01:57 AM Deejay: moin
03:08 AM miss0r: mornin'
03:31 AM miss0r: syyl: you around?
03:32 AM syyl: still grumpy and sleepy
03:32 AM syyl: but yes
03:32 AM Deejay: morning
03:32 AM miss0r: Do you come in any other state? :)
03:32 AM syyl: but Deejay already brightened my day
03:32 AM Deejay: \o/
03:32 AM miss0r: how so? :D
03:33 AM XXCoder: by being literally bright
03:33 AM miss0r: :D
03:33 AM * Deejay hands over some 0xc00fee to syyl
03:33 AM miss0r: syyl: I just wanted to share with you my project of retrofitting my maho: https://imgur.com/a/t7OcojW This is the beast of a control box in the workings
03:34 AM syyl: nice
03:34 AM syyl: i guess you will end up with about 1/3 of the original electronics cabinet? :D
03:34 AM miss0r: well. I'm only replacing the philips 432 controller. but still :) its alot smaller than the old control box.
03:35 AM syyl: oh
03:35 AM syyl: yes, i have seen the 432 before
03:35 AM miss0r: I'm doing a plug'n play solution, where I can remove the new box and have the old one reinstalled within a few hours should it fail for some reason at a critical moment
03:35 AM miss0r: so, I have alot of d-subs to solder :D
03:35 AM syyl: :)
03:36 AM syyl: i like soldering dsub
03:36 AM syyl: its very calming
03:36 AM miss0r: no! its a lie
03:36 AM miss0r: noone likes that!
03:36 AM Deejay: lol
03:36 AM syyl: cutting tiny pieces of shrink tube
03:36 AM * miss0r starts getting the shivers
03:36 AM syyl: stripping all wires to a precise length
03:36 AM syyl: awww
03:36 AM syyl: <3
03:37 AM miss0r: I *DID* take one easy out. The two 50 pole d-subs, I ordered with a screwterminal breakout board
03:37 AM syyl: :(
03:37 AM miss0r: the middle row of solder points.. well, you'd need to be some kind of sadist, to enjoy that part
03:38 AM syyl: :)
03:38 AM Deejay: its the best part! ;)
03:38 AM miss0r: back when I started soldering d-subs for the first time, the plastic fillings were not the same 'quality' as it is today. If you heated a pin for too long, the entire filling would become soft, and the poles would shift around !!
03:38 AM syyl: thats still the case
03:38 AM syyl: :D
03:38 AM miss0r: probally why I still don't like it :D
03:39 AM miss0r: yeah sure.. but it takes ALOT longer today than it did then
03:40 AM miss0r: iirc, you had around 1 sec of heating time on each back then. Then you'd have to wait atleast 10 seconds for it to cool before soldering the next one
03:40 AM miss0r: atleast, if you were hellbend on doing the pin right next to the one already soldered
03:43 AM miss0r: syyl: You aren't by any chance interrested in an old TOS knee mill? :) 1600mm table. Only 0.04mm wobble in it :D
03:43 AM syyl: haha, no thanks
03:44 AM miss0r: meh.. don't come back telling me you did not get the offer ;)
03:44 AM syyl: lol
03:44 AM syyl: i would be interested if you had an aciera F1 mill
03:44 AM syyl: or a sixis 101
03:45 AM miss0r: I don't have anything that small laying around...
03:45 AM miss0r: What about a deckel FP1?
