ??? < PC
04:23 AM pink_vampire: just with lpt
04:24 AM pink_vampire: what "STEPGEN_MAXACCEL" mean?
04:24 AM miss0r2: step generator maximum acceleration
04:24 AM miss0r2: try setting your ferror to 0.5
04:25 AM pink_vampire: i want to get it to at least 200 rpm
04:26 AM miss0r2: the stepgen_maxaccel is how fast it accelerates
04:27 AM miss0r2: STEPGEN_MAXACCEL = 21.0 - Acceleration limit for the step generator. This should be 1% to 10% larger than the axis MAX_ACCELERATION. This value improves the tuning of stepgen’s "position loop". If you have added backlash compensation to an axis then this should be 1.5 to 2 times greater than MAX_ACCELERATION.
04:27 AM pink_vampire: so i need to make the STEPGEN_MAXACCEL lower?
04:28 AM miss0r2: meh.. Lets try with ferror 0.5
04:28 AM miss0r2: FERROR = 0.5
04:29 AM pink_vampire: i just add some numbers in the ini for the C axis
04:29 AM pink_vampire: i have no idea what they do
04:30 AM miss0r2: Theres something that does not add up here.
04:30 AM miss0r2: the max_valocity seems odly low to me
04:30 AM pink_vampire: the goal is to get a decent speed for tapping and indexing
04:31 AM pink_vampire: so 200 rpm will be fine
04:31 AM miss0r2: Indeed. Theres just something that is pussling me here
04:31 AM miss0r2: (its been a while since I did this last)
04:31 AM pink_vampire: what settings do you think will work for 200 rpm?
04:32 AM miss0r2: hmm. Let me see a copy of your hal file
04:33 AM pink_vampire: it can accelerate in to 200 rpm in almost no time, but lets say to get to the speed of 200 rpm in 1 sec
04:33 AM pink_vampire: 200rpm = 72000 deg/min
04:34 AM miss0r2: yeah. hang on - I'm googeling like a mad man, trying to remember this
04:35 AM pink_vampire: heh lol
04:35 AM XXCoder: heys
04:35 AM miss0r2: What configurations have you done in your hal to make this work?
04:35 AM miss0r2: hello XXCoder
04:37 AM pink_vampire: i just add one more axis
04:37 AM pink_vampire: it is not a spindle, it is just an extra axis
04:38 AM miss0r2: this is what is messing with me :)
04:38 AM miss0r2: I want it to be a spindle - I don't know if you can run a spindle as an axis like that
04:39 AM pink_vampire: it is not a spindle
04:39 AM pink_vampire: it is like an indexer
04:39 AM miss0r2: but with continues rotation...
04:40 AM x2s: oh, nice, there's a 2.7-buster branch
04:40 AM miss0r2: brb
04:40 AM pink_vampire: miss0r2: don't worry about it
04:40 AM pink_vampire: im fine with it as indexer
04:41 AM jthornton: morning
04:41 AM pink_vampire: hi jthornton
04:41 AM XXCoder: morning
04:41 AM pink_vampire: hi XXCoder
04:48 AM miss0r2: back
04:49 AM miss0r2: pink_vampire: I have to run. Clients are riding me like a racing horse at the moment.
04:49 AM miss0r2: I will be back on later tonight - perhaps I can help you there
04:49 AM pink_vampire: ok
04:49 AM XXCoder: better than other kind of riding lol
04:49 AM miss0r2: XXCoder: Depends on the client ;)
04:49 AM XXCoder: lol true
04:49 AM miss0r2: But in this line of work, its mostly overweight men... so nah
04:50 AM miss0r2: Anyway, I have to run. see you around
04:50 AM pink_vampire: thanks
04:50 AM pink_vampire: good luck with work you have to do
04:50 AM XXCoder: man pink
04:51 AM XXCoder: work machine got clogged so hardcore with just one part lol
04:51 AM pink_vampire: ?
04:51 AM XXCoder: had to dig chips out or it'd flood and spill coolant all over
04:52 AM pink_vampire: lockout the machine!!!!!
