11:42 AM pere: wow, 27 open pull requests.
12:03 PM seb_kuzminsky: hi everyone
12:03 PM seb_kuzminsky: pere: i'm hoping to make the dsc(-candidate) in the next few hours, assuming nothing's broken again since i fixed it last ;-)
12:07 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: great. :)
12:10 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: did a test build from master a few hours ago, and it seem to work just fine.
12:10 PM pere: I was planning to update master from weblate, but have been waiting for Steffen to take a break in his translation work.
12:17 PM roguish[m]: seb_kuzminsky: you're the man.....
12:18 PM seb_kuzminsky: eh, shoulders of giants, it takes a village, and all that
12:19 PM Tom_L: somebody still has to be the chief
12:20 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: do you want to wait for updated translations?
12:20 PM seb_kuzminsky: Tom_L: *custodian
12:20 PM seb_kuzminsky: pere: no, i'd rather get it done now, we can make more later
12:21 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: ack.
12:21 PM pere: no rush, but around 1.5-2k strings pending.
12:22 PM seb_kuzminsky: in any of the "released" languages?
12:22 PM pere: no idea yet. not commited to git on weblate. I doubt it, suspect it is mostly german.
12:22 PM seb_kuzminsky: then i'm even less inclined to wait
12:23 PM pere: and I am quite relaxed about it too. :)
12:23 PM seb_kuzminsky: ok good :-)
12:23 PM pere: just wanted to ask, in case you were hours away from the upload.
12:24 PM seb_kuzminsky: how are things? how's your smokey spindle drive?
12:26 PM pere: nothing new, busy elsewhere with school start and the wood chip silo cover at the back. :)
12:27 PM seb_kuzminsky: understandable
12:44 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: <URL: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/pull/1961 > might be something to include in the upload, if you believe it is a good idea. not sure what I think.
12:51 PM pere: Both #1965 and #1146 seem to be endless loops in the G-code parser. Anyone got any clue how to solve it?
12:54 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: btw, can you upload to debian yourself, or do you need someone else to sign the package?
01:19 PM seb_kuzminsky: pere: i've never uploaded anything to debian before, what's the process? I'm listed as an "Uploader" in the existing package. I guess i make a signed dsc and use dupload? And my public key needs to be in the debian keyring or somewhere like that?
01:26 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: yeah. to get the key in there, you had to be registered as a debian maintainer or developer. did Steffen upload earlier?
01:27 PM pere: is there a plan for the d/changelog content of the next upload to debian?
01:27 PM seb_kuzminsky: yeah, steffen uploaded earlier
01:29 PM seb_kuzminsky: i didn't dig through the 1300 commits since the previous upload to make a detailed changelog, i just said "new translation infrastructure" and "misc bug fixes and improvements"
01:29 PM seb_kuzminsky: i hope that's good enought
01:30 PM pere: I got the idea that there was a script to generate the list of changes.
01:30 PM pere: also, the version number is the more complex part of this.
01:33 PM pere: debian/update-dch-from-git is the script I discovered.
01:37 PM seb_kuzminsky: yeah, update-dch-from-git just pust the subject of each commit since the previous release tag, but that's not useful for uploads to debian.org
01:37 PM seb_kuzminsky: for the version i'm reusing smoe's format
01:37 PM seb_kuzminsky: back in a bit
01:40 PM pere: ack.
02:24 PM pere: seb_kuzminsky: do you coordinate the dsc upload to debian with steffen?
07:03 PM seb_kuzminsky: ok, i think i have the dsc ready to upload: http://highlab.com/~seb/linuxcnc/debian.org/2.9.0~pre0+git20220827.f7d1c37ffd-1/
07:03 PM seb_kuzminsky: pere: does that look sane?
