08:35 AM rene-dev5: It looks like the remap is less broken than I thought, just the documentation is a bit confusing
09:18 AM rmu: pcw-home: with 6.4.2 you mean 6.4.0-rc2 ?
09:19 AM pcw-home: Yes, sorry 6.4.0-rc2-rt1
09:21 AM rmu: i just built 6.4.0-rc3-rt2 but something went wrong, doesn't boot.
09:23 AM rmu: grr. that machine only has bluetooth keyboard and that doesn't work at grub prompt
09:23 AM pcw-home: Argh
09:26 AM pcw-home: Did you strip the symbols? ( I've had trouble with that in the past as newer kernels get too big if you don't do this) )
09:29 AM rmu: don't think so, just made "make bindep-pkg" with old config from 6.3 kernel series
09:31 AM pcw-home: If 6.3 worked I would expect 6.4 would as well
09:34 AM rmu: have to find a keyboard...
11:49 AM rmu: my 6.4.0-rc3-rt2 locks up hard as soon as networking is enabled. strange.
11:54 AM pcw-home: I'll try it and see what I get
11:55 AM pcw-home: (might take an hour or so to build...)
11:57 AM rmu: i'm going back to 6.4.0-rc2-rt1
11:57 AM pcw-home: 21 hours now on LinuxCNC with 6.4.0-rc2-rt1 at 2 KHz servo thread, max Ethernet read time is 227 usec (worst Network jitter ~60 usec)
11:59 AM pcw-home: neither videos or building kernels seem to hurt this
01:40 PM seb_kuzminsky: pcw-home: that's super promising
01:40 PM seb_kuzminsky: did you use the kconfig from debian's 6.1-rt or something custom?
01:45 PM pcw-home: I just built from source
02:03 PM pcw-home: rmu: just built and tested 6.4.0-rc3-rt2 I had no boot issues but Network latency is noticeably worse than 6.4.0.rc2-rt1
02:05 PM CaptHindsight[m]: fix one thing, break something else
03:16 PM rmu: building 6.4.0-rc2-rt1 now
03:17 PM rmu: maybe i messed up the configuration
03:25 PM rmu: that was quick
03:39 PM seb_kuzminsky: pcw-home: there's a thread on linux-rt-users (@vger.kernel.org) about network latency with recent 6.x-rt kernels, Rod Webster is reporting results, maybe your results would be helpful there too
03:41 PM rmu: it's been 15 minutes, 6.4.0-rc2-rt1 also doesn't boot properly...
09:25 PM pcw-home: rmu: X86 or ARM?