03:45 AM syyl: hmm
03:45 AM syyl: hard call
03:45 AM syyl: i like that machine a lot
03:45 AM syyl: but there are many issues with it
03:45 AM miss0r: unless it was treated properly & always in a heated dry workshop ;)
03:46 AM syyl: and then still, replacing the bearings in the vertical head will set you back a significant amount of money
03:46 AM syyl: or any other replacement part for that matter
03:47 AM miss0r: that is true. hang on, i'll find a picture of it
03:49 AM miss0r: https://imgur.com/a/KbRf4UT
03:49 AM miss0r: I'll let you fall in love with it for a while, before telling you why you do not what this one inparticular :)
03:50 AM miss0r: syyl: but you probally figured that out already? :)
03:50 AM syyl: oh
03:51 AM syyl: thats a nice one
03:51 AM syyl: late round headed model with the dials
03:51 AM syyl: i would much more like a fp2 ;)
03:51 AM miss0r: :D
03:51 AM miss0r: This is with the MK3 taper
03:51 AM syyl: MK4
03:51 AM miss0r: nope
03:52 AM miss0r: Some genious either made a mk3 spindle for it or had it made
03:52 AM syyl: wtf
03:52 AM miss0r: yeah
03:52 AM syyl: thats odd
03:52 AM miss0r: I had the same exact conversation that we are having now, with the guy selling it
03:53 AM miss0r: All I do know for sure, is that it has been sitting in storage for the last 15 years
03:54 AM syyl: :D
03:58 AM miss0r: One can only assume, that the person doing that to the spindle is the same kind of person who would enjoy soldering d-subs...
03:58 AM miss0r: Some people..
04:00 AM syyl: <3
04:04 AM DaViruz: i only like soldering high density dsub.
04:04 AM miss0r: DaViruz: You're swedish, so that was assumed...
04:05 AM syyl: lol
04:05 AM miss0r: Normally I have realy steady hands, but when I need to do small stuff with a soldering iron I get a nasty case of soldering parkintons
04:05 AM syyl: cnc soldering!
04:06 AM miss0r: woah! Now that is an idea.
04:06 AM DaViruz: it's obvious why danes can't solder small connectors.
04:06 AM DaViruz: they can't stay sober long enough
04:06 AM syyl: that makes 50 bucks then
04:06 AM syyl: standard consulting rate
04:06 AM miss0r: DaViruz: No, we are just too busy shipping your drunken brotheren back across the pond
04:07 AM miss0r: syyl : :D
04:07 AM syyl: lol
04:07 AM syyl: all the northerns come to germany for drinking
04:07 AM miss0r: DaViruz: That surface grinder of "yours" is still doing great :D
04:07 AM syyl: because beer is so cheap here :)
04:08 AM miss0r: syyl: I was in germany during the spring, so install an okuma cnc lathe, sold from Denmark. Be sure to know I had "zwei grose bier" for dinner :P
04:08 AM DaViruz: happy to hear it!
04:08 AM miss0r: (No idea about the spelling, but I can pronounce it alright)
04:08 AM syyl: :D
04:08 AM syyl: yeah, thats quite common here
04:08 AM syyl: i can get beer even in the canteen at work
04:08 AM miss0r: I was in a town called celle. The waiters at the restaurant had NO idea about english, at all :)
04:09 AM miss0r: syyl: Neat. I've always kept a strict politic about not mixing machinery and alcohol though
04:09 AM syyl: metoo
04:09 AM syyl: and it seems to go away
04:10 AM syyl: a lot of companies start to have a strict no-alcohole-policy
04:10 AM miss0r: it used to be all over Denmark as well. Only 10 or 15 years ago, every working man had beer for lunch. Now it very rare
04:10 AM syyl: and we still have a vending machine with beer ;)
04:10 AM miss0r: :D you gotta love that hehe just for the principle
04:11 AM miss0r: The only workplaces, that I know of, that still serve beer for lunch are Carlsberg & Tuborg brewery. They are allowed to drink 10 beers a day, per employee. The forklift drivers are limited to 5, though :D
04:11 AM DaViruz: :D
04:12 AM XXCoder: geez
04:12 AM syyl: our forkliftdrivers
04:12 AM syyl: boy
04:13 AM miss0r: lol
04:13 AM DaViruz: they are all called klaus?
04:13 AM XXCoder: heh if I ever drink beer it'd be 100 years too early
04:14 AM miss0r: DaViruz: Pronounced with like three or four s'es
04:14 AM syyl: we have the gate-company in about once a month
04:14 AM syyl: to fix the rollup gates they smash into...
04:14 AM miss0r: haha
04:14 AM syyl: its almost comical
04:14 AM XXCoder: so they come in and smash, then fix it, and go?
04:15 AM syyl: haha
04:15 AM syyl: not exactly
04:15 AM syyl: but sounds like a good buisness model
04:16 AM miss0r: hehe. they have your forklift drivers on the payroll..