04:52 AM XXCoder: nah didnt actually enter machine totally. and yeah heard of death of maintance guy that way. ouch!
04:53 AM Loetmichel: Gnihihi... indeed an optimist: https://www.isnichwahr.de/i273268-optimistisch-bis-zuletzt.html
04:55 AM XXCoder: slightly short
04:55 AM Loetmichel: just a few months
05:01 AM XXCoder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfK5cGFxDOk oh someone has pocketnc lol
05:01 AM XXCoder: so expensive for tiny machine
05:03 AM pink_vampire: i think he go it
05:04 AM pink_vampire: I almost got a pocket nc
05:04 AM XXCoder: yeah? why decided against it?
05:05 AM pink_vampire: it is all the time give me the joint error in 9000 deg/min
05:06 AM pink_vampire: XXCoder: it is super cool machine nut super small, and it is ONLY good gor 5 axis machining, the g0704, is more universal
05:06 AM pink_vampire: the 17" om the x axis save me ton of times
05:10 AM XXCoder: cool
05:16 AM XXCoder: that thing is crazy lol
05:29 AM Tom_L: morning
05:29 AM XXCoder: yo
05:31 AM XXCoder: love the color/black/white effect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dya9AqNSn2Q
05:53 AM pink_vampire: XXCoder: the amount of wast is amazing
05:53 AM XXCoder: yeah
05:54 AM XXCoder: it was useless peice of wood though for boards etc
05:54 AM jthornton: I use it to start the fire in my heater
05:54 AM XXCoder: base of tree
09:49 AM x2s: seb_kuzminsky: Hi. I've seen that you've created a 2.7-buster branch. But Debian doesn't provide python-gtksourceview2 and python-vte. Do you have an idea how to get around this?
10:29 AM x2s: seb_kuzminsky: also I had to change those lines: http://paste.debian.net/hidden/bce00fd0/
10:55 AM x2s: oh, well, the jitter with this mainboard is a bit high. Lucky me, I've got several to work with.
12:20 PM fragalot: 'sup
12:34 PM Tom_L: quiet friday it seems
01:28 PM Jymmm: If you have a Honda or Accura, and you ever have a NO START, STALL, or INTERMITTENT issue, particularrly in a very hot or very cold condition, check (repair) the MAIN RELAY (located under the dash, either left or right side). Just remove from housing and reflow all the solder joints and plug back in.
01:32 PM gloops: whatever happened to Honda...
01:38 PM Jymmm: gloops: They seem to just use this MAIN RELAY in everything they produce for the last 20+ years, even today it seems
01:39 PM Jymmm: Just trying to save everyone some grief and its a stupidly simple fix... if you are aware of it.
02:16 PM Jymmm: Is there anything I need to be aware of in rotating the tee 180 degrees once I loosen the flex line??? https://i.imgur.com/d7d3i4y.jpg
02:20 PM Jymmm: I do have some reactorseal fwiw
02:27 PM cradek: you can reuse those parts, take it all apart, use a wire brush to clean all that old goop off the threads, then brush on new goop and put it back together
02:27 PM cradek: you can't just rotate it and expect it to still seal
02:27 PM cradek: (why is the T there and what are you doing?)
02:29 PM Jymmm: It used to goto a propane fireplace that no longer exists. I'm tapping into the big 250 gallon propane tank (after regulator) using this I've made up... https://i.imgur.com/DYASkL5.jpg
02:29 PM cradek: check it all with that soapy juice that comes in the jar with the brush afterward
02:30 PM Jymmm: Yeah, I have the soapy suds =)
02:30 PM cradek: cool, but please don't die, we like having you here
02:31 PM Jymmm: Lol, awww, thank you, I'll try not to =)
02:32 PM Jymmm: cradek: Can I reuse the flex line once I've cleaned it up? I've heard that it's better ro replace than reuse, but I'm 60 miles from the hardware store to get another one.
02:32 PM cradek: I've heard the same...
02:33 PM cradek: it looks like a verrry old style
02:34 PM Jymmm: Yeah, it probably is.
