01:46 AM Centurion-Dan2 is now known as Centurion_Dan
09:30 AM JT-Shop: pcw_home, any luck finding/making a bit file for 7i95 7i76?
09:31 AM pcw_home: It turns out you cannot fit a 7I76 interface onto a 7I95
09:31 AM pcw_home: not enough resources
09:32 AM Centurion-Dan2 is now known as Centurion_Dan
09:32 AM pcw_home: What actual I/O is needed?
09:37 AM JT-Shop: he needs another step/dir or two
09:38 AM JT-Shop: can you fit a 7i78?
09:39 AM JT-Shop: or a 7i85S?
09:40 AM pcw_home: 1 more step/dir?
09:40 AM JT-Shop: at least 1 more
09:41 AM pcw_home: 1 or 2 may be doable on a 7I78
09:42 AM JT-Shop: ok I'll let him know, he has glass scales with encoder output on each axis he want's bring into LinuxCNC is the reason he chose the 7i95
09:53 AM pcw_home: 7 Axis of glass scales?
09:54 AM JT-Shop: no, I assume 3 glass scales, he has a stepper driven ATC and some kind of stepper driven laser attachment
09:55 AM JT-Shop: maybe I should try and get him to be specific about the scales and steppers?
10:02 AM pcw_home: And I/O
10:04 AM JT-Shop: ok, I sent him an email... he is in NZ so a bit of time difference
03:44 PM JT-Shop: pcw_home, I just forwarded the email from Pete in NZ with his list of step gens, encoder inputs and I/O
04:28 PM pcw_home: Yes unfortunately that number of stepgens will not fit in a 7I95
04:40 PM JT-Shop: 7i80HD?
06:29 PM Tom_L: JT-Shop, i would think so, it's got 72io
06:29 PM Tom_L: just add the stepgens to the 2nd or 3rd plug
06:29 PM Tom_L: iirc they are gpio by default