04:17 AM XXCoder: its self-made biz, it cant go under
04:17 AM XXCoder: budget issues? just visit few companies
04:17 AM syyl: :D
04:17 AM syyl: oh, you could even improve on that
04:17 AM syyl: "nice gate you have there. would be a shame if it broke."
04:17 AM XXCoder: lol
04:18 AM miss0r: hehe
04:18 AM miss0r: lets take it a step further; mafia protection. You can pay us money to keep the gate from breaking
04:18 AM syyl: same for machines
04:18 AM syyl: "good spindle runout you have there. hopefully it stays that way"
04:19 AM miss0r: "It would be a crying shame, if somehow grinding dust got into the lubrication system"
04:19 AM syyl: speaking of ginding dust
04:20 AM syyl: ground a tapered gib yesterday on the t&c grinder :D
04:20 AM syyl: http://gtwr.de/div/pro_schaublin102_aug_018.jpg
04:20 AM syyl: and no, i dont have a large enough sine-magnet ;)
04:21 AM miss0r: syyl: I was out looking at an old TOS gearhobber. It had some issues with the differential, driving the slanted gear teeth. I ran it for a few hours without an issue, so I decided to just open it and take a look inside. I removed almost 0.5liters of metal chips from the gearbox & lubrication system. I couldn't find anywhere they could get in.
04:21 AM syyl: urgs
04:21 AM miss0r: I eventualy found out that the door they open into the gearbox to swap out gears for the cutting, was sometimes left open, when not in use. and then some other fellah comes along and starts cleaning the working area of the machine next to it with compressed air...
04:21 AM miss0r: You get the picture
04:21 AM syyl: those pesky coworkers
04:22 AM miss0r: Cute setup
04:22 AM miss0r: It even had a few lube nozzles completely gunked up with metal and plastic shavings. It took me three days to flush the central lubrication system and clean it out
04:23 AM miss0r: actualy, that is at the shop where they have your picture on the wall ;)
04:23 AM syyl: sinds like a fun day
04:23 AM syyl: make that days
04:24 AM miss0r: not realy. I'm about to get my picture up there next to it.. :D Mostly because i'm a big guy, and they wanted a picture of me looking angry, threatning with a slap to the face, and a caption reading "Have you cleaned your machine properly"
04:25 AM syyl: lol
04:25 AM miss0r: 2/3rd of all the issues they have out there is because of poor operator maintenance
04:25 AM syyl: common
04:25 AM miss0r: syyl: Can I perhaps persuade you to make a new picture for them?
04:25 AM syyl: there is no picture of me!
04:26 AM syyl: :D
04:26 AM miss0r: I'm not kidding! Alright, I'll take a photo of it during the week. :) Then you can see for yourself
04:26 AM syyl: :D
04:26 AM miss0r: I would very much like to hand them a picture of you in this 1920 style: https://www.amazon.com/Keeler-Signed-1930%60s-Authentic-Autograph/dp/B075BCRWFY
04:26 AM syyl: we have only barely clothed girls on the wall
04:27 AM miss0r: If you feel like humouring me :)
04:27 AM miss0r: They have that as well, but it would seem you are the main source of intertainment during lunch break.
04:27 AM syyl: that must be a painfull existance
04:27 AM syyl: :D
04:27 AM miss0r: Oddest of places. NOONE speaks to eachother during lunch. Everyone is just looking into their phones
04:28 AM syyl: i dont want to be bothered during lunch either
04:28 AM miss0r: is that a machinist thing?
