12:05 PM andypugh_: pcw-home: Thanks for the hint, popping more data than there was to pop was entirely the problem. it’s working pretty smoothly now.
12:05 PM andypugh_: (well, that and the existing driver masking out the parity and filter bits)
12:09 PM pcw-home: The firmware fix is probably desirable as well just to catch any possible corner cases
12:10 PM pcw-home: what do you think about adding the longer baudrate DDS and filter?
12:10 PM pcw-home: (RX data filter)
12:14 PM pcw-home: Extending the filter to 16 bits would allow 1/2 bit time filter down to about 800 baud
12:14 PM andypugh_: Do we need the granularity at the high rates?
12:16 PM andypugh_: There are 2 more bits to be had, but possibly it could be doubled, too?
12:16 PM pcw-home: on baud rates you lose resolution at lower baud rates (the reason to extend the DDS to 24 bits)
12:17 PM andypugh_: It looks like it’s going to work anyway (I should trial a much longer cable, to be sure)
12:17 PM pcw-home: I was just going to add the high 8 bits of the rx filter to the top 8 bits of the rx baud rate register
12:19 PM pcw-home: It just seems like a good time to do this before people start using it
12:27 PM -!- #linuxcnc-devel mode set to +v by ChanServ
03:04 PM andypugh_: Doh! I just realised that Modbus function codes are not hex, no wonder my command 15 wasn’t working….
03:05 PM Tom_L: :)
04:37 PM andypugh_: It’s still not working in decimal. But there is nothing in the docs to say that it should. In fact there are almost no docs.
04:37 PM andypugh_: http://www.icstation.com/rs485-modbus-4bit-relay-module-channel-switch-controller-arduino-p-14750.html
04:38 PM andypugh_: This is the best that I have found, but there is no indication how to read the 4 inputs, only the relay states.
05:24 PM seb_kuzminsky: i just fixed 2.9 and master, and unlocked the branches
05:25 PM seb_kuzminsky: i turned on "require a pull request before merging" and "require 1 approval" for 2.*, but left master un-protected
05:26 PM seb_kuzminsky: note, you *may* still use the PR process in master if you want review & feedback on your changes, even though it's not required...
05:36 PM seb_kuzminsky: oh, our build has been broken on sid/unstable since march 22...
05:50 PM CaptHindsight[m]: andypugh_: did you notice the "completely destroyed" command?
05:51 PM andypugh_: CaptHindsight[m]: Yes, I decided not to tr it.
05:51 PM CaptHindsight[m]: :)
06:04 PM andypugh_: What is wierd is that there seems ot be 4 extra inputs on the card, but no info how to access them.
06:04 PM andypugh_: But, I don’t need it, it has fulfilled its purpose.
08:22 PM seb_kuzminsky: -[lp.;'/
08:22 PM seb_kuzminsky: i blame the cat