02:34 PM cradek: I didn't know they used flexes outdoors, I thought just at appliances that aren't permanently affixed
02:35 PM Jymmm: cradek: This is "what they call" permanently fixed mobile home. So I suppose it's just a earthquake thing
02:36 PM cradek: cool - well don't mistake me for an expert especially in earthquakeland
02:38 PM Jymmm: No worries, I just wasn't sure abotu the whole flex line thing, though I have seen a LOT of them that look brand new thrown away in the trash when I have been harvesting broken appliances from the dumpster for parts =)
02:38 PM Jymmm: might be a CYA thing too
02:39 PM cradek: well if they flex they surely get weaker over time, and they're like $30. that's the cheapest insurance there is.
02:39 PM Jymmm: cradek: You got your bus (or was that lepler) done?
02:40 PM cradek: it's been done for many years
02:40 PM Jymmm: Cheap passive insurenace for sure=)
02:40 PM cradek: 2 years ago I did all new brakes (including calipers) and tires so it's trustworthy now
02:40 PM cradek: can't wait to use it this year
02:41 PM Jymmm: cradek: Here's a "new" one for you... https://i.imgur.com/eQ1ZZh0.png
02:41 PM Jymmm: I think you can get it for free too ;)
02:41 PM cradek: looks like it's been on fire a few too many times...
02:42 PM Jymmm: cradek: The whole area was on fire, 150,000 acres
02:42 PM Jymmm: https://i.imgur.com/eHbSDr4.png
03:37 PM XXCoder: Jymmm: lol maybe if recently burned but its rusting hulk now
03:37 PM XXCoder: if I had money, will, oppounty, and time, i might do one for fun
03:53 PM Deejay: gn8
03:54 PM gloops: @toryboypierce
03:54 PM gloops: latest manufacturing figures showing steepest fall in manufacturing in Eurozone in 6 years. what a relief we're leaving
03:58 PM Jymmm: XXCoder: =)
03:59 PM Jymmm: cradek: Well, Tested the generator on the hose, it works on high pressure =)
04:01 PM gloops: EU diesel regulations have seen a 10% drop in german car output, and similar in the UK and France
04:01 PM gloops: pretty stupid thing to do
04:02 PM Jymmm: DID YOU KNOW... You can run a generator for 60 seconds on a 1/4" ID 50ft hose worth of propane =)
04:02 PM Jymmm: gloops: drop in... performance? Sales?
04:02 PM gloops: sales - hence manufacturing
04:03 PM Jymmm: whats the new regulations now?
04:03 PM gloops: im not exactly but diesels are no longer cheap to run
04:04 PM gloops: not sure exactly
04:05 PM gloops: ahh well, i just bought an old ford petrol
04:05 PM Jymmm: cost of diesel?
04:06 PM gloops: road tax, levies on new diesel engines, various things kicked in
04:07 PM gloops: i ought to check the regs really lol, but diesels arent so attractive anymore
04:07 PM XXCoder: for larger stuff I'd go diesel anyway
04:07 PM gloops: nissan cancelled x-trail production in the UK - most 4wd are diesel
04:07 PM XXCoder: engine life, expecially if its to be traveling all time
04:09 PM gloops: better for towing
04:09 PM gloops: mpg usually better
04:10 PM XXCoder: also better for... coal rolling if your iq is like room temperate in F
04:10 PM XXCoder: or maybe more like C lol
04:10 PM XXCoder: acciently re-discovered https://www.belmontmetals.com/product-category/low-melting-fusible-alloys/
04:11 PM gloops: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/european-commissioner-diesel-cars-are-finished
04:11 PM XXCoder: hopefully whoeevr I chatted with about low temp alloys see this lol
04:11 PM gloops: i saved that page - still havent melted any metal though
04:11 PM XXCoder: oh good :)
04:12 PM XXCoder: should add exceptions
04:12 PM XXCoder: but very few
04:12 PM XXCoder: like tow trucks
04:13 PM gloops: i suppose society needs that kick to get off fossil fuels, people will keep buying diesels while theyre cheap - so make them not cheap, get everyone on electric
04:14 PM XXCoder: im still waiting for elio :(
04:14 PM XXCoder: 84 mph daily commute car
04:14 PM gloops: yeah theyre getting better
04:14 PM XXCoder: https://www.eliomotors.com/
04:15 PM gloops: familiar shape
04:17 PM gloops: not that familiar really lol https://mothership.sg/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Untitled-collage-16.jpg
04:17 PM XXCoder: lol
04:18 PM XXCoder: i'd never buy that without rag top
04:18 PM XXCoder: aternate exit lol
04:19 PM gloops: https://www.designboom.com/technology/nobe-100-electric-car-vintage-look-06-01-2018/
04:19 PM gloops: vintage look is popular
04:20 PM XXCoder: 2 seater, in side heh bit crowded I bet rear seat'd be popular.