04:28 AM syyl: dunno
04:28 AM syyl: most of us are playing cards
04:28 AM miss0r: I don't think I've seen it any other place i've been
04:28 AM miss0r: well, atleast that is some sort of interaction
04:29 AM syyl: but some of the old grumps (and me) just want to have some quiet time
04:29 AM miss0r: I'm telling you. Its dead nuts quite in that breakroom. All you can hear is knife and fork hitting the plates
04:29 AM syyl: lol
04:30 AM miss0r: But I guess in modern society with all the cellphone addition, they need to catch up during break, as I NEVER see anyone on their phone during work
04:32 AM syyl: thats the bonus of doing my own cam at work
04:32 AM syyl: i have a pc at my place. and dont have to bother my phone ;)
04:33 AM miss0r: Most of these guys do the cam direct on the machine. Mostly basic stuff
04:33 AM miss0r: I have yet to come across an okuma that could handle a youtube stream :D
04:33 AM syyl: haha
04:34 AM syyl: i used to have a workmate in 2nd shift that was reading books on the siemens controller
04:34 AM syyl: the newer siemens controllers have a pdf reader...for reference and manuals. or e-books ;)
04:35 AM miss0r: syyl: Haha. That is nice :D
04:36 AM miss0r: I suppose the newer charmilles wire EDMs could probally do some lowlevel playback
04:36 AM miss0r: But you'd need to tinker with it a bit first :)
04:36 AM syyl: chamilles runs windows, right?
04:37 AM syyl: (at least our sinker edm does)
04:37 AM miss0r: yup
04:38 AM miss0r: So, could you consider making me a photo as I requested? It would make their day ;)
04:39 AM syyl: lol
04:39 AM miss0r: I wouldn't blame you if you'd rather not.
04:39 AM syyl: i think about it. might need my significant other to help me with it
04:39 AM miss0r: I just thought it could be a fun idea
04:39 AM syyl: she is the better artist than me
04:39 AM miss0r: haha
04:39 AM syyl: if i did it myself, i would probably look like a complete moron
04:40 AM miss0r: I have what we in Denmark would call a 'bank signature'. Completely unreadable to anyone :D
04:40 AM miss0r: Don't put too much effort into it. I just though it would be a cool idea
04:42 AM syyl: :)
04:44 AM miss0r: The one they have now is, I think, a still from one of your videos
04:44 AM XXCoder: hmmmm pretend to be someone, write random squiggles for signture
04:44 AM XXCoder: withdraw few million bucks ;)
04:45 AM miss0r: protif $$
05:22 AM jthornton: morning
05:22 AM XXCoder: yo
05:28 AM miss0r: mornin jt
05:32 AM miss0r: jthornton: I've become a little confused by the 7i77 manual: For the fieldpower.
05:33 AM miss0r: if I am reading this correctly, and assuming the same 24vdc powersupply is used for field io logic and field power, I should connect +24vdc to pin 1 & 5 and gnd/0vdc to pin 8 all on TB2, is this correctly understood?
05:39 AM jthornton: hmm I just connected 24vdc to TB1 pin 1 and 0vdc to TB1 pin 8
05:42 AM XXCoder: new clickspring. one I saw bit ago but now public https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_MdxdGr57k
05:42 AM XXCoder: suggested watch, its very interesting!
05:50 AM miss0r|office: jthornton: Then what is the field power for?
05:50 AM XXCoder: sheilds up!
05:51 AM miss0r|office: jthornton: Also, TB1 is for 5vdc input with only terminal 1 & 2..
05:52 AM jthornton: Note: When W1 is in the default left hand position, VIN is connected to VFIELD, so only VFIELD need be supplied to the 7I76 to power its field IO.
05:52 AM miss0r|office: If you mean TB2, it all makes sense, if jumper W1 is in left position, then VFIELD and VIN are tied together
05:52 AM miss0r|office: indeed
05:53 AM jthornton: unless it's changed since I've downloaded the manual TB1 is the 7I76s field power connector.
05:53 AM miss0r|office: Not to beat a dead horse; but you are infact talking about TB2, right? not TB1
05:53 AM jthornton: opps wrong manual
05:53 AM miss0r|office: this is a 7i77
05:53 AM jthornton: TB2 is the 7I77s field power connector.
05:53 AM miss0r|office: good. Then we are 'on the same page' littelary :)
05:54 AM miss0r|office: Okay. what I needed to hear. THanks
05:54 AM jthornton: I thought I clicked on 7i77 but must have missed the mark... still on my first cup of coffee
05:54 AM miss0r|office: ohh.. Put down any tools at your disposal, and let them stay down until atleast halfway through your 3rd cup ;)
05:55 AM jthornton: I only drink 2 cups a day otherwise it upsets my stomach and I have to eat something
05:55 AM miss0r|office: Yeah, who would want to eat something :-/
05:57 AM jthornton: I ate too much this weekend gotta lose 10 pounds now lol
05:59 AM miss0r: lol
05:59 AM miss0r: sounds like 'some' weekend :D
05:59 AM miss0r: another quick question: how much current can I draw from the outputs of the 7i77?
