[06:06:12] <XXCoder> checked MAF seemed fine, cleaned it with electrics cleaner
[06:09:47] <archivist> and replace spark plugs, checking the colour of them to see engine condition

[06:10:25] <XXCoder> burnt basically, 3 was fine, just very old
[06:10:35] <XXCoder> 2 had black traces, and one very bad
[06:10:46] <XXCoder> I suspect something failed but whatever keep it running
[06:11:01] <archivist> one bad may point to a mechanical fault in that cylinder

[23:52:57] <furrywolf> I had to make new holes in the engine crossmember, make a bellhousing adapter plate, redrill the flywheel, fab new transmission mounts (since the 1988 tranny doesn't fit the 1984 body), fab significant portions of the shift linkage, swap in a late-'80s driveshaft, etc.

[23:55:47] <furrywolf> in the 82-84 years (mine's an 84), you only could get a 4spd dual-range... I swapped in the late-'80s 5spd dual range, which is why I had to fab the tranny mounts and use the newer driveshaft.

[23:58:52] <furrywolf> let's put it this way... you built a shiny intake system with fancy curvey hoses etc. I cut apart a stock (I think I used a 98, don't remember) air intake and glued it back together with all the bends and nipples where I needed them rather than where they started. :P
[23:59:55] <furrywolf> the engine was meant for the airbox on passenger side of the car. my body has the battery and other stuff over there. so I flipped it upside down to put the air filter on the driver's side, but then the bends were wrong, and the nipples stuck out the top and pointed the wrong way...
