05:34 AM reporter is now known as JT-Cave
07:18 AM JT-Cave: seb_kuzminsky, how did you install buildbot? I installed with the synaptic package manager but buildbot-www is not in debian...
10:34 AM pere: hi
11:25 AM seb_kuzminsky: JT-Cave: i installed `buildbot` via apt, then installed buildbot-{www,{waterfall,console,grid}-view} via pip
11:25 AM seb_kuzminsky: pip3 install buildbot-www # etc
11:25 AM seb_kuzminsky: i guess those things are not packaged as debs
11:27 AM seb_kuzminsky: andypugh: i think 2.9 is building debs correctly now (just for buster amd64 & armhf)
11:27 AM seb_kuzminsky: 1:2.9.0~pre1.18.g6be341b8b 500
11:27 AM seb_kuzminsky: 500 http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org buster/2.9-rtpreempt armhf Packages
11:30 AM seb_kuzminsky: i've done some proof-of-concept work and i now believe that the 3.x buildmaster in bookworm will work with all our old buildbot workers (precise and newer, and wheezy and newer), plus all the new workers we want to add (bullseye, bookworm, & sid)
11:31 AM seb_kuzminsky: i hope/plan to transition from the old buildbot to the over the coming few weeks
11:32 AM seb_kuzminsky: it would be helpful if someone could fix scripts/platform-is-supported in 2.8 & later so it does the right thing on all old and new platforms - it's currently broken on bookworm & sid
11:32 AM seb_kuzminsky: this can be tested in github, doesn't need buildbot
11:32 AM seb_kuzminsky: back later...
11:53 AM pere: seb_kuzminsky: had a look at scripts/platform-is-supported, and its assumtion for sid is flawed. it do not have a release number...
12:02 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: a possible workaround is in <URL: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/pull/2147 >. Just setting it to a high number if the value is not numering.
12:04 PM CaptHindsight[m]: https://github.com/NTULINUX/RTAI/releases/tag/v5.3.3-delta
12:05 PM CaptHindsight[m]: RTAI kernel 5.4 Debian packages are up!
12:11 PM pere: CaptHindsight[m]: so now you are ready to make a patch to the github CI script to build linuxcnc against it?
12:12 PM CaptHindsight[m]: not me, this sounds like software :)
12:12 PM pere: nah, it is configuration. :P
12:13 PM CaptHindsight[m]: command lines, bits, etc etc
01:14 PM linuxcnc-build2: Build [#18](http://buildmaster-2.local:8010/#builders/4/builds/18) of `run-buster` 8completed with warnings.
01:18 PM Tom_L: seb_kuzminsky, is your armhf worker an rpi or do you cross compile?
01:22 PM JT-Cave: seb_kuzminsky, thanks
01:30 PM seb_kuzminsky: my armhf is an rpi4 running raspbian
01:31 PM seb_kuzminsky: i tried cross compiling, it was way too slow
01:31 PM Tom_L: ok
01:31 PM seb_kuzminsky: err, that's a lie, i meant to say: i tried compiling native in a qemu emulated VM and it was way too slow
01:32 PM Tom_L: i've got buster bullseye & bookworm running on mine (separate sd)
01:32 PM Tom_L: been making debs for jt's mesact
01:33 PM seb_kuzminsky: cool!
01:33 PM seb_kuzminsky: i'm heading out, back on sunday
01:34 PM Tom_L: have fun
02:50 PM JT-Shop_ is now known as JT-Shop