05:59 AM miss0r: per output
06:00 AM jthornton: we went to Spyder Palooza to hang out with a bunch of Spyder people
06:00 AM miss0r: alot of bbq?
06:00 AM jthornton: I'd have to look that up
06:00 AM jthornton: bbq yesterday
06:01 AM miss0r: Sounds delicious. Sadly the weather is turning to autumn here, so the bbq season is closing fast
06:02 AM miss0r: in the 7i77 manual it states that "The 7I76s outputs can drive loads of up to 350 mA"
06:02 AM miss0r: Is it reasonable to assume the same goes for the 7i77?
06:03 AM jthornton: hmm a typo on the 7i76 part I'd bet
06:03 AM miss0r: Alright :)
06:04 AM jthornton: what page is that on?
06:04 AM miss0r: 7i76 is mentioned a few times in the "FIELD OUTPUT CHARACTERISTICS" on page 16
06:05 AM miss0r: there it also speaks of TB1 instead of TB2
06:07 AM jthornton: hmm a bunch of typo's in the current manual
06:07 AM jthornton: mine is a bit older and only have one typo
06:07 AM miss0r: Gool'ol
06:34 AM gloops: well my wedding sign went down well, both bride and groom made it their facebook cover photo heh
06:41 AM miss0r|laptop: nice. do you have a photo?
06:42 AM gloops: i got a snap yesterday, actually it is a bit rough lol, i only finished it 45 minutes before they left
06:44 AM gloops: https://ibb.co/nhFOWe
06:45 AM miss0r|laptop: Nice work gloops. beautiful craftmanship
06:47 AM gloops: thanks, i was going to do something a bit more grand but left it too late, it was ok
06:48 AM miss0r|laptop: I think its very very nice
06:48 AM gloops: also touched finishing tool off a touch deep, left a trace - didnt have time to rub it out lol, it looked fine though head on nothing noticeable
06:49 AM miss0r|laptop: I think the overall look of it is quite stunning
06:49 AM gloops: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE_AGP75en8
06:50 AM gloops: keeps the mrs off my back, it was a wedding she was going to, might get some peace when my parcels start arriving next time lol
06:56 AM miss0r|laptop: FAK! I just soldered a 15 pole male d-sub to both ends of this cable! work wasted!" I HATE SOLDERING D-SUBS !
06:59 AM gloops: glad i never heard of them before lol
06:59 AM miss0r|laptop: d-subs? the parallel port is a 25pole d-sub
06:59 AM miss0r|laptop: your average rs232 is a 9 pole d-sub
07:01 AM gloops: oh right
07:02 AM gloops: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bridgeport-Turret-Milling-Machine-drill/263928925342? this seems very cheap, bridgeport for £400
07:03 AM gloops: miss0r use a male/female adaptor on one end?
07:04 AM miss0r|laptop: meh... I want it done right from the start.
07:04 AM miss0r|laptop: :)
07:09 AM gloops: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Small-Shaping-machine/263931199729?
07:24 AM fragalot: hey
07:28 AM gloops: howdy
07:30 AM gloops: every time i feel a building spree coming on i end up being so busy the urge fades again
07:38 AM MarcelineVQ: Work backwards. Find something you really want to make, and if you need a certain machine to do so you'll be forced to get it going
07:41 AM miss0r: hello fragalot. I was starting to think you'd been forced to do social stuff :)
07:41 AM gloops: i kinda know when this is gonna happen - mid winter -8 in the garage lol
07:41 AM miss0r: lol
07:42 AM gloops: winter is good for building, not so many outdoor distractions, plus cold is a good motivator
09:28 AM fragalot: hey
10:22 AM Deejay: moin
10:27 AM Jin|away is now known as Jin^eLD
10:27 AM Jin^eLD: hi
11:01 AM * Loetmichel is surprised. just shuffled the parking spots of my cars... the Opel Omega diesel has now sit of about 4 months... and still started in less than 2 seconds. No battery charge needed...
