[15:24:41] <andypugh> The last one was just overhead-projector pen (very fine marker pen) and an FeCl etch of polished aluminium. Very easy to try with whatever detectors you have.

[15:31:13] <andypugh> (Traditional crank sensors worked off the starter ring-gear, and had one short tooth. Many cars now use a dedicated pulse wheel on the other end of the crank, and some of those use a magnetic track and hall sensors)