04:20 PM XXCoder: rear seats barely enough for one american ;)
04:22 PM gloops: built in estonia, the EV’s creators have designed the nobe as an upgradeable and recyclable alternative to disposable cars that instantly start decreasing in value and are scrapped.
04:23 PM gloops: well meaning, but people would rather have a comfortable seat
04:23 PM XXCoder: elio is just front and rear. deaf-hostile design but if its for commute whatever
06:08 PM jthornton: XXCoder: the wifes honda insight gets 55mpg
06:10 PM jthornton: but it ain't $8k like the elio
06:10 PM XXCoder: yrah
06:11 PM jthornton: any news from the elio?
06:12 PM XXCoder: not a lot since great news on tranmission
06:12 PM jthornton: what was that?
06:12 PM XXCoder: they contracted one compamny for that lemme find blog entry
06:14 PM XXCoder: https://www.eliomotors.com/a-powertrain-press-release/
06:14 PM XXCoder: "The new powertrain will push the Elio’s performance specifications far beyond prior consumer expectations. The engine should offer nearly a 100% increase in horsepower rating when compared to initial Elio prototype vehicles."
06:15 PM XXCoder: so it'd be quite powerful for its size.
06:18 PM jthornton: cool
06:19 PM XXCoder: it'd be popular if it drove like fncy cars but high mpg
06:20 PM jthornton: for a commuter it will be popular if the seat is comfortable lol
06:20 PM XXCoder: it is!
06:20 PM XXCoder: I sat in p3
06:21 PM jthornton: really? wow that's cool
06:21 PM XXCoder: funny thing i didnt remember about it for a bit even after seeing elio pictures
06:21 PM XXCoder: but evenually i did
06:22 PM XXCoder: http://media.mlive.com/grandrapidspress/photo/2013/06/13001255-mmmain.jpg
06:22 PM jthornton: T-2 for chicken door to close
06:24 PM jthornton: yea I'm 0.2GB ahead in data today lol
06:26 PM jthornton: it just amazes me that chickens from birth can sort out what they need to do so long as they find food and water
06:26 PM jthornton: goodnight
06:27 PM XXCoder: inbuilt knowledge can be great but then less flexiability
07:31 PM pink_vampire: hi all
07:37 PM XXCoder: wb
07:38 PM pink_vampire: the irc got disconnected
07:38 PM pink_vampire: did you saw the panel?
07:38 PM XXCoder: the new fuse connectors? yeah
07:39 PM pink_vampire: no
07:39 PM pink_vampire: the g320x
07:39 PM pink_vampire: and the return energy dump
07:39 PM XXCoder: hmm nope then :)
07:41 PM pink_vampire: one sec i will send updated pic
07:44 PM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/c2hldjS.png
07:44 PM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/Lpl8ztZ.png
07:44 PM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/a1riBrl.png
07:44 PM XXCoder: very neat wiring!
07:44 PM XXCoder: rat has much sadness, no nest! lol
07:47 PM pink_vampire: now i need to make a bracket for a 8 stages cam switch
07:50 PM XXCoder: 8 stages cam switch?
07:52 PM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/W06n1J1.png
07:52 PM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/4s0q14f.png
07:53 PM XXCoder: i see 1 and 2 but not sure what it does? does it change setting for say speed vs torque or something?