11:08 AM Tom_L: it won't die at home ya know
11:08 AM Loetmichel: Tom_L: true
11:09 AM Loetmichel: not if the jumper box is in reach
11:09 AM Loetmichel: :-)
12:55 PM Loetmichel: *meh* my wife must have a sixth sense... whenever i am playing some game with PvP, having an interesing conversation in IRC or simply watching an interesting live stream on youtube she will inevitable call out and demand some help with something that needs my physical presence... :-(
01:04 PM pjm: Loetmichel, yeah i got one of them, usually the call comes 2 or 3 mins after turning on the soldering iron, most irritating!
01:05 PM Loetmichel: pjm: indeed ;)
01:42 PM Tecan: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3104051 plastic spring i made
02:15 PM miss0r: 'evening
02:51 PM Jin^eLD: hi miss0r
03:23 PM miss0r: Jin^eLD: It is taking longer than enticipated to solder all those d-subs :) https://imgur.com/a/tHcOf4M
03:24 PM XXCoder: starting to form
03:24 PM miss0r: it is. But it is slow progress
03:25 PM Jin^eLD: that cabinet looks neat
03:25 PM miss0r: Jin^eLD: Well, only about half the wires are in there, so I can still fsck it up ;)
03:25 PM miss0r: But thanks :)
03:27 PM Jin^eLD: lets hope you can restrain yourself from fsck'ing it up ;)
03:27 PM miss0r: basically, all that is wired up is the analog drive signal to the servo amplifyers and the input signal from the linear scales
03:28 PM miss0r: Jin^eLD: Hehe, i hope so. I should be able to; I've been building stuff like this for many years
03:29 PM Jin^eLD: I have no clue about electric wiring and stuff like that, so I dont even try :)
03:30 PM XXCoder: I have no idea on how to design cabient
03:30 PM XXCoder: I have BOB, tb6600s, psus fo those
03:32 PM miss0r: I've made a small upload to imgur of stuff I've made, that I actualy have pictures of on this pc here: https://imgur.com/a/2u17B1D
03:32 PM miss0r: As you can probally tell, I have some sort of OCD, when it comes to wiring stuff
03:33 PM Jin^eLD: wow
03:33 PM XXCoder: miss0r: you'd be a good networking admin
03:34 PM miss0r: XXCoder: hehe atleast I'd wire a good rack. I've done a few of those as well. Didn't find it very enjoyable
03:34 PM XXCoder: lol yeah. once did it for nonprofit. so many wire crimping...
03:35 PM miss0r: The picture of the large VFDs. That is inside a shipping container. I was given one month to complete it :)
03:35 PM miss0r: https://imgur.com/a/lJnsbkC
03:36 PM miss0r: This container takes in 3x 4x240mm^2 cables as the power supply.
03:36 PM XXCoder: dang
03:36 PM XXCoder: portable network center?
03:36 PM XXCoder: no its not networking nbm :P
03:36 PM miss0r: nope. Its for running a sewage pumping station(a quite large one), while it is being completely rebuild
03:37 PM XXCoder: interesting
03:37 PM XXCoder: what happens to it when plant are/was complete?
03:37 PM miss0r: ...scrap
03:37 PM XXCoder: really? I'd keep it as backup or send it to other places as needed to fix things up
03:38 PM miss0r: that is a 150k eur shipping container
03:38 PM miss0r: I think it has to run for another year.