08:01 PM pink_vampire: switch between slow servo controller to just dc controller
08:08 PM SpeedEvil is now known as Guest19394
08:18 PM skunkworks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Vds3e5dQbk
08:18 PM pink_vampire: nice
08:20 PM pink_vampire: I'm start thinking that the problem that i have with my C axis is because of the LPT
08:21 PM skunkworks: what problem
08:21 PM pink_vampire: joint follow error
08:21 PM skunkworks: open loop?
08:21 PM pink_vampire: https://i.imgur.com/syc5y0v.png
08:21 PM pink_vampire: yes, just step and direction
08:22 PM skunkworks: joint following error on an open loop system is most likely a configuration issue..
08:24 PM pcw_home: yeah on a parallel port system it pretty much has to be a configuration error
08:24 PM skunkworks: you are either to go too fast for the base period - or you have no headroom in the stepgen..
08:25 PM pink_vampire: i cant get more then 43000 deg/min
08:26 PM pink_vampire: MAX_VELOCITY = 717.0 MAX_ACCELERATION = 500.0 STEPGEN_MAXACCEL = 550.0 SCALE = 13.653333333333332
08:26 PM pink_vampire: those are the settings that work the best
08:26 PM pink_vampire: it give me 116 rpm top speed
08:27 PM pink_vampire: with 4915.5 lines per rev
08:27 PM skunkworks: what is your base period?
08:28 PM pcw_home: and what is your stepgen maxvel setting
08:28 PM pcw_home: bad cop good cop...
08:28 PM pink_vampire: not sure what is "base period?'
08:29 PM pink_vampire: this is he ini file
08:29 PM pink_vampire: https://paste.debian.net/1070999/
08:30 PM skunkworks: BASE_PERIOD = 100000
08:30 PM pink_vampire: ohh i see now
08:31 PM pink_vampire: what dose it mean?
08:31 PM skunkworks: that is 10k max step rate - if using the printer port reset feature
08:31 PM skunkworks: (if I did the math right)
08:31 PM pink_vampire: what is the math?
08:32 PM skunkworks: that is in ns
08:32 PM pink_vampire: what the "BASE_PERIOD" determent?
08:33 PM skunkworks: so .0001 seconds 1/.0001 is 10khz
08:33 PM skunkworks: that is how often the stepgen is called. so the fasted step rate possible
08:33 PM skunkworks: what kind of latency does your system have?
08:34 PM pink_vampire: i have no idea
08:34 PM skunkworks: run the latency-test from the cnc menu.
08:35 PM pink_vampire: i think there is a test for it
08:35 PM skunkworks: (without linuxcnc running(
08:35 PM skunkworks: let it run for 15+ minutes
08:36 PM pink_vampire: ok
08:36 PM pink_vampire: the max interval (ns) for the base thread is 30741
08:38 PM skunkworks: let it run for a while
08:38 PM skunkworks: run some youtube videos and such
08:38 PM skunkworks: tax the system
08:38 PM pink_vampire: this is intel Q9300 with nvidia 9400gt 1gb and 4gb ram
08:39 PM pink_vampire: it is never run stuff other then linx cnc
08:39 PM pink_vampire: there is no internet connection to the machine
08:40 PM skunkworks: ok
08:40 PM pink_vampire: i'm open stuff like gimp and other programs
08:43 PM skunkworks: with that latency - I would try 50000 base period.
08:43 PM skunkworks: that would give you 2X the step rate...
08:44 PM pink_vampire: it got now to 31985
08:44 PM pcw_home: 717 degrees/min * 13.65 steps/degree is ~9800 steps/sec so you are running out of basethread headroom
08:45 PM pink_vampire: meas card will help me in that case?
08:45 PM pcw_home: setting the base thread to 50000 should get you going also
08:46 PM pink_vampire: ok
08:46 PM pink_vampire: i'm changing it to 50000
08:47 PM pink_vampire: what settings to put in the C axis?
08:51 PM skunkworks: if that was working without a following error - double the velocity
08:52 PM skunkworks: 1434
08:53 PM pink_vampire: ok i did,
08:53 PM pink_vampire: i test it now
08:55 PM pink_vampire: the BASE_PERIOD is per axis? or it is shared?
08:56 PM infornography: surely this is the future
08:57 PM pink_vampire: infornography: what do you mean?
08:59 PM pink_vampire: skunkworks: 1434 work !! the top speed now is 239 rpm!
08:59 PM infornography: in this channel we can talk about stuff that sounds like something out of a sci-fi movies, but it really means something
09:02 PM pink_vampire: infornography: LOL now i'm getting it
09:29 PM skunkworks: there might be some bios tweeking to get the latency down more..
09:29 PM pink_vampire: skunkworks: the BASE_PERIOD is per axis? or it is shared?
09:32 PM skunkworks: it is a global setting
09:32 PM skunkworks: it is how often certain realtime operatins run
09:33 PM skunkworks: (part of stepgen runs in the base period)
09:33 PM pink_vampire: so how do i make sure that i can run all the axis in the maximum speed?
09:34 PM pink_vampire: because now the c axis is set to 1434
09:42 PM pink_vampire: skunkworks: 1434*13.65 = 19574 hz, and the BASE_PERIOD is 50,000 ns so 20 khz - is there a risk that if i will run more then one axis it will top off the BASE_PERIOD?
09:46 PM _unreal_: getting closer to having my cnc controller working

09:48 PM _unreal_: pink_vampire, no
09:48 PM _unreal_: I dont think so
09:49 PM _unreal_: are you planning on running a 20khz step rate?
09:50 PM _unreal_: better question are you micro stepping? and to what power?
09:51 PM pink_vampire: yes, the BASE_PERIOD is set to 50,000 ns (20 khz)
09:53 PM pink_vampire: it is a G320X (step direction)
09:54 PM _unreal_: are you micro stepping is what I'm asking and to what power? 1/2 1/8th 1/16 32 128th?
09:59 PM pink_vampire: I'm actually use the multiplier of 5, the encoder 8192 PPR with 1:3 belt, give 24576 lines per rev, but with the *5 multiplication in the G320x, it is become 4915.2 lines per rev
10:04 PM _unreal_: going for crazy accuracy :) ??
10:06 PM pink_vampire: 4915.2 PPR for rotory axis is NOT crazy accuracy
10:18 PM skunkworks: pink_vampire: no.
10:18 PM pink_vampire: skunkworks: ?
10:18 PM skunkworks: (to your question above)
10:19 PM pink_vampire: skunkworks: the BASE_PERIOD is per axis?
10:19 PM pink_vampire: or it is shared?
10:19 PM pink_vampire: it is 2 questions
10:21 PM skunkworks: shared I guess in your context. every stepgen gets run within that 50,000 ns
10:21 PM skunkworks: and if it doesn't you get a realtime delay error ;)
10:23 PM pink_vampire: so to move all the axis in rapid
10:23 PM skunkworks: try it :)
10:24 PM Tom_itx: i forgot how many tools can be in the tool table?
10:25 PM pink_vampire: Tom_itx: I have er11, and you are talking about tool changer
10:25 PM Tom_itx: no
10:25 PM Tom_itx: linuxcnc tool table
10:25 PM skunkworks: 2.7 is 52ish.. I don't know if they changed it in master..
10:25 PM Tom_itx: oh ok that should be enough for now
10:25 PM Tom_itx: i was reaching 30ish and started to wonder
10:26 PM Tom_itx: added all the thread mills i wanna get to my cad cam tool list
10:26 PM Tom_itx: i try to keep it the same as the linuxcnc tool table
11:10 PM pink_vampire: what bench top grinder is recommend for sharpen lathe tools - consider i have a small lathe and i'm not a factory. so 3/8" tools is the largest can fit
11:58 PM Jymmm: Mini Lathe anyone??? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/All-metal-mini-Lathe-Z20002M-metal-lathe-mini-metal-lathe-for-6in1-8in1-kit-29W-20000rpm/32364704636.html
11:58 PM XXCoder: fancier than my $35 one lol