03:38 PM miss0r: The problem with large VFDs is that the capacitors will collapse over time, if they are used and then set aside
03:39 PM miss0r: THAT and this container was purpose build for that particular pumping station. It would be cheaper to build a new one for another setup
03:39 PM XXCoder: and I guess its not worth it to refabinish
03:40 PM miss0r: so; I think my point of wiring OCF is firmy cemented now :P
03:40 PM miss0r: OCD*
03:40 PM XXCoder: lol
03:40 PM miss0r: I like jobs like that; I get a description of what the station is supposed to do and then have to start from scratch to make a "driver" for it
03:41 PM miss0r: XXCoder: Speaking of control cabinets; I don't think I've ever seen a picture of yours? I know you use labels for your wires, but I can't remember if you told me or if I saw a picture
03:42 PM XXCoder: nah havent taken a picture because cabinet is just a box with stuff in it
03:42 PM miss0r: meh :]
03:43 PM XXCoder: actually I did take a picture but that was couple years ago
03:43 PM miss0r: I'm still sad I never got gloops to take a picture of his cabinet. I think that could've been interresting
03:45 PM XXCoder: oh well
03:45 PM XXCoder: I saw his video on machine
03:45 PM XXCoder: moves pretty fast
03:45 PM miss0r: cool. Yesterday he posted a photo of a sign he made for a wedding. That thing was realy beautiful
03:50 PM miss0r: I think I'll call it a night. have a good one
03:50 PM XXCoder: later. ya sign looked good
03:59 PM Jin^eLD: soo, today we started the first tests with the MH400E, looks promising
04:24 PM Jin^eLD is now known as Jin|away
04:27 PM Deejay: gn8
08:20 PM skunkworks: https://youtu.be/ooQFhbMkHak
08:21 PM Tom_L: are those nema 23?
08:21 PM Tom_L: you need a steady cam :)
08:21 PM Tom_L: those are short stack whatever they are
08:22 PM XXCoder: looks like nema34s
08:22 PM XXCoder: short stack yeah
08:22 PM skunkworks: they are pretty big...
08:23 PM skunkworks: flange is maybe almost 4" square0
08:23 PM Tom_L: happen to know how many in/oz they are?
08:24 PM XXCoder: maybe nema54?
08:24 PM skunkworks: i suck at video. i need a decent camera instead ov my phone
08:24 PM Tom_L: make a steady cam arm
08:24 PM skunkworks: i have not looked them up yet
08:24 PM XXCoder: skunkworks: can you set your caliper to mm mode and measure center of bolt to next?
08:24 PM XXCoder: dont have to be super accurate but curious on its size
08:25 PM skunkworks: wont happen for a few days.. have to travel
08:25 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/encoder/encoder8.jpg
08:25 PM Tom_L: did another ver of the encoder tonight
08:26 PM Tom_L: better spacing
08:26 PM XXCoder: no problem :)
08:27 PM skunkworks: Tom_L: nice!
08:28 PM Tom_L: .03125 bit
08:31 PM Tom_L: how's the laptop perform with linuxcnc?
08:31 PM Tom_L: you must be running ethernet cards
08:31 PM XXCoder: it matters a lot less with seperate stepgen
08:35 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/encoder/encoder_batch.jpg
08:35 PM Tom_L: i'll run a few tomorrow probably
08:36 PM skunkworks: Tom_L: runs quite well... rt-preempt
08:37 PM Tom_L: nice
08:37 PM Tom_L: any problem with the video?
08:38 PM Tom_L: stretch i presume
08:42 PM skunkworks: no... there are some things you dont want to do like mute audio (button)
08:44 PM XXCoder: Tom_L: making a lot of encoders?
08:44 PM Tom_L: a handfull anyway
08:44 PM skunkworks: or turn on the keyboard light
08:45 PM Tom_L: just easier to do it that way
08:45 PM skunkworks: or off
08:45 PM Tom_L: heh
08:45 PM Tom_L: really?
08:46 PM Tom_L: XXCoder i just leave a little tab and peel em out like opening a pop can
08:47 PM Tom_L: or beer if you prefer
08:47 PM XXCoder: I dont drink either. lol
09:16 PM ziper: individual item gets free shipping
09:17 PM ziper: three of them gets 90 dollar shipping
09:17 PM ziper: what?
09:17 PM XXCoder: it may go over certain theshold
09:17 PM XXCoder: for example stuff from china shupping goes up very fast at and past 600mm
09:18 PM ziper: so what if just order one one day one the next day and one the third day
09:18 PM XXCoder: then no problem then
09:19 PM XXCoder: its vaster cheaper for them to ship em that way also
09:19 PM ziper: that doesnt make any sense
09:20 PM XXCoder: welcome to ecomonies
09:33 PM ziper: i think i have enough money to order the parts
09:36 PM XXCoder: cool
09:44 PM ziper: unless the parts are wrong
